"This 1937 diner car was disassembled, moved to its current location in the heart of Larkin Square, and fully restored before opening in 2017. Today, it looks just as it did 80 years ago—from the mahogany trim and barrel-vaulted ceiling to the original bar stools and glass-topped counter—with an appropriately nostalgic menu to match. Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Swan Street serves simple breakfast and lunch fare. Head over in the morning for the breakfast poutine with home fries, cheese curd, sausage gravy, and over-easy eggs, or stop by at lunch for a burger or classic tuna melt."

Pretty good food! I might've been a little over hyped. The doughnuts and French toast were definitely top tier! Chicken salad sandwich was sub par but everything was definitely made with care. The service was impeccable!

Google
Beautifully maintained classic diner with a great story. Friendly and attentive staff and excellent breakfast and lunch options. Highly recommend the Hash, outstanding! Service by Tess made the whole experience better. Six Stars!!!

Google
Cozy and cute restaurant. The food was delicious. However it smelled horrible in the building. The smell hits you in the face hard ( I describe it as a stale urine and bathroom chemical odor) however the bathroom didn't have the odor and was very clean. The male waiter we had rubbed me the wrong way. I felt like we were inconveniencing him by asking questions and not ordering fast enough.

Google
Old school diner experience. Delicious breakfast egg, cheese and bacon sandwich. Small parking lot. Text notification when your table is ready.

Google
Delicious breakfast. I normally dont eat potatoes with breakfast but these home fries had great flavor, were perfectly seasoned and cooked the way I like them; a little well done/crispy. Great place. Fantastic service and CLEAN!!! It's about 10 miles from my house but worth the trip. I'll definitely eat here again. Maybe try lunch next time. Sandwiches looked great!

Google
Highly recommend delicious food with wonderful presentations. Service with a smile from the moment you enter the door. If there were 10 stars, I would gladly give them to you. Thank you for a wonderful first experience.

Google
I loved everything about this diner. Really good food, absolutely amazing server. Got seated in a few minutes. Food came out fast and tasted amazing. And we got the checked almost as soon as we asked for it - and it got processed fast as well. Will definitely be back! Only issue is it was super crowded (Sunday, noon) and congested. Seat and the table was small. And portion size of the $4 orange juice was too small for the price.

This place was well worth the wait! Came in for the Bills game and was recommended this place from a former local. Waited about 45 minutes on a sunday, but the wait was worth it. Wonderful service and staff, very friendly. We got eggs benny, corned beef hash, and pancakes + assorted mini donuts. My husband got a milkshake, which was amazing also. Anytime we are in Buffalo this will be a go to! 11/10.

Yelp
THEY ARE STILL NUMBER 1! Best diner in Larkin and the surrounding areas. Consistent food menu. GET THE MINI DONUTS. They are the nicest people to have serve you. It's a true old school diner setup with booths and a small bar/counter area. Very causal. Very accepting. My go tos are the House Hash, Mexican Omelet, the jerk avacado sandwich, and any Milkshake or Mimosa. Now that I'm making this post I may have to go for breakfast.

Yelp
Vibe - loud, fast moving diner vibes but also, CUTE! Food - I've been several times and the food is always fresh and delicious. Service - quick and efficient, like this review! Hot tip: order a grapefruit mimosa (fresh grapefruit juice makes this extra yummy!)

Yelp
This place is a modern classic. The diner is a railroad car turned diner, complete with railroad decor. I went for breakfast and had a waffle and side of bacon. It was too much to eat, even with a big appetite. Delicious breakfast fare. The service was typical diner--friendly and prompt. Swan Street has a good thing going, not trying to be fancy or overpriced, just good food and service in a fun atmosphere. I highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Man what an amazing place! Finally got a chance to try the local favorite swan street diner and was not disappointed! The donuts ads amazing and live to to the hype definitely need to try them all. We also tried and split the BBQ meatloaf sandwich and their eggs Benedict and everything was great especially the meatloaf sandwich. Staff was great and prices weren't bad too! They are only open until like 3 each day so breakfast and lunch it is. They've got parking in the rear of the building and there is also street parking available.

Yelp
I was on a date which is why there are no pics of the food. Believe me it pained me not to take pics. I had a delicious portabella bacon omlette and he had corned beef hash with eggs and they both looked scrumptious. Very good food, good coffee. Just a little bit of an aggressive ending when they kicked us out because they wanted the table. I am very aware of when I'm overstaying and we really weren't there that long. Overall good service it was just a lil mucho at the end.

