Thank you to Sweetfield Manor and the entire team for an unforgettable stay. We truly enjoyed our time, thanks to the exceptional service and warm care provided by the staff.||The food was delicious, and the picturesque surroundings — enhanced by the charm of roaming peacocks — added a magical touch to the atmosphere. The view from the property, especially during sunset, was absolutely breathtaking and offered a serene panorama of the town at any time of day.||The pool gave us the feeling of being in a lush jungle — refreshing and emotionally uplifting, especially during light rain showers. Staying in The Carriage House felt like stepping into the elegance of the 18th century, with all the comforts of modern design. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, and the high ceilings and large, cozy bed made for the most restful sleep — like a baby in a cradle.||Every meal was a delight, with melt-in-your-mouth flavors, and the afternoon tea on the patio brought joy to both early mornings and late evenings.||We loved it so much, we’ve already booked again. Looking forward to celebrating our next special occasion with you soon!

I love it here ! The staff are friendly and helpful. They made the stay pleasant . Small boutique hotel just how I like it , ran by locals . They have peacocks on the premises , they can be a bit noisy, but this doesn’t bother me nice views , clean room , complimentary massage included.i would 100% come back and recommend staying here. It’s a 20 min walk to the beach and supermarket and restaurants, I like walking so this was fine for me !

Beautiful old plantation house with only a few rooms. Rooms have been beautifully updated and kitted out. Small hotel on a small piece of land right on the bluff looking down to the ocean. Suitable for small events too. A small pool, spa and restaurant is attached. Staff are wonderful and service is great. Not really in walking distance from anything but a short taxi ride away. Or rent a car I suppose.

My husband and I stayed at Sweetfield Manor for our babymoon while I was eight months pregnant, looking forward to a relaxing, quiet experience in what’s advertised as a charming boutique hotel. Unfortunately, our stay was filled with unexpected disruptions and a lack of responsiveness that made for a very disappointing experience.||On our first night, there was a full-blown DJ party in the courtyard directly outside our room that went on until 11 PM. The music was so loud it literally shook our windows. We couldn’t relax, watch TV, or even have a conversation, let alone sleep. When we asked the staff about changing rooms, we were told there were no other rooms available, and no alternative accommodations or solutions were offered.||The second night was just as bad — a loud, public documentary premiere about crack addiction was held on the property, again clearly audible from our room. While we respect the subject matter, it was not something we expected (or wanted) to hear blaring through the walls during what was meant to be a restful getaway. Once again, no effort was made to minimize the disruption or move us to a quieter space.||At no point prior to our stay were we informed that these events would be taking place. Had we known, we would have reconsidered booking, especially given the nature of our trip and how far along I was in my pregnancy.||We also tried to contact the staff via WhatsApp — the only available method of communication — regarding both our concerns and to schedule a massage, but we never received a response.||On our third night, our air conditioner stopped working properly and began leaking onto the nightstand. Staff did respond to the issue, but the solution was simply to turn it off and place a towel on the floor. Again, no follow-up or offer of a room change.||Sweetfield Manor may present itself as a quiet retreat, but that was far from our experience. We left feeling tired, frustrated, and honestly a bit misled. I would not recommend this property to anyone looking for a peaceful or restorative stay — especially not for something as special as a babymoon.

Just returned from a two night stay at sweetfield Manor after a week on the west coast of the island. It was a last min booking and we were really pleasantly surprised. ||Pros:|Really beautiful property , hidden away and very serene. Very small hotel so not busy at all. You feel like you have the place to yourself. The restaurant is good and consistently delivers good quality and tasty food. The spa is also very nice. We had massages that were great in their beautiful little massage huts. It’s a bit out the way which could be a pro or a con depending on if you have a car. We had a car so we could drive to great restaurants and beaches within a 5 min drive. They provide beach towels. There are beautiful peacocks all over the property which is pretty cool. You can watch the sunset from their deck. We didn’t use the pool but it’s cute and very lagoon like. ||Cons:|Service at the start was a little hit or miss but improved as they got to know us. We arrived 20 mins before official check in time and they said sorry check in is at 3pm. We had asked for earlier check in which they had said is not possible but they also didn’t seem like they were making a big effort to get us into our room. They didn’t end up having the room ready for 3pm and we waited until about 3:30pm nothing offered to us while we waited (glass of water etc). We also asked the person at check in if we could do massages and she said no they’re fully booked. Upon further questioning a different employee came and checked and found us two spots the next day. Really not a huge deal but if they could improve their service it would really be a great little hotel. It’s the little things that make it next level. It’s clearly an old plantation house and the staff knew nothing really about the history which was too bad. ||The only other thing to note is if you’re a light sleeper, which I am, the peacocks are very loud especially right now as it’s mating season. Bring earplugs or headphones. Was fine for a couple of nights but a week might be a bit much.

Sweetfield Manor is a great small hotel for your Barbados visit. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The rooms were as described and were cleaned to a high standard through our stay. The on site restaurant is also good, although it seemed to be very quiet when we stayed so lacks some atmosphere. The only slight downside is location, it is a 20/25 min walk to the main areas such as beaches and the route to them is not the best at night.

My wife and I spent seven nights at Sweetfield Manor. We loved it and have booked for nine nights next year.||The staff is very courteous, helpful, and nice to speak with. Food was very good. Cleaning was a priority as the lounge area was cleaned several times per day. Our room was very clean. The lagoon pool was fun to swim in. Yes, the shower water never seemed to get hot and it was warm enough to be comfortable to take a shower.||We walked to the George Washington House and passed the Barbados horse racing track. There was a very nice breeze throughout our stay. ||All in all we had a wonderful stay and recommend it to folks who want a boutique, laid back vibe, not an industrial big chain hotel experience.

Disappointing Stay at Sweetfield Manor We recently stayed for the past 2 nights, which is described as a boutique hotel. However, if "boutique" means poorly maintained, noisy, and overpriced, then it fits the description. Cons: Doors don’t close properly—The wooden door to the outside doesn’t shut well, and the veranda door is difficult to close. The bathroom door doesn’t fully close, which is quite embarrassing when using the toilet. Noisy environment—Peacocks look beautiful but are extremely loud in the morning. The air conditioning units and fridge in the room are noisy (we had to unplug the fridge to sleep). Poor soundproofing—We could hear guests using the bathroom next door, and because the doors and windows don’t close properly, we were also disturbed by pots and pans banging in the kitchen. As we checked out, we overheard other guests complaining about the same issue. Shower problems—The water never got hot, even after running for 10 minutes, and the water pressure was very weak. Housekeeping issues—Towels and bath mats left on the veranda to dry were never brought back after cleaning. Pros: Soft bathrobes provided. Two small complimentary bottles of water on arrival (though they were not replaced daily). Veranda with a floating bed—a peaceful place to relax. Lovely gardens and pool area, with charming steps leading down. Overall Impression: While Sweetfield Manor is in a beautiful location, the noise, maintenance issues, and lack of service make it far too expensive for what you get. Would not return at this price. I have just discovered my brother stopped here last year, he was lucky to stop in the main hotel and did not experience the issues we did .
