Great place for all you can eat sushi! Super quick with bringing food & drinks, overall great service! It was quiet but busy, guests were well spaced. It was high quality & you really get your moneys worth. Come hungry if you do all you can eat!!

Google
Me and my group of 5 friends all went there, immediately from the inside it has very nice lighting, great decoration and dining. When you sit down you all have a sheet of paper to order from, unlimited sushi is just phenomenal especially for $20/person. The Godzilla roll was so so good there. For unlimited sushi the service was fast, delicious and well worth the money. 10/10 would go again

Google
This place used to be good…actually, AMAZING. We always came here for sushi but the quality of food has actually declined throughout the years. I’m so sad. It was our most favorite family sushi place. I think we need to go try their Draper location now even though this location is closer. I am really hoping it will be good because we really loved this Sushi Ya.

Google
Came for a work anniversary. Place was a bit dark. Friendly workers. A bit hard to understand but not so much we couldn't get what we wanted. The bathroom doors look like they haven't been cleaned in a while but the rooms themselves were kept nice. Depends on what time you are there as to what you can order. Two different sizes of rolls too. I got the New Yorker, Playboy, and one other. They were rather good but no real punch of flavor or spiciness. I left plenty full. They were a good ratio of rice to other fillings. I would recommend if you want all you can eat sushi.

Google
Sushi Ya was really great for lunch today! I was pleasantly surprised by both the quality and quantity of the AYCE options. I usually avoid this kind of place because it tends to be just a mountain of rice with a little not-great fish, but this was awesome! The fish-to-rice ratio was about 1:1, which was fantastic. It's hard to find eel that's not bristly with tiny bones, or salmon and mackerel that taste fresh and not fishy. Everything I tried was high quality and delicious, and I can be very picky. The service was quick and we had our rolls and nigiri super fast. My hand roll was the biggest one I think I've had, with lots of scallops. My one tiny complaint is that the lights were a bit bright, but it was daytime. They even have a little koi pond! We will definitely be back and next time I'll take a photo for sure.

Google
Pretty good sushi. Our faves are ck special, sushi ya special, summer, volcano & Rocky mountain. I'd give them 5 stars if they put a little less rice on their rolls and if it was a little cleaner. Their bathrooms are a little scary. See if you can find the snowman hanging on the wall (he's there year round).

Google
Walking in the appearance of the restaurant was quite nice. Cool fish, turtles, decor and a gigantic Buddha up front. Staff greeted us with a smile, but it felt like once we had our first order in, we were pretty much ignored. After our first plate of sushi when we were ready to order again, they questioned us and told us there was a limit to how much we could order. Bathroom smelled interesting (not pleasant) seats sank and furniture was outdated and the dining area was a little dingy. I hate to leave reviews like this, but I read reviews that says it was stellar and I wanted to share another opinion… Food was okay, but I think I would go elsewhere for an all you can eat sushi experience next time.

Google
The value is awesome. Great service and the sushi is good for the price. We especially love the rolls when tempura or crystal shrimp. They do a great job with flavors and textures. The rice is kept cold, but I think it's just to keep the service fast. They pump out the rolls quickly and are All You Can Eat.

Yelp
I had a horrible experience at SushiYa. They brought out 3 rolls drowning in eel sauce. No where on the menu indicated that these rolls would be covered with the sauce. I wiped off 2 of the rolls but the third was a deep fried roll and it soaked up the sauce..... I asked that they make me another without the sauce and they lost their shit. Tried blame me for not telling my server that I didn't want eel sauce on my rolls. I asked them to show me where in the menu it says it came with eel sauce. They couldn't but continued to argue and blame me. I was livid. MY SERVER WAS AWESOME.... THE OWNER AND HER FRIEND WERE ASSHOLES. DONT EAT AT SUSHI YA!!!! The new owner and management are terrible. I

Yelp
Service was nonexistent from the moment you walk through the door, no one greeted us. The lady who sat us was nice but after that it was bad. We sat waiting for someone to give us the bill and one of the servers just kept walking by us avoiding eye contact. Not to mention she was literally on her phone the whole time unless she was talking to someone. We didn't get help until we called out to her. Then she finally mentioned to us "Oh we be bringing them to the front". My friend left a tip on the table, so when we finally got to pay she didn't leave a tip on the card, and the front desk lady said "you're not going to tip your server??" which regardless or not if she had left some money on the table, you don't ask that question. It's unprofessional, and also not your business. I'm a server myself and I understand things like food coming out late or maybe something simple going wrong, but the service should always succeed. Will not recommend.

