Swinton Estate

Our stay at Swinton Estate this January was the perfect escape. The hotel and its grounds are beautiful, offering a truly unique and picturesque setting. The spa was a highlight of our trip, with wonderful facilities and a relaxing atmosphere. The service across the entire estate was faultless and friendly. We were particularly impressed by the expertise of the sommelier, who was both knowledgeable and engaging. It's the small details and the wonderful staff that make this place shine. We have visited many times and it keeps exceeding our expectations.

A superb place where the food and setting is superb. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for you. Barman Oliver was a great lad with good chat and stories. Room was superb and spotless. We would definitely return. Thank you so much for an excellent experience.

We attended the Luminescence Light Trail whilst staying in the area. We loved it! It was great to be able to take the dog. The trail was so well organised and signposted. It was great to see a bit of the Swinton Estate, we plan to come back in the summer and treat ourselves to a stay in the hotel for a birthday treat.

Pros: - Great grounds to explore with nice lakes - Close to a lot of beautiful countryside and villages / market towns - Staff friendly - Great amenities such as plush bathrobes Cons: - Netflix and Amazon could not connect - we sought help from staff who tried to fix on the TV but were unable to, said they would look at the router and call us but never called back or fixed it. Slightly annoying when wanting to relax in evenings - The hot water for a shower was not really very hot - Could not access the gardens in the evenings during our stay because of Luminescence, which is a ticketed event - At this price point, rooms could do with more amenities, such as mini fridges

We recently stayed the night at Swinton Estate in Newby Hall. Everything was absolutely immaculate from the service to the estate. On arrival the doorman was happy to direct us to parking and immediately offered to take our bags. At check in the lady was full of smiles. The same gentleman who offered to take our bags then explained all of the hotels facilities and showed us to our room which was absolutely beautiful. We had dinner at the Terrace and every member of staff we dealt with were fantastic, big smiles and amazing customer service all round. The food itself were to die for especially the Venison Tacos. At breakfast we were greeted promptly with more big smiles and a lady so happy to talk us through the menu. The pastry selection was gorgeous! We also used the Gym and Spa The gym was well equipped and a staff member even popped in to offer to change the air con which was much appreciated. The spa was so well equipped with multiple pools, steam rooms and saunas. The lady who greeted us explained everything and made us feel so welcome from the get go. The changing rooms had ample hair dryers and straighteners as well as private cubicles to change in. On checkout the same lady who checked us in was yet again full of smiles and really topped off what was already such a wonderful escape. Thank you to the entire Swinton team, you were all fantastic and we hope to see you all soon.

Have been several times to visit The Terrace and always amazing. We did the Luminescence Trail - it's incredible. You have to experience this. It's magical for adults and children alike. Wear boots, it's muddy in places and dress warmly. Enjoy!

Afternoon tea was absolutely disgusting. Service was atrocious, waited almost 1 hour for sandwichs. Then another 1 hour for scone and cakes. Walked out after chasing cakes twice so left with a goodie bag which was a joke. Never to return. Really disappointed after travelling all the way from Staffordshire.

Just returned from a family weekend stay at Swindon Estate hotel where we celebrated our twins 30th birthdays. We booked four rooms which were all fantastically equipped and very clean. The spa facilities, gym, pool were enjoyed by all. The food was exceptional as was the service throughout. We have stayed at similar hotels in this area and we all feel this is the best by far….highly recommend Swinton Hall Estate.
