Sweet Arts Art Studio

We love Sweet Arts! the staff is warm, friendly, kind and creatively inspiring. We have participated in many day camp sessions and my son always comes home with incredible things to say about each day.

I cannot say enough great things about Sweet Arts! I have taken a lot of classes here -- mostly oil paint with Kim and oil pastels with Jules. They are both INCREDIBLE artists and teachers. I have been having a ton of fun learning new techniques and honing my skills. If you are looking for a fun, relaxing environment to indulge in your creative side, this is the place to go!

I have taken 4 classes here with the incredible Jules. She is a great teacher, extremely patient, kind and helpful. Highly recommended for individuals or groups of friends. I love what I created!!

Our daughter loves Sweet Arts so much! The staff is very kind and knowledgeable, and Lilian always goes above and beyond to make sure the kids have a good time and learn art. Our daughter always comes home with a smile and wants to go back as soon as she can! As parents we are always looking for a safe and fun place for our daughter and we are happy to report that sweet arts offers this and much more!

My 5 years old loves Sweet Arts Kids art studio. She has developed a great interest in drawing as the teachers are very skillful and great working with children. The studio setting is also amazing for making art. There is a new topic to draw every time, it really helps open up her mind to creativity.

I cannot say enough nice things about Sweet Arts and our experience! Lillian has been so great to work with - helping with us when our family needed flexibility and still ensuring the kids were safe & having fun. My kids come home every day happy and with beautiful art work that decorates our home. This place is a hidden gem - I wish I knew about this studio sooner!

My daughter really enjoyed the summer art camp at Sweet Arts. The staff are friendly and obviously very good with the kids, the studio is well maintained and they use good materials - my daughter has brought some lovely art work home. If you have a kid who is artistically inclined or who just wants a fun time spent with some nice people I would strongly recommend.

We love Sweet Arts!! Our girls love the camps here. Lilian the owner is wonderful. The girls love the art projects, the playground nearby, the instruction, and the other kids! We are regulars when school is out!

Kim was a great instructor and made oil painting look easy even though I struggled. She gave great direction and suggestions to each student throughout the class. The studio itself was kawaii. Great playlist by the way! 5 stars, would do it again someday!

Took an oil pastels drawing class and had a wonderful time! I love the finished product that I can't believe I created! They have one-off classes instead of a multi week commitment. Can't wait to come back.

i took a oil painting class with my mom and had a great time. our instructor was super helpful in giving us tips and we left with cute paintings to decorate our rooms with - would definitely recommend if you're looking to try painting or getting into art.

This is an amazing place because it has snacks and clay and you can paint, and they help us keep track.

Sweet Arts I'm Russian Hill is a true gem for kids (and adults) looking to explore their creative minds in an inviting and super chill space, with awesome staff! I took my 11-year old boy there a couple months ago, and from the start Kim his art teacher made him feel completely at home and excited about creating something to take home that same day! Kim is so awesome, she allows the kids to pick what they want to draw or paint, and provides guidance all throughout the session. She's super sweet and every time I come back at the end of the session, my son has the biggest smile on his face, excited to show me what he made. I would so HIGHLY recommend Sweet Arts for parents who are looking for activities for their kiddos. You can sign up for one class to try it out or a group of classes for a discount. They have adult classes too! Ask for Kim as well, she's amazing!! Now my son and I count down the days until his next class. Try it, you and your kiddos will LOVE it!

I've been twice on Sunday late afternoon to take a guided pastel class for adults. All the supplies and instructions required are provided and the pace is good. My pastels turned out great.

My daughter adores this place. We've signed up for a number of summer camps around the city and this is her favorite. The teachers are all fabulous and the projects they have for the kids are really creative and allow for individual interpretations of a general theme. The excitement and outlet for creativity is so refreshing. I love to see what she brings home each time as much as she looks forward to sharing!

I am a designer and have studied art in the past but have become rusty. I found Sweet Arts by accident when they were available to take children in for a fundraiser event held at my child's school. Months later, I was looking for an adult art class and their site showed up! Since then, I have signed up and have been going numerous times. I have really enjoyed their studio for a number of reasons: * The instructor Kim is a master at drawing; she is very good at what she does and imparts her knowledge to her class. She can even modify based on your skill level (let her know what you want to focus on) which I think is very important; *Drawing for me is a timeout and this space is so relaxing for that very reason. It's a joy; * I went to art school, but it's been awhile and I want to learn some of the basics that I was not quite able to master; * Every time I go, I get better; *You can take your work home and put it on social media or share with friends! I always say to friends, I am learning!; *It's close to were I live (always a plus!) Thank you Lilian and Kim for this wonderful, relaxing outlet!

My daughter loved this art camp for Indigenous People's day this year! We were using credit from a previous camp and the owner Lilian was super thoughtful and open about us using the credit another time. Anna LOVED this camp and is already asking to go back. We will definitely join again for future school holidays. Thank you Sweet Arts!

This is a really wonderful little art studio that offers classes for adults and children. The teachers are great at working with kids, and our daughter loves taking classes here. The kids are able to work with a wide variety of different mediums - watercolors and acrylics, clay, beading projects, etc. She absolutely loves this class, and we are grateful for this amazing addition to the neighborhood!

