Stayed here last night and absolutely loved it! It's an adorably quant little place, the owner is incredibly kind, and the service was fantastic. My only critique is that we ordered a pet-friendly room and there were many nooks and crannies my cats were able to hide in when it was time to leave in the morning.

If we could give 0 stars we would. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The room had NO heating, when we returned from dinner the room was the same temperature as outside. Note: there is snow on the ground. Aka the room was a freezer. We informed the front desk, and he said, "I will find a wrench if you know how to fix the heater." When that didn't work he said he would send someone to the basement to fix it. In a 1/2 hour we called the desk again and he said he thinks he got the heat working in the room next door... when we explained that wouldn't help us he said he would find space heaters. Next thing we see is him heading to the restaurant next door. In a few minutes high school boys in restaurant uniforms came with the restaurant space heaters that the kid announced he knew the heater worked bc he had just unplugged it from the kitchen. When I remarked that the handwritten sign on the heater said don't turn up above 72 was a bit concerning, he informed me that not to worry, the sign was meant for restaurant staff to not crank the heat in the kitchen. We decided to warm up in the hot tub, only to be told that it didn't work. The shower curtain had a hole in it and the room wasn't very clean. At checkout, we called for assistance with adjusting our bill. The housekeeper came with an attitude. We asked for a discount. She got on the phone with her boss who said to give us 20.00 off of our bill. She removed a 20 from the till and slapped it on the counter. We do NOT recommend staying at this hotel.

This place is so cute! It's like stepping back in time. You get to park right in front of your room. They have real keys and the funnest place to eat right across the parking lot. It's old but clean and charming.

Great place for families they have a little playground and a pool. My kids loved it. Between the hotel and the restaurant I thought it was the classic American experience.

This hotel is okay if you really need to stay in Heber City. It was centrally located in town with good parking. However, we were disappointed to find out that the hot tub was broken, and had been for quite some time. The hotel had plenty of opportunities to tell us this but didn't until after we had checked in. In fact, when we checked in, the guy at the desk told me that my room key also provided access to the hot tub... Strange considering we found out it had been broken for weeks. As the only amenity this hotel provides it's a bit off side to not advise guests about this. The bed was okay, but the room was so cold and took a very long time to warm up; they do not leave the heat on or heat the room before you arrive. Overall it was okay for a one night stay but I would not stay again.

Google
My room was spotless, the bed was comfy, and the price was right. The microwave popcorn and discount card to the Dairy Keen were the cherries on top. Thank you!

Google
This small motel is cute, quaint, and clean. The staff was extremely nice and funny, and the rooms are great for a 3 star hotel. The perfect place to rest up between hiking and driving!

Google
We needed a last minute motel in Heber and I was so glad to find this place!!! It's a great example of what motels used to be. VERY clean without smelling like chemicals. Well lit parking area, in the heart of their old town district. Little touches and details in the rooms made it very nice. This place has character and you can tell the (very pleasant) owner takes great pride in it! Would be great for families on a budget, with a kids play area, pool, and indoor Jacuzzi. You absolutely must go to the magical Dairy Keen right next door, which is also family owned and took me back to my childhood in the best way possible. I liked it so much, I wrote a review days later which I rarely do! I also read a negative review on here complaining about the quirks and thought: Buddy, if you want the same old, modern, plain, boring, lifeless, Hampton Inn experience, why the heck did you stay at a motel?!?! This place is awesome, seriously ignore that guy.

Yelp
Very nice Inn, they pay attention to details, Ms. Kim is an excellent point of reference for what to do in and around Herber City. Clean room, decorative amenities is a plus, very quiet area, if you are hungry there is a taco stand just down the block and it's good too. Thank you Ms. Kim for a beautiful place and stay

Yelp
Great hotel, but where are the mountains? I paid good money to come here, and people keep telling me to go to Switzerland. Next you're gonna tell me the moon landing is real.

