7 kid-friendly wineries and breweries in Margaret River, Australia - SilverKris

"Designed with families in mind, this light-hearted estate keeps the wine program approachable for novice drinkers and pairs offerings with wood-fired pizzas. The grounds feature a large wooden playground, outdoor seating and an old-school tyre swing, and the cellar door backyard frequently hosts live local music on Sundays that contributes to a casual picnic atmosphere." - Priyanka C. We were gifted the Backyard stories experience and today we were indulged/ immersed in a fabulous treat which started with Scott taking us to the vineyards with a glass of Prosecco and telling us the history of the vines, first planted in 1984. Scott was incredibly knowledgeable, interesting and charming! We were then treated to a sumptuous 4 course lunch with paired wines! Each course was generous and delicious and the wines were delectable. A very special thank-you to Scott who was so attentive and make the day at Swings so wonderful! Thank you Scott. 🍷

We had such a wonderful time at Swings and Roundabouts. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how beautiful the place is. The setting is full of character with charming architecture and lovely scenery all around. It felt both welcoming and special. The highlight of our visit was without a doubt the wine tasting. Nacho, our wine guide, made the experience unforgettable. He is not only extremely knowledgeable about the wines but also took the time to explain everything in a way that was engaging and easy to follow. He was warm, approachable, and made us feel completely at ease throughout the tasting. On top of that, he speaks perfect English and Spanish, which added an extra layer of comfort and connection for us. The wines themselves were excellent. Each one had its own unique character, and we left with a deeper appreciation for the winemaking process. Overall, it was a memorable visit that combined beautiful surroundings, delicious wines, and outstanding hospitality. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area.

Swings and Roundabouts in is a fantastic spot for a family lunch! The lovely fire in the middle of the restaurant creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere, perfectly complementing the lovely ambience throughout. We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious pizzas, which were fresh and flavorful. The place is very popular with young families, especially because of the playground, so I highly recommend booking ahead to secure your spot. The EV chargers were not working when we visited which was unfortunate. Overall, a wonderful experience that’s perfect for a relaxed and enjoyable meal.

Went on a weekday (tue) and the place was crowded. As we are a big group, Even though we had reservations but the lady staff told us to sit anywhere and walk off which was really rude. When we found out the truth ( was led by another guy staff), other walk-in guests has already taken our reservation seats and won’t leave. Fortunately we got another table which was good enough for us. Service communication clearly needed to be improved. Food was ordered on app and was timely serve. Food (esp the duck) and pizza was great. Wont recommend the shrimps/prawn. We tried the wine tasting (6 for $10) staff was friendly and patient to explain the wine. Eventually we brought 2 bottles. To be honest, the outdoor scenery is good. Children have playground and able to roam about. Adults can sit by the outdoor swing-bench to enjoy the wine. Weather topped the whole experience off! Enjoy

What an incredible place to visit! Swings & Roundabouts has such an amazing setup – from the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere that makes you instantly feel at home. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and made our wine tasting experience truly enjoyable. We sampled a great selection of wines and couldn’t resist taking home a couple of bottles of their excellent quality vintages. The venue itself is stunning – a beautiful outdoor setting with plenty of space to relax and take in the views. On a cold winter’s day, the cosy fire pit inside is the perfect spot to settle in with a glass of wine. Whether you’re there for a casual tasting, a lazy afternoon with friends, or just to enjoy the scenery, this place has it all. Highly recommend adding it to your Margaret River itinerary!

Great family restaurant and winery. Our choice of the share platter was ideal for up to 3 people and as it was we ended up taking some home for tea. Beware the local bird life - they like nuggets. The parrots wait until the table is empty but the kookaburras are brazen thieves.

Food and drinks here were amazing. The wood-fired pizza was too good. Not only was the food great, but the atmosphere and scenery definitely made the visit worth it. Really fun and well-designed playgrounds for kids. The view of the vineyards was very pleasant too. Don’t miss it if you get a chance to come!

Awesome vibe to the place! Excellent pizzas and the staff did a top job. Make sure to book ahead as it gets very busy, but we arrived without a booking and still managed to get a table inside. Be patient—the wait time was around 40 minutes for food but it was definitely worth it. The kids were happily entertained playing in the park anyway.

