I’ve been to Susie’s twice and it hits every time! My top 3 picks are the short ribs, steak frites, and pancakes. The short ribs really are a must try - soo tender and really enjoyed the mushroom and spring onion kimchi. My friends and I can’t stop thinking about the sauce on both the short ribs and steak frites. I also love a crispy edge pancake Always lovely service too! :)

Had dinner at Susie’s and the food was good. The onion rings and Bangkok Fritto Misto were tasty and the standouts were the Kung Pao Fish and the pancakes. It is pricey considering the portion sizes are small. My biggest gripe is the service. It was good throughout the dinner but then when we had finished our meal I stepped away to use the washroom. My wife was waiting for our table to be cleared and to be given the bill when she overheard one of the staff say loudly “I hate when people are on their phones, like are you done already?” Sure enough, she put her phone down and then a server approached. Whether they were directed towards her or another customer, it is unprofessional and rude to make those comments which are clearly heard by those around you. The plates were empty so the server should focus on being more attentive rather than making loud remarks. We were planning to return to try brunch but after that we will go elsewhere.

I think I’ve found my new favourite brunch spot in Toronto. I had checked out the menu a few months ago and loved how it blended Asian-inspired dishes with classic brunch favourites. I made a noon reservation on a weekday, and I’m glad I did — the restaurant was already packed when we arrived. The general manager, Liben, greeted us with such warmth and made us feel so welcome. Since it was our first visit, he even offered us a coveted window seat, which was such a thoughtful touch. We ordered the General Tso’s Chicken Wings, Jade Garden Salad, Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich, a side of hash browns, and the Banana Pudding for dessert. We asked for everything to come out as it was ready, but impressively, all the dishes arrived around the same time — and everything was perfect. The wings stayed crunchy, juicy, and tangy to the last bite. The salad had an amazing mix of textures with the rice puffs and creamy guacamole base. The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich was a masterpiece — layers of fluffy eggs, char siu–glazed sausage, and a crispy hash brown, all nestled inside a soft milk scallion bun that was the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. The hash browns themselves were like crispy, golden square fries — seriously addictive. Finally, the Banana Pudding was rich, creamy, and loaded with banana pieces. My only wish was for a bit more cake inside, though the crumble on top was fantastic. The service was outstanding — every team member was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do. Liben also mentioned they recently started dinner service, which I’m already planning to try. If you’re looking for a creative brunch in Toronto that delivers on flavour, service, and atmosphere, this place deserves to be at the top of your list. I’ll definitely be back for both brunch and dinner!

I came across Susie’s Rise & Dine on TikTok and decided to bring my mum here for her birthday while visiting from out of town. The experience exceeded every expectation. The pancakes are unlike any other, crispy golden edges with a soft, fluffy center that makes them worth the hype. The steak and eggs were seasoned and cooked perfectly, a real standout dish. What truly set this place apart was the service. From the servers to the chefs to the managers, everyone worked together seamlessly and made us feel welcome. They even surprised my mum with their famous banana pudding, complete with a candle, which made her day extra special. Susie’s Rise & Dine is more than a meal, it’s an experience. Warm atmosphere, delicious food, and genuine care from the staff. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a spot that delivers on both flavour and hospitality.

Made a reso for 1pm on a Saturday - despite the reso we ended up waiting 30+ mins for our table to be ready. Walk ins were told 2 hour wait. We were really excited to try since we’ve seen it all over social media. The cocktails weren’t bad, but the mimosa was tiny - not worth it. The general tao wings were crispy and nicely coated. The miso ceasar was a fun take on the classic. Hashbrowns were delicious. The breakfast sandwich was heavy, but the scallion bun really made it. The shrimp sandwich - texture seemed off but still decent. The pancakes were crispy. Honestly, food was good but the service took away from the experience.

Google
I enjoyed Susie's Rise & Dine! The breakfast sandwich was a particular highlight, although the hash browns were also quite delicious. The food is very good quality. One thing I will say is that I wish they had a non-alcoholic drink menu, as we were unsure what beverages were available, and only found out there was orange juice after we were done eating. Additionally, we had made a reservation in advance, but when we arrived, we were seated at a table in the middle of the room, even though there was a window booth clearly available. If we book in advance, it would be nice to be offered the nicer table...

