My absolute favorite Thai place in the metro. I drive 45 minutes to go here after I moved away.

Food was good, pretty authentic Thai food (my lady said it is, she's Thai). We got a free appetizer for that day we went (a special they were doing). Everything we had was good. I will probably go back soon.

I found this place online while visiting Texas. The atmosphere was pleasant, the waitress was friendly and inviting. I tried the sweet basil noodle soup. It is great. You must try this place.

Google
I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough. The service is great, the atmosphere is good (although bring a jacket), and I cannot overstate how incredible the food is. My friends and I got three entrées, a cup of soup, and a dessert and it was all absolutely magical. I don’t think that you can go wrong with anything here. I cannot wait to go back.

I’ve been coming to this place for at least 2 years now and the taste is so constant and satisfying. This place is such a staple for Thai cuisine and I love everything about it. The servers are all sweet and kind and the food never disappoints. Their Pad Kee Mow(drunken noodles) and Sweet basil Fried Rice is truly amazing. If you’re planning on giving Thai food a try, this is the place to go!!!

Google
Went for lunch on a Saturday in February. The service was really good, the team was efficient and they worked together in taking our order and picking up our dirty plates from the table. The restroom was clean as well. It’s a nice little spot where the food was good, professionalism high, and the cleanliness was good. Saw a few families with small children too, they all seemed to have a good time as well. Glad the restaurant services could provide for kiddos too.

Google
I got spring rolls with peanut sauce a bit chunky didn’t try any meals but was good quick bite no wait for service.comes with 2 rolls I ate 1 before picture large size noodle in middle. Nice

Was recommended to try this place out so I did I ordered pepper steak and shrimp Fried rice. The shrimp fried rice was really good but the pepper steak was really disappointing as it had very small portion of steak in it mostly vegetables. I would definitely go back for the shrimp fried rice, but not the pepper steak.

Google
This restaurant was recommended by my hotel. The staff was super friendly and food came out fast. I ordered the Thai Salad with chicken, Shrimp Spring Rolls and Thai tea. Everything tasted delicious! Will definitely be coming back!!

Yelp
Personal say it was a little hard to get to or hard to find easy to get. What I got a little excited about outside it's a look different especially for the area. I walked in and I was truly amazed it's really really nice inside. My server really nice friendly and polite just a really nice young lady. I have to say it's a great hire. My hot and sour soup came out with my lunch special day and it is so doggone good. The sweetness of it the flavor of it the texture of the food that's in it perfect. It almost takes too good to be healthy. Lol I must have I will look at the menu before you come or you'll be sitting at the table a long time because so many good looking items on the menu. Now the order the Pad Kee Mow (drunken noodles for lunch. I added chicken. The mail was brought to the table and I tell you it smells so good and looks so good My mail came out when it was so good I will tell you this, I order the 3 as far as spicy level; however, in most restaurants this is like a 4. I will definitely come back but maybe you spicy level 2

Yelp
Great service! Everyone was so friendly the minute we walked in and walked us through the menu and answered all of our questions. We did take out and it took about 15/20 min to prepare the food. The pad see ew was really good! It had a lot more sauce than other ones I've had but the flavor was still there and not salty.

Yelp
After a long shopping trip, I was starving. My SO suggested Sweet Basil since it was nearby. We were greeted right away as soon as we entered. The servers were nice and helpful. I was craving curry, so the waiter suggested the yellow curry. The little minions ordered the kid's chicken fried rice. My SO ordered the drunken noodles. The service was fast, and the food came out piping hot! The only problem was.....everything was so sweet. Ridiculously sweet. I thought I was mistaken, but my SO tried the boys' fried rice and my curry, and he agreed it was way too sweet. We will not be coming back. Food: 1/5 Ambiance: 3/5 Service: 4/5

Yelp
Always good and consistent. I would recommend. A little slow in to go orders. Good overall.

Yelp
We had been longtime customers of SB, but it's been over a year since I've indulged because if the exact reason I'm writing this review today--tasteless food!! I used to sneak SB into the movie theater back in the day, but it hasn't been worth the stop in the past few yrs. My oldest came in town and wanted SB--he has been raving about it thinking it would still be the same--he was very disappointed today. I get my Thai food in my hometown these days because it tastes way better and is definitely cheaper. I added the below seasoning to my Thai fried rice to make it more flavorful..point is I shouldn't have to. There were no onions in the dish or any other seasonings for that matter.

