This was our only food stop in Moab. After hiking and exploring at Arches, we were tired, hungry and in desperate need of comfort. Sweet Cravings did exactly that!
Located on Main St. but far enough from the main drag of shops and tourist traps. The restaurant is massive, I wonder if this was a retail store in a previous life. You get in line, order at the counter, and your food/drinks are brought to your table. The woman behind the counter was a seasoned pro, working the line quickly and efficiently, all with a sense of humor.
Making a decision might take you a while, especially on a hot summer day in Moab. I found the menu board overwhelming, with too many options. Being a creature of habit in a pinch, I landed on The Capone (Rich's Way), their rendition of an Italian cold cut sandwich.
Capone Sub // Capicola, Genoa salami, pepperoni, provolone, lettuce, tomato, vinegar and oil on freshly baked sub roll. A solid sandwich. Good chew from the bread, salty meats and a slight tang from the oil and vinegar. After a long morning at Arches, this is what I needed.
Each sandwich comes with a side and dessert of the day. A nice added bonus. Potato salad was very tasty and the chocolate chip cookie was fine. I was ecstatic to see they had iced coffee, which brought me back to life! Overall, a reliable local cafe in Moab.