Alysa W.

Yelp
Terrible customer service the lady at the front was so rude and very snappy with me when I came up to get my order.

Yelp
This place isn't a 3. It is a 5/1. On the strong positive side, the food is delicious, and it is inexpensive. So what's the problem? a) quality and b) customer service. My husband and I both ordered Jason roles, and neither of us detected any scallop in there at all. It was seriously delicious! But I couldn't find the scallop. So I complained, and the waitress/owner was indignant. I still had half of my roll left, so I went through it one grain of rice at a time and showed her that there was no scallop. (There was one tiny piece that she said she thought was scallop and I tasted it and wasn't completely sure to be frank. So maybe one grain of rice-sized piece of scallop in the bottom half. So she said she would make me another, and I said that I wanted to watch. The cook made so much scallop that I doubted that it could fit into one roll. But then they disappeared with it and re-emerged several minutes later with my roll. This one did have some scallop, but I still can't believe that it was as much as I saw. There just wouldn't have been space for rice and I had plenty of rice! Look, I get it. Inflation is high, and the protein is the expensive part. This is a cheap sushi place, so of course they are going to skimp on the fish. But come on. It should have at least one small scallop in a whole roll. And the customer service, well I shouldn't have to stand up and wave my hands for more than a minute TWICE during one dining experience! Especially when there were only two other people in there at the time. Will I go back? Probably. It's cheap and good. Will I order something the same color as rice again? Nope! Do I look forward to interacting with their staff again? Definitely not.

Yelp
The inside of this place is very nice and decorated well. They even have a pond with fish in it. The seating is also nice and they have large tables for large groups. They do have a great system or method down for ordering sushi as well. The servers are very fast and effective. They could smile more though. The all you can eat sushi is the best option to do with a group and you can really get a good variety too. I do think some of the rolls are hot and miss though. However, it was really good overall and decently priced even with the tip being included.

Yelp
Went to Sushi Ya with a group of girlfriends for a farewell dinner. First things first, the restaurant is huge inside with lots of seating. That being said, it was Friday night but not really too busy. This restaurant is definitely dated and could use some TLC. We ordered off their pretty big sushi menu and chose to go with the all you can eat. Our rolls took almost FIFTY minutes to come out after we put in our order which was a little bit "yikes" for all of us. We were chatting and enjoying the company but by then we were pretty hungry and ate fast and I didn't get a picture of the rolls. The rolls were pretty tasty and we enjoyed almost all of them! But the wait was definitely a downside for us. We didn't order a second round because we just couldn't justify the wait. We had two different servers who weren't crazy attentive with our waters, especially for the amount of time we were there. Overall it was a mediocre restaurant experience. Service could definitely have been improved but the food was good!

Mike B.

Yelp
The service was fantastic and the special rolls were larger than most sushi places I've been to. The fried rolls were maybe a little too greasy for my liking but I also sometimes struggle with fried food. Overall I'd say it's a great place to go if you love sushi
google avatar

John K.

Yelp
Overall not too bad. The sushi especially for being an all you can eat place was really good. My friend had ordered a few variances of the rolls. He stated that they were also pretty good especially for around $28. The staff dropped in on us about four times to check if we wanted anything else and quite honestly they brought so much out the first time I don't think I could have without having to give up and be a quitter! I don't know if I would take a date there in an effort to impress for a first date but if both of you were just craving some sushi and maybe want to sample multiple types I would recommend this especially being unlimited you can try a lot. I enjoyed the green tea and the fact they brought each of us our own personal teapot which I thought was a nice touch. When in town give them a try.