Yelp
Craving some Thai food and hadn't had a pad Thai in a long time. First off, came in for lunch and on their menu so many dishes were only $9.99, which was great since you usually see it to be around $13 or so. I ordered the pad Thai and thought I would be given a small lunch portion given it's only $10, and well, it was a lot of food! I finished it all and the pad Thai is exactly how I like it. The flavor was there and it was a lot of noodles, I mean, a lot!! So worth it. Definitely come try this place if you're trying to decide what to eat, craving Thai food and/or are in the area!!

Yelp
This place stayed busy on a Wednesday night. We have always drove past this place and never stopped by. The parking isn't the best so I think that's why. As soon as we walked in we were greeted from across the room and told to sit wherever we liked. We chose the table in the corner. The place is very mom and pop feeling with beautiful table cloths. The lighting was a little harsh but you were ok if you just kept looking down. lol We only ordered waters here as it's BYOB. So that's good to know for the future. We order Thai egg rolls as an appetizer. These were full of veggies and very savory. Probably my favorite dish of the night. For the entrees we ordered enough for lunch the next day. So we ordered Pad Thai, Orange Chicken and That Steak. We have never had Pad Thai before, so it wasn't a good surprise as we don't like fish most of the time. Unfortunately this dish is fishy from the fish sauce, salty and sweet. It was a very unusual flavor. Probably would never order Pad Thai anywhere, ever again. The Thai steak was delicious and came with Broccoli. It was in a brown sauce that made it very juicy. Each bite of steak was seasoned well and very tender. Our favorite entree was the Thai Orange Chicken. The chicken was crispy and the orange sauce had a great flavor of ginger in it which we love. It too was served with broccoli and steamed rice. We decided that night the next time we order orange chicken anywhere, it would be from here. Overall the service was a little strange and the pad Thai left a bad taste in our mouths, but the other dishes made up for it. Will definitely be back for the orange chicken and that egg rolls.

Yelp
I would recommend Sweet Basil Thai to anyone who likes or wants to try Thai food. I have been there several times, and the food and service have been great. Food is out quickly and is reasonably priced. The times I have been there, it has been quiet even when busy, and I haven't had to raise my voice during conversations.

Yelp
Try out Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine for the first time today. It is nice and clean and quaint restaurant. The service was okay. Little on slow side in the kitchen...the food came out very slowly and in wrong order. I ordered sweet and sour soup and beef drunken noodles. Drunken noodles came out first and then the sweet and sour soup came. Bowl of soup is very large. Unless you are sharing it, you are having leftovers if it is not your meal. Drunken noodles were good.

Steve G.

Yelp
Great food. Proper Thai food! I've only had delivery and that pumps up price. Looking forward to going sometime. If you're in the NRH area, great choice.

Yelp
Reply to manager: I had to go to another server because ours never came back to the table and we waited quite a while so yes I went up and found somebody else. My server just happen to be standing up there at the same time and never looked me in the eye. I have eaten at plenty of Thai restaurants and have had Pad Thai many times. I'm sorry to say that the quality was not there and the taste was definitely off. I wish I could have said something at the table to my server but she never came back during our meal. I reluctantly finished my spring hoping the entree would satisfy but not Luck and half my spring roll didn't have chicken, just lettuce. My friend didn't finish hers so there was some on the plate for sure. The whole meal was off including the Thai Tea. Your response is unprofessional in my opinion considering you didn't know "all" the details.

Yelp
Food- great Service- great Ambiance- great I decided to try this place to settle a nagging authentic Thai rice desire and it didn't disappoint! I've visited several times and each visit was pleasant. The host/waitresses are always welcoming & genuinely nice. My only request is that you add the option to order your WonTon soup without meat, pls. I do not have pictures to share for we consume our meals as they hit the table...lol. Wait- there's a reason to return! Hahaha Thx for the great food & relaxed environment!

Yelp
Great food, with excellent service!! Take out, or eat inside, either way a very nice meal!!

Yelp
We tried out Sweet Basil a number of years ago based on a friends suggestion. We decided to come back while on the quest to find out which Thai place would end up being our go to for when my wife wants Thai. We were greeted and said to pick where we would want to sit. Then we waited, and waited. All while we visibly saw one to two employees at any given moment, and the one we saw the entire time knew we were there as she was the one who told us to sit where we wanted. We ended up getting menus and again waited. When we did get our order in I will give props to the food coming out quickly. While they have a few more options our kids would choose to get, the food wasn't as good as other Thai places we've tried in the last month or so. Even with having higher spice levels my wife couldn't taste any spice on her meal, and mine was milder than we both thought it should be.