Google
We had a really good dinner! Beyond the great food, the service was fantastic overall—everyone from the management to the serving staff was sweet and attentive. A special shout-out to our server, Lila P, easy to deal with, and made the whole meal run smoothly. Three dishes in particular stood out and are definitely worth ordering: • Tokyo Caesar: This was a nice surprise. A refreshing and flavorful salad that's a good alternative to the standard Caesar. • Breakfast Fried Rice: A comforting and hearty dish. The crispy fried shallots on top added a great texture that elevated it. • Banana Pudding: It was the perfect rich, sweet finish to the meal. We also had the Susie's Hot Chicken Tenders and some drinks, which were perfectly fine. Highly recommend the dishes above, and the excellent staff made the experience even better!

Google
We’re fans of Susie’s, so our youngest wanted it for her birthday dinner. As always, the food was incredible - new tries for us were the Galbi and Fried rice. But here’s where it shifted from a great night out to a core memory: birthday pancakes (with candles), a little gift, and a card signed by the entire staff. Thank you to Liben and the whole team for such an amazing experience. New Favourite Restaurant unlocked.

Yelp
Another great time at Susie's. We had reservation for 4 and had a booth by the door. Just a note about Rez, the reservation window opens 2 weeks before but the times are shown in 15 min increments as opposed to all the times for the day being open... so if you want an 11am Rez, you need to wait till at least 11am for that slot to open (2 wks prior). I logged in at 10am and only 10 am was open, then 10:15, then 10:30 etc... I tried the Big Trouble breakfast sandwich and it was perfect! Flavour abound! And the sandwich held together so that you had no problem picking it up and eating it. Every element was good... egg, sausage, hash brown , bun... perfect. So filling that I did not have room for anything else! Will come back for the banana pudding another day!! Already wrote a review and mentioned that I love the diner decor and staff is friendly. Food came quite fast too so that was impressive. French press coffee was nice, you can get quite a few cups. I look forward to trying the dinner menu as well!

Yelp
I was highly recommended to go to this place by numerous people so I had to check it out. My party ordered the pancakes with the blueberry compote. In my opinion the pancakes were very mid. They had a nice texture but there was something off with the flavour. They tasted very oily and had a distinct after taste. The compote tasted good but it was very watery. I also ordered the big trouble breakfast sandwich and this was definitely the best thing I ordered. It tasted really good however it was literally dripping with grease. I held the sandwich with a napkin and the grease drenched the entire thing. The last thing I ordered was the hash browns. The hash browns had a nice fluffy texture but they lacked flavour. Also I don't know why, but after this meal me and my girlfriend's stomach's were absolutely destroyed. I've never reacted this way to food. Service was meh. Waiter had a bit of an attitude, but the host that helped us get a booth was very nice and helpful. This place is very overrated. Only thing going for it is the cool diner aesthetic. The food is nothing special and I won't be coming back.

Yelp
I had a reservation on a Thursday at 1:45 PM and the restaurant was packed! It was surprisingly really busy given the date and time. Luckily we had a reservation so we were seated almost right away. Before coming, we knew we were going to order the pancakes. However, that wasn't going to be enough food, so we also got the "the big trouble breakfast sandwich" and hash browns. The pancakes were crispy and super soft on the inside (not cakey but more eggy). It came with a side of syrup and blueberry compote which I thought was too watery. The breakfast sandwich was a good concept. I loved the scallion bun they used. It was just a bit greasy and I didn't get much char siu flavour from the meat. The hash browns were super crispy and airy! Susie's gives off American Chinese diner vibes, they nailed the interior! I also loved the holiday decor since it's almost Christmas.