Yelp
Food was amazing! We didn't have to wait to be seated Servers have broken English but were attentive and fast and the menu is in English but the prices aren't up to date. It looks tiny from the outside but inside has vaulted Ceilings and it's quite big. We over ordered and was so full after. It was beyond tasty and fresh. My favorite was the vegetarian roll. It was flavorful and crunchy. I also liked the spicy Californian. It could use a update and more windows or lighting. I was surprised it wasn't busier.

Yelp
There were three in my party for dinner. We all ordered the all you can eat sushi and a soda each. The waitress was quick and efficient. The sushi portion of the menu was divided into three categories: basic rolls, nigiri, and speciality rolls. All you can eat Specialty Rose were only After ordering, it took about 10 minutes to receive our sushi rolls. All you can eat specially rolls were only available available for dinner. We could watch the chef make them from our table. When our meal arrived, the sushi was packed a little loose, and it was a bit rice heavy, but it seemed like the fish and seafood were appropriate portions and it all tasted great. The waitress brought out timely, fresh sodas. After three rolls each, we were all stuffed and satisfied. With a 20% tip, the bill came to 115.00 bucks. I would probably eat here again.

Cole C.

Yelp
AMAZING SUSHI, nice big delicious rolls for like 6 bucks. Really cool environment for the whole experience, fish pond, beautiful paintings. By far the best place in the Provo/Orem area. They brought us our rolls nice and quick. Im sold, found my sushi paradise.

Yelp
Had been to Suhi-Ya a few times in the past few years and decided to give it a try again this week. Service - We walked into the the empty foyer and saw an employee far into the restaurant. She didn't say anything and just held up 2 fingers, appreantly she was "asking" if we needed a table for 2. No smile, no emotion, just odd. We were seated and she took our order fast. Food was served quickly, again, no smile, nothing. She checked back and got our second round order when we were almost done with our first. She never asked how our food was, never thanked us. The whole thing was just strange. Food - Sushi is supposed to look appitizing. It should be a work of art. But NOPE! It looks like a huge mess that was made by a 5 year old. The fish was not fresh and the portion was just too small. The nigiri rice was the size of an infant's fist! The amoung of tibiko was wrong. AYCE lunch was $16.95. I feel that we were being robbed. Grocery store sushi would have been much better than this... Atmosphere - The restaurant was a Chinese buffet years ago. The restaurant still has these dark dark walls and ceiling. Insufficient lighting, paper products, chopsticks, and napkins spreadout on one of the larger table in the middle of the dinning room. One of the back walls has random paints splattered all over. The booth seats have crumbs in the cracks like it hasn't been deep clean in a long time. Overall, it's pretty awful and sketchy. It has gotten worse and worse over the years. Don't think we'll ever come back again.

Yelp
The rolls are massive be careful when you order. My friends and I went there and ordered the unlimited rolls. The problem is they were massive and we had to over eat so we didn't have to pay the fee for leaving leftovers. Rolls were okay for a college city. Inside is clean and the staff are friendly.

Sue K.

Yelp
Poor experience. Spicy tuna rolls tasted off and couldn't eat them. Owner argued that they were fine. Other rolls were just ok. Would not recommend. Staff other than boss/owner very nice and apologetic.

Collin D.

Yelp
Worst sushi of my life. Each role is filled with tons of rice and as little meat as possible. Nirgiri was freezer burned and entirely cut wrong. The interior is that of a dingy run-down restaurant. I would only recommend if you really really need to get full and have been starving.