Yelp
No breakfast, no fitness center, no room maintenance, unsafe practices and unsanitary, no daily house cleaning services, and are so cheap they don't leave the fridge on. Going to any motel, I would expect these things and not be upset, but those also cost $50 a night. For $140 a night (what I paid at Swiss Alps), I expect some kind of luxury, at least an apple I can grab in the morning? Multiple items in our room were broken: our room window had no screen and was left unlocked by staff, the curtain rod was unattached, and the hook for towels was ripped off the wall. The mini fridge and coffee maker is in the bathroom right beside the toilet....extremely unsanitary and unsafe. Lastly, everyone has 1 physical key that allows them into their room, the pool area, and to the vending machines...meaning that everyone has the same key. What is keeping the room next door from opening your own room in the middle of the night? Unsettling. Overall, it was extremely outdated and overpriced. If you are planning a Scuba trip through any training facility: Go through the headache. Book a lower priced, nicer room down the road and drive over to Swiss Alps to meet with your instructors. It will be worth the hassle.

Yelp
Clean, pretty building in Swiss motifs. Room had everything plus. Very fair rates, & ice cream restaurant right next door. Walking distance to Melvin's Sports Bar

Yelp
It doesn't get better than Swiss Alps Inn! We booked our room 3 months in advance. Mainly because we can park out motorcycles outside our front door. And the location is smack down on Main St! When you check in on Yelp- you get 10% off at Dairy Keen next door! We booked the king sized room & it felt like my husband was on a different continent when we laid in bed. The bed is absolutely cozy & I'm bummed I only had the chance to enjoy sleeping in it for 5 hours til we had to load everything back up on our bikes to continue our journey and beat any possibilities of rain. Staff is amazing. Our room had an actual tub- which I planned on using. But didn't. Next time we pass thru again- definitely staying here.

Yelp
Clean rooms but the rooms could use some updating. We stayed here when visiting Heber city.Great prices for the area. Everything in this town is pricey.I would recommend staying here.

Yelp
We lucked out 7/20/23 grabbing the last 2 rooms at Swiss alps. Our road trip to Wyoming was delayed and we needed to stop for a night in Utah. We found Swiss Alps on an online booking site We needed two rooms. I called the Inn directly and was greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. She booked our room and by calling direct we saved a few dollars Enough to cover breakfast the next morning ! Anyway we arrived and got checked in. I have to say I have never been more surprised by all the little thoughtful details placed in the squeaky clean rooms. The towels were bright white , thick and high quality. The room came equipped with a coffee maker , coffee and hot chocolate mix. There was a microwave and a complimentary package of microwave popcorn! The vanity had quality shampoo conditioner and soap. Not the basic type you find on roadside motels. A blow dryer and Kleenex provided and what really got me was a little wicker basket filled with two neatly rolled wash clothes. A sign above them stated "stained towels for your dirty jobs ". These are clean in great condition wash clothes with minor stains. Probably a guest used remove make up that left a stain and laundry couldn't remove the stain. Anyway I bring make up wipes for the purpose of not ruining towels so I was pretty happy to have a real fresh wash cloth to wash up with and not worry about ruining it. The shower water pressure which is key to me enjoying my stay was strong and refreshing. The bed was high quality firm but plush and oh so comfy. The rate of the Inn was very reasonable , location was prime and room 26 and 27 were quiet. Zero street noise. The gentleman that checked us in had our keys ready and receipt waiting for us when we arrived. Took all of 2 minutes. He was funny too. Told us to dial ext 135 no matter what the hour is if we needed anything. He also encouraged us to call even if we didn't need anything. He said wake up his nephew at 3am Just to check if he will answer the phone. He had us in stitches. He gave us the run down on the ice/ soda vending room and pool hot tub area. Your room key opens both. Additionally pool towels are available at the pool. No need to use your room towels. I didn't use the pool or hot tub but wanted to share this info. Unfortunately we were just there for one night and had to leave early. We were also allowed to park our trailer in the large parking lot behind the Dairy Keen. A 10 second walk from our door. I highly recommend The Swiss Alps.

Brenda B.

Yelp
A favorite place to stay. Locally owned. Small. Quaint. Comfortable. The strong water pressure in the shower is outstanding!

Kathy H.

