"Since the Palisades Fire, fully vegan and gluten-free Sweet Laurel has been operating out of a pop-up shop on Pico Boulevard in Santa Monica; its Palisades Village location was spared from the flames due in part to hired private firefighters but is not ready to reopen. While the pop-up menu is somewhat more limited, the space — still pleasantly pink, in line with the brand’s Palisades shop aesthetics — allows the team to keep baking some of the best vegan, grain-free, and refined-sugar-free cakes in town.
