I came to Sweet Melissa’s all throughout college and I recently came back this weekend and it was just as delicious as I remember it. However, somehow the cauliflower wings got even tastier!! The gin martini was made exactly like I liked it and the bartender was extremely attentive the entire time! Will always hands down say it is the best restaurant in all of Laramie. It is a must!

Google
Really blown away. Amazing food, drinks and service. Fried banana bread is a must. I will be back when I'm in town. Shout out to Shelby for being awesome!

Google
I live in Loveland and est here frequently as well come up to ski, hike, and just enjoy Laramie. I have never had a bad meal here things are always consistently delicious! I bring all my friends here and they love it even though they are meat eaters.

Google
What a delightful experience. Sweet Melissa's has vegan and gluten free options available which were excellent for my dairy and gluten food allergies. The food was great. The vegan nachos cheese was absurdly good. The service was great. It's a cozy spot with good vibes. Loved everything about the experience.

Google
Absolutely loved it. My town, despite being bigger than Laramie, does not have a vegetarian Cafe. I'm not a vegetarian but I love vege food. This place does it great. We had buffalo cauliflower nuggets and crabless cakes. Both awesome. Good cocktails. Just great all around. We went in here at 2pm and it was still busy so I figured people must like it. I see why.

Google
We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch here. Comfortable booth, friendly server and great food. So happy to know where to go for rich and satisfying vegetarian food In Wyoming. The cauliflower General Tsao is spicy as all get out. 😥 Hula burger is a win for the unusual combo of black beans, grilled pineapple, cheese and pickles. 🤩 Fried banana bread and homemade ice cream—yes, please! 😜 ❤️

Google
such a fun stop in! I'm from out of state and was so excited to find a vegan/vegetarian restaurant here! and it was DELICIOUS. my partner (who is a huge food snob) raves about this place and this was only his second visit. as a vegan person, I honestly only WANT to eat here. I really enjoyed the employees; their energy for the spot is so loving and inviting. they made the experience what it was and I was grateful that they were as excited as I was! now let's talk prices.. WOW some of their appetizers are SO affordable, as was the rest of the meal. I was mostly just shocked at the apps but also happily surprised that we binged on spending and still got a reasonably priced meal. thank you so much for an amazing spot!

Google
I sat on their porch under a shade with a nice breeze and flowers. The food was amazing. Service top notch and everything was fast for how busy they were. Their drink menu is huge with lots of fun cocktails. I've lived as a vegetarian in Cheyenne most of my life, I would move to Laramie to eat here more! Lol. I had a mojito and the vegetarian peanut Thai stir fry.

Yelp
Driving across country with a friend with a severe dairy allergy. We pick larger towns to eat in so we have an option or two. We were so surprised to find a vegetarian/vegan option here in Laramie. As a meat and dairy eater, I was thoroughly satisfied and enjoyed the wonderful food immensely. I highly recommend the Tikka Masala. With cauliflower and chickpeas, it was a great option for eating healthy on the road. The wait staff was accommodating and friendly. Also, it is such cute establishment and we were lucky enough to be seated by the fireplace.

Yelp
Look, Laramie doesn't have the best food. If you are traveling here, my advice to you is to pick your restaurant on vibes alone - and the vibe here is winning. Super old building in the heart of downtown with large windows that face the train tracks. The owner is such a delight and obviously cares very much about the business. The food is okay for foodie standards but well above average for Laramie. Order the cauliflower wings with Buffalo sauce and smothered black bean burrito and you'll have a great time.

Sydney S.

Yelp
Maybe I'm rating it higher than it deserves because of nostalgia (I went to UW years ago) but this is one of my favorite spots ever. Employees are so very sweet and it just has the best vibes. Get the Ruben with a side of mac and cheese.

Wayne G.

Yelp
The restaurant is a mix of diner booths, tables and a bar area. I ordered an appetizer which is unusual for me because the kimchi pancake caught my eye and it's okay but I've had better at Korean restaurants. The vegetable stir fry with rice and tofu is very good as is the key lime pie. The service is very good.

Luke A.

