The Sweet Home Hotel was a lovely and charming hotel on the edge of the Plaka, just a short walk from everything. The staff were extremely helpful, the beds were comfortable, the breakfast was good, and the AC worked - it even has a great collection of photographs in the basement! It definitely hit all the right boxes for our family (wife and kids, plus elderly grandparents). It had soul and comfort, and still allowed us to get to where we needed to get to. Next time we're in Athens, we'll definitely stay there again.

Sweet Home Hotel is a fantastic quaint hotel to make your stay comfortable and efficient while in Athens. Wonderful breakfast with many choices to satisfy your taste. Beds were very comfortable. The staff is fantastic, friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to serve. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a Five Star Four Seasons. But, it had much more character and is perfect for the vacationer to Athens, close to and convenient to all the major places of interest. Can walk with ease to many places. A perfect place to call Home for several days while exploring Athens and the surrounding area. We would stay here again.

The best choice for a stay in Athens! It is SO close to Plaka, the Acropolis, and everything else you'll want to see during your stay. It was so convenient to walk everywhere within twenty minutes. The rooms were nice, air conditioned (which was an absolute game changer in the summer), and had large bathrooms. The breakfast in the morning was delicious and varied, making a great start to our mornings. More than anything else, the service was absolutely fantastic. The employees remembered us, asked how things were going, offered help and water, were so polite, and even offered to send us with breakfast to go when we told them we were checking out before breakfast opened. All in all, everything we could ask for in a hotel!

This is one of the loveliest hotels I have stayed at. The hotel is in a central location, off a small laneway, and despite being in a busy part of town, my room was very quiet.|Friends were staying nearby in a more expensive, upmarket hotel, but we all agreed that the Home Sweet Hotel was a real gem and they said next time they'd stay here instead.|My room had a small veranda overlooking some greenery and an internal courtyard. I had a premium room and it was spacious and also had a couch and coffee table. It had an ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, a comfy bed and air-conditioning. My son had an adjacent basic room and although it was on the small side, he said it was very comfortable and all a single traveller needs for a short stay. The hotel has a lot of charm with old parquet floors and antique furniture but also a modern lift and a really nice breakfast area with a fantastic breakfast available each morning.|For me though, the standout was the lovely staff. They could not have been more helpful and welcoming and made lots of fabulous restaurant recommendations where the locals eat. There's definitely something about a family run hotel. I couldn't fault anything during my stay and would definitely stay again.

While the location of and breakfast at the hotel are great, it is not well maintained and we were given a different (and less attractive (salmon colored, one window, small footprint)) room than the one I specifically booked (yellow walls, two large windows, larger footprint). When I noted both maintenance issues and the room issue to the front desk politely at check in and check out, they were incalcitrant, defensive and told me to speak to the manager (who is not at the property). There are many new and well decorated hotels in the area that should be considered by travellers instead. The hotel needs to fix its Booking.com listing to show all rooms in a “category” instead of several images of only one room of that category (which communicates to the consumer that the listing is for a specific room).

Wonderful boutique hotel! Staff was wonderful - thanks Dina, Alexa, and Emma! - and the location could not have been any better (center of Athens with a short walk to all of the main sites). And to top it all off, the Greek breakfast every morning was delicious! Rooms are a bit small, but we were not there to stay in our rooms - would definitely stay there again!

Lovely hotel. Very helpful staff before and during our stay. Well located for all attractions. Good buffet breakfast. Very clean with a great shower. Room on the small side but with a comfy bed. There was a small balcony but the view was of a demolished building so didn't really use it.

We enjoyed our three-night stay at the hotel. The staff arranged our pickup at the airport as well as our departure to the port. The breakfast options were extensive and delicious. The staff is very accommodating, and the location of the hotel is perfect for touring Athens, shopping, bars and restaurants.|Gary L.
