Swee Choon (Changi Airport T2): A Dim Sum Feast of Quality and Convenience!
Choosing Swee Choon for a business lunch at Changi Airport Terminal 2 was an excellent decision. It provided a perfect blend of high-quality, authentic dim sum and the convenience required when meeting colleagues or partners in a bustling transit hub. We indulged in a great selection of seven dishes, and the experience was truly exceptional.
The dim sum here is genuinely great tasting, upholding the consistent quality that Swee Choon has been known for since 1962. Among the spread, two items stood out as my absolute favourites:
* Har Kao (虾饺): This was superb. The shrimp dumplings were perfectly executed—plump, juicy prawns encased in a delicate, translucent skin. Every bite delivered a satisfying sweetness and bounce. Har Kao is the benchmark for any dim sum place, and Swee Choon’s version clearly excelled.
* Fried Siew Mai: This was a revelation! Taking the classic siew mai and giving it a golden, crispy exterior was a brilliant move. The fried shell provided a delightful textural contrast to the firm, savoury pork and shrimp filling within. It was a truly addictive twist on a staple.
We also enjoyed a fantastic array of other classics:
* Cheong Fun (Rice Roll): Silky smooth rice rolls topped with crispy fried shallots and bathed in a light, savoury soy sauce.
* Steamed Glutinous Rice (Lo Mai Gai): Fragrant, sticky rice packed with tender chicken and mushrooms.
* Phoenix Claw (Chicken Feet): Tender and flavourful, braised in a rich, slightly sweet sauce that was perfectly seasoned.
* Deep Fried Prawn Roll: Crispy on the outside, with a warm, savory filling—a perfect deep-fried bite.
* Fried Radish Cake: Pan-fried to a perfect golden crispness, with a soft, savoury interior.
For anyone traveling through or meeting at Changi Airport, Swee Choon is highly recommended for a quick, quality, and authentic dim sum fix that never disappoints.
Highly Recommended!