Yelp
Review 3/23 for 2023 lets go!! So I tried this place on a whim, I wanted dinner one night and didnt wanna cook so I drove down this part of Hurst and saw the open sign and I pulled up. It was a sunday afternoon so it was not crowded at all, I got greeted right away and seated. The lady gave me the menu and asked If i been there before and just went over the menu in a nutshell. I love Thai food and I had a hard time choosing what to get so I decided to get 2 plates. I dont care what you think of me yelp, I AM SUPPORTING A LOCAL BUSSNESS OK! I pay my taxes, I am an adult, I can order 2 plates of food just for me lol The lady did seem a bit surprise I was ordering 2 plates but I just told her I like to eat haha. I ended up getting the drunk noodles, I love these! I noticed almost every time I eat Thai food I get these noodles. I also went ahead and got the cashew...something lol I dont remember the dish but it was good because I finished all of it! Now they do ask what spice level you want your food so I played it safe and got a 2 out of 5 on both my dishes. I been to some places where a 3 feels like a 8 and some places where a 3 feels like a -20. So now you know. My food didnt take too long to get there, it was hot and packed with lots of spice and flavor. I think next time I will order more rice or maybe order the sticky rice. I did notice this place is BYOB so thats good if your looking for a chill night out but have a budget. The service was good and the food was most excellent. I approve of this restaurant and would suggest a visit to it.

Yelp
Sweet Basil has been the standard for other Thai restaurants to strive to be. Always fresh and delicious.

Yelp
Quite possibly the worst pad Thai I've ever had. I asked for it very spicy and it wasn't even close. The noodles were chewy too the point of being undercooked and they were **screaming hot** but the tofu was *lukewarm*?? How can that be if the tofu was tossed with the noodles?? I am guessing that they cook a whole lot of pad Thai noodles separately since it's a popular order, and then add whatever protein people order on top of it. Because it was the same thing with the egg. It was an unsalted unseasoned *lukewarm* pile of egg that they probably just add on top of the noodles when people order it. There is no other explanation for why the noodles burned my mouth but the tofu and egg were just warm, at best. There were a couple of pieces of scallion and a lot of bean sprouts, also barely warm. But I could not find any crushed peanuts. Strangely, there was a pile of room temperature bagged grocery store cole slaw mix - shredded carrot and green and red cabbage - on the plate. This made no sense and dis not belong. Crispy "Thai" egg rolls were not Thai. They were Chinese-American takeout egg rolls with the bubbly greasy wrappers and served with sweet and sour sauce. There was nothing Thai about these. And they were so flawlessly stuffed and wrapped they have to be frozen from a bag, not fresh made in house. Tom kha tasted super sour and was not nearly warm enough. I asked for prik nam pla on the side and I got a tiny bowl of fish sauce with one giant chunk of birds eye chile floating in it. And. It took 29 minutes to get my food. I get that they are busy during lunch rush, but that's an excessive amount of time for a lunch plate of pad thai... especially one that apparently needed no actual prep time. I feel badly for reviewing this place so poorly, as that is something I rarely do, and the ladies serving and hosting seemed very sweet (although... I only ate the proteins and left the rest of my pad thai and she didn't even bother to ask why I didn't want the leftovers). But I cannot endorse the food here. The only saving grace is that it was cheap.

Yelp
The food was fantastic!!! Great amount of Flavor and spice. The service was good. The only disappointment was the timing of the food. We received all 3 entrees more than 3 minutes apart from each other. Their priority was to go and catering orders then the people that took their time to come in and sit to have dinner.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Great food and fast service. Always very tasty with friendly staff. Will go back for more.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place so much because of all the great reviews. But to keep it short, I came in for lunch with a co-worker and ordered the red curry lunch combo which comes with soup. I asked for the curry to be as spicy as possible (Thai Spicy). I get their hesitation but what I got wasn't spicy, which I expect most of the time because I have a pretty high tolerance for heat. The reason for the three stars, however, was because the dish was just too sweet for me. It was almost to the point where I had to stop eating it because the sugar was overpowering everything else. Maybe it was because I ordered during lunch time and they're used to serving a different kind of crowd? I'm not sure but it was something I didn't enjoyed and probably wouldn't come back for.

Kelly A.

