We have now stayed at the Swift House Inn twice. Once in a smaller room in the main Lodge and once in a bit of a larger room where the restaurant is. We've enjoyed our stay both times. When we visit Middlebury in the future we will definitely look to stay there. Keep in mind the breakfast they offer for staying there is absolutely phenomenal. Don't make you as much food as you want and whatever you want. The staff bent over backwards to make us feel comfortable. We had an amazing server named Bager who took care of us each day. Wow you made us feel at home even while away.

I stayed here a number of times over the summer and it was a great experience each time. The rooms are expansive and well-outfitted; the staff is very gracious and does a great job of remembering your preferences and making sure you are comfortable; and the restaurant is excellent. It's a very low-key and well-designed refuge. I was surprised and grateful when, during my second visit to the restaurant, a couple of weeks after my first, the server remembered a minor preference I'd expressed the first time and took care of it for me without my asking. That kind of thing was common here—small touches that made me feel welcomed and comfortable. I gave one minor piece of feedback and got a fast response from the owner thanking me for the suggestion. All around, a great and comfortable place to be.

Nothing but good things to say about the Swift House and their amazing staff. My wife and I were lucky enough to stay at the inn last summer for our wedding and returned this weekend for a one year anniversary celebration. We are continually impressed with the top-notch hospitality, amazing guest rooms, delicious food, and beautiful grounds. We are already looking forward to returning and hope that we can make our stay at the Swift House a tradition for our anniversary. Thank you to Matthew, Serena and the rest of the staff for another great weekend.

A Bed & Breakfast Fit for a Queen I’ve visited Swift House Inn in both summer and winter, and each stay has been nothing short of magical. I’ve stayed in their most elegant rooms with beautiful balconies, cozy fireplaces, and views that melt away stress. Morning here start with an amazing breakfast, and evenings I’m ready for the finest dining in Vermont. The wine selection is superb, thoughtfully curated and perfect for pairing with seasonal dishes. This year I enjoyed Saturday morning somatic yoga and a live DJ for “Fancy Friday,” adding a fun twist to the peaceful setting, the perfect place to gather your thoughts and restore your peace of mind. I can’t wait for next year’s trip, I’ll bring my fur baby and sneak off with a few fresh pastries for my flight. Swift House Inn isn’t just a bed and breakfast, it’s an escape that feels like it was designed for royalty.

Fantastic inn. Loved everything about this place. Is was clean, well-kept, and charming. It was a great weekend stay, and the Swifthouse inn made it even more memorable. the staff were friendly and the breakfast was tasty. The property was pretty and great for a family outing. We all loved it. This hotel was highly recommended and I see why. A quintessential Vermont inn.

This is a truly exceptional Inn. The rooms are large, comfortable, and well appointed, the grounds are picture-postcard perfect, the food and drinks is outstanding, and the staff is friendly and interesting. You can tell the owners are doing a LOT of things right. We're expecting to be frequent visitors to the area and will absolutely be staying here again.||Some specifics: The blueberry scones are the best we've ever had, We had 2 dinners at Jessica's restaurant and all of the 6 different dishes we tried were excellent... the duck was absolutely the best prepared duck we have EVER had. And the bar! Their mixologist Laura has a rare talent for creating a truly special cocktail, she makes a lot of her own ingredients (bitters, hot sauce) sourced from local plants, and it comes through in the exceptional quality of the drinks.

This was our first stay at the Swift Inn and it was so incredible. We were on a working holiday and picking up the kiddo from a language immersion program at Middlebury and after a disastrous stay at the Middlebury Inn a couple years ago, needed a new option. We stayed in the Mansfield Room in the carriage house, which I highly recommend - nice and big - huge bathroom with a great jet tub and plenty of space for us to spread out for 3 nights. We had our own patio and I was able to work there one day for a bit but it was too warm. I do wish their were more common areas to hang in - the central space was in the main house but it also doubled as a restaurant and bar - the porch here was very comfy and there are chairs around the well maintained property! The hammock was a key location for me and it appeared no one else ever used it! We hung out in the bar before dinner and Sara and the resident mixologist were lovely - Laura makes fantastic cocktails and we had a blast chatting! The dinner at Jessica's was a highlight for us and we loved speaking to the owner Matthew who brought us some bubbly at the end of our meal for our anniversary, we also loved our server, Sara. The breakfast was ok - two morning we had the buffet which as someone gluten free there weren't too many options - so many good looking baked goods that I could not have but the granola was top notch! One day we had a prepared meal and I got an omelet but it failed to taste like much - they also informed me that they had gluten free toast (which was quality) and could make GF pancakes so there were more options. After staying in Brattleboro at the Inn on Putney Road, it's hard to compare breakfasts haha - Paul at that inn is superb but the Swift Inn is catering to a lot more folks, so you have to factor that in. We loved walking into town from the Swift Inn and it's also a short drive to the Lincoln Peak Winery and Drop Inn brewery - next time we hope to get some hiking in and explore even more of the area!

Swift House Inn is my go-to escape in Vermont. I’ve stayed in both summer and winter, enjoying elegant rooms with balconies, cozy fireplaces, espresso makers, deep soak tubs and stress-melting views. Mornings begin with an amazing breakfast, and evenings bring the finest dining and a superb wine selection.||On-site, I’ve loved “Fancy Friday” with DJ Serena followed by Saturday morning somatic yoga. Nearby, you can explore charming downtown Middlebury, stroll along the Otter Creek Falls, tour local breweries and wineries, or enjoy scenic drives through Vermont’s Green Mountains.||It’s the perfect mix of relaxation, fine dining, and local adventure. I can’t wait to return with my fur baby in tow for another royal getaway.
