Visited Sushi Taka around 8:30pm - quite late, but the staff still managed to serve quickly, and luckily I had a reservation so I got a seat at the bar. I went for the 1,500k omakase set after seeing reviews on TikTok and Google.
- 3 appetizers (octopus with wasabi, wagyu beef, unagi jelly): 5/10, nothing special.
- Sashimi (6–7 types): 6/10. The shrimp wasn’t very fresh, texture was mushy instead of firm. Other fish were just average.
- Grilled fish: 4/10 - disappointing for an omakase, more like something I’d expect at an izakaya.
- Wagyu beef: 7/10.
- Steamed egg: 6/10.
- Sushi: 5/10. The balance between rice, fish, wasabi, and sauce didn’t quite come together.
- Matcha pudding: 3/10.
Overall: 5/10.
The space is nice, so I might come back for à la carte dishes, but I wouldn’t repeat the omakase experience.