Yelp
3.5/5 Make the reservation! We went on a Sunday at 10:45 for 3 people and ended up waiting for over an hour. It was so busy. The wait def soured the experience a bit. We ordered the hash browns, pancake, filet o shrimp, and big trouble breakfast sandwich. The hash browns were crispy and had a creamy potato inside but felt like it was lacking something. The shrimp burger was crispy but a bit too salty. The tartare sauce had a nice citrus flavour. In the big trouble breakfast sandwich, the eggs were nice and fluffy but the char siu glazed sausage tasted more like spam. The bread for both sandwiches was really good. But all in all not the best breakfast sandwich I've had in the city and I wouldn't be back for it. The winner was definitely the pancakes, it was so flavourful, soft on the inside and crispy on the edges. Maybe when the crowd dies down, I'll come back to try other dishes. The service was also good.

Yelp
Finally a spot that has shrimp burgers! Also got the kale salad to balance the burger but wish I got the hash browns and pancakes. For a seat at the bar right away. The shrimp burgers had a Chinese inspo, the Chinese crab claw from Chinese banquet as I was told by one of the owners, Need to come back for the onions rings, pancakes and hash browns as recommend by the team there.

Yelp
Waiting time: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 ‍Service: 5/5 Taste: 4.5/5 Pricing: 4/5 Overall: Wow I am so glad we were able to stop by this place! I was able to get an 11:45 AM reservation for a group of eight the night before, and we almost didn't make it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted right away and even had some small talk with I believe one of the owners?, which set a great tone for the visit. We'd heard a ton of hype from friends and online, so we tried to keep our expectations in check...but let's be real, they were pretty high. The best part about coming with a big group is getting to try so many dishes. we tried about half the menu! The breakfast sandwich and banana bread pudding were definite standouts for me. Our server was amazing, she knew we were visiting from out of town and took the time to share her favorite dinner items, even showing us the menu for next time. The only little hiccup was the confusion around our pancake order. Our intention was to order a full order of pancakes for our table, but the server misunderstood stood and only punched in one single pancake. When the pancake came out we clarified our order, and the server apologized and brought out another single pancake. Later when we looked at the bill, we were charged for two single pancakes ($9/each), versus one order of pancakes ($16 for two). We'll definitely be back the next time we're in Toronto though. Bonus points for the great bangers that they were playing too!

Yelp
Susie's, oh Susie's. What a DELIGHT. There's literally no better word to describe this incredible gem of a restaurant. From the fun playlist (Whitney Houston, yes!) to the gorgeous décor (New York subway chic)-- I was very impressed by the love and care that the owners have so clearly poured into this place. Let's talk food. I am not usually one for fusion, but Susie's does it so well. This nostalgic millennial was in hog heaven! I loved everything I ate, but the Filet-O-Shrimp was probably my absolute favorite. And the service? You can tell that the team at Susie's enjoys working together. Everyone was kind and attentive, and all of the servers made our family (especially the kids) feel welcome. I wish I lived closer because Susie's would definitely be in our regular dine-out rotation! Reservations open 2 weeks in advance and walk-ins are welcome at the bar.

Yelp
I remember walking by Susie's Rise & Dine months ago and marveling at the crowd standing outside. And indeed, when we returned this afternoon with a reservation, there were a couple of groups in front of us that were told the wait would be quite long. We were immediately shown to a cozy booth near the back and I began perusing the menu. Our server indicated that the Tuna Melt was a popular choice, so we went with that and The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich. The Tuna Melt ("japanese tartar sauce, malt vinegar pickled celery, sour cream & onion kettle chips, american cheese, served on griddled rye bread") showed up first and it's amazing. All the components work really well together and it's obviously been assembled with a lot of care. It's easily one of the best tuna melts I can remember eating, that's for sure. The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich ("soft scramble, char siu glazed sausage, crispy hash brown patty, cheese, scallion milk bun") arrived next and it's good but not quite as mind-blowing as the tuna melt. The individual components are all well above average but taken as a whole it's a bit disappointing. I got one or two bites of a very tasty sauce; had more of that been present, I think the concoction would've been a whole lot better (I.e. the sandwich is just lacking in flavor). (I should also note that both sandwiches suffered from the inclusion of American cheese, as it's such a distinct taste that is, for me, mostly a distraction. My dining companion didn't have any issues, so this could just be a me thing.) The service was great, and the old-school diner ambiance was fun. I'll definitely be returning.