Yelp
I ordered food for pickup. The red curry was yummy, but the traditional fried rice was not good. It was very bland with no flavor.
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
An opening dining room awaits you... the service was prompt and due to this being a to-go order I couldn't say more of the services. The menu is filled with what seems to be Chinese dishes albeit Thai style along with traditional Thai dishes. This could be a plus or minus for some... I'll have to update my post on this place AFTER I try it.
google avatar

Shelley V.

Yelp
We tried this place out on a Friday about 4:30 pm and so there wasn't a lot of people yet, we were there until about 8 and there was a good amount of people coming to dine in and ordering take out. There was a lot of parking and several seating. We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant and were able to choose where to sit. Our server was super nice. I ordered a chicken pad Thai, almost no spicy, by choice lol. It was very flavorful and filling. We also tried the mango & rice. This was my first time trying this and it was delicious!!! This was a nice, quiet & clean location.
google avatar

Yelp
Food was so so but the service was great! I loved how the lunch specials came with a cup of soup. The Tom kha was really good. I ordered pad kee Mao and it was just okay. The only veggies were bell peppers and onions. I also ordered the spring rolls and they were okay as well, I've had better. Might be back if I'm in the area.
google avatar

Genevieve C.

Yelp
I thought that the food was very good! I really enjoyed the fried egg rolls (I would most definitely order that again!) The Peanut Chicken that I had was good, as well. I didn't think that the service was that great. I had a lemonade that was never refilled and it just sat there. I wish the service had been more attentive to that. I would try the restaurant again and see if maybe it was just a one-time deal.
google avatar

Veta R.

Yelp
I have ordered food from her several times and each experience has been great. The food is very delicious. I recently ordered the yellow curry with chicken and it was wonderful. The only thing is I picked level 1 for spice level. Which is supposed to be mild, but I believe it was a higher level. The service was good and I had a short wait time after ordering at the counter. Will go again!
google avatar

Yelp
Sweet Basil Thai Cuisine in Hurst exceeded my expectations in every way! Me and my family stopped by Friday and did not regret the experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we stepped in. My dad ordered the Red Curry, level 4, and loved the spice to it. I on the other hand, opted for the new lo mein dish and was absolutely flabbergasted. The noodles mixed with the veggies paired perfectly, and had a ton of flavor to them. We cannot wait to go back!
google avatar

Danielle R.

Yelp
I worked here over 8 years ago the food was amazing and cooked by 2 Thai chefs. The owner sold to a very nice man who had his chef trained by the 2 original to the point where the food was exactly them same. The service is always great and the ambiance is low lit and quiet. It's a place you take a friend and tell them you know this really great Thai spot. Even saw Harrison Ford here one time like it was no big deal. True Story

Emilie F.

Yelp
The food was good and the service was good for what Hurst has to offer. I was just in the area and wanted to grab lunch. Not a bad experience.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
Noodle Salad, with level 1 spice, was really good. Fresh with lots of vegetables and perfectly cooked chicken. The egg rolls were not what I expected but they were very good.

Becca B.

Yelp
Delicious!! Service was quick and food was hot! Restaurant music and customers were a bit loud.. definitely will be back to this gem!

Yelp
A great friend brought me here when I first arrived in Fort Worth, and I've been going back for some of the best Thai ever since. Sweet Basil Thai has an impressive appetizer list. So far, I've tried the crab rangoon, curry puffs, corn patties, and the crispy veggie egg rolls. My favorite is the Karipap curry puffs because they are unique to Thai food menus and who doesn't like a curry puff? As for the main dish, Sorry, I wish I could guide you through the many soups, soft noodles, and fried rice dishes, but I'm only an expert on one. I'm trucking across town to Sweet Basil Thai for their fabulous green curry pork. Some green curries are too hot, some too sweet, and some too heavy. This green curry is an amalgam of flavors, and it hits you right away that you're not just having the green curry. You're having THE green curry. Although the restaurant is tucked between other businesses in a strip mall, it brings in quite a crowd at lunch and on Saturday afternoons. Enjoy!

Yelp
I have been going to this restaurant for years as I worked on Pipeline Road in Hurst. I have never had a bad meal or an issue. The staff know me and are most welcoming. I have tried almost everything on the menu and the soups are great. I love their curries and have always had great service.

Ana C.

Yelp
Food was good enough portions were big. I had enough for two meals plus the soup, which was very tasty. It was delivered hot and in a timely manner.

Greg G.