Yelp
We had the weirdest experience at Sushi Ya. This by far tops the list of the worst service I've ever received. Which bums me out, Sushi Ya was the place that taught me to love sushi. I've taken that love of sushi all over the world because of Sushi Ya. When we asked for water the waiter actually made a huge sigh and tromped away. Sign this guy up for Broadway it was REALLY dramatic. Okay maybe his girlfriend broke up with him today and he thinks we are cheap for getting water. (We really just don't like sugar and calories) What ever. We run out of water and all of our Sushi is gone. I have to waive this guy over, I'm pretty reserved, it takes a lot for me to waive anyone over. We order another roll and ask for more water. He NEVER came back guys! After a long time we just decided to leave. When we tried to pay he had thrown out order sheet in the trash and no one could find him in the restaurant. Jokes on him. To pay all of the good karma and blessing the universe has given us. Instead of donating to charities we tip working class people over $100+ when we go out to eat. Unfortunately this man received my first ever $0 tip. But you guys if you go is "man bun guy" still there? Did he quit that night he threw our order sheet in the trash? It doesn't make sense, eventually we were going to try to leave and pay. I don't see him doing that unless he was quitting that night. Someone please update me on man bun guy.

Yelp
Set your expectations before coming to Sushi-Ya. I enjoy it depending on what I'm seeking. If you're looking for a great all-you-can-eat sushi place with decent sushi for the price, then Sushi Ya is a good choice. The best value with the all-you-can-eat is the unlimited nigiri you can get. If you're looking for a quality sushi joint, then you're better off somewhere other than Sushi-Ya. Again, I like this place if I want a good deal with average sushi, but their rolls are pretty much just filled with crab salad, and there's not a ton of flavor differentiation between most rolls. I'll continue to go back, but it depends on the mood I'm in and what I'm wanting out of my sushi experience.

Yelp
their tempura rolls are AWESOME!! and they have a gosh tu pond in the entrance. solid 10/10

Yelp
They finally got a legit website and it seemed so awesome and exciting with points you can earn etc... HOWEVER, none of the pictures are their own, they're just from the internet of other places. The pictures don't even match the descriptions. The fact that this place STILL can't stop cutting corners and giving legit crap food is so disappointing. This used to be my favorite place until I got moldy rolls, rolls full of vegetables I never ordered and paid more for a different kind, continued to get black hairs in the rolls, and every single time (4x in a row) got food poisoning! If they honestly would just get new staff or figure out a better food vendor or how to store things properly up to code and make good quality food it would be amazing again. So dang frustrated and bummed.

Katy P.

Yelp
If you want to have a rough and awkward night I would highly recommend coming here. You will step back in time and cleanliness when you come. The horrible service is irreplaceable and creates a night you won't forget! Coming hungry? Perfect. They'll make you wait 45 minutes for your food, just to show you that you can wait to eat much longer than you think you can. Not a people person? Even better. The waitress will ask what you want to drink once and then bring your drink 20 minutes later, and then she's out of your hair. Why would you ask an employee to help you when you can just be disappointed instead?
google avatar

Kyle M.

Yelp
We decided to order sushi from here off their website and were really disappointed. They have all these beautiful pictures of really good looking sushi rolls and when we got them they looked nothing like the pictures. I read the descriptions and they dont even match what the pictures have. I guess that was stupid of me to assume the pictures were accurate and not worry about the description. I will never order pickup from here again. And to make it worse, there wasn't any ginger and they almost forgot the chopsticks. I asked for them last second because I didn't see them in the bag.

Yelp
Sushi Ya? More like Sushi Nah! I would not recommend this restaurant. We started our experience by being yelled at by two waitresses and we were belittled for how much we ordered. To make suggestions is one thing, but with the risk of sounding dramatic, we were literally being yelled at and one lady even said that it is impossible for a human to eat that much. This did not set the mood for our evening and to be honest, it was humiliating. When we received our food, the nigiri was room temperature which was very concerning considering it's a health hazard to serve raw fish at a temperature so high. The rolls did not have the burst of flavor that we wanted and they were overall bland with no sauces on them. We ordered three rolls and none of them came with sauce despite what the menu said. When I was eating my nigiri, I ate the fish first and planned to eat the rice afterwards, but the waitress (literally) yelled that I have to eat the rice or else I will be charged. I was in the middle of eating, I would understand if she said that when she took the plate away, but I was still eating my food and wanted to save the rice for after. I had to ask her to stop coming to our table because she was being really rude and controlling over my friend and I. Furthermore, I noticed that they serve an abnormally large pad of rice with their nigiri to the point where I had to take two bites of it even though the point is for nigiri to be bite sized. I didn't expect to leave so disappointed. I point this out not to nit-pick, but to highlight the fact that not only is the service bad, but the food was not up to par given the price being $27 for dinner. If i'm paying that much, I would prefer to not have the greed thrown in my face from every angle of the restaurant even down to the smallest details. I really wanted to like this place and i'm really disappointed.