Yelp
Enjoyed our meal. Great service, excellent interior, comfortable. Interesting and tasty take on pancakes.

Yelp
Definitely lives up to the hype for its fun, modern-diner vibe. The space is cozy, the menu is creative. * Pigs in blanket: was a little salty for me but the dip itself was very good. * Smoked salmon avocado toast: a new menu item they're testing. The butter had a nice citrus infusion. But the smoked salmon has strong flavour naturally so it ended up taking over the whole toast, even masking the butter. Overall it leaned a bit bland, and I wish it had more of a kick to balance things out. * Pancakes: absolutely worth the hype. Still thinking about that nice crispy edges with a soft, fluffy center along with the lemon zest and burnt honey maple syrup. * Hash browns: crispy, and super snackable. The service was amazing and very friendly, which made the whole experience even better. The pancakes alone make this spot one I'd happily come back to.

Yelp
First time at Susie's and I would definitely love to be back :) The food was delicious and new ish (never had brunch food with Asian twist before). The breakfast sandwich was delicious and would definitely recommend ordering that as it's their speciality!

Yelp
Newest Toronto diner located in Little Italy, serving diner classics with an Asian flair. This spot is so good that I've already been back twice within two months. Love the interior of this diner, it gives modern chic while still having that open kitchen concept diner feel. Servers here were friendly and attentive, while food here is even better. Here's what I'd recommend: Filet - O - Shrimp 5/5 - By far the best item on their menu imo. Comes with a crispy shrimp patty. tartar sauce, lettuce and cheese, sandwiched between a sesame milk bun. The texture and flavours of this sandwich was out of this world. Pancakes 5/5 - These pancakes are fluffy but has a crispy exterior. The lemon zest and burnt honey maple syrup really brings out the freshness and sweetness of these pancakes. Definitely an item to share with the table The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich 5/5 - This sandwich is layers and stacked high served between a soft scallion milk bun. It comes with scrambled eggs, char siu glazed sausage, crispy hash brown and cheese. The hash brown was the highlight of this sandwich since it gives it that delicious crisp. Tokyo Caesar Salad 5/5 - A twist on your classic caesar salad since it's made with miso sesame citrus dressing and topped with furikake and parm. Hash Browns 5/5 - Do not skip on this side of hash browns. Something about it is addicting, crisp, soft and tastes so fresh. Tuna Melt 5/5 - This took me by surprise and I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious sour cream and onion kettle chips that are found inside of this. It's a refreshing on their menu and another great to share item. Overall, this spot is a solid addition to the area. Don't forget to end your meal with their banana pudding, you won't regret it. Can't wait to come back for those hash browns and filet o shrimp sandwich!

Yelp
Got to the restaurant 15 mins before opening without a reservation and got seated right at open. Someone comes out, makes an announcement about the process and then seats people a party at a time. Once you're seated, they don't rush you, which is nice. The staff are super friendly and while I was waiting for my friend to get there, the girl at the counter engagement in conversation with me. We got coffee (only French press), the big trouble breakfast sandwich, jade garden salad, side of bacon, and two something healthy(ish) cocktails. I also got banana pudding to go. The cocktails were really good, like a green juice with tequila. The salad was also good. The breakfast sandwich was ok, I think it's missing something small that could really make it spectacular. Maybe a spicy aioli or something like that. The banana pudding was pretty great. In my opinion it's better than Rosie's. I'd go back and try other items on the menu

