Sweet Magnolias Bake Shop

My family and I stopped in for a quick sweet treat while we were in the neighborhood to visit Amateur Coffee. Sweet Mags did not disappoint. I was able to snag a few scones and cookies. I ate them all. Without regret. The flavors were very fresh and the scones and cookies were not over baked. Sweet Magnolias is a top tier bakery with a variety of muffins, scones, cookies, brownies, and other delectable treats. Do yourself a favor and run there ASAP!

We heard great things about Sweet Mags! We ordered two boxes of baked goods to enjoy in our hotel on a recent visit to Omaha! WOW! Everything was outstanding! Our favorite was the Key Lime Bars. Sweet and tart! The scones had a perfect texture and were full of flavor from the sweet raspberry to the savory ham and havarti. If I lived in Omaha I'd have a problem 😉. The staff was so pleasant!

We’ve been getting cakes for special occasions from Sweet Mags since March of 2018 and they have been amazing every time! From our wedding cake to our gender reveal cake and every birthday cake for our daughter, Sweet Mags has been there for so many of our important moments and lots of small moments that just involved a cookie or scone. Best bakery in Omaha, hands down.

This place was great. Got in and out quick. They had a hot raspberry scone that was iconic. I will be thinking about that for days. They were really helpful in answering my questions. Highly recommend. The cinnamon roll is great too. Saving the lemon bar for later.

We dropped in to Sweet Mags looking for something sweet on our way out of town. It did NOT disappoint! From the descriptions, to the tubs of brightly colored frostings and the “Immigrants are Welcome Here” sign in the window it was a wonderful little bakery. If only we had discovered Mags on day one of our Omaha visit! Staff was warm and welcoming, but the SWEET treats! Sticky Buns, blueberry scone, Almond pastry, and more! Delish!

This was next door to Lisa Radial Cafe, so of course, after lunch, I needed dessert. Mind you, I do research all the places I stop, and reviews do mean a lot to me. If I see the review, I'm wrong, I will correct them. This bakery is a small bakery, but the desserts are so darn yummy and not your usual ones. Their scones are gigantic with yummy flavors. My choice was a Raspberry scone. Of course, I couldn't stop there, ha ha. I also selected several cherry pie bars. They looked so good, and it's one of my favorite flavors. Then, I hope I get this right a tahini Butterscotch bar and a strawberry cheesecake bar. The cherry pie bar was so tasty, the crust melts in your mouth along with the struesel flavor, not to mention perfect cherry pie filling. Can't wait to taste the others. Again, I live to support locally owned businesses, and its something we all need to do for our communities so we don't lose them. Nebraska people, if you haven't tried this bakery, get off your duff and visit it, you don't realize what you're missing. The review was spot on, kudos for leading me to this bakery. Update: The cherry pie bar is scumptous as the fruit is perfect flavor, not too sweet, perfect, along with the crust being flaky and oh so flavorful . Now, the Tahini Butterscotch bar is my new favorite, as the tahini and Butterscotch together are so delightful that it melts in your mouth its so perfect tasting along with the crust just compliments them both. Thank you for the new flavor profile for me as I love Butterscotch, but now I must have it with Tahini. Oh, so delicious & tasty 😋 More to come on my Raspberry Scone when I have breakfast tomorrow

I really enjoyed my trip a few weekends ago to this bakery I have been talking about for a while. I got a brownie and my husband got a cinnamon roll. They were both super fresh and very tasty. The nice lady taking our order had a big smile on her face when we came in. I will for sure be back!

There are so many wonderful, indulgent treats that I enjoy I hardly know where to start. Salted honey cookies, peach poppyseed scones, maple pear pecan scones, brownies, salted camel bars, peanut butter bars…all A+ in my book. And the cinnies of course, I’m team caramel. Any cake occasion has me submitting an online cake order request (so handy). Sweet Mags also did our wedding cakes and they were the absolute best. We had multiple different flavors and they were all huge hits. No cake leftovers for the bride and groom. The one we cut was chocolate with peanut butter filling and salted caramel buttercream. Chefs kiss! We also had a red velvet, carrot with marscapone, funfetti with raspberry filling and vanilla butter cream, chai with apple filling and white chocolate buttercream, and the smoothest cheesecake with berries ever. It was a glorious cake buffet and everyone was a happy camper!

