We often eat at Sushi Tei when visiting Kuta and always have a great experience. The service is always fantastic, the menu is extensive, there is a sea view and the food is always delicious. On this occasion, my wife was also given a free birthday treat. The only downside is that it is a little pricey, but that is to be expected in a Shopping Mall in a arguable the most commercial city in Bali.

I really like this restaurant, l even often eat at Sushi Kyuden which is in the same group as this restaurant Sushi-Tei But tonight when I ordered the Salmon Sashimi Salad menu and enjoyed it I accidentally found "MAGGOTS" in the salad. Why are there Maggots: Maggots in vegetables indicate that the vegetables are not fresh, rotten, or not stored properly, and there may be flies laying eggs on the vegetables. Maggots themselves are fly larvae found in damaged or rotten food. I am really sad which is actually a restaurant that should provide fresh and clean food, supervision should actually be strict. I just imagine sometimes I order Sashimi with an incident like this I can describe maybe the sashimi can not be clean or fresh. After finding this problem I called the staff and said that I would not continue eating anymore, but the staff said that there were still additional tamago that had not come out and I said that I no longer intend to eat it whatever it is because it is still sourced from the same kitchen and the chef did not even meet and explain to me. At the end I was asked to pay for what I had eaten, I said that I showed the maggot incident in my salad, not that there was not even a little bit of wanting to ask for free payment because of this case, and I finally i pay for everything | ordered. Previously I asked where the manager was, i wanted to communicate this problem and ask how the food was actually stored until it was served, but because the manager was outside, they was ask to me for wait, because waiting for quite a long time I finally decided to pay it and leave

Extensive Menu, Very busy/popular restaurant. If you don't have a booking, you may need to queue, wait times can vary from 5 to 25mins+ Food is fresh and flavourful. Service staff is friendly and helpful.

Great service and very tasty sushi, but consistently coming to say extra dish unfinished will be charged was a bit annoying. Service is pretty terrible, keeps repeating this 😅 Once is enough 😅 Much better than the sushi restaurant at the ground floor of Beachwalk so make sure you come up to level 1. Highly recommend and will be back 👌👌

Sushi Tei is one of my fav sushi place. But todayyy i came to Sushi Tei Beach Walk, 2 girls sat behind me, and THEY WERE SO LOUD, i can’t even ate in peace. Some people near us also few times look at them because they were too loud but none of Sutei staff told them. You should keep your restaurant ambience well, people need to eat in peace so if there is something that can make other customers feel uncomfortable, your staff need to clear it. I didn’t want to start a fight in public place so i just ate in anger. So ladies if you see this review, i hope both of you can learn how to talk in restaurant as you’re not the one who eat there.

We were shopping around in the mall here and decided to give this place a try. Sushi were pretty good, the servers were welcoming, and the restaurant itself was very clean.

It was one of the restaurants we had been visiting for years. Every time we came to Beachwalk, we would stop by once, twice, sometimes even three times a day. For our 2025 trip to Bali, we chose this place for our first meal because it was familiar, and we trusted it. However, as soon as we stepped inside, we were met with disappointment. The restaurant was unbearably hot—nothing like before. It was no longer being properly cooled. When we asked why, they told us it was due to an issue with Beachwalk Mall and that they were trying to cool the place down with their own means. But honestly, despite their efforts, it still felt like a sauna inside. The decline in cleanliness was even more shocking. The high hygiene standards we had once appreciated were no longer there. Tables weren’t as clean, and the cutlery was handled carelessly. For instance, the spoon I was given had a very obvious fingerprint on it—as if someone with dirty hands had just grabbed it. I immediately asked for a replacement, which they provided, but if they were serving utensils like this, I could only imagine what was happening in the kitchen. Jokingly speaking, they might as well be wiping them with spit. Of course, that’s just a joke, but still, if they’re this careless with a spoon, I wouldn’t have high expectations for overall hygiene. As for the food, the taste was mediocre at best—not the same quality as before. On top of that, almost everything we asked for was “sold out.” The strange part is that some items had been “sold out” for years. Even last year, and the year before, they had claimed not to have certain dishes. It seems they never actually serve these items but keep them on the menu as some sort of prestige illusion. However, this is misleading and underestimates the intelligence of customers. People come expecting to try something from the menu, only to be told it’s unavailable—it’s a dishonest tactic. One of the biggest disappointments was their declining hygiene standards. We requested a high chair for our child, but the one they brought was so filthy that we couldn’t believe it. They offered to wipe it down, but honestly, it should never have been brought to us in that condition in the first place. This is about a baby’s health—such negligence is unacceptable. In the end, we decided to remove this restaurant from our go-to list. They need to prioritize cleanliness before anything else. Dirty tables, unclean utensils, and poorly maintained high chairs are simply unacceptable. If they can’t even ensure basic hygiene, we can’t trust what’s coming from the kitchen. Unfortunately, we’ve lost a restaurant we once loved. We wish them the best—but they’ve lost us as customers.
