We stayed here for my mothers birthday for 2 nights. The restaurant staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The reception staff less so. When you arrive the entrance is through a long-ish neglected walkway and then you reach the cottages with a sign telling you which direction the reception is. We walked to the reception and weren’t very warmly greeted despite some good initial communication over WhatsApp. We checked in and went to our room which was nice, but a little tired. The floorboard is going to cave in soon if someone stands right on it and the bathroom door is ridiculously squeaky that if you need to get up in the night to go to the toilet, you’ll wake all of your fellow travellers up. We thought the room was smaller than what it appears online, but sufficient for a short stay. ||It was lovely hearing the cicadas, and also lovely that there were frogs and other wildlife about. The only thing we didn’t like was that the cats were in the dining area cleaning themselves and coughing up furballs right on the sofa of our table…the cats shouldn’t be allowed in the dining area it is very unsanitary and not nice to have a cat doing that next to you whilst you’re trying to enjoy breakfast. ||The water in the room is very old…the big water tank was nearly empty and it tasted quite fousty. So perhaps they should replace the water tanks more frequently as we didn’t end up using it during our stay after we tried it, and unfortunately we had to buy bottled water elsewhere instead. ||The restaurant menu is lovely, I could have tried everything on it that was vegetarian. However, breakfast is very small. You get 2 tiny tapas plates which is just not sufficient. An average person needs at least 3 of the sized dishes for it to be an adequately sized breakfast. The juices were okay, nothing special and the coffee was nice. We also ate there for dinner on one night which again was okay, but nothing special. We certainly expected more from the food. ||They knew it was my mothers birthday so they arranged a complimentary flower arrangement and also a vegan bounty bar for her at breakfast which was such a lovely touch and really nice of them to arrange. ||All in all, we unfortunately wouldn’t stay here again. The place is a little tired/in need of some TLC and the food just wasn’t to the standard we were all expecting.

I want to start by saying that the staff here was amazing—especially Anik, who brought a special energy that truly lit up the place. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless you’re staying there specifically to attend a retreat happening on-site. That was my case, and it was definitely convenient since I didn’t have to commute—especially on days when it was pouring rain. However, at least in my room, everything felt extremely neglected and outdated. Everything was stained: the sheets, the towels, even the curtains. It just wasn’t pleasant to spend time in the room. The walls need a fresh coat of paint, and the furniture could really use an update. They also provide a water filter so you have drinkable water at all times—but the water always came out with little particulates of who-knows-what floating in it. I never felt safe drinking it and ended up avoiding it altogether. To be fair, I never raised any of these issues with the staff, so I can’t speak to how they would have handled them. I know it’s a 3-star hotel, so I tried to keep my expectations realistic. However, overall, I think for the price, you could probably find a place in better condition—at least when it comes to the rooms. On a positive note, the restaurant was good!

Swasti staff are the nicest! They make effort to remember your name and are just so sweet and generous of heart. The heart & soul of this place is very deep. The staff work hard to take care of your needs. It’s a good location to be close to all the shops and cafes (if that’s what you’re after) though the food at swasti is already so good so why leave? If you’re sensitive to sound you could need ear plugs depending on what cottage you get on the property but it’s like an oasis in the middle of Ubud. So with being close to shops n cafes you sacrifice a little bit of noise.

Definitely a hidden gem. Lovely lush gardens, well maintained. The staff were friendly and caring. It was our "home" for 10 days. We had a massage in the Spa, and joined 2 yoga classes. Both professional and enjoyable experiences.

The food was truly delicious at Swasti Beloved Cafe, the carrot cake stole my heart. By the lotus pond, with soft lights and still water, the place felt like a dream. So romantic, so warm it’s now my favorite place to be, with love in every moment. 🌸🍰💕

✨ An unforgettable stay in a peaceful and enchanting place in Ubud ✨ I had the chance to spend two days at this wonderful hotel, nestled in a serene setting surrounded by trees, flowers, and truly rejuvenating nature. From the moment you arrive, you can feel that this is a special place, where everything is designed for your well-being. The pool is stunning — perfect for relaxing — and the staff is absolutely exceptional: attentive, warm, and always ready to help. Truly five-star service, but with a personal touch that makes all the difference. I had the opportunity to enjoy a facial massage, and it was simply divine. Since it was raining and one of the outdoor activities was canceled, the hotel kindly offered me last-minute spa appointments instead. I really appreciated this thoughtful gesture — they went above and beyond to ensure I still had a beautiful experience, despite the weather. The food was also incredible. I was able to dine in my room, and the meal was worthy of a fine restaurant. Whether you’re vegan or not, you’ll be in for a treat. I was truly spoiled! The rooms are beautiful, tastefully decorated, cozy, and incredibly peaceful — a real sanctuary. This place in Ubud is a hidden gem, absolutely worth discovering. Even just coming for the restaurant or the spa is worth it. The ambiance, the charm — everything reflects authenticity and care. They offer a wide range of wellness treatments, yoga classes, and many activities that make it easy to spend several days there without ever feeling bored — all while deeply reconnecting with yourself. A perfect place to unwind, recharge, be pampered, and enjoy life. I’ll definitely be coming back! Véronique from Canada

There are sheep near the outdoor restrooms that have no shelter, matted dirty hair, and nothing to graze on. This was surprising to see since it’s an “eco” space. I hope whoever are the care takers of these beautiful beings can find compassion in their heart to provide shelter and better care for them.