So many things to choose from! We love this place! They have everything baked goods and more! Scones, cookies, bars, cakes and you'll love them all! When I went in last time I got a variety of stuff for my wife's birthday at work. Two big boxes of treats and the price was very reasonable for the quality of goods! The smells are amazing when you go in and they have a wide selection of treats. Do it!

Gosh I miss my lil' college town SO much. This is one of my favorite Omaha establishments of all time. Seriously people, the hype is real. I don't think you can go wrong with anything you get but I love the cinnamon rolls, cookies, lemon bars, scones, and biscuits. Sweet Mags has some of the best pastries I've had in my whole life. It is my husband & I's newest & greatest obsession. We waited WAY too long to come try it. Now we have to make up for lost time In a cute little brick building on the corner. - classic cinnamon roll was great - the raspberry scone is as big as your hand & to die for - PISTACHIO CHAI cinnamon roll... CMON!!! the best cinnamon roll we've ever had ps: 2 instances are shown here bc we came twice within 2 weeks. it's THAT good

I could rave about Sweet Mags for days and days. Some of the best baked goods in Omaha! Their locations are super cute, they've always had a great selection of pastries when we stop by, and the staff is super friendly! What more can you ask for? Highly, highly recommend them if you are looking for a great local bakery!

Really stumbled upon this place when we were waiting for our reservation next door at Lisa's Radial Cafe. Noticed a small crowd of people in line for this bakery and figured may as well join on in while we're here. Definitely worth stopping by and the wait! Key Lime Pie Bar - 5/5 Has the perfect amount of tart and sweetness Peanut Butter Crunch Bar - 5/5 - If you love peanut butter and chocolate then this one is a must! Poptart - 5/5 Their poptart is fantastic and tastes just like the real thing but without all the crap that comes with the prepackaged on the shelf stuff Thahini Butterscotch - 2.5/5 - this flavor was a little off for me and not sure I really loved the combination. Will need to pass on this next time Looking for a great bakery then come by Sweet Magnolias Bake Shop!

Long story short.... BRIDES and GROOMS, check on your cake orders!! I debated posting this for a while because we did come to a solution, but I wanted to share our experience simply for anyone that plans to order from Sweet Magnolias (Millwork). Kinda disappointed, especially for such an important event. My husband and I ordered an 8in vintage heart wedding cake just for us to cut. Our wedding was 9.14.24. We ordered the cake sampling box back in April and had a hard time choosing since everything tasted so great, however we decided on the ricotta berry. Picture of the sample box included. I believe the sample box was approx $40ish. We requested the cake in June and prepaid. It was $85. The week of the wedding I attempted to reach out via email to confirm pickup, but got an email that Katina was out of the country from Sept 4-16. Instead I called and confirmed everything. Someone also did email me back about the pickup process. Eventually everything panned out and we got our beautiful cake. Fast forward to the cutting at the reception and the cake included no berries what so ever. It was super disappointing because we had been looking forward to this cake for months. I reached out to give sweet mags a chance to fix the issue and got the same out of the country message, but we were on our way to our honeymoon. While on our honeymoon, "sweet mags" responded with the screenshot below offering a $20 refund and admitted to "omitting" the berries in a "mix up", also fully acknowledging they knew what our order was supposed to be. All in all, I agreed to the $20 refund because it's not worth the argument of who baked the cake even though Katina was "out of the country" and the email response was never signed with a persons name, but instead the business name. Lesson learned, triple check on your orders.

This place lights me up!!! This is definitely one of my favorite pastry shops I've been to ever. I ordered a frangipane bun, a strawberry scone and bun and it was too good! Usually my mom doesn't eat a lot of these type of desserts but she loved it. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone locally or visiting. The price is also very reasonable!!!

We've been meaning to stop by for years now, and finally had an excuse. Grabbed some to-go sweets to celebrate a friend's birthday. The peanut butter was delicious, my personal favorite. The sprinkle brownie was a huge hit with the kids!

Got few things to try based on comments. Not worth the drive. Not impressed. The help was rude as well. Talking amongst themselves and not paying attention to the customer

Haven't had a bad thing here - my favorite thing is to get a huge assortment and try all the different offerings from cinnamon buns to cookies to scones. I wish they had every product available on every day, but totally get how that is logistically challenging. Each item varies in price from maybe $3-5?