Yelp
Amazing vegetarian food with a diverse menu and surprisingly "meaty" options. Our server was very attentive and she knew the menu very well--helped explain a lot! It was a little darker in the building than I would've liked, but the place was clean and nice otherwise! Went with a group and got to try a little bit of everything: Dolma - 4/5 Wings - 5/5 - You have to order these ... I liked the sweet sauce better than hot. Jerk ravioli - 3/5 - Everything on my plate was tasty, but it wasn't cohesive. Grilled cheese - 4/5 Bahn mi w/ portobello - 4/5 Tacos - 2/5 - Too much going on and not able to eat like a taco (ma used fork and knife)... THE DESSERTS WERE AMAZING Cherry crisp - 5/5 Fried banana bread - 5/5

Yelp
Just wow! I found this place on Yelp while looking for a place for us to eat when in town. We have a few different allergies to contend with and this place did not disappoint in being able to accommodate us. I had the Pineapple burger and it was really good. It was an Impossible burger and was really tasty. The rest of the food was really good. Our server was great! We even ran into her at a coffee shop the next morning by chance. The atmosphere of the restaurant was busy but also easy going. Lots if great art decorated the walls.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Excellent food, friendly service, great ambiance. Loved the soup and Greek salad, falafel, and hummus. It's nice to have a place like this in Wyoming.

Jessica R.

Yelp
Hands down the best food I've eaten during a road trip from Canada to Texas. I'm not a vegetarian and I ate there three times. Everything is amazing. Even the ice cream. Highly recommend. I'd even consider making a stop there in the future just for this place if I'm ever around those parts. You won't be disappointed.

Kailee N.

Yelp
I've been here a couple of times while passing through Wyoming from camping and I love stopping here on our way back! The service is beyond sublime and the food is delicious. Most recently I had the dolmas , the tofu and broccoli with coconut rice and the green chili Mac. Off the top the rice - while a bit dry and quite crunchy actually carried such a nice coconut flavor and if it were to be softer I would've just eaten it by the buckets. The tofu was crispy and the service was so filling. The dolmas were lemony and fresh. And the Mac hit the spot. As a vegetarian I normally feel underwhelmed with vegan Mac but this was flavorful and cheesy! Great work and I can't wait to stop by next time we're in town!

Yelp
After driving many miles across Wyoming with no dining options, Laramie appeared on the horizon. I figured as a college town, we would have choices including some for a vegetarian. Had to convince hubby to go to an all vegetarian restaurant hoping he could find something to satisfy the carnivore in him. At a little before 6 pm on a Saturday, the place was packed with a short waiting list but we were told there was open seating in the bar area (which we didn't discover until we left that it was called The Front Street Bar). Had no trouble finding a table but it filled in quickly. Our server was attentive, even after a party of 10 hogged her attention. Wish we had gotten her name...Food? I had difficulty deciding between the Tika Masala, black bean burger, and the cauliflower wings. Our server told us they are known for their wings so decision made. Ordered half (bbq sauce) and half (Buffalo) with vegan ranch. Yummy and very filling! Hubby ordered the three bean chili and added cheese, sour cream, and onions and gave it a thumbs up, high praise from a meat chili lover. Food took a little longer to come out on the bar side but not unreasonable. Mostly a college crowd but saw a few families on the restaurant side. Interesting signs and pressed tin tiles created a fun atmosphere.

Julie C.

Yelp
I had the crispy cauliflower and a veggie burger. Everything was delicious. They were busy, so the wait time was a bit and we just walked around the block. Worth the wait!!

Sylvia S.

Yelp
It was so nice to find this very vegan friendly restaurant on Yelp when passing through Laramie. There were indeed many vegan options instead of one or two of most places claiming to be. The 3 bean chile and potato soup of the day were great, and the vegan cornbread. Even the "butter" was vegan. And the service was great! And the bathrooms were clean.

Anita L.

Yelp
Food was great and service was amazing. It was also cool that I could see the train passing by. The only issue I had was that they still served animal products. As we know by now there's nothing humane about the dairy and egg industry, no matter how hard they try to humane wash it. Taking one star off for that.

Eli C.

Yelp
Good food. I was a bit surprised for being a meat eater. I enjoyed their Dolma's, and a couple other dishes I was informed to try. I was very impressed.

Kara B.

Yelp
I am NOT a vegetarian or vegan. But this place is amazing! Some of the best food in this category. They have the menu appreciated with a key to let you know which items are vegan, contain egg, dairy, gluten or honey. Also let you know which dishes can be made into a vegan or gluten free dish by request. My sister is vegetarian and was obsessed with this place.

Michael K.