Yelp
Susie's Rise and Dine located in Little Italy along College St. near Euclid Ave is a new modern diner with an Asian twist. I've been hearing about Susie's all over my social media so I was excited to try it for the first time. The menu consists of sharables, breakfast items, and more lunch based items. The restaurant is only open during the day from 10am to 3pm and are closed Monday and Tuesday. I decided to dine at Susie's on a Wed morning. I arrived at the restaurant shortly after they opened. Upon entering the space, you are hit with a sense of nostalgia. I dined here solo and was asked if a seat at the bar would be okay (it was which I didn't mind!). The place was already half full with customers. Food wise, I opted to order the following items: - The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich (soft scramble, char siu sausage, crispy hashbrown patty, cheese, scallion milk bun) - Tokyo caesar salad (miso sesame citrus dressing, furikake parmesan) - Coffee (French press) The Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich was tasty! The crispy hashbrown patty create a great textural contrast in comparison to the soft scramble, sausage, and milk bun. The char siu sausage kind of tasted like spam and the milk bun held the sandwich together. It's a heavy sandwich and I wonder if a runny egg would make the sandwich even better. The caesar was unique with familiar flavours. The dressing tasted heavy after a while. I wish the salads came in half portions for solo diners - it was a lot I couldn't finish it (so I did pack it home). Coffee was average, nothing to rave about. Service wise, there was a lot of staff on hand to serve customers (which is great when it gets busy!). Service was good but to me it felt suffocating at times - I didn't need 4 people coming over to me asking me every other bite how my food was or how the sandwich was. I just wanted to have some space to enjoy my food without interruption, despite the staffs' intentions to provide good service - there needs to be a balance (especially since I was sitting by the bar and open kitchen). I also met one of the co-owners I believe (Michael) and he made some small talk with me which was nice. Overall, a unique modern diner with an Asian twist. The portions of the dishes are filling and the foods can be heavy at times so it is best to come with people to share (regardless I'll still come alone from time to time!). I've heard good things about the pancakes so next time I will come try them!

Yelp
Me and my friend came here for brunch it was very busy hence why we made a reservation in advance to avoid wait times. Staff were so kind in greeting us upon arival, the owners seated us quickly after we arrived. The place is clean and tables are turned over quickly the food was HOT and everything tasted so good the menu was well thought out and everything blended well together. Will be back I've also heard they have implanted a dinner menu and I will be trying it

Yelp
Susie's is a cozy diner serving breakfast and comfort food with an Asian twist =) I dined in on their third day since their opening and I already want to go back again! Food: What hooked me to go here was the breakfast sandwich - one of my fave foods. Their Big Trouble Breakfast Sandwich has a char siu glazed sausage patty. Side note: I grew up eating char siu often and it has never been my favourite Chinese bbq item prolly because of the flavour notes from the Chinese five spice. The char siu glaze was not overpowering on the sausage patty, I surprisingly enjoyed every bite of it. The hash brown inside was thin and extra crispy. The Filet-o-Shrimp sandwich was so shrimpy and delicious, the sesame seeds on the milk bun added an extra dimension to the sandwich. Susie's tartar sauce that accompanied the sandwich was made just right, not too tangy. Other dishes recommended by the staff: pancakes (they said it may be the best in the city) and the banana pudding. I may have forgotten some others mentioned but everything on the menu sounds delicious though. Service/ambience: The colour theme is quite unique to me with the deep teal and beige. It's a well lit diner with all the retro vibes from the interior tiles to the chairs. There are tables for groups of 2, 4, 6, and 8. If you come in solo, there is the bar area. The energy I felt from the staff was warm, welcoming and they gave great customer service. The washrooms are down a set of stairs. I highly recommend booking a reservation here!
google avatar

Celia Z.

Yelp
I still dream about their onion rings. Best onions I've ever had! We made a reservation for brunch as I saw a line well before it opened. The retro diner vibe was very cute. We ordered the green juice cocktail, the filet o shrimp, breakfast sandwich, and the onion rings. I would say the filet o shrimp is exactly what it sounds like. It was really good but not sure if I would seek it out. The breakfast sandwich on the milk bun was great with the crispy potato inside. I would recommend this place to others and superficially get the onion rings every time!
google avatar

Jocelyn Y.

Yelp
Amazing! Was definitely skeptical of the hype as it's typical of Toronto but would definitely say it lives up to it. The food was delicious, I enjoyed all 3 dishes we ordered (shrimp burger, breakfast sandwich, and Caesar salad). The staff were very attentive and kind. Ambiance was exactly diner like. Loved it!
google avatar

Alexa J.