Yelp
MUST READ!!!!!!!! If I could give negative 5 star for this restaurant, I would definitely do that. I went there for dinner. The following reasons are why I would urge you not to come to this place, not even once! 1. Poor Customer Service We have waited over 10 minutes to be seated when we got into the restaurant when the restaurant is empty and no customers. We then not being served until we asked for help. 2. Bad food quality I know I shouldn't expect much from a All You Can Eat sushi place, but I didn't expect that there are fish bones in the sushi. The rice is huge while the fish is small compare to it. Their business strategy is to make you paying $26.95 for a large portion of rice with a tiny portion of fish on top during dinner service. 3. Servers are rude We have order quite a big portion of sushi, when our order came, the server came to us couple times and said that we shouldn't have ordered that much at once and threatened us that we have to pay fee for any leftover food. After we have paid at the cashier, I didn't pay them any tips on purpose due to their poor service and food quality. As soon as I gave them back my receipt, the cashier rejected my receipt and said that why aren't you paying any tips and force me to rewrite it. 4. Unauthentic people running the restaurant For those who don't know about Asia, sushi comes from Japan. This place is running by a whole bunch of Chinese people, you can imagine how authentic it can get. I am not being racist, but this is true! No wonder why there are fish bones in the sushi, you can see how careless these people are. This is literally THE WORST RESTAURANT in Utah. I would suggest you don't even think about going to this place, this would be the biggest mistake in your life. I have made mine, and I want to save you from doing it.
google avatar

Julia H.

Yelp
4 of my co workers and I use to love coming here for sushi at least 2 times a month during our lunch break. But after the last time there I told them I would NEVER go back. After going several times the servers were extremely rude. I almost wondered if they had a problem with us until I read all the other reviews of the servers being rude to other customers. If you order a la cart don't expect them to come back to the table after bringing your food. It's almost like it's offensive to ask for a box. Almost every time we would go we'd have to get up and get our own boxes if we wanted to take any leftovers. We have since found a new sushi place where the servers are nice and prompt. I will never step foot back in that place until I start reading better reviews that the servers have had an attitude adjustment. Don't give them your business if they continue to be rude. There are plenty of other sushi places that are just as good if not better!!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Bad management, rude waiters, dirty and old establishment, disgusting bathrooms with roaches in it, cheap sushi filled with more rice than sushi. Can't get much worse than Sushi Ya!

Yelp
My kids LOVED sushi ya, we used to go regularly until they started charging me full price for my 7 yr old. Which doesn't make sense.. Tonight we tried to go again, they have signs asking you to wait at a certain place, which we did.. as we waited multiple servers walked by glancing at us and not helping. After 10 minutes we were finally yelled at asking how many people we have. I approached him and answered his question as well as informed him how long we've waited and that we were waiting behind the sign so he shouldn't yell at us. He snapped at me, told me he was busy and I could leave and not wat there. So we left as well as the people waiting behind us. Definitely won't be returning to this dirty restaurant with rude service.

Yelp
Bait and switch. Slow service. Plan on 30 mins before you'll see your food. This was at 1:30pm with the restaurant being 25% filled. Pricing is expensive, $11.99 for 3 rolls sounds like a deal until you realize your getting 4 pieces per a roll. I'd say about half roll, $11.99 for 3 half rolls, would be better put. Many other near places offering 50% full rolls 8 to 12 peices with faster service and same quality level. Next visit tried a entree (pictured) for $12.99, much better value for your money, filling but mainly rice and cabbage. Still slow service, 27 mins this time.

Yelp
I stopped in for the lunch buffet and everything was delicious. I had the New Orleans, summer, and godzilla rolls. They were all so good but the summer and godzilla were my fave.

