Swinton Estate (Ripon, Yorkshire) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Swinton Park is impressive enough: a beautifully picturesque 18th-century castle surrounded by some 200 acres of lake-dotted parkland. But that’s only the core of the greater Swinton Estate, which expands to an eye-watering 20,000 acres and encompasses a number of freestanding cottages as well as Swinton Bivouac, a collection of lodges and yurts providing an uncommonly rustic glamping experience." - Tablet Hotels

We enjoyed a wonderful one night stay at Swinton Park Hotel. From a very friendly, warm welcome to checking out with a 'borrowed' umbrella for one last walk around the amazing grounds I could not fault the service we received during our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the use of the spa facilities which is a great bonus and a treat. Our suite was very comfortable with a huge bed that I could have slept in fir a week. A sumptuous breakfast brought it all to an end nicely. We hope to visit again. Thank you to all the friendly and very efficient staff.

Staying at Swinton Park Hotel was like being adopted into Downton Abbey for a little while! We were thrilled to find we had been given an upgrade when we arrived and our room was superb. It featured a generously-sized bed but also had a couch, a table with chairs, a closet with complimentary padded jackets (in case we were cold outside) and a massive bathroom - with a chaise longue and robes. It was fabulous. The windows had shutters as well as curtains making it properly dark. We had a view at the front over the courtyard and adjacent field. At its heart, the hotel has a great family atmosphere with family portraits and commendations scattered across the walls. The games room features a full size snooker table which we had to try out, but there's an amazing lounge and bar area too for relaxing and sharing cocktails. The grounds are fantastic with a deer park and wonderful woodland walks. I looked in at the spa and pool area, but didn't use them. However, they looked pristine and the staff made it clear we were welcome to use the pool and gym whilst we stayed (Spa treatments need booking in advance). We'd go again without hesitation as it was so relaxing and friendly, yet luxurious and special too.

I received a voucher off my sons for the spa earlier in the year for my birthday treat, never got round to using it, then my husband’s birthday came round and we thought we would use it and pay extra for a stop over in the hotel. So glad we did, place is amazing, best spa break we have ever had, the food in the terrace bar was so good and plentiful, breakfast was so nice too, the rooms are amazing, well equipped and spacious, so clean and comfortable too. We stopped in the Jervaux room, and the personal touch of a card and choccies for my husband was so appreciated too. Would highly recommend this hotel, staff so attentive and friendly, which always helps.

We recently stayed the night at Swinton Estate in Newby Hall. Everything was absolutely immaculate from the service to the estate. On arrival the doorman was happy to direct us to parking and immediately offered to take our bags. At check in the lady was full of smiles. The same gentleman who offered to take our bags then explained all of the hotels facilities and showed us to our room which was absolutely beautiful. We had dinner at the Terrace and every member of staff we dealt with were fantastic, big smiles and amazing customer service all round. The food itself were to die for especially the Venison Tacos. At breakfast we were greeted promptly with more big smiles and a lady so happy to talk us through the menu. The pastry selection was gorgeous! We also used the Gym and Spa The gym was well equipped and a staff member even popped in to offer to change the air con which was much appreciated. The spa was so well equipped with multiple pools, steam rooms and saunas. The lady who greeted us explained everything and made us feel so welcome from the get go. The changing rooms had ample hair dryers and straighteners as well as private cubicles to change in. On checkout the same lady who checked us in was yet again full of smiles and really topped off what was already such a wonderful escape. Thank you to the entire Swinton team, you were all fantastic and we hope to see you all soon.

I had a wonderful stay at Swinton Park Hotel in Ripon. The staff were absolutely amazing – friendly, attentive, and always willing to help with anything I needed. My room was spacious, spotless, and perfectly equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The whole atmosphere was peaceful and elegant, making it a truly relaxing experience. I’m already looking forward to returning to explore more of the beautiful estate next time!

Where do I start? They’ve thought of everything to make your stay a taste of luxury. From the coats in your wardrobe (in case you forgot yours) to the lovely toiletries in the bathroom, the glass of mulled wine when you check in to the waiter service by the pool! All amazing.|The grounds are stunning with guided walks and the birds of prey are fantastic. |The pool was a really great size and the sauna/steam rooms were a great way to relax. |Afternoon tea was expensive but well worth it as a treat. |We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and what a treat it was.

Just returned from a family weekend stay at Swindon Estate hotel where we celebrated our twins 30th birthdays. We booked four rooms which were all fantastically equipped and very clean. The spa facilities, gym, pool were enjoyed by all. The food was exceptional as was the service throughout. We have stayed at similar hotels in this area and we all feel this is the best by far….highly recommend Swinton Hall Estate.

Lovely place for special stay, expensive but paying for the grounds and gardens. Room we stayed in was clean tidy and had all amenities slightly old fashioned but understand can’t put plugs where needed in old building. Snooker table was added bonus darts board needs upgrade. New spa was great but very busy, although was school holiday week. Food nice but expensive, £4.50 for small cup coffee in spa.