Yelp
This was my wife's pick for dinner and I being a carnivore was hesitant to go. I lost and we drove down to first street for dinner at Sweet Melissa's. We arrived at 6pm on a Wed evening and were promptly seated at a corner table by the front window. Their menu was three pages of apps and dishes all labeled with keys indicating contains eggs, dairy, honey etc. . I gravitated to the back page that listed specialties and found a couple ravioli dishes that piqued my interest. Asking our server for her opinion she pointed me to the ravioli with chipotle cream sauce and raspberry sauce. My wife copied me and ordered the same dish. We also ordered a small Greek salad to share as I am a sucker for feta cheese. For drinks I picked an Odell IPA off their chalkboard list while my wife got a glass of Malbec. Our ravioli dish was very tasty. The chipotle sauce was sneaky spicy but the raspberry sauce cooled it down a bit. The accompanying garlic bread could have toasted more but other than that no complaints. The Greek salad to start was fresh and yummy. The warm pita bread was a nice bonus. Service was attentive and great the entire time. I'm glad I let my wife talk me in to having dinner here.

Rudy D.

Yelp
I came with my mom and sister. The service was so bad. The food was decent, but nothing special. I am pescetarian so I wish they had some options. But I respect their integrity. I had the Greek salad, sans the cheese. With tzaziki dressing. Sorry I can't spell that word. And also a black bean burger. I ordered a drink.... ordered... because 25 minutes later, it showed up. I asked for a second drink after a while, we had time to kill. I never got the 2nd drink. They were pushing us out the door, by this time. My sister never got her drink, at all. Her burrito was terrible, and she is vegan. She got mashed potatoes, also, and they were cold, upon arrival. My mom got cauliflower wings and an impossible burger. Her burger was cold. The cauliflower wings were good, though. I probably wouldn't return.

Stacie M.

Yelp
This place never disappoints, even for non vegetarians. We had a nice lunch in the bar, had some crazy good black bean and potato tacos and the Jerk Ravioli. Every dish is So flavorful, you can't shut up about it. The cauliflower is good too. The effort is here, but it still feels casual. I ate so fast, I failed to take a photo.

Hop S.

Yelp
I wanted to like this more & others in my party probably did, but this is my review, not theirs. I had the black bean burger and found it uninspiring. Just a standard "disc" shaped, largely bland patty. I would consider trying SM's again (esp since we've not found anything better in a Laramie yet), but I'd def get something different. And avoid the garlic potatoes; they're way too salty & seemed to have been cooked many hours before.

Lynndel F.

Yelp
Next drive to Utah I think I'll stop here to eat. This was a nice place. The lady who greeted me at the door was kind and she took our order to go. We had our dog Sweet Tea with us and we're driving to home sweet home. My black bean burger was deliciously topped with avocado, tomato, pickle, lettuce surrounding by a very soft bun. The side of sweet potatoes was yummy too. I can't believe I ate the whole thing!! But I just couldn't put it down. Oh and I had a bite of whatever my husband had and it was great too. Vegan food is so tasty and just full of flavor. They know how to cook appealing vegan food full of flavor. Your mouth will thank you.

Mark Z.

Yelp
Food was prepared fresh from scratch. Service was friendly and server was knowledgeable of the specials. Ambience was groovy shabby chic

Amanda S.

Yelp
Okay, you would not expect a vegetarian restaurant in Larime. But this place is a true treasure. They have a bar with great drinks and service, and then the food is spectacular! Honest, I could see driving up to come here! We will always stop if in Larime. We are not vegetarian, but our friends we were with are vegan, so finding a restaurant can be a challenge. We all enjoyed our food and service so much we came back two days in a row! Even if you are not vegetarian or vegan, give this place a try; you will not be disappointed! I only got two pictures because we ate the food so fast

Hashintha J.

Yelp
Melissa's recipes and the folk who serve, are amazing! I love the Banh Mi that they make

Mary C.

Yelp
The most reliably good restaurant in Laramie. Our go-to place to bring guests & the convenience of great drinks from their partner bar is a real plus.

M H.

Yelp
+ Food is good + If you're vegan or dairy / gluten sensitive, they got you: tons of substitution options + Prices are reasonable - Wait time can be a touch long 9/10

Bennett C.

Yelp
Delicious food and cocktails. Do it. Soooo good. Definitely a part of our regular rotation of Laradise hot spots.