Yelp
FAST SERVICE! Everyone was vary friendly and the food was excellent. I got the smothered burrito and my bride got a classic sausage egg and cheese sandwich. *chefs kiss* Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a good breakfast/lunch spot. Noise level was a little loud, but for an old buck like myself, it made me feel like I was in my twenties again. Would highly recommend !

Yelp
Swan Street is a staple in Buffalo. Located in Larkinville in an old dining car this place has that nostalgic diner feel. Service is always top notch. The same waitresses have been there for years which tells you something. If we are anywhere close to the city we choose here for breakfast. The homemade corn beef hash is amazing! I typically get the Breakfast Tacos #2 with corn beef hash. They are so good I finished before I could grab a picture.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is a real JEWEL! Such amazing people, fantastic food, and a throwback vibe to a bygone era! The gravy and biscuits are made fresh every day! The old diner feel was spot on! Highly recommend this as your next breakfast spot!!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places in Buffalo!! The diner is so cute and exactly what you picture when you think of American diners. It's just like the movies!! The staff here are so cool and kind. The service is prompt too! The service was amazing, the vibe was immaculate, and the food was just as good! I got the breakfast taco #2 and the donuts. Both items were so delicious. The tacos came with perfectly fermented radishes and the tacos were pretty well balanced in terms of what was in them (not too much meat vs vegetables, etc). The tacos were filling but not too much. The donuts were so yummy! We got the assortment and we ate them right as they came out. I hate to be super cheesy but the warm donuts with the coffee really were hitting. This is a must do in Buffalo!!

Yelp
I came by on a Monday morning shortly after they open at 7:00. This is a real old fashioned Diner, built in 1937, and refurbished. I ordered eggs over easy, with bacon, home fries, and sourdough toast. The sourdough toast option is something you don't see everywhere. I sat at the counter. My server was quick and efficient. I would like to stop again for lunch when I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
Swan Street Diner is definitely in our top five favorite breakfast spots in Buffalo! First of all, I have always loved the vibes here. That classic train car and mom-and-pop type of diner feeling is definitely what you'll find here. The space is small, but for what they lack in size they ABSOLUTELY make up for in food quality, and I mean, half of the time when we come for breakfast there are groups of people in the waiting area. They know what they're about, son. Swan Street has a small breakfast and lunch menu - but they have the standard breakfast staples, plus some fun "modern" dishes that they nail every. Single. Time. Coffee, tea, milkshakes, and mimosas?! Hello, this place is a dream. My go-to is usually a western omelette, but I've dabbled in the breakfast tacos and their house-made waffles (did I mention they also have VEGAN dishes??) - and I've literally never been disappointed. I highly recommend coming here on a weekday, and coming EARLY, if possible, because this place gets so busy. But y'know, usually the busiest places have the best food, so huge kudos to the team here for always knocking it out of the ballpark with breakfast!

Yelp
I came here with my fiancé while visiting Buffalo for a wedding and I can totally see why this place is a top breakfast spot! We came at 9am on a Saturday and as soon as we walked in the door, so did 5 other groups. Thankfully we only had to wait about 10 minutes before getting a cute table right by the door. I got the brunch burger which was the perfect greasy, hearty, hungover breakfast meal I needed after a late night. My fiancé got the biscuits and gravy which was also delicious. The real winner, however, was the mini donuts! They are freshly fried and taste similar to a funnel cake. We got the classic glazed, cinnamon and powdered sugar. I could have eaten dozens of these donuts alone. 10/10 breakfast spot!

Yelp
Clean, friendly and great food. Extensive menu and not far from the interstate.... Always a fun time and I can't go without mentioning how great the gingerbread glazed donut was. Shout out to Pat! Keep up the great work place is awesome!

Yelp
Swan street is still amazing as usual just wanted to show a pic of this sausage gravy !! This is the whole reason I initially came to Swan Street !! Still amazing, service always on point and this little Diner is always full of light and good vibes !! Get here soon !!

Yelp
This was our second time here. Food is hot and fresh. Service is friendly and quick. Everything you could want in a diner. And it's definitely photo worthy and cozy. Love the hooks for coats and the moveable tables so my hubs and I could sit on the same side of the booth.
google avatar

L M.

