SweeTreats Craft Ice Cream

I'll give them points for creative concept but had issues. It's similar to rolled ice cream except everything is mixed in using an auger to press the mixed ice cream into a soft serve look. It's lacking taste and flavor. While the gentleman advertised real fruit, they used frozen fruit which not only lacks flavor we are left eating icy fruit chunks which is unappetizing. I would be more forgiving in review if I didn't see the worker handle our ice cream with his bare hands, clearly a health food violation and unsanitary for uncooked foods. The nuts I had mixed in were bitter and burnt and I spent close to $9 for it

Great ice cream and friendly staff! I love places where you can customize your ice cream to your exact taste like here! Choose your base and any add-ins or flavors you want. Personally, my choice for Highland's best ice cream. Stop in!

Had a vanilla shake with dark chocolate chunks, best shake . Staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely will be back.

Warm Italian sub was delicious, wild rice soup and the craft ice cream. I would eat here again.

My favorite type of ice cream! They actually blend the toppings with the ice cream as you wish. Creamy and on point 🍦🤪 probably one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had!!

Whenever my family would travel to Highlands for a hiking trip, a visit to SweeTreats was always a highlight, even in our adult years! I was looking forward to introducing my own children to this delicious ice cream and am hopeful for a new location for you in the future. Wishing you the best and I am grateful for the fun (and delicious) memories.

We stopped in yesterday for the first time and it is quite different from what we expected. There are only two choices of flavors; chocolate or vanilla, and a large selection of toppings that can be added which was quite good but certainly not as generous as most of the photos by other reviewers. The 6 ounce cup was exactly level with the top of the cup and not rounded as was my waffle cone. It was still an adequate amount but just not what one usually expects and certainly not what is depicted in past photos. Very refreshing on a warm July summer day!

Ice cream was good! However! They had no toppings/flavoring when we went. My wife and I tried to order 5 different toppings/flavors and were told they were out of everything we asked for. While sitting eating our “6th choice” ice cream we heard others walk in and order and were also told a few times that they didn’t have the customers choice. The employees were friendly enough but management needs to step up the inventory game.

Just a review as an ice cream shop. (Haven't tired the eatery section and probably wouldn't rush to with so many other, more interesting local food options around Highlands.) But as an ice cream shop, this place is adorable! Especially if you visit during a time that's not super busy. My two daughters and I used to take over the little counter seats by the window that overlooks the streets. The ice cream is yummy, and there are so many mix-in options that you can always come up with something new to try. Staff has always been friendly, space has always been clean. Cute little stop!

My family has been going here for 20 years. We have always loved it. Ownership has changed over the years. The last 2 attempts to eat here have been met with extremely rude behavior from the person in charge. What a shame that we can no longer enjoy a family tradition because of an individual who is obviously in the wring line of work.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. I tried to come here three days in a row when they were supposed to be open according to their hours. Employees were sitting inside, but the door was locked all three times and we weren't able to buy anything. Beyond terrible service. Don't even waste your time.

Great ice cream and staff. These 1 star reviews are from pretentious highlands snobs. If you don't want to be around people without masks, don't go in.

My family loves this place, but the employees are not wearing mask half the time and when they are it's below their nose.

Reviewing this as a sandwich deli. Don't bother! We had our dog and was looking outdoor seating,Non available, so decided to order a quick sandwich and eat by the ice rink. We ordered the Hoagies that seemed to be made by a very untrained staff member. The roast beef and turkey with everything had no beef and ketchup! Who puts ketchup on a sub?! Let along a sad little turkey sub! A waste of $47 and we had to find something else to eat. Pathetic!

HIGHlands prices. Ate there with a coworker for lunch and we each had a "boxed lunch" with the highland hills sandwich and a milkshake. Total bill was 40 dollars. The sandwich was fantastic and they have hands down the best milkshakes ever! Just cant get my mind of the pricing. However, the pricing for the highlands area is crazy in general. Overall, I will most likely just be stopping by for just a milkshake next time.

This is a small space, and they serve many flavors of ice cream in the front and have a few booths in the back where they serve sandwiches and drinks. I had a muffaletta sandwich and she had a hotdog. They came with potato chips and sourcream with herb seasoning for dipping. It was a simple little lunch, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. The people who run the place were so nice and helpful. It's simply decorated but homey and warm. I'd be happy to go back. Save room for ice cream.