Rob D.

Yelp
Excellent service, food and drink. This ambiance will keep you here! I think I see some famous folks enjoying this too. Shhhhh!

Rachael R.

Yelp
I definitely get some raised eyebrows when I tell people my favorite vegan restaurant is in Wyoming. And if you think I don't make the hour long drive from Fort Collins to Laramie just for their cauliflower wings, you are dead wrong. Take your pick of anything on Sweet Melissa's menu, and you won't be disappointed. Falafel pita? Delicious. Portobello Bahn Mi? F'yeah! Fried banana bread? Yes please. Mojito? Why not! All delicious. The cauliflower wings are by far their shining menu item. Perfectly breaded, these flavorful little nuggets are served up either BBQ or Buffalo style with vegan ranch or bleu cheese on the side. And they'll blow your mind. Stop by Sweet Melissa's between climbs at Vedauwoo or make a stop on the drive from Fort Collins to Steamboat. Or get in your car and drive there just because it's a Thursday. Just don't do that on a Sunday because unfortunately they're closed that day.

Matt B.

Yelp
Absolutely next level incredible! Best Vegetarian food I have ever had an ever existed! The most incredible customer service that has ever existed. There is a girl with round glasses and pink hair that is so welcoming kind and incredible! Thank you for an amazing experience and great food!

Anna N.

Yelp
I am in the middle of a cross-country move with my partner and toddler daughter. We are vegetarian and have been eating lots of peanut butter sandwiches, chips, and Clif Bars on the drive. Pulling into Laramie and finding this place was like a dream come true - our first real meal in days, and it was outstanding! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the vibe was warm and welcoming. It was great to find such a queer-friendly place as well. 10/10

Mike S.

Yelp
Awesome vegetation restaurant in the least expected place! Great food options for all tastes, attentive service in a funky college town setting.

Julia V.

Yelp
Excellent vegetarian restaurant with lots of choices. We had Greek salad w 4 falafels, chili w cornbread, and the pancake w onions, scallions. Fantastic. Portions reasonable size. Service was friendly knowledgeable and prompt. We stopped here on a road trip and next time we pass this way we will make a point to stop and come here, it is that special.

Morgan H.

Yelp
We loved Sweet Melissa's! Fun atmosphere, delicious food, and wonderful service! Will definitely be back next time we're in Laramie!

Cindy R.

Yelp
We went to Sweet Melissa's a few years ago when we came to Laramie, so when we were back in town for another visit, we had to go back. We were with a family that is vegetarian, and although we are not, there were plenty of dishes to choose from. Everybody loved what they got! All the dishes are so creative! The cauliflower wings weee crazy good! Who would have ever thought you could make cauliflower taste like that! Same for the cashew queso! The kids got mac & cheese (yum) and humus (I didn't try). My key lime pie martini was excellent, (gonna try to make that at home!), my husband got the enchilada which was delicious, I got the cauliflower chickpea dish which probably wasn't a wise choice since I'm trying not to eat rice, and then we shared three deserts:, the Sweet Melissa sundae, the fried banana bread (because of other Yelp reviews), and the Key lime pie. All were to die for and we couldn't say which was the best! We all rolled out of there, stuffed and happy!

John M.

Yelp
This place doesn't need my review. They have great food, great mixed drinks, and an amazing staff. We were passing through on our way back to the Left Coast and got here at the busy time, so we sat in the bar. Everything looked good and, now, a month later, I can't remember what I had (but I was very pleased -- at least I remember that). The bartender was charming, and a mysterious, quiet woman occasionally checked on us, brought a thing or two -- Sweet Melissa! It had to be her, watching over business. Do I say it again? Great staff, great atmosphere, great food.

Donna C.

Yelp
I don't give out 5 unless a place is AWESOME! I was not convinced my fam of 4 would each find something to eat but I was 100% wrong! Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cute decor and clean. Amazing menu with so many options you will have a hard time deciding what to order. Artichoke dip appetizer. Steamy hot with just the right blend of artichoke and cheese. Wide array of veggies and also pita triangles. Entrees: all were very good. Jerk Ravioli - cheese ravioli with grilled pineapple and fried plantains in a spicy jerk sauce. Just the right amount of heat and quantity of sauce. Enchiladas - sturdy choice - homemade red sauce was quite good. Overall not super spicy. Vegetable stir fry with Thai peanut sauce - chose the coconut rice, very complimentary to the stir fry. A few more veggies would have been a bonus but it stood on its own. Cauliflower chickpea tikka masala - chose the coconut rice, overall very flavorful. Very large portion.

