Swen’s at Snowpine Lodge was outstanding. The hotel itself is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, and the food and drinks completely exceeded our expectations. What made the night truly special was our server, Alfredo — an absolute gem. He turned a great meal into a perfect family experience. We’ll definitely be back.

A group of 7 ate here the Monday before Christmas. There weren't a lot of customers when we entered, and we were the last table to leave. There were definitely more employees than customers most of the night, which is why the experience was so strange. We ordered 3 octopus appetizers to start. The octopus itself was good and was warm. The octopus was accompanied by roasted potatoes. Some of the potatoes were warm, some were cold, and some were still frozen in the middle. FROZEN! How does that happen?!? The French onion soup came out after our entrees and was cold. You could tell it was hot at one time by the cheese melted on the side of the bowl. Apparently our waiter, Alfredo, forgot to bring it out. 4 of us had sea bass and the other 3 had duck. 1 of the sea bass was not warm and had to be sent back. The duck and the sea bass itself was good. We brought our own wine and were charged a total of $75 corkage which seemed high as there was no change of glasses and we opened/poured the wine ourselves. We had to hunt down our server a couple times. When we complained about the cold food, they brought out 2 salads - we didn't want or need salads. They did waive the cost of the soup. Unless we see a significant upswing of positive reviews, we won't be returning. Unfortunate, as we have had pretty good meals in years past.

Google
Lovely views of the mountain and delicious brunch. Servings are appropriately sized. Servers were delightful. Beautiful, welcoming atmosphere. Even for fine dining, I didn’t feel out of place in yoga pants in the morning.

Google
One of the nicest dinners that we have ever had! The food and service were outstanding. The atmosphere and scenery make Swen's a great place to meet, have a date, or entertain guests. We hope to return soon.

After a super fun day spring cross country skiing at Alta, we had a drink at the Snow Pine hotel at the bar the Gulch and then had an early dinner at Swen‘s. Loved the view, service and food was incredible! This is one of my new favorites. Everybody you gotta come up the canyon and get here! You won’t be disappointed. We had the pork chop, mountain trout and roasted carrots as well as the winter kale salad. Unbelievable!

Google
The host, server, chef, and staff are excellent! Wonderful service: very attentive, helpful, knowledgeable, and engaging. There were a total of 3 of us dining with breathtaking views of the ski slopes. A wedding was taking place below us on the lawn. Two of us had the halibut and one had the burger. Delicious piece of fish and cooked as perfectly as I've ever had. Tried the fried artichokes upon waiter suggestion. They did not disappoint and the sauce was yummy. The decor and seating are comfortable yet on trend. We will be back! Thank you SWEN's!

Google
It is a nice upscale restaurant at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon. The view looking up Collins Gulch and Albion Basin is spectacular. The food was wonderful and the service was attentive.

Google
My husband and I came to Swens for Christmas dinner and couldn’t have enjoyed our experience more! We both got the Christmas special which was a filet mignon with lobster on top. Truly I might have to say it was the best filet I’ve ever had. It was so delicious and savory! Our waiter was friendly, attentive, kind and quick. Music, lights, tables and chairs were all comfortable leading to a very memorable Christmas meal!

Yelp
My partner and I were enjoying a day at the spa and decided to take a break from relaxing to grab a bite to eat. Swen's was serving brunch and we were in the mood for exactly that! Perfection. The environment is upscale but not stuffy. I love the blue color on the walls with the wood accents on the ceiling-it's so pretty! It was kind of quiet, though-I think some background music might have helped add to the atmosphere. We shared a classic breakfast and they were able to accommodate our request for egg whites. I opted for bacon and it was just ok-nothing remarkable, but the potatoes were fantastic! I'd love to return and explore more menu items.

Yelp
Terrible brunch- serving food from sysco charging $20 a plate with the bare minimum cared to make it actually good. I tried to email management but no response. Service was ok- maybe she was just bummed to serve an empty restaurant with lackluster food. The cinnamon roll was dense, barely warm, hard to eat I dont think we finished it. Even my daughters pancakes were not very good. Its such a beautiful restaurant and location i think they must be riding on the fact that their hotel guests are stuck there with no other options? We tried a few other plates btw- no safe recommendation out of the 6.

