What to eat, see and do at Jewel Changi Airport - SilverKris

"A conveyor-belt sushi restaurant opened in 2022 offering over 100 types of sushi and Japanese dishes for quick, casual dining; notable creations at this outlet include the Captain Jumbo Fried Shrimp — a playful airplane-shaped sushi — and Jewels from the Sea, which showcases premium ingredients such as abalone, scallop, salmon roe and matumaezuke (seasoned herring roe and kombu)." - Darcel Al Anthony

I was quite disappointed with my visit to Sushiro at Jewel. The sushi rice didn’t hold together well and felt more like Chinese rice rather than proper Japanese sushi rice. There wasn’t enough vinegar in the rice to give it that distinct flavor or stickiness, which really affected the overall texture and experience. Unfortunately, the food also didn’t taste as fresh as I expected from a well-known sushi chain. Overall, it was not an enjoyable meal and definitely below the usual Sushiro standard.

Sushiro at Jewel Changi offers a great, affordable conveyor belt sushi experience. Key Takeaways * Vast Variety: Over 100 sushi and side dishes, including unique seasonal and international specials (like their exclusive Chicken Rice Nigiri). * Experience: Fun, fast, and interactive with both a conveyor belt and a separate express belt for specific orders via a touch panel. * Quality: Generally good and fresh for a chain, offering excellent value-for-money at a prime location. * Must-Try: Their specialty sushi, sashimi, and Japanese-imported desserts (Matcha Soft Serve, Mille Crepe). * Heads Up: Expect long queues and a strict 60-minute dining limit during peak hours. Reservations are highly recommended. It's a highly recommended spot for a satisfying and affordable sushi fix!

I came here for dinner last night, never having been before. I didn’t realize Sushiro was conveyer belt sushi. If I did, I might not have tried it out. Anyway, I still feel glad that I did. Upon the server’s recommendation, I got the salmon platter for one person. Instead of all the rolls being one flavor, I got to try out different ones. They were all tasty, I can’t pick any favorites. Overall, I’ve had better sushi in LA and in Japan, but if I needed Japanese food while at the airport or if in this area again I wouldn’t mind coming back.

We mistakenly ordered a sushi dish because I couldn’t see the photo clearly in the system, and it turned out to be raw. When we approached the waiter to request a change, she stated it wasn’t possible since it was already in the system. Instead of trying to accommodate us, she suggested we have it will not be fully cooked even though sending to kitchen and just walked away like that, but didn’t engage with our concerns. I’ve dined at numerous Japanese restaurants where they have been willing to make changes for customers. This experience at your restaurant was extremely disappointing, and the lack of responsiveness from the waiter was unacceptable.

We ordered several items, yet what was delivered often didn’t match what we selected. Despite raising the issue multiple times, the staff continued to bring the wrong dishes again and again. It’s frustrating and suggests that the team at Sushiro Jewel may need a serious retraining in service accuracy and attention to detail. As for the sushi itself, the quality leaves much to be desired. The slices of fish are incredibly thin—so thin, they might just be thinner than our hope of ever returning again. Sushiro used to be a place we looked forward to. Sadly, it’s now become a reminder of unmet expectations.

You know you can count on sushiro for good quality fish at affordable prices. Always dependable to satisfy my sashimi craving!

I ordered the Alaska Kichiji Sushi, but unfortunately, the piece I received was from the tail part of the fish and still had the skin attached. This made it very tough and difficult to chew, which affected the overall dining experience. I have always enjoyed dining at Sushiro for its quality and freshness, so this was quite disappointing.

Found a worm in a scallop sushi. Son almost ate. Place like this should be building trust by selling fresh raw food. How can we trust that the food is fresh? Management of Sushiro, people’s live are at stake! Kenny your branch manager saw and acknowledge.