Yelp
Delicious food albeit slightly lacking salt. You order at the bar, giving them your table number and then they bring out the food to you. Generally, that kind of service makes me think the place is not as high-quality as full table service however this one surprised me. The pumpkin salad definitely needed more salt and the curry coating on the pumpkin was a little strange with the greens, however with a little salt, and then taking some of the hot honey from the other dish, it worked well together. Our second choice was the bruschetta with roasted pears, blue cheese, cream, roasted candied, walnuts, arugula, and hot honey. It also needed a little salt and once we added that it was delicious. The toast was a very thick slice probably an inch and maybe 7 inches long or more. Cutting it in half was perfect for two of us. We did not order pizza, although it appeared to be Neapolitan style with the floppy center. Others seemed to enjoy it. The place is rather large, lots of tables inside and out.

Yelp
We went to this place as we saw it was popular, there were loads of car parked in the car park. It was popular indeed. We ordered the pizza and it was good, but it's on the pricey side. Compared to the size and the ingredients on the pizza. It's Pet and family friendly and there are loads of outside area for you to sit on the grass.

Yelp
After being away for a few weeks doing my best Leyland's Brothers impression on air planes both abroad and interstate, I organised a weekend away down to Margaret River with my girlfriend. It had been a few years since I'd headed down that way to do anything else aside from fishing and it was a nice surprise to see how much it'd had changed and grown. We got into town in the early evening and was happy to find that Swings had availability for a booking. We had a little difficulty finding a car park with how busy it was in town but ended up getting a park less than 25 metres from the front door. We walked inside and was greeted as staff walked past but found it a little awkward with the set up for patrons walking in, as it's more like a bar in that you gravitate to the beer taps rather than having a set place for folks to wait to be seated. I guess though that it's a Tap House first. The service was good and without fuss and the food was good too. The Forefathers English Brown Ale was nice but I wasn't as fond of how it complimented the food but that's my fault, as I'm a sucker for a good brown ale. The Harissa Chicken Wings and the Sautéed Mushrooms were nice as was the Chermoula Braised Lamb Ribs. The only thing that was below par was the Mac and Cheese as it lacked flavour and could have had a touch of salt. The issue was there was no salt and pepper on the table, which is fine but it tasted bland for both my girlfriend and I. I'd happily go back there again though, as overall it was good and I'd like to try a pizza next time. Cheers! Dave.

Yelp
Cute little winery in Margaret River. This came as a recommendation from a young hipster chef the night before so thought we would try this on our way down to Prevelly. Having such a sweet tooth, I immediately fell in love with their cane cut fortified wine - was a shame I only purchased the one bottle. Recommend for a drop in.

Yelp
We had a great stop here on the way back to Perth after a wine tasting weekend in Margy. Loved it! There was live music, delicious wood-fired pizzas (Wednesday - Sunday) and decent wine. We grabbed a bite and sat out the back. Alas the weather was average, otherwise we would've sat in the gardens. Wines: pretty good, not amazing.

Yelp
Disappointing!!! Returned to a great venue but very disappointed this time. Kids macaroni was tasteless and dry. Pizza very very over rated. Ordered 3 pizzas one with prawns try and find them under tomatoes so really just fresh tomato pizza others limited toppings. expensive for a not so good lunch.

Yelp
Wood fired pizzas from 12-3 on Sundays (maybe Saturdays too), well priced and the pizzas are SO good! Worth checking out! Definitely head there if you're away for the weekend with friends - perfect place for chilling out for the afternoon.

Yelp
Living locally, we often drop into swings given it's laid back atmosphere, kid friendly things to keep them occupied and large lawn area overlooking a Neighbor vineyard. With a choice of seating areas, supplied picnic rugs & big bean bags you can get lost for time enjoying the sunshine or shady gums. The coffee is hit and miss, sometimes cold and one morning we waited about 45 minutes at a seemingly quiet time. The staff aren't that over friendly or cheerful and don't expect a wide range of sweets/cakes on offer or other snacks for your morning tea; Pizza is their speciality and only available from 11 or so. Super yummy but a little over priced. Haven't tried their wine yet... Overall the relaxed setting makes up for the somewhat frosty customer service.

Yelp
A morning spent with my friend Nd our kids at Injidup beach and on our way back to Smiths Beach made a last minute decision to call in for wood fired pizza and live music on the lawns here. So glad we did. Kids plAyed cricket and lounged in beanbags whilst we enjoyed the view, company, and wine along with awesome pizzas.