Yelp
Great new brunch spot! Their pancakes were 10/10, so simple but so good. I love the crunchy exterior and soft buttery middle. I added the berry compote but honestly could have done without it since it was already so good on its own. The breakfast sandwich was also one of the best I've had, the hashbrown gave it the perfect crunch and just overall a solid breakfast sandwich I will definitely be coming back for. The only thing that I didn't love was the general tao's buffalo wings - nothing extraordinary about it and honestly just tasted like regular buffalo wings, and was also too hard. Banana pudding was tasty, but wish it had more breading. Overall, such a cute diner aesthetic and staff were super friendly. Definitely recommend to come early as they do get quite the line!
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
This place always gets busy, but the benefit is you can make a reservation for brunch. It's a great diner. Very reasonable prices and the food is delicious. I really loved the crispy onion rings with five spices. They know how to deep fry well and the flavor was so creative. The big trouble sandwich was tasty, a must try. The fillet O shrimp is a unique offering but it was far too salty for me, I couldn't even finish it which is why I didn't give this place five stars
google avatar

Shelby S.

Yelp
Service can really make or break a customer experience and unfortunately Susie's missed the mark. We had a reservation for 1:15pm and we didn't receive food until almost 2pm. My partner was getting quite frustrated and wanted to leave because all of the tables around us even some seated after us got their food before us. The server was kind however we felt neglected as a table, seeing everyone get service and foods before us. I wouldn't say it's very family friendly either because the music is quite loud and hard to have conversations at the table. Regarding the food it was tasty but quite heavy and greasy. If I ever went back which my partner and I won't be the thing I would recommend was the pancakes. Service is huge for us and it put a bad taste in our mouth.
google avatar

Chloe C.

Yelp
Got breakfast sandwich and a single pancake as a treat! Both were really delicious. Breakfast sandwich had a nice balance of flavours with the sweet sauce in the sausage, and crunch hash brown to add some texture. Pancakes were so good too with the lemon zest, crisp interior and fluffy centre. Would recommend making a reservation as I know they get busy quick!
google avatar

Sam K.

Yelp
Best brunch experience in a long time. We went for our 9th wedding anniversary and it was a great time. The service was so above and beyond; they even ask how toasted you like your bread. Every dish slapped. We cannot wait to go back. Favs: Cesar salad, pancakes, but every dish was incredible.
google avatar

Lisanne W.

Yelp
Awesome little find, staff is amazing and food was delish! Highly recommend but reserve ahead if you can it's popular and busy.
google avatar

Allan R.

Yelp
Pancakes were great, as promised. Breakfast sandwich was a tad greasy because of the deep-fried hash brown. Main issue we had was that food for each diner was not tined to come out together. My friend had completely finished his meal by the time mine came out. No excuse for this.
google avatar

Doreen L.

Yelp
Great modern diner. There were 6 of us excited to try new diner in Little Italy in Toronto. Was great to share the plates family style to get a good variety of tastes. We had the pancakes (super yummy with fruit compote), Mapo frito pie (my fave), chicken wings, cheese burger royals (thick and juicy with perfect bun/patty ratio), Tuna melt (generous tuna filling and sour cream and onion chips in and out), Breakfast sandwich (scallion milk bun is perfect), Bodega chopped cheese (tender beef slices and red pepper relish) finishing with banana pudding (so delish must try) and apple hand pie ( served warm and very yummy). Service excellent, very attentive and friendly. Decor is classic diner style and clean bathrooms! Loved the vibe and would definitely recommend!

Daniel G.

Yelp
Staff sells you very hard and tells you the food is amazing; for me, it was more style than substance. The pancakes were yummy but came out long before my sausages (dry) and then eggs. My partner's breakfast sandwich (meh!) came out well after I was completely done. Server said "It's such a small kitchen, there's nothing we can do about that". Credit card machine suggests a minumum tip of 20%, and that's obnoxious.