Sweet Mag's makes an AMAZING chocolate chip cookie. For moments after my first bite I was transported to heaven. It was cooked to absolutely perfection and still warm when I ordered it. My husband ordered a lemon bar and was similarly blown away. I unfortunately didn't get any photos of the treats because I ate them too fast. The staff was also super friendly. I unfortunately don't live in Omaha and was just there for a quick visit but if I'm ever back you can count on me to visit Sweet Mag's again!

Small but awesome bakery. Everything tasted great. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. We bought cinnamon rolls, brownies, and bars. I would gain 30 pounds if I lived nearby. The hours are somewhat limited and there is not a lot of parking close by.

Stopped in because I had heard that this little place was good. As I sit at the cafe beside it. (Because they didn't have coffee) Box on the table- I'm thinking about the experience I had - I walked in the door no one acknowledged or even looked up at me. Look around. Mind you this place is tiny so it's not like you don't know I'm there ... One of the 3 girls that had just got off of her phone comes over. Doesn't say anything just stands there - I ask what the scones are and as she speed races through it.... I ask her to repeat a few- and ask for a couple bars as well. Pay- Get that look like I should tip her. $20 because she gave me the best service of my life. Not! I haven't tried there stuff. Given that lack of service and graciousness I think I might just give this &30 box of stuff to the homeless man

Stopping in for some goodies from Sweet Magnolias - Midtown. OK, I'm hooked! Having attended the North downtown arts fair over Labor Day, I enjoyed the Sweet Magnolia shop at Millwork and have been back twice already this past week! Went over there on Sunday and did not realize that they were not open - yikes. Checking the hours I found out that their midtown location is open on Sundays, and we quickly drove over there to get our cookie fix! Located just south of Cumming Street, it is next-door to Lisa's Radial Cafe. Sunday mornings street parking can be a little tight with restaurant brunch and neighborhood church traffic so plan accordingly. The shop is small, but has plenty of room for a wonderful selection of goodies. Voted the best of Omaha for a number of years in a row and I now know why. This is a must stop for anyone looking for a different type of treat that is a little more on the healthier side. Like most bakeries, they start early and close early and can sell out, so check hours and if you're really looking for something special get there early! This is a must stop along with their Millwork location. Check hours to ensure that you understand what days of the week they're open. The shop is focused on having space for goodies so this is a take away location only.

Creative, locally owned bakery. The best place to order holiday boxes from. They also have the cutest cakes.

After spending some time downtown, I searched for breakfast/bakery spots and saw this one. It's small. No seating inside or outside. The friendliest server sharing what each item was while in the back they were making more. We tried a variety of items. Everything was amazing but the scone...100% the best!

Another stop on my Omaha tour for my parents and as always, didn't disappoint. The honey lavender cookie with lavender frosting was the group favorite, but we also really enjoyed the oatmeal cookie sandwich and cinnamon sugar donut. Key lime pie bar was a little too sour for us, but everything else was delicious! Bakers immediately greeted us and were very patient while we deliberated what to order

Sweet mags is a classic Omaha bake shop that never disappoints. They have a variety of baked goods and every one that I've tried has not disappointed. The oatmeal cream pies are my absolute favorite. The cookies are perfectly baked and the cream is mouthwatering! The cheese cake bar and the cinnamon roll was also delicious. It's a small bakery with no seating really but is a convenient spot to pick up orders to go. I know that even if my favorites are sold out here, I'll be able to find something delicious. I'll continue to return never time my sweet tooth acts up!

My most favorite, indulgently sweet (and sometimes savory) treat spot! The scones are unmatched. Like have ruined me for any other scone maker. Simply the best! And the variety of bars and cookies is always amazing. I'm team peanut butter bar, salted honey cookie, or brownie but there's always something to tempt me to try a new item. And the cakes! Oh my goodness. Any get together or celebration that even remotely might be considered a cake opportunity has me emailing Sweet Mags for a custom cake! I very much appreciate the ease of email communication to ensure we're all on the same page. I've ordered multiple birthday cakes, Christmas party cakes, and of course our wedding cakes (plural...we had 5 because how do you choose?). If from scratch, buttery rich buttercream (or cream cheese or marscapone) frosted cakes are your jam this is your place!