I thought it was nice that my daughter was guided to do something a bit different than usual, and copy a painting of a boot with flowers in (rather than just draw unicorns, princesses etc, which is what she does when left to her own devices with paint and a canvas). A bit expensive, though, considering that a big chunk of the 6-hour day was apparently spent watching the movie 'Ferdinand'.

I'm having a great time in the adult watercolor class at this small studio in the evening. Matt, the teacher, a serious guy with years of experience, has given me the chance to learn and practice water color techniques, color theory, and painting. Small congenial group works best for me and this is the place. We're taking turns bringing a bottle of wine to share as we work and chat about art in our lives.

We feel sooooo lucky we stumbled on this absolutely wonderful art camp this summer. My daughter loved every minute of it and was so excited to go every day. They do a nice mix of art and going to the playground near by. She came home with beautiful art too! The teachers are kind and great with the kids. Honestly can't say enough good things about this camp!! My daughter begged for another week this summer so she will be going back for sure and wants to do the after school program this coming year.

I love this art studio. Lilian and her team are amazing. I love that they encourage all the budding artists to see the beauty in their own work. My daughter enjoyed focusing on her craft for three weeks this summer. The intimate class size was perfect for her. Thank you Lilian and team for such a wonderful experience. We will be back!

What a great gem in the neighborhood! Dropped off my 4-year old for an all day art camp while his school was off and this place exceeded my expectations! I had a few questions prior to enrolling and the owner, Lillian, was responsive and reassuring. This place is great for working parents bc their art camps start at 8:30 and run to 4:30 (with option to extend until 5:30). Most camps I found either start at 9/end around lunch, or just don't offer enough days to cover all the staggered days off that schools in SF have. My son was able to enjoy two art projects, played with his new friends both inside the studio and in a nearby playground, and was well cared for by Lillian and her great team. I also enjoyed the periodic updates and photos while he was there. I felt like they really got to know my kid in the one day he was there! My son enthusiastically wants to return for another camp and I'm hoping to spread the word bc we need more kid-friendly/working-parent-friendly places in SF! Cherry on top is that we are also supporting a local mama and the arts!

My daughter London (5-years old) loves this art school. The camp they put on is a good option for Spring or Summer break.

Cute place for kids to create! Kids had fun with making clay animals, painted rocks. And tape art.

I signed up for the 4 class pack adult oil painting class. The first two classes were okay. The "classroom" area is really small, and there were only 2 other students, so it was fine. My third class was jam packed with people - about 6 students, which is a lot for this small space. The studio does this thing where they don't provide enough paint on your pallet (it wasn't just me, other students had to ask, too), so you have to keep asking them to come over and give you more paint. And same with brushes and other supplies. So, you have to stop your painting and interrupt the teacher to ask for more paint. And, for a full class of 6 people, it could be a little wait if she is helping another student, so then you fall behind on your work because you are waiting for more paint. This was okay when there were only 2 other students, but for my third class, there were 6 students. The super petite (and very nice) teacher could barely fit to walk to my desk area because the area is so small and even just a few more students makes it nearly impossible for her to reach students that aren't sitting right next to her. And, of course that also means that she can't easily walk over to look at your work and provide some tips. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do my 4th class because their website had some very illegible text about the new class schedule. Lucky for you, they agreed with me that it was illegible and it is now bright yellow text and you can read it (you are welcome). They said I can't attend the make up fourth class, and no refund, even though the fact that they revised their website to make it more clear based on my feedback shows that they agree they didn't communicate clearly. So, just a heads up to be careful about signing up for the 4-pack class. I would just stick with individual classes and not the 4 class package. I would just wait to see how many spots are still available for an individual class, and if there are a lot of openings, then you will probably be in class with just a few people and be able to get paint and have the teacher actually be able to reach you. It does seem like it is set up more for little kids than adults.

Walked by and saw this really cute studio & cute concept. Brought our 3-year old niece by a couple of days later. Wonderful experience! Great teachers, products and vibe. Had to drag our niece out to go home to take a nap - she would have stayed all day. We will be back often!

Lovely teachers and great little studio. Our toddler had a wonderful time. We stopped by during their open drop in time and did some painting and play with clay. Will definitely return!

Wow! This place is wonderful. To see my rough and tumble 9 year old grandson happily engrossed in art activities was amazing. We stayed longer than planned because he was thoroughly enjoying the experience. As we were leaving he asked when we were coming back because he had more ideas and "stuff" to make. I saw a whole new side of my grandson. I highly recommend this studio. It is a wonderful place for kids to explore their creative side and enjoy themselves in the process. Newest addition to the neighborhood, and it's the perfect summer activity for kids. I took my 4 year old nephew here for the 60 minute art lesson and he had so much fun. The staff are friendly and attentive, and made it super easy for him to follow along. Their website is user friendly and lists upcoming art classes for last minute reservations. There's a few more art lessons that my 4 year old would enjoy so we are definitely come back!

My niece (2) and nephew (4) had a great time at Sweet Arts. The staff is great and they have plenty of activities to choose from so both kids had options. We stopped by and spent about an hour finger-painting and playing with clay and playdoh. It's nice to not have to worry about making a mess at home! They'll also have free events in August which is a great way to check out the studio. It's a lovely addition to the neighborhood and we'll be back soon
