Great place to stay! We stayed here for 8 days, with no advance booking at all (because of a misunderstanding with another hotel). They managed to squeeze us in, even though it was during high season (Christmas), which we were very grateful for.
Nice, clean and cozy lodges with great housekeeping. Water in the shower/tap is slightly salty, but you can't drink it anyway, and it's the same all over Zanzibar.
The restaurant is nice with great sea food, even though the service was quite slow (and somewhat erratic). The staff was friendly and the mistakes were only minor, so we never found it to be an issue, more like "Hey, it's Africa".
Good to know is that there is not much to do outside of the hotel, except swim in the ocean. There are no restaurants around, and we didn't visit any other hotels in the area (it was quite far to walk). The recommendation we got was that we shouldn't leave the hotel by ourselves, without security accompanying us. This can be quite limiting, which is too bad. But as I understand it, it's the same everywhere (at least on the south side of Zanzibar).
We also went on a dolphin trip and out to the amazing sand bank for snorkling and lunch. We met a guy named Hamid (or Hamit) from the Kizimkazi Muzungi village on the beach (they constantly try to offer you trips, etc, every time you're down there) and he was great! He really took care of us and it couldn't have been better. I recommend asking for him!