Yelp
First time here for breakfast today. Seated quickly. Great coffee to start. Waitress was friendly and checked on us. Great coffee to start. Food came out in reasonable time. Food was hot and delish. Crispy bacon and home fries were good. My husband had barbecue meatloaf sandwich and loved it. Definitely will be back!!

Jamie V.

Yelp
Best French toast we've ever had. Food took a tad bit longer than you'd expect for a diner, but it was all delicious. Loved the atmosphere and friendly servers.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our breakfast at Swan Street Diner. The restored diner car and decor is really unique. There was a fellow patron who's truck was stolen right out front of the restaurant (8AM in broad daylight) so our order took a little longer to get to us, but they made up for it with free mini donuts that were so good. Great find in Buffalo.
google avatar

Doug L.

Yelp
The best breakfast and experience I have had in years. I will go into details but the bottom line is if you haven't been there you need to go Service was outstanding. Attentive. Good sense of humor. Helpful The food was amazing. I got pancakes that were so good but those That went with me, love it too. The pancakes even came with real New York maple syrup The history of the diner is interesting. As are the surroundings. Get there soon

Yelp
Back again and to no surprise, still as 5 out of 5 star as they come! Ordered the smothered burrito this time and the flavor was absurd. So much fresh vegetables and a wonderful mix of queso and verde salsa. Will be hard not to get this again the next time we go but just want to keep trying new things on the menu.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute little diner with servers who actually seem happy to be at work. It's such a difference when you have a great attitude when working. Everything I have tried has been awesome and the fries are sooooo good. I look forward to going to the office just so I can eat at the diner for lunch.
google avatar

Yelp
I lived in Buffalo my whole life. Never knew this place existed. My son asked to go to breakfast and took me here. Wow! that's all I have to say. Eggs Benedict was amazing. Highly recommend. As a coffee drinker. It was hot and very fresh. The inside is very comfortable and clean. Great service also. If you get a chance scope it out.
google avatar

Angelita G.

Yelp
I absolutely love the place. Love the old school diner vibes. This place is always busy. I have only been for breakfast, and the food is amazing.
google avatar

Eddie M.

Yelp
It's busy and you wait for a reason. We had the Eggs Benedict, Hash with 2 eggs sunny side up, split a pancake, coffee, toast, and jam. We waited 45 minutes for the table, and the place is so clean, the food so good, and the people so friendly I would do it again this afternoon! We haven't done a ton of exploring Buffalo breakfast places, but we've been around and to my mind this place is tops!
google avatar

Erika S.

Yelp
I passed this place on my way home and decided to stop in. So happy that I did!! The place is small and has a retro diner vibe. I sat at the counter and was immediately greeted by a super friendly host. There's a full menus of breakfast options and sandwiches. They offer milkshakes and floats. I'm looking forward to trying one of those my next visit. Although they were busy, my food still arrived in about 10 minutes. Everything was great and I highly recommend! They do not take reservations, so be prepared to wait.
google avatar

Yelp
Stoped over here for late lunch after an event close to Larkinville. Cute dinner, love the vibe that the decor and design create. The service was fast, we sat at the counter as it was busy and didn't want to wait for a table. My mom got a cup of tomato soup and BLT. She enjoyed both, said the soup was nice and creamy. She did have too much food and said she maybe would just get soup and a small side next time. I had the burger and added fries instead of chips. Burger was tasty, although it was more medium well than the medium I asked for. But overall a good meal and we would return if hanging out down that way. I thought briefly about getting a milk shake as it has been ages since I got one with a burger when I was out, but I just couldn't justify spending $8 for a milk shake.
google avatar

Korianne L.

Yelp
Whenever we have out of town guests we take them to this spot. We always get the assorted donuts to start, they taste so fresh. Our favorite is consistently the glazed. If you get toast make sure to ask for a side of jam, it's homemade!!
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
Great option for breakfast or lunch. The smothered burrito was excellent and enormous. It could have been 2 meals. I asked for extra salsa verde which was also delicious. Coffee was just ok. Friendly and prompt service. It's a small place so you will wait at peak times but you'll get a text when your seats are ready. They have their own parking lot in the back.

Yelp
If you go here, go on a week day when its not so packed. My Faince and I used to meet up for morning dates here. the orange juice was fresh and delicious and the donuts are clearly fresh and hand made and amazing. but nothing... and i mean NOTHING compares to their corned beef hash.... and i'm Irish. it is the BEST corned beef hash i've ever had. the Coffee is meh and could use an upgrade. but otherwise.... i highly recommend this spot for breakfast.