Yelp
My bf and I came up here on a Saturday morning for their $25 buffet brunch. It was quite empty in the restaurant by 10:00! Apparently all the skiers come early. The ambiance is very cool in the winter with snow all around. This place is definitely upscale and wood lodge vibes. I thought the food was good but nothing exceptional. I really enjoyed the fruit selection and yogurt. They had pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, potato hash, muffins, bear claws, fruits, yogurt, oatmeal, bagels and English muffins. My bf said it was like an expensive continental breakfast. But I also give them credit for their location up in the mountains. You're paying for the location, ambiance and logistics of having breakfast near a ski resort,

Yelp
Sven's was a good place for breakfast and it was very quiet when I was there, so no issues getting a table. The service was very quick and the food was good. Nice views.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by Swen's! Located inside of Snowpine Lodge, I was expecting beautiful views and nice ambiance but I was blown away by how good the food was! Our server was very kind and encouraged us to split the side of whipped potatoes because it was big enough for the two of us. I appreciated her tip and loved that she wasn't trying to get us to spend more. Speaking of those whipped potatoes, they were the best I've ever had! I would go back just for that alone. The bread is complimentary and my dessert was divine! I recommend Swen's 100%!

Yelp
The restaurant is inside of Snowpine Lodge which reminds me of Aspen. First of all their bread is amazing, they give you butter, roasted garlic and garlic oil balsamic bread dipping. We ordered muscles, wedge salad which was big so we all shared, crispy Brussels sprouts and wagyu tomahawk. Tomahawk was smaller than I thought maybe because we shared it with 4 people (I could just share it with one other person) but it was cooked char medium rare, I like my wagyu more rare than regular steaks so it was perfect for me. Everything was delicious and I had a great dining experience, I will definitely go back there on my upcoming Utah trip this week.

Yelp
This restaurant is incredible! Whether you are staying at the snowpine or just looking for a romantic night out, this is the perfect place. Everything from the amazing food, perfect presentation, incredible view, and great service makes this place a must visit. We started out with the Brussels sprouts which were topped with a garlic aioli, cheese, and crunch potato chips. For entrees we had the pork chop and the halibut, as recommended by our waiter Skyler. Can't go wrong with either of those things. The halibut is probably the best I've ever had and the pork chop was incredibly tender. They have fantastic dessert options. We got the flourless chocolate cake and I would definitely get that again. Topped with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce. Dense and sooo good!! The mock tails are also very fun if you are into that. I would recommend the pineapple crush and the rosemary blues! Our waiter Skyler was very friendly and gave great recommendations! We also learned the the head chef here is the old Sundance head chef. So if you've been to Sundance and love it as much as I do, you can look forward to going to Swen's!

Yelp
Pretty solid place. A bit pricy but the food was really good. The pancakes were delicious and the two toasts were very flavorful. The hot chocolate was creamy too!! Fun place to eat at if you're staying at Snowpine Lodge.

Yelp
Grosssssssss! Fruit flies everywhere! Literally swarming all over this restaurant and when we approached manager he said "oh they started hatching a few weeks ago". Like it was no big deal! Maybe you should get a pest service to help you

Yelp
Had dinner here and it was more than we expected from a small ski town. Reviews were all over the place but per the recommendation of someone before we got into town we decided to give it a go. My husband had the filet and said it was good quality, but not in his top five all-time from across the globe. I had the smoked duck, which although very tasty, did not have much of a smoke flavor. What made our experience was the great service. Everyone from the hostess, to the server (HT), to the food runners, to the worker at a desk by the entrance...just super pleasant and welcoming. Hard to come by dedicated hospitality like there's these days and greatly appreciate their efforts.

Yelp
Went for the breakfast Buffett - pretty pricey for a limited menu. The location and the view is amazing. Service was sort of hit and miss. They seemed lacking direction.

Yelp
We had the most magnificent time celebrating my birthday at Swen's. The braised short rib so delicious! Beet salad with fried goat cheese oh my. Can you say apple galette. Yes baby, it's the best! Thank you so much for a great time!

Yelp
Made a reservation. Arrived. Guy said it's an hour wait. Said we had reservation. Showed him the reservation in my app. Kid at front asked the manager and manager snapped out "If you wanna wait 2hrs too bad" Not good horrible vibes

Yelp
Food is incredible. Everything our entire party ordered was delicious - trout, short ribs, pork chop, Brussel sprouts, pizza, and berries in custard for dessert. The decor is beautiful and aligns well with the Alta feel.

Yelp
Food options ranged from steak to fried chicken to pizza to salads. So much to choose from. I had the bone in pork chop which was outstanding! Also enjoyed their wine by the glass options and all were reasonably priced. Service was good, view of the mountain from the table was amazing. Very impressed.

Yelp
Love the beet salad with fried goat cheese!!! Definitely recommend. Brussel sprouts are to die for, absolutely delicious food. The experience is great too with a beautiful view of the mountains.