Yelp
This place is right off the main road but still quiet. The temperature of the pool was perfect and we loved that it was covered. Right next door you can get ice cream, burgers and corn dogs. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Yelp
We stayed at Swiss Alps on on a Friday evening. It is a family-run establishment and you can tell the owners truly care. Everything was clean and the owners were happy to answer all of our questions about the area. Although the furniture was a bit outdated, the price was more than fair and still exceeded our expectations given we booked a motel, not the Ritz Carlton. They actually provided multiple clean towels and pillows, so we didn't even have to ask for more. It is centrally located and there are a couple restaurants and a Kroger (Smith's) grocery store nearby. We would definitely recommend Swiss Alps Inn.

Todd H.

Yelp
It's a nice hotel that is well kept but I have one gripe that I have to share. Checkout is at 11 and housekeeping was banging on my door at 0930 and woke my whole family up. Granted I didn't have the do not disturb sign on the door however I shouldn't have to do that in order to not get woke up in such a rude manner. They have around 10 rooms in total and feel they could do better with this.

Yelp
We got in late. The manager had taped our key to the front door to get in to our room. That made a late check in very easy. We backed in and our car was very close to our door, which made unloading and loading luggage very quick. They had a spa that opened with the room key. A nice soak after a 14 road trip and Ice Castles excursion was really nice. I like that they didn't close the spa at a certain time. The bed was a little firm but my boyfriend and I slept really well. Check out was easy as well with a key drop. We had also purchased a family cookbook from the lobby with lots of tasty sounding recipes from the restaurant next door. Very relaxed family run establishment. Would visit again.

Yelp
This place is adorable! Owner is delightful...very friendly and helpful. Close to so many great trails, ski areas in winter, etc. Spent Thanksgiving week there and really couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Walking distance to restaurants, as well as great burgers and shakes at The Dairy Keen next door. I loved that I could park right in front of my room. Very cozy and comfortable. Thank you for a nice stay!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this cozy little inn. The fact that it was dog friendly was another plus. The location was very convenient since there were quite a few restaurants by the inn. There's even a little playground area with swings and a climbing area for kids. The room I stayed in was so spacious. It had 1 king bed and 1 queen bed. The bathroom sink counter had so much space for our stuff and even though there wasn't a closet, there was a clothes rack with so many hangers to hang your clothes and it wasn't in the way. The bathroom consisted of a bath tub with a shower and a toilet and was also quite large, the sink was right outside the door. If you wanted privacy to change, there was enough room to change in the bathroom easily without bumping into anything. The room was well equipped with necessities needed for your stay, as well as other items for convenience, like 2 bedside tables with lamps that had built in outlets and on the side of the bed without the bedside table there's a wall outlet. The TV was located on top of a dresser for additional clothing storage. My stay was very pleasant and the staff were also very friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Such a wonderful and welcoming motel. We arrived late and our keys and a welcome note were taped to the hotel's front door. We were traveling with a moving truck and towing a car, so the owner came out into the rain once we arrived to move some cars to make space for us to park. We were so appreciative. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept so well. We would definitely return and highly recommend you stop in.

Esther W.

Yelp
Overpriced dive. Dirty carpet. Expired mattresses (lumpy, hole/dips in center, edges compress...no support). Either bed or mattress lop-sided with head-end lower. They have a basket with stained wash clothes for what they call your dirty jobs, but the towels and wash clothes hanging in bathroom were stained too. You can see in the bathroom window from the alley outside. We had to rig up something to prevent someone being able to peep in the window. Decor is old, which wouldn't be an issue if they didn't charge such HIGH prices. Went to hot-tub area and a huge wood bee flew out at me. Front desk clerk was friendly and outside was quaint. Found motel to be an extremely poor value.

Yelp
Very friendly. Comfortable bed. Great price. The water pressure is not very good but what motel is

Yelp
Clean, comfortable and friendly. Not to mention cute. We stopped in Heber City during one of those road trips where you don't know where you're going end up each day until you get there. We picked the Swiss Alps Inn because it's "cute" and it turned out to be a great choice. The proprietor was friendly and gave us the "after labor day but before ski season" rate. The room was clean, beds comfortable, bathroom well stocked and my travel partner was pleased to see there was a hair drier. It seemed more like the guest room at a friends place than a typical hotel. One more example of how small local hotels are usually better than the big chains.