Alex M.

Yelp
Sweet Melissa's has a great atmosphere, great people, and the best vegetarian food in Wyoming without a doubt.

Paula H.

Yelp
The food and cocktails are amazing. Even my meat eating husband likes it!! That's saying something!

Katie M.

Yelp
Been vegan for 5 to 6 years now this is the best vegetarian/vegan restaurant I have ever been to. Their cashew queso was absolutely fantastic, wouldn't even know it's not real cheese.

Gay M.

Yelp
Great food and friendly service. Best restaurant, vegetarian or not, in Laramie. I love the cauliflower sandwich (only in summer). Chili and cornbread are wonderful as well.

Syrena H.

Yelp
Very good food. Nice downtown location with fun outdoor seating area. Parking can be tricky but it's worth looking for a spot

Jacque C.

Yelp
Best Rubin! Yummy! Always vegan delicious! Very perfect atmosphere in cold Laramie. Great service and presentation is wonderful and very quick. Would visit again it's just great food!

Emily P.

Yelp
I take out of town guests here frequently. I am constantly asked "what is good here?" ... and I say "everything. I've never had a meal or appetizer or dessert that isn't EXCELLENT". This is seriously one of my favorite restaurants... ever! The food is healthy and beyond delicious. If you are vegan or vegetarian or have food allergies ... no problem! The service is always prompt, polite, and knowledgeable. I myself have food allergies, and eating at Sweet Melissa is completely do-able, and yummy! If you are driving through Laramie, or this is your destination, or where you live ... you need to eat here! I wish they were in FOCO, or Boulder, or Denver! Since I've started this review I'm now saying - I need to go to Laramie and eat at Sweet Melissa's ! I need to find out if they do catering....

Paul K.

Yelp
What an impressive place! The menu seemed overly ambitious to me, as the restaurant has numerous dishes. We had he vegan bah mi and the fancy grilled cheese. Both were great. This is a good place to take non-vegetarians for them to try something a bit different. We missed out on dessert, but a friend told us the banana bread is super. We sat outside on a small patio, which gets a lot of western sun in the pm. But at least we were able to bring our dog along. Perhaps one would not expect a place like this in Laramie, but it is a real jewel.

Shelly S.

Yelp
This is seriously the best restaurant in Laramie (maybe in all of Wyoming). It doesn't matter if you are vegetarian or not, you are going to love their food. The cauliflower chickpea tikka masala with coconut rice is absolutely divine. And the ravioli with chipotle cream and raspberry sauce is mind blowing. I also recommend their lasagna and can say I didn't leave a morsel on my plate. Of all the items I've had, the only one I didn't care for was the vegetable stir fry with Thai peanut sauce. The veggies were all a bit too blackened for my tastebuds. Whatever you do, make sure you save room for dessert!!! You will be blown away by the fried banana bread! To start with it's this magical banana bread with walnuts. But then they do something fabulous in that they fry it! And then they serve it with this luscious caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. Your life will be changed. Now, if you are looking at their adult beverages and like a little sweet and tart, you must try the Asian Lemon Drop martini. OMG!!! I'm forever in love with this drink! Hopefully you bartender will include the little sugared ginger cube as it is the perfect touch.

Eric F.

Yelp
this is my favorite place to get a mixed drink in town. the food is also fantastic, I like the cauliflower bbq wings as a starter.

Karen F.

Yelp
It could be cleaner, and the menu is calorie heavy for vegetarians. If you like to eat a meat-based menu but are switching to a healthier lifestyle this place is for you.

J H.

Yelp
This place slaps, but I swear it run through me every time. Except the ravioli which is great. Front streets also good.

Jason H.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Sweet Melissa's food, I come a few times a week. My dinner when I normally eat here is either the cauliflower wings, or the Ruben with Mac n Cheese, fried banana bread (the fried banana bread is to die for!!!), and a regular style lemon drop martini. I'm a meat eater and honestly enjoy the seitan "meat" they use for the Ruben. The vibe the restaurant puts off is amazing as the music is always a hit and the staff are always friendly and welcome you with a smile on their face. Highly recommend to stop by if you are looking for some really good vegetarian food!