Yelp
Been to Sweet Basil maybe 10 times, consistently good with very friendly service. It's a bit of a drive but worth the trip. The Tom Kha os my favorite and the Pad Thai is delicious. Will try more but hard to turn those two dishes down!

Grasya S.

Yelp
The food is amazing and the menu price is affordable. I enjoyed the fried garlic with beef and the yellow curry. We will definitely come back here.

Yelp
Best Thai in H.E.B. Our favorites are the family pot of Tom kha soup. All the curries. BBQ pork. Tom Yum noodle soup and all of the appetizers are delicious. It's a cozy environment with a warm and welcoming staff.
google avatar

Andrea B.

Yelp
So fresh and fast. The waitstaff are so sweet and kind. We always share a laugh and I try and make sure they know how thankful I am for being in our neighborhood. They will accommodate any spice level and are so good at making sure you leave full. Big portions and again, I can't stress how fresh all of the dishes are each time I visit. Family friendly and a great place to meet up with friends.

Yelp
Amazing Thai food with amazing owners! Love how all the dishes came with veggies and had a nice umami flavor :) 1. Tom Yum Soup Bowl w/ shrimp 2. Salmon Chili 3. Pad Graphow 4. Pad Kee Mow 5. MANGO AND BLACK STICKY RICE ** * Really recommend the Tom Yum soup to act as an appetizer like my family of four did. The Pad Graphow is also a nice dish to share. Recommend getting spice level 3-4 as 1-2 are almost no spice. Salmon chili is also very sweet FYI. ** The Mango and sticky rice is a must get! so creamy and rice was insanely tasty. interesting to see simple sugar on the sticky rice instead of coconut but i actually prefer it this way now.

Judy M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Menu Prices are fair Great customer service I would highly recommend

Yelp
Chicken lettuce wraps with the peanut sauce on the side is really really good. I always ask for double peanut sauce too.

Yelp
I began eating before I remembered to take a picture and write a review. The food is just THAT good. Sweet Basil is a very cute and cozy restaurant with incredibly kind, attentive staff. The food is made quickly and is absolutely delicious. They have a large menu with an array of various items, you're bound to find something! I ordered takeout tonight: vegetable spring rolls w/ sweet sour sauce, Thai BBQ pork w/ fluffy rice, and a cup of tom kha gai. Everything is fantastic. The spring rolls are crispy and light with a delicious savory filling of glass noodle, potato, carrot, garlic. The sauce it comes with is great. The Thai BBQ pork is my favorite entree dish (so far)- it is thinly sliced, savory, and comes with shredded vegetables along with another great dipping sauce. Lastly, their tom kha soup is so rich and luscious. I love you can choose your protein for it! All in all, I highly recommend you try this place.
google avatar

LG W.

Yelp
Lemon grass soup and thai basil fried rice - fantastic! Chicken satay appetizer, well it was good, but maybe not worth the price. Service was almost overwhelming, felt a bit pressured to order with constant asking but I think this was more of trying to do a good job, not realizing we were not in a hurry. I love thai food, this was really good and the staff was helpful, making several suggestions but just a bit overbearing. This restaurant is a win! Order the soup!!!
google avatar

Christopher R.

Yelp
Best Thai food I've ever had! I have been going here for years ever since I moved up here, and I never get tired of any of their dishes!
google avatar

Kelsee J.

Yelp
Was not a fan of the pad see ew or the Rangoon, maybe I didn't read it the menu right but it was all cream cheese and no crab. Not what I was looking for. The best part of the meal was the side of fried rice I got.
google avatar

Rohan S.

Yelp
One of my favorite local Thai places, I eat here regularly. It's quite small restaurant but the food definitely makes up for it.

Mike W.

Yelp
Sweet basil is in the NE Mall area where there are a multitude of Asian choices. The prior visit, it happened to be closed on a holiday, but the menu and style were attractive, so we returned when open. The variety was good, lunch options filled a full page at about $10, but the standard menu had few items over $17. Choice of protein on many items and intensity of heat were adjustable. The massaman curry was tasty, a little different simpler spicing than others, but had nice large potato and chicken portions, most all meals have steamed white rice. The pepper steak was good texture and flavor. The soup cup accompaniment was a nice start. A slightly different take on the Asian eggrolls, but with a good sauce laid upon a good dollop of salad. Staff and owner were friendly, never let our water glasses get empty, and removed extra plates as they were done. Great for stopping through, never expected such a nice little place in the backside of an unassuming strip center behind the NE Mall. Try it, we will return.