Susan B.

Yelp
Great diner. Enjoyed the corned beef hash and my friend had a Greek omelet which she enjoyed as well. The server although competent seemed a bit abrupt/snippy. Perhaps she had a bad morning? The cream had a fruit fly floating on top. Not a big deal but when I asked her for another pitcher of cream, she corrected me saying it was coffee grounds. Last time I checked, coffee grounds don't have wings. I didn't push the matter as I think she felt the need to be right. I didn't let her attitude ruin my day and still left a 20% tip; I hope she was just having an off day and considers treating customers without an attitude in the future..

Yelp
Made a trip to Buffalo this summer to see friends and was delighted to stop at this spot for brunch! We were seated right away and really enjoyed the old-school, vintage vibe within the diner. Staff who greeted us were helpful, friendly and moved quickly. Each of our orders came out perfect -- breakfast tacos, chicken sandwich and mini donuts. Food was absolutely delicious and unique in its own way. We never felt rushed or moved along too quickly, even when there were several people waiting to sit down to eat. The menu had a wide variety of offerings including your classic breakfast items, vegan options and sandwiches and entrees that you might not see at other spots (Falafel wrap, Tempeh BLT).
google avatar

Rita J.

Yelp
Loved my early morning visit, no wait. Very pleasant and attentive staff. Many items to choose from. I landed on biscuits with sausage gravy and 2 over easy eggs. Super flavorful and perfectly cooked. I had to try a pancake as well, glad I did! Crisp edges and buttery tasting. The coffee was also great! It's cozy and not to big inside and started filling up while I was there. I can see how a wait would be normal as the day goes on. Completely worth it!

Yelp
We stopped at Swan Street Diner on our way to Canada last weekend. From the outside, this diner is so cute. Once you walk in, it's like stepping back in time a little bit. We arrived around 11:30 am and we were seated right away. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my date ordered the smothered burrito. We also ordered a side pancake to split because I wanted to try some NY maple syrup. Lol okay so without being dramatic, this was the best eggs Benedict I've ever had. The hollandaise is made in house and you can tell. I tried the smothered burrito and it was delicious as well! The pancake was thick and fluffy and the syrup added a nice sweetness to it. The decor was fun to look at too. The service was also good too! I would definitely come back the next time I'm in Buffalo!
google avatar

Shirin P.

Yelp
Very cute dining room/wagon. Be prepared to wait but it's worth it. Food was really good. The donuts were ok, nothing to go crazy for but good desert to finish off the meal with. Will go back if we are in town again
google avatar

TJ S.

Yelp
Pancakes were good, service was great and atmosphere perfect. If I lived in the area I would be back
google avatar

Yelp
Always hits, brunch special Arepa was awesome and fresh with the best homie fries. Always a bit of a wait but worth it, just put your name in and check it out.
google avatar

Yelp
First time for lunch here, we usually do breakfast. It did not disappoint. The service was lovely the food took a minute but just because we came in with a crowd. I got the Ruben and it was delicious and subbed fries for chips they were really good. Definitely recommend lunch here.
google avatar

Maria G.

Yelp
It was cute. I stopped with a friend for breakfast. She had pancakes and bacon, and I ordered the French toast and bacon and we had a cup of coffee. I wasn't super fond of the French toast, cause it was very, very sweet - it was extra artificially sweet but the bacon was delicious. I have to say it was pretty pricey though for the two of us it was $46!! it was also a Sunday so it was busy and we were asked to leave at the hour mark. I get it to make room for more customers, but the lady could've asked a little nicer. She basically just told us to leave because it was an hour wait. we didn't mean to take up extra time. We just hadn't seen each other in a while and we're enjoying good company.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
Before an aéroport drop-off, we stopped at Swan Street for lunch. The food was tasty by all accounts and we enjoyed the experience. I love diner food and the atmosphere that comes along with it. We were there near the end of the day and some seemed in a rush; I wish the service would have been a bit friendlier/attentive, but I digress.
google avatar

Melanie R.

Yelp
This place is so good. There's usually a wait, but that's also usually a sign that it's not to be missed. There are some great vegan options and everything I've had at Swan Street has always been great.
google avatar

Jessica L.

