We came into this place and immediately noticed that none of the desserts had prices displayed, which already felt a bit unusual. We asked about the price of the larger desserts and were told they were around $30-$34, so based on that information we decided to order one small dessert and one medium-sized dessert.
As for drinks, the only options available were prosecco or tea, so we ordered two green teas. Before sitting down we asked if we could pay upfront, but the cashier politely said no and told us she would bring the bill after we finished.
To be fair, the tea was served in a large teapot, which was nice. Desserts were good (7 out of 10)
However, when the bill arrived, including the 20% tip, the total came to $90 for two desserts and two teas.
The issue isn’t the tip, which we added ourselves. The issue is the lack of transparent pricing. Without prices displayed, it’s difficult for customers to understand what they are ordering and how much they are actually spending. Clear pricing is a basic expectation in hospitality, and unfortunately that was missing here.