Yelp
We came to Sushi Ya while visiting Orem from Southern California and saw that most of the Yelp reviews rated this place very high. Very VERY disappointed and dissatisfied. The service was poor to say the least as the lady taking our order kept talking to other staff members (yelling across the restaurant at times) while we were speaking. She would then ask us to repeat our order a few times because she wasn't paying attention. Then when our order was called out after FORTY-FIVE MINUTES (yes, that's right, 45) it took her 10 more minutes to organize our food and add things that were apparently forgotten or missed. Then, once we get back to our hotel, we discovered that our food wasn't what we had ordered and the teriyaki chicken was cold (as in pulled out of the freezer and not microwaved long enough) and tasteless! Next time I visit this beautiful city we're gonna make sure to steer clear of this restaurant.

John P.

Yelp
So it turns out I went to a different sushi place than the one I was referred to. Still, I thought it would be worth a try since I was already there and I'm glad I gave it a shot. I got the veggie tempura and the spicy california to go and they were magnificent! I shared them with my sister who shared my sentiments. Excellent sushi and not too pricey either. I love the vibe of the restaurant too, they have this nice little pond inside with fish and turtles swimming about. The chairs are very comfortable and the architecture inside has a classy look.
google avatar

Steven K.

Yelp
This place was awesome! Sushi was great! Workers aren't annoying! You should go if you like good sushi

Michael S.

Yelp
This used to be my favorite place to get sushi. Over time they have gone more and more expensive, and at the same time less and less fish, way more rice and filler. It used to be a great place to sit at the bar and talk with the chefs, now there is no bar and everything is prepared behind the scenes. I've started looking at other places like Sushi Up, Sushi House, and Asahi.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
The service was super slow. We got the all you can eat dinner and the first round was normal, but for the second round, the sushi had WAY too much rice! You could barely fit some of the pieces in your mouth and it didn't even look appetizing at that point. There was so much rice that we got full really fast and the waitress got really mean with us when we asked for a box. When we explained that the pieces were too big, she got us one box and shoved everything into it angrily in a giant mess of sushi and she went with us to the cash register to make sure that we got charged for every piece we didn't eat. She was incredibly rude to my husband.. we are never coming here again! Slow service, unappetizing sushi, and mean waiters/waitresses!

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place. It's a restaurant with big space yet has an authentic hole-in-the-wall feel. The service was pretty good. My server didn't say much to me since she was an older Asian woman but she was attentive and checked in quite a few times. My issue was with the sushi. Granted, I couldn't expect much from an AYCE sushi joint run by Chinese people. But all of the rolls I ordered tasted like grocery store sushi. The fried tempera rolls I ordered were drenched in sauce and then the rice roll tasted like someone pre-made it, stuck it in the fridge, and then served it to me. It's the quality I would expect in a small town that only has one Asian restaurant in a 50-mile radius. But in Orem, my standards were a little higher. It wasn't horrible. But I was starving and struggled to finish three rolls since you know - they have that rule that you have to finish all of your food if you go with the AYCE option.

Anthony B.

Yelp
Don't ever eat there. Their waiters and waitresses, as well as cashiers, don't know enough English to support their business. Their sushi is fantastic; however, good food does not replace poor service. I stood at the register, trying to pay for my food, for about ten minutes while this abrasive cashier tried to bully me into giving them a tip. This was all in broken, kindergartener English, so it was incredibly frustrating for me. This also happened to my cousin. They've also jacked up their prices because nobody wants to go there. Seeing these reviews, their steady decline as a business makes sense. I advice everyone to either learn Mandarin and enjoy a pleasant meal, or to search for a more hospitable sushi restaurant.

