Went here this past weekend to celebrate my birthday with my friend. We contacted Shaun the owner weeks in advance to reserve the Red Room (private room) for our celebration, and he confirmed. When we arrived on the night of our party, it turns out he booked another party in that room, and reserved the open space of the bar in the front for us instead. The fact that we had confirmed these details in the previous weeks to find that he had ‘confused’ his communication with another party was extremely disappointing. In fact, we chose to celebrate our birthday here because of the separate and private space… While Shaun did apologize and offered us a complimentary bottle of rose, it still kind of sucked that this happened. Since the room was booked until 11pm, there was nothing we could do but hang out in the open area instead and make the most of it. What I didn’t really like was that Shaun kept trying to advocate for the shared space in the main part of the bar as the ’sought out’ area of the bar. The reason we wanted the private room was because it was a private space, and the seating arrangement was a bit better - not as spaced out as the open area room (which has couches here and there, and not everyone could sit.) Also, my friend visited the bar a few weeks in advance to check out the space - and preferred The Red Room, which also influenced our decision to book this room. Regarding drinks, cocktail drinks are GOOD (~15 each). My friends ordered this punch with a flame, it was very tasty. However, my friends pointed out that the bartender was judgmental when they asked for a Long Island Iced Tea…. Even though we were pretty disappointed that we could not get the private space when we had reserved it in advance, we were still able to have a good time. Also they did not charge a cake fee, which was nice and we were able to store it in their fridge. Not sure if mixups like this happen often, but BEWARE if you are planning to reserve the private room here.

This place is awesome! Shuffle board, big space, funny and helpful staff, great choices on all spirits. You get you bathroom situation under control, come on. The doors don’t lock, or even fit the frame so you can’t close it or it pops open if someone uses the door next to it.

First of all, they overbooked my friend’s private room and we didn’t get to use it. It was unfortunate but we did get comped a free drink because of it. Lol the waitress shamed me for wanting a Long Island Iced Tea. I mean yeah it’s a trashy drink but look it was a Friday night after work I was ready to get wasted. The drinks are strong though, maybe too strong because my friend had to send hers back but then we got a free one. Overall a very nice place.

I met up with a friend for a couple of drinks here last weekend on a Saturday night. It was my first night out in NYC as a tourist. I’m glad this was my first experience. The atmosphere was inviting and fun. Almost intimate. The place quickly filled up as the night carried on, but it never felt overpacked. Bartenders, Lamar and Angel, were delightful. Lamar often beat to the music with the shakers, and I loved it. He even created a drink that wasn’t on the menu for me because I don’t typically drink and didn’t know what I’d like. Again, the vibe was chill and fun. The staff were personable and seems to enjoy being there. Drinks were great!

Good cocktails but super warm!!!! Place needs better airflow. Was kind of loud too on a Fri night so be warned. I've seen it quieter on the earlier part of the week.

Was really going back between 4 and 5 stars. The place gets really busy so if you don't like crowds or packed places this place isn't for you. More of a younger crowd (under 35). Good spot to go with friends for drinks. Cool decor. Location is a bit hidden as it's located in a basement

Fun bar and crowd. Bartender was very nice. It's a underground bar with a lay back feel to it. Cocktail menu is pretty decent. Many board games and fussball table as well.

Drinks were ok but the place was much smaller than I thought it would be. However, their french fries (I think they get their food from the Aussie place upstairs) were completely addicting. They have a shuffleboard table and a multi-game arcade machine. Interesting mix of patrons from private equity analysts to neighborhood artsy types. Overall the place felt kind of small and dated - which I guess is partly the point of a speakeasy-styled place.