Great place to grab ice cream when in the Highlands area. They only have chocolate and vanilla as a base but can add many different toppings. My wife had a milkshake with vanilla and strawberries and tasted exactly like they used strawberry as the base. Will go back!

Absolutely amazing!! This looks like a run down place, but it's all a lie. They make their own, flavorful and generous sized ice cream or soft serve with any toppings you can think about! Their technique is super cool, so you must watch them create your treat! We were up in Highlands/Cullasaja for the 4th of July holiday week. It was very busy all day, every day we were in town. Thank you for your kind service and delicious cones!!

Wonderful staff, and some amazing ice cream! The lady manning the register recommended a blend of pumpkin, cheesecake, and cinnamon and we were not let down! This has been a highlands must-go place for as long as I remember. I just wish it was still by the river with the feeders for the legendarily huge trout. But the new location is far more conducive to foot traffic, and doesn't change the quality of the ice cream or the service one bit.

They blend into ice cream numerous flavors of nuts, fruits and candies. It is very good and a family favorite. They used to have a place on Cashiers and 2nd place in Highlands but now just one shop right on the main corner of Highlands. Very popular place.

Employee not wearing mask today 9/14 Sun 3:30 pm. EE was a young man who had the mask over his mouth but not over his nose. He took our order and money. Then he brought our ice cream to the other window and still had mask on only on mouth and not nose. If this matters to you, then you will now know. It matters to me.

Ordered a regular chocolate in a cup with Oreos and peanut butter. With our party of 10, we were second to order. After waiting 15 minutes and my entire party outside eating their ice cream, I asked the woman at the register where my ice cream is and she was confused. It took them another 5 minutes to make it and the fact we spent over $150 in ice cream to have been forgotten about, was just annoying. Everyone was done with their ice cream once I even acquired mine so it dampened my experience. Also; there has to be a better system put into place. This place is SO small and SO crammed when ordering. It's no wonder the kids behind the counter get to overwhelmed with orders they forget customers.

Great sandwiches. Everything I have had over the years is solid. I had not tried the soup until this past winter. This may be their best kept secret. Both soups were delicious with the soup and half sandwich option. The ice cream of course is always super at Sweet Treats.

10/10 would recommend. Their ice cream is so amazing & it's awesome to watch them make it. We came in from out of town just to walk around and I don't regret stopping by this place at all.

This eatery is probably best as just an ice cream store, even though I've never purchased their ice cream. I work in the area and need somewhere to get a quick lunch. Each time I've ordered sandwiches, they have NEVER been as described on the menu - always missing key ingredients - even after asking the employes to check to make sure everything is as I ordered before I leave with my lunch . Very poor management!!!!

No masks worn by employees. He laughed when he asked me to step closer to him and I said I didn't want to step closer. Totally disrespectful and also against the current ordinance. Even the person handing you your ice cream, which is prepared out of view, is 100 percent maskless. I threw it away.

Hard to enjoy because they're almost never open. What kind of ice cream place closes at 5? They are also closed Tuesday and Wednesday. We waited till Thursday to go because of this and they were still closed.

Went to SweeTreats while visiting Highlands and Cashiers NC area for the weekend. It was a great treat after a little hike around Highlands. The greatest thing is that you can choose one of their delicious truffles and use it as a mixing. Also..if you order a cone... you will find a nice surprise at the bottom! They have a location in Marietta, GA as well!

Holy smokes. Best ice cream ever! Take a pass on kilwins for the ice cream and go here. Usually a wait but hang in there because you won't be disappointed.

My favorite ice cream on planet earth! I get the double raspberry chocolate truffle and add in almonds. Wow.

Good place to grab a quick bite. The muffalata used to be the best sando in Highlands . That was often the tipping point for me to go to Highlands for the weekend or not. They changed the bread, and made one of the best meals around subpar. A bummer. Still solid on the ice cream, but not the only game in town.

One of the best lunch places in Highlands. Excellent sandwiches and salads. They also serve onion dip and potato chips with all sandwiches and it is amazing. Friendly, clean and great location.

The ice cream is great but I like to come for the food. They have interesting lunch offerings and you can sit at a table with a view of the stream. I recommend this restaurant for lunch.
