Swan Villas - Placencia, Belize Vacation Rentals

We loved our stay and look forward to returning later this year. I will echo some of the other comments. The design, the grounds, and the pool are incredible. While we didn't take the available kayaks out on the lagoon, we look forward to taking them out on our next visit. The property manager (sorry, I am bad with recalling names, maybe Marisa?) was absolutely incredible. She suggested restaurants, arranged tours, and was just a pleasure to talk to. The comments about some of the local "inhabitants" sneaking into the room is not fundamentally false BUT maybe misrepresented. We never found it to be problematic and somewhat consistent when and wherever we travel in this part of the world. I think it adds a bit of charm to the stay. Clean up after yourself and ants won't be a problem. If you happen to hear a gecko, well maybe they appreciate your company and are trying to serenade you with their song. So, to sum it up...I have been to Placencia several times and I really love this location as it is a bit out of town. If you are looking for a five-star resort, this place will not fulfill that desire. But if you are looking for a charming, reasonably priced, and non-guest house, this place, will exceed your expectations. Highly recommend.

We had an unforgettable time at the Alterhome Swan Villas! The location is central, making it easy to explore, and the staff were super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. But let's talk about the villa – it was insanely cool. The architecture is funky and unique, unlike anything we've ever seen before. It’s one of those places where you walk in and immediately know there’s no other like it!||||The design was not only creative but also incredibly practical. The bedroom had tons of storage space, including shelves and baskets, which made it easy to keep things organized. We were particularly impressed by the shower—it had a ceiling-mounted head and live plants hanging from above, making the whole experience feel like a spa retreat. Honestly, every inch of the home seemed to be thoughtfully crafted with comfort in mind.||||Plus, we had access to plenty of extra linens and blankets in the laundry room, which was a nice touch. Just a heads-up—bring your own laundry soap!||||A Few Small Things to Note:||There was a faint musty smell that we thought might have been coming from the hot tub (it doesn’t have a cover), but we were able to mitigate it by covering a drain hole in the living room with a book, which seemed to help. Also, while we loved the firmness of the bed, the pillows could have been a bit more comfortable for a perfect night’s sleep.||||Overall, this place exceeded our expectations, and we'd definitely come back. It’s a truly unique and stylish retreat that’s hard to beat!

The design and style of this place are genuinely appreciated, it stands out from the typical, predictable accommodations. The aesthetic choices are thoughtful, and the staff is responsive. A big plus for travelers is the on-site laundry, and the kitchen utensils provided were clean and of good quality. The stone sink looks stylish, but it’s not very practical for dishwashing. The stone spout has sharp edges, which could easily cause scrapes or cuts. Unfortunately, comfort is a major issue here. The windows are unsealed and left open, allowing insects and even large roaches to enter freely especially at night when lights attract bugs. It's unsettling to find insects falling onto the bed and pillows. While the large windows add to the room’s visual appeal, they lack any kind of shade or curtain. If you're not an early riser, be prepared to wake up with the sunrise around 5am. Additionally, the internet is inconsistent and slow, which could be frustrating.

Outstandingly unique and a superb value for such an unusual and fun spot. Truly loved the fantastical hobit house feel, the living shower, and the jacuzzi in the middle of the living area. Grounds were beautiful and windows thoughtfully face the fantastic inland sea view with mountains in the distance. Pool & grounds was lovely and clean and nothing felt crowded. My visit was too short to enjoy kayaking the area but the value on this stay was fantastic and i hope to return.

A truly beautiful property! Amazingly designed and built but my only complaint is the bed and pillows are quite uncomfortable. Same with the couch. By the end of our stay we were looking forward to the next place just so we could get a better sleep. Has to be my only complaint though, the pool and surroundings are gorgeous and the property manager Miriam is simply the best! Honestly if it wasn't for her I might review it at 3 stars but she was so great and made sure we were as happy as wecould be!

My wife and I enjoyed our 5-night stay at Swann Villa. The villa’s design is fantastic—modern, clean, and well-maintained. All essential amenities were provided. However, don’t get too excited about the jacuzzi—it’s not a hot tub. That wasn’t an issue for us, as it wasn’t advertised as one. Everything matched the description on the website. The villa is in a very secure and quiet location, offering plenty of privacy. Most of the other guests were couples, which aligns with the villa’s design. The manager was very friendly and helpful, assisting us with local activities, rentals, and other needs. For these reasons, we give it 5 stars. That said, there were a few drawbacks. The bed was fancy, but the pillows weren’t great. A good pillow is key to a good night’s sleep—sometimes even more than the bed itself! Additionally, basic amenities like coffee, salt, and pepper were missing. There were some forks or spoons, and plastic drinking glasses were provided. Because of these minor inconveniences, we’re deducting one star. :)

A bizar experience from the start, entering the area you immediately feel the Gaudi-sphere. The villa was really amazing, felt like a celebrity.|From the pool we watched the sundown every night.|The location is central too, as a base to visit all good places in Belize we found is top off the bill!||Please be kind to Ms. White, the black cat who makes sure you have a safe and pleasant stay ;-)

Absolutely gorgeous property with live vertical gardens inside & out. Architectural masterpiece and unique ideas brought to real world! This place has no access to the beach, prepare for daily trips for food, beach and activities. Customer service was great, provided all needed to feel like home away from home. Thanks, Miriam!