Yelp
Clean, cozy, and the the customer service was above and beyond. Loved the personal touches such as Swiss Alps hot coca and the painted headboards. Thanks for a great stay.

Yelp
Love this place , beds are amazing and the rooms are spotless !! The staff is great and personable ! Would definitely recommend Swiss Alps !!

Yelp
What amazing service! We were up in Heber for a music festival, was calling around looking for hotels. The man who answered the phone - who is one of the owners because it is a family run business (i believe) was SO kind and accommodating. When we got there, he remembered me over the phone and was so nice, gave us a discount coupon to the restaurant next door, and was equally as pleasant when we checked out. HIGHLY recommend. Local family business!

Yelp
What a great place to stay for a couple days. Central to a lot of restraunts and homestead crater for diving. People who work here are super easy to work with. Give them a try worth your money and stay.

Theresa M.

Yelp
The hotel is reasonably priced and very clean. My husband and I have stayed at least three times in the last 2 years together; I have stayed by myself on my way to Sturgis last summer. Every stay was in the same room. Typically we stay in a room with a king size bed. However, my last stay i reserved a room with 2 queen size beds but ended up with a king and double size beds. The room was not large enough for these bed sizes. The room was very difficult to move around in and the mattresses on both bed were very uncomfortable. Both mattresses need to be replaced.

Yelp
Cute, cozy, comfortable motel. Made a late reservation while on the road with an app. Called for service upon arrival and was greeted quickly and warmly by proprietor. Room is spacious and clean. Wonderful place.

Yelp
My husband laughed as we pulled into this funky hotel...until we opened our room door! Two bedrooms, one with a queen bed, the other with a queen plus a queen murphy bed (3 total), fridge, microwave, AC, two tv's, dvd player, coffee pot plus cocoa packets, swing set outside, pool, hot tub (my kids are in heaven), free local newspaper. Great wifi. $120/night includes tax!! And the front desk gave us copons for 4 free shakes at Dairy Keen next door! (Fresh raspberry and fresh strawberry, $11 value!) We would totally stay here again. Highly recommend!!

Christy H.

Yelp
My family stay here and loved it very nice place to stay room where nice staff was great

Yelp
Super reasonable rate for a clean, comfortable, and cozy room the week of Sundance Film Festival! The staff (all members of the same family) were very gracious.

Yelp
This place was great. Way more than expected. Great customer service. Nice rooms, bed, etc. great price. I left my pillow there but was able to come back and get it the next day. I definitely recommend it!

Yelp
If you can, drive on to Park City and stay somewhere decent for less money. 2 stars is purely for the beds which aren't completely worn out and so still comfortable. The choices for places to stay in Heber City are pretty limited and the Holiday Inn Express was full when we arrived. Out of the other motels (they are motels, not hotels), the Swiss Alps Inn looks the least scary from the outside. So pro is a decent bed. So why 2 stars? This bed cost me $122 a night and no, there is no free continental breakfast included in that price. There were only 2 rooms left when we arrived and no one at the front office desk to check us in. We had to call the number on the front door twice to get someone over which took a while. In the meantime, another couple walked in behind us who were sent there by the full Holiday Inn down the road. Since there were 4 in our party and 2 in the party behind us, we were told we had to take the "bigger" room with 2 double beds (they are not queen size as advertised), one being in a separate room and a third Murphy bed in the front room which when is pulled out, nearly touches the foot of the other bed. I asked the lady at the desk (who seemed really annoyed she had to schlep over to the office to help us) for a simple 2 bed room because I didn't want to pay extra for separate rooms or beds we wouldn't use. She insisted on giving us the bigger room since there were 4 of us. We had to ask what the rate was for the room and she says "$109" which I reluctantly accept (definitely high for a motel like this) but then, she charges my card at $122 - if you are charging me $122 then the rate is $122 not $109. Being AAA members didn't seem to matter at all on the rate. My guess is that the other couple there got a lower rate because it was one room with just 2 beds in it which would have been just fine for us. We stayed at much much cleaner, "funkier", and cared for 50's style motels in Idaho and Colorado traveling out for our vacation a week ago for way under $100 a night and all of those included breakfast. A mini-fridge was in the room but turned off. We didn't bother to try to turn it on. The A/C barely worked to keep the 2 rooms cool. The room was not "clean" to our standards (hair that wasn't ours in the sink, and all the soaps wrapped in paper were oddly wet), and was located right in the front of the hotel and noisy. The TV in the front room barely worked -the picture from the broadcast was too big to fully fit on the TV screen - maybe that was a weird direct TV thing but was annoying. The room was pretty beat up and all the rooms are non-smoking so we got to smell the smoke from the smokers in the room next door who sat outside their room all night to smoke. Had to call the front desk to get the secret wifi code which wasn't posted anywhere in the room. Would have rather stayed at the M Star and put up with a rant on Scientologists in Provo for a cheaper room rate and a room of the same quality. Lesson learned.