Yelp
The sushi I consumed here is the worst I've ever had in my life. I went on a Saturday night and ordered the Futomaki, Rainbow, Alaska, New Orleans, Spicy crunch, and Orange Julius. When I got my orders, I realized that this was not going to be a good sushi experience. For example, the Futomaki was so large that the roll lay undone on the serving plate. In addition, I ordered the tobiko, tuna, and upside down shrimp Nigiri. The sushi chef had made the rice balls so hard that I could barely chew through it. It really destroyed the experience of the tobiko. Also, the rainbow roll almost managed to make me gag. I'm assuming most people order the tempura rolls as the Spicy Crunch was the only roll that didn't make me cringe. I am assuming that the person/people who prepared the sushi must have been inexperienced because from the looks of the uneven spreading of the rice to the way the sushi was rolled it looked very inexperienced. There was something very off about the flavor of the rice. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but the rice was under flavored and the texture just a bit off. Not only were the rolls rather unskillfully made, they just tasted horrible. The fish lacked flavor, several rolls lacked seasoning, and other rolls dripped in sauce, and the combination and ingredient placements were just wrong. It was just a horrible mess and a pain to eat. I do have to disclose that I have an diverse taste palate and that this review isn't from an inexperienced sushi lover nor a sushi-Nazi. I've never been this harsh on a sushi place. Neither am I comparing this to other sushi restaurants in the neighborhood. The food was just simply horrible.

Yelp
The place looks nice and clean. There is a small fountain on the side of the entrance with turtles and fishes. But service had a trouble in explaining things and it very hard to understand them. Appetizers are not included in all you can eat which is surprising. Usually some place offer at least miso or tempura but not here. Food was ok.

Yelp
I have always loved this place until today. I pulled out a PUBIC hair out of my sushi. I brought it to my servers attention. They offered to make me more, I told them it was disgusting and absolutely not. I said I was ready to leave and they said they needed me to pay. I literally ate maybe a whole roll and they charged me for the all you can eat lunch special. I wasn't going to argue; I paid and left and have disputed this with my card company, turned them into that health department, and reported them to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT EAT HERE!!! I am not the type to do this kind of thing, but this is sick and WRONG. I won't ever go back.

Yelp
They literally gave me a paper cut when ripping the order from my hand... big attitude problem with the staff. What you don't eat they throw away, because of waste... but you can't take it with you... half a roll... We spent over $80, really!?

Yelp
8/20/2022. Absolute worse service ever!! There were plenty open tables even. For the 2 HOURS my wife and I were there for the all-you-can-eat, we only had ONE ticket filled! Took the gal next to us 45min for an edamame order. After 2 HOURS we had other places we needed to be. They hadn't even started our 2nd ticket! (We usually do 3-4 tickets). They were more than happy to still charge us the AYCE price though! Never again! Horrible! Use to be a go to spot, but not anymore!

Yelp
This place doesn't even deserve one star because of how terrible the service was. If you have a party of 6 or more, they require an 18% tip. However, they use this as an excuse to give horrific service because they know they will get paid anyway. The restaurant was practically empty but they made us wait for about 20 minutes to take our order, and during the whole duration of the meal, they never refilled our drinks. When we would ask questions about the menu, the response was cold and they acted like we were a burden to be asking questions. We didn't see our server for 40 minutes at a time and had to get up continuously to ask for someone to come wait for us. On the bright side, the food was good, but if you want good sushi with great service in the Provo/Orem area, then go to Sumo Sushi. This place provided THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD. Period.

Yelp
I did not have a good experience here. The restaurant looks old and dirty. Also the sushi is not good, probably the worst I've had. The rolls I ordered were not cooked all the way, and I felt sick once I went home. I do not recommend at all. Utah has some awful restaurants that I guess many locals think are good but this place sucks! Save yourself the time and money and eat somewhere else!

Yelp
I've been to many Sushi AYCE all over the US and this place here in Orem, Utah was ok at best. The service was friendly especially the only Caucasian Gal that works there. My biggest knock on this place was the amount of rice they pack on to every sushi. It's nearly double the amount for their rolls, hand rolls and nigiri I'm use to seeing. I was gonna give it 2 stars but the price is reasonable at $21.95 for AYCE but the service was quick and friendly. I guess I've been spoiled every where I've been but just my honest thoughts.