This location is smaller than the Millwork one, but still has a lot of goods. It's located right next to Lisa's Radial Cafe and Amateur Coffee which is really convenient. There is lots of street parking and a small parking lot across the street. The employee who helped us pick our items was very friendly. I went mostly for the cardamom twist which they only offer on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and it was soooo good. It's my favorite thing from their shop. I look forward to when I can get it again!

Quaint little bake shop. Very vegan friendly. Large selection of pastries and breakfast baked goods. Friendly and attentive staff. Had the peach scones and the mixed berry scone. Flavorful,moist and loved the chunks of peaches. I normally am a traditional scone person with no glaze or frosting on my scone but their glaze was light and very liberal on the scone. Definitely will return when back in Omaha.

Literally incredible everything. Customer service, creativity, flavor range, artistry, etc. I ordered two cakes for two 29th birthday girls, I emailed photos of inspiration, gave color ideas but let them take their imagination wherever they wanted. I was FLOORED when I opened these cake boxes. Jaw on the ground. Thank you so much for the amazing cakes!

Sweet Magnolia's has been a staple bakery for me for quite a while now. The quality, variety, and if I can be honest, the personality of this shop really resonates with me. Their one of the local bakeries who gives a lot back to the community which is amazing, and then to have 5 star items on top of that? AMAZING. The staff that make this place work really care about their products and put a lot into making everything as delicious as possible. My most recent experience with Sweet Mags was at Modus Coworking they get their pastries from their quite a bit and I love to see them displayed when I am co-working! If you haven't stopped into any location I highly encourage it!

We ordered a birthday cake, it was dry and frosting tasted like butter only. Service was unfriendly. Very disappointed based on such great reviews

One of if not the best cinnamon rolls in Omaha, in my opinion. I'll be honest, I did not try it my first couple of times because it looked average and what a mistake that was! The star of this bakery is truly the scones, though everything else I've tried is slap your grandma delicious if you're visiting or looking to try something new I highly recommend everything on their menu! Something worth noting - you can order online for pick up but it does have to be (1) day in advance

Small little shop, where when you walk in the staff is baking goods in front of you. Everyone spoke when we came in and the cashier was super helpful with helping me to select treats to eat. These were decadent and tasty. Melted in my mouth. I was super angry I didn't order more to try. Everything we had was super delicious, flavorful and moist. We will definitely try this place again.

We had breakfast next door so I had to.stop before we left town. I ordered two Cardamom rolls ( both for me because my boyfriend somehow hates Cardamom) and a Cherry Pie Bar. I ate one Cardamom roll and it was luxurious and yeasty, Carmel, sweetness with the perfect amount of Cardamom. Also tried a bit of my boyfriends Cherry Pie Bar and it was magic! The only very sad thing is my boyfriend threw away my 2nd Cardamom roll a day later even though I hid it on top of a rack in our kitchen. I seriously almost broke up with him over this! He promised to buy me some next time we're in town so I think we're gonna make it!

Awesome pastries! And people know it, get there early! One of my favorites is the monster cookie, perfect amount of oatmeal for a chewy bite! My second favorite is actually two bars, both with pecans and they are like a pie in a bar- eat with your fingers! Bourbon Pecan bar and German Chocolate Pecan bar. It's a toss up. Feeling like a little chocolate go for the German Chocolate. What more crunch pick the Bourbon Pecan.

This adorable little bakery is located right next door to Lisa's Radial Cafe and they have some of the best cinnamon rolls in town, which are my absolute weakness. The roll is chewy and not too dense and the cream cheese on top isn't too sweet. The older I get, the less sugary sweet I want my desserts/baked goods. It's more cream cheese based and just perfect! Those are a MUST, along with their scones! Blueberry is my favorite and they're really moist! They make a strawberry rhubarb scone too, which was delicious! Enjoy anything from Sweet Magnolia's with a big cup of hot coffee and that's morning bliss right now. I tried their s'mores bars and yuck. Not a fan. Just my preference. I don't care for dark chocolate as much. That was really the only thing I didn't prefer and even then, it wasn't the worst thing ever. I really wanted to give them five stars except all the ladies working weren't exactly the friendliest bunch both times I went to SM and that's kind of disappointing being as how they're a small bakery. I was the only one customer in the store at the time and they made me feel like I was a nuisance for purchasing more than a few items (I was bringing breakfast home for my family as a surprise bc we love supporting local business). I fully understand that businesses are understaffed and working hard with a limited crew since the pandemic began. These ladies were working hard. However, I guess I feels like all businesses should treat their customers like they want their business and want them to return. A smile, a friendly greeting and a thank you instead of an eye roll, sighs and an attitude isn't going to cut it, short staffed or not. Even when I still tipped them nicely at the end.