Yelp
We loved this adorable little diner. The food and service were great. It can get a bit loud though. The French toast is thick and even the 10yr old pronounced it excellent. Get the yogurt - the banana split was yummy. This place has a great fruit bowl - something we can't say about most restaurants. Good coffee.
google avatar

Daisy J.

Yelp
Swan street never disappoints. My partner is from Canada and this is easily one of our favorite spots to eat in the city. It's no surprise that the place is always packed. I find myself always singing along to the music so whoever has the aux cord to the place, thank you! Haha This place also has done of the best strawberries we've had. So much so we asked to buy a bunch but they denied our offer lol. I can't wait to come back
google avatar

Darrell C.

Yelp
I love diners and diner food. This diner was cute but not your average NY type diner. Breakfast Omelette was ok, but not great. Service was good, other waitress' were more attentive than the one serving me by myself. Not the phenomenal experience I've come to expect from NY diners, but not terrible either.
google avatar

Colleen O.

Yelp
Wow ! I was shocked to find I have yet to review this diner that is a staple in the Larkinville area. I chose to bring my friend that was visiting from Nebraska because of their ambience and the high quality of their food . We both chose omelettes (the French omelette for me , the portobello, bacon and Swiss for her ) . She splurged and got an Apple cider mimosa and I just got some coffee . Their china is what you would expect from a diner , they have the best coffee cups with their logo on them . The service is friendly and hip . It is cozy and snug in the restaurant , but what else would you expect in a diner bus atmosphere . Usually you can expect a wait, but at 10am I was able to be seated right away . The food was top notch , my friend was very impressed . She mentioned her omelette was the best she ever had . I am a firm believer that their home fries are cooked perfectly and many other diners need to take note . I wish I got some food pics , but I was too focused on enjoying every bite . So , if you want to impress your out of town guests , take them to this place . I guarantee smiles and full stomachs !

Yelp
Even though I moved to Buffalo over a decade ago, I've never made it to the famous Swan Street Diner. This weekend, we decided to make that happen. As expected, this place was busy on a Sunday morning and there was a line. That being said, the staff did a phenomenal job managing the crowd, cleaning up tables, and making sure all operations were efficient. There are a lot of restaurants who could learn from this crew. There was also a waiting area indoors where we would stand and wait, which we chose to do. This made out 20 minute wait not seem long at all. Upon getting seated, we ordered out breakfast and it came out quick. Being a very famous establishment, I didn't expect the breakfast to be phenomenal. I was wrong. I was fond of the potato hash, which was crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. The staff member pouring coffee also did a great job making sure we got our refills. Honestly, there are many times when I am sitting there with an empty cup while waiting for the coffee refills, especially since my main draw for diner breakfast is the coffee. Once we finished out breakfast, the waitress came over, gave us to go boxes, we paid, and left. This is the first time I've ever left a 5 star rating for a breakfast, mainly due to how efficient the staff was. We had initially visited for the historic cabin car this diner is located in, which is also pretty awesome to see.
google avatar

Tad D.

Yelp
Some of the best homemade corned beef hash you're ever going to have. Easily top five across the USA. Really fresh and tasty. Otherwise there is a really nice team, hot coffee, and a very clean 100+ year old diner restaurant. This is located in a really neat revitalized historic district and it's very clean around here. The food came out fast and the waitresses were very kind and prompt.
google avatar

Brian G.

Yelp
My wife and I had to stop here! When this diner was in Newark, New York, she went there as a young child, and drink out of her very first straw there. Fast forward 40+ years later, and she remembered this restaurant when we were looking places up on yelp. It was a weekday early afternoon, and the weight was about 40 minutes. We were more than anxious and willing to wait and were pleasantly surprised when we were called 15 minutes later. The proprietor was very welcoming. We were very happy with her food choices, and the very fast service. The wait staff were hustling the entire time.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed a fantastic omelet for breakfast at Swan Street Diner and my Mom had French toast that looked amazing (she said that it was delicious too!). I am gluten free and they were very accommodating - gluten free bread is available and they will grill it instead of toasting it to avoid cross contamination. Our server was very knowledgeable and, added bonus, no additional charge for gluten free bread!! Such a cute place in a converted train car with a fun, upbeat vibe!

Anne G.

Yelp
Great food and mimosas. Service was incredible. Great vibe and bathroom was clean. Price is appropriate. Would return.