T. E. M.

Yelp
Great hotel in a great little city on the Provo River. The room and bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom towels are thick and fluffy, and there is a nice hot tub. A/C and heat work well and plenty of hot water in the shower. The staff is helpful and friendly and I will stay here again!

Alicia S.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed at the Swiss Alps Inn several times last winter as a "Staycation" getaway from Salt Lake. We were disappointed that the hot tub was not functioning on either of our trips, and we wrote that in our review. We were very impressed when Jan, the proprietor, contacted us and offered us a complimentary night. We stayed there New Years Eve, with a beautiful moon and yes, a fully-functional hot tub! Heber is a cute little town, and the Swiss Alps Inn has a nice, homey touch to it. Thank you again for your generosity.

Yelp
Front desk area is locked. It's staffed by picking up the phone and someone from Dairy Keen checks you in. The room was clean, but smelled like stale cigarette smoke. They told me there was a $100 charge for smoking in the rooms, but as I don't smoke it didn't matter. It seemed as if that $100 goes straight into their pockets and they just leave the windows open to air it out. Bed was decent, TV a little small, and the bathroom was so outdated it took away from the rest of the room that has been updated. The bathroom door was about 20" wide with a lock that made you feel like you would get trapped in there. No exhaust fan in the bathroom and the shower head couldn't have been higher then 5'6 tall so get ready to bend over. Water pressure was very poor and I could tell when the neighbors flushed the toilet as my shower would go cold. Tub is slicker then Bill Clinton himself, but if you fell it wouldn't be too bad, because you're already bent halfway over trying to rinse out your hair. It's located conveniently 10' off of highway 40, which as it turns out is very busy. Mufflers on trucks around here seem to be missing and truckers with Jake Brakes add to the charm. You get to hear it all, you also hear the neighbors tub draining, a/c unit running, and the garbage truck emptying the dumpster at Dairy Keen at 7:05 am. Daylight is visible from inside through the gap at the bottom of the front door. If these things are the charm everyone else posts about, then I'll search for less charm next time. $117 seemed a little high for this place, but being close to Park City adds a yuppie fee to just about everything. Bottom line: clean, no bugs, remodeled for looks not utility by your Dad who put 3 different types of tile in because that's what he had laying around, but he's your Dad so you love him and don't tell him, but you'll end up going to a chain hotel next time and making your mom promise to not tell him about it.

Hope H.

Yelp
Very cute and cozy. The rooms are clean and spacious. For the price we were pleased! Also dog friendly, which for us was a huge plus. Fridge and microwave in room. Felt kind of like a little app apartment.

Melissa K.

Yelp
I just stayed at this hotel at the end of January and the place advertises a hot tub etc. It's not there!! Also if you are staying in unit 26, the plumbing is not great. Actually it's horrible. Max the owner said it has had trouble in the past due to its location but wouldn't do anything and in the end but blame us. Oh- at 6 am the only night we stayed in this room, we called him because we were just fed up. He was nice enough to bring over a plunger so we could deal with the problem.

Chris G.

Yelp
My wife and I were driving through UT very late at night with our dogs and they took us in when no other hotel would. I'm very grateful to this classy business.