Yelp
We use to come here more often until we realized we were settling for ok sushi. ORDER THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN ROLL, that is their best specialty sushi roll. Sushi is good for an "all you can eat" Place. It seems like a hole in the wall, but it's has comfortable environment. Very casual eating place for families especially on a budget. (Don't except exceptional sushi). Expect good value sushi. Their regular food is good as well. From the many times I came here with friends. I can't remember anything exceptional hence it's a solid 3 star place.

Yelp
5 years ago we gave sushi-ya a 5 star. We haven't eaten there in a year But decided to go for our anniversary last night. (That's how much we loved them) I was so disappointed. Usually they blow us away with presentation and we take a picture because it's so colorful and beautiful. We didn't bother this time. Everything looked bland and the same. We always ask for the sunset roll with thinly sliced lemons on top. They sliced up a lemon too chunky to chew with the rinds. And they just dumped it in a pile. I think smith's sushi puts more effort into presentation... I think we need to find a new sushi spot :(

Yelp
Sushi-Ya, you've probably noticed us. We miss southern California but given the fact that it's all you can eat ($15 for lunch, $19 for dinner), it's a mile away and not 900 miles away, and we've found the rolls that satisfy our sushi fix, you're our go-to spot. Tip: we typically get 3 rolls per round for the 2 of us and order the next round of 3 when we're half-way. Keeps things fresh and manageable as you have to finish your sushi or pay for waste! Godzilla - slightly spicy, crunchy, tasty, I gotta have one with every round. 49ers - great interim roll (good roll to eat in between very flavorful sushi). It has a slight crunch, fresh feel, and excellent modest taste. Happy and Cooked Scallop - other great interim rolls. My wife loves the Volcano and the Summer! Again, all you can eat for $15 is hard to beat! And the lunch hour lasts til 4pm! Their service is solid too.

Yelp
I would give it zero stars if they let me! Worst sushi I've ever ate! Rude customer service like she was doing us a favor to serve us. And they she came out to ask for a tip that she did not deserve! Place was dirty, bathrooms were horrible to match the service! Don't eat here!

Yelp
Honestly it shouldn't even be a one star but less than that. They have a male server that is terrible and mistreats women. He had a discussion with the manager and was very aggressive when he was cleaning a table to the point of pushing on the side the manager when she was trying to clean too. Not to mention that I am pretty sure she was pregnant. No woman deserves to be treated like that and I don't give a crap if he was in a bad mood or anything. The food was good but the environment that day made everything uncomfortable. That guy needs to learn how to respect customers and women. He also ignored me and my friends and served the white people that were behind us instead of us. We had to ask another women to serve us because he completely ignored us. HORRIBLE.

Yelp
I would have liked to leave a review for service and food separately but because that is not an option, my service review will prevail: The service here is by far the worst experience I've had at any restaurant. Before we were seated, we asked to sit in a booth. When the hostess/server heard this she seemed bugged and said "It's really far away." We said we didn't mind and she begrudgingly took us over to the table. Once seated, there were multiple servers that "took care" of us - no one was strictly assigned to make sure our needs were met. They just waked by every 5-10 minutes and it was our job to ask to be helped. We sat for some time before we received drinks. No one greeted us to explain the menu or anything. After about 15 minutes, we flagged someone down to receive service. Once we finally received our drink orders, there was a typical wait for sushi (no complaint there - it takes time). However, no one brought us refills in the meantime. When we asked for refills, the server grabbed all of our glasses at once. When she returned, our cups and drinks had been switched around - my friend received my straw with my lipstick in what can be assumed was my cup originally. All of this aside, the worst part was after we had completed our meal. We sat for some time (not aware that you could walk up to the front to pay) waiting for someone to help us. Finally, someone came by and very rudely said, "We close in 10 minutes so you need to go pay." Then another server came and vacuumed in front of our table for the next 10 minutes (and this wasn't one of those cute silent vacuums). Luckily, this same "courtesy" was afforded to the other 3 tables in the restaurant so we knew they were rude to everyone. I worked in 3 local restaurants as a server (one being a Sushi restaurant) and have never told a table to leave or treated them as terribly as we were treated. Unfortunately, Sushi Ya is living up to the rumor: Good Sushi, Bad Service.