Their cardamom knot is FANTASTIC I really really appreciate that it's not overly sweet, that is what a dang good knot should taste! It's a small corner shop but it's a mighty one! They opened a new location have yet to go there! But I really love this place they have the best treats

I was very disappointed in the cake I purchased from your bakery! For the decorating the lettering was not centered and I was told it would be comparable to another cake on the website And it was not! Also I honestly did not care for the cake. I did not like the texture or the flavoring. For $60 it was not worth it!

I walked in very excited to try their pastries and the food looked great, but the staff was not friendly. I asked the gentleman if they could warm up a cinnamon roll that I wanted to purchase but the employee said they didn't have a permit from the city in order to warm up food for customers. There was no one else in the bakery. Clearly he just didn't want to be accommodating to a paying customer. I even called other bakeries and asked if they can heat up food and they said absolutely! I don't know who wants to eat a cold cinnamon roll when it's 40 degrees outside. I would not recommend this place. Maybe I don't look like their average customer but I definitely felt I was treated poorly for no reason.

Wow! I found this little gem when we came to have breakfast next door. I only bought one brownie which I later ate and felt sad that I had only bought one. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area!

Amazing bakery with great customer service! I lived down the street from the mid town location for years and my favorite thing to do was walk over on a weekend. The malted Oreo cookie is probably the best cookie I have ever had. The staff is always so kind and gracious as I painstakingly peruse the bakery case. Go early because they are popular. Go often.. bc they are awesome.

I've been dying to go to Sweet Magnolias since I moved to Omaha and finally tried it out (twice) in the past month! I first visited their Midtown location and then their new location in Millwork Commons this past weekend during Hutchfest. From cookie sandwiches to peanut butter bars and brownies, everything I've tasted has been so rich and decadent which is how I like my treats! The only minor dilemma is that not all the items were labeled in the cases and asking the employee what certain items were made me feel like I was holding up the line. But not a big deal. I think it's going to be dangerous living so close to the new location! So good!

A very nice bakery, celebrating it's 5th anniversary. A variety of baked good donuts, scones, pastries and cookies. The savory scone was delicious! Wonderful service, very courteous.

What can I say other than this may be the best bake shop in Omaha. I haven't had an item I disliked. This time around, had to get several items. The ham and havarti savory scone was filling and had a good amount of meat and cheese. The raspberry scone was an absolute treat, like wow I need 3 more. Felt risky and tried their everything Parmesan bun and it hit the spot, the inside was perfectly soft while the outside had a nice crunch and Parmesan flavor. Finally, the loves of my life, the bourbon pecan and Tahini butterscotch bars. I would sell a kidney for an unlimited supply of these. One nice thing about Sweet Mags is you can order ahead of time and get exactly what you want. This is a great shop and I will continue to eat here.

Best bakery in town! Katina (owner) regularly posts her new (and classic) creations on social media, often with a bonus food pun or two. My go to's are scones and bars, but they have a huge rotating selection and also do custom cakes. Their online ordering system makes it a littttle too easy to patch my sweet cravings Really loaded up on this trip so that I could try some of the special holiday items - Spinach & Feta scone, Oreo truffle cheesecake bar, s'mores bar, puppy chow bar, pistachio donut, malted milk Oreo cookie, sea salt pistachio oatmeal scotchie, and peppermint crunch cookie. Everything was solid, go check this place out

Delicious pastries but not having coffee is a miss for me. Amateur coffee around the corner was delish but I was really looking for a one stop shop. But again, the pastries were amazing!

Sweet magnolias bake shop does everything right. Usually a bakery will have a specialty or it will be a bit or miss.... But not at sweet magnolias. Everything is perfectly divine. The service is also impeccable, I have never not been greeted with a warm smile.

My wife used to get Blueberry scones here every year for her birthday. We would order a dozen to be held and they always did. This year I called and she said no - they are first come first serve. She may have 3 coming out of oven but first come first serve she won't hold them. Not driving from West O n the chance you may have 3 instead of the dozen I need. Very disappointing for my wife on her birthday and disappointed in a local shop like this having such poor service!
