Google
Swiss Family Treehouse – 4/5 A peaceful climb through an adventurer’s dream home in the treetops. The views are fantastic, the details charming, and the walk-through offers a quiet break from the park’s hustle. No thrills or magic carpets here — just good old-fashioned exploration. Great for curious souls who enjoy stories told in leaves and lumber.

John Martinez

Google
An underrated attraction! I love the attention to detail. You can actually imagine a family living there. I love the Disney attractions that are based on the old classic movies like this one is. There is usually never a wait for this experience!

Travis Bohrer

Google
This is a unique attraction. My family and I love walking around to see the tree house. However, even though the Swiss Family Robinson is on Disney Plus, many people have not seen the movie. So this attraction will seem strange to some. Families with children or guests who have limited mobility should take note that this attraction has lots of stair climbing and descending. Overall, the view is spectacular.

Dede King

Google
One of our fave places within the Adventureland area of The Magic Kingdom. A consistent walk, with no wait up and down the treehouse. Really gives you that feel as part of the Swiss Family Robinson without actually living there. Take a peek into their lives. Very cool!

Arlene Murphy

Google
Swiss famly treehouse received a minor holiday overlay on the attraction. The organ instead of playing that catchy tune is playing Christmas carols! Following the movie of the 60s signs point to the primative lifestyle the family endured while being shipwrecked on a desert island. See the kitchen, the library, the family room, the parent's bedroom, and the boy's bedroom. Some climbing is involved but the steps provide railings for safety. Check out the water can system outside that bring up cold water to the family. There is never a wait for this attraction. You must be able to walk stairs to enjoy it. Most of the scenes are behind netting adding to the effect that the family needed to protect themselves against wild animals in the jungle. Located in Adventureland.

Google
This Tree house is amazing! It hasn't changed a bit over the years, but it still seems larger than life and makes you want to live in a tree house! They keep it so nice and it doesn't seem dated at all! Love that you can tour it at your own pace and stop to take pictures and read the various things that they have for you. This is one of the must sees when visiting the Magic Kingdom! I wish today's kids were able to know the old show! I guess I am showing my age now! LOL But even if they don't they will still love experiencing the tree house!

Richard Yu

Google
Nice to place to stay away from the Cinderella Castle crowd. The view from the top of Treehouse is actually pretty spectacular, especially during evening hours. There is usually no waiting here, so it’d a perfect change of pace during a hectic MK day!

Ben Graves

Google
So not a ride but a great walking/climbing stairs adventure and one of my favorites! The variety of things to look at and explore in the treehouse is amazing and fascinating to see the water system throughout. This is one of the best adventures at the park IMO, though I’m sure everyone has their favorites. We loved the climb and would recommend it to anyone looking for a little adventure! :)

Tharin W.

Yelp
This location rarely if ever has a wait. It's a nice spot to explore for adults and kids, but due note it is NOT wheelchair accessible at all. Based on a Disney Classic, most kids won't understand the storyline but they will still love the fun of going around the treehouse and seeing Magic Kingdom from a unique view.

Monique W.

Yelp
My husband and I finally had a chance to go on an adventure at the Swiss Family Treehouse during our latest visit at Magic Kingdom in Disney World! The Swiss Family Treehouse is located in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park! You get to explore the ultimate treehouse! While you climb to the top, you get to view the Magic Kingdom park from up high in the treehouse! The Swiss Family Treehouse is for all ages, and there is no height restriction! The view is a 6 story high summit of the treehouse. You'll get to view Adventureland, Magic Kingdom, and even the Jungle Cruise River ride! Just to note, there is a total of 116 stairs that you'll need to climb to reach the top! There are some handrails that you can hold on to going up and down the treehouse. It takes about 15-30 minutes to go through the Swiss Family Treehouse.

Yelp
Swiss Family Tree House located in Adventureland, in the Magic Kingdom, opened in 1971. It's based on the movie, Swiss Family Robinson. Visitors can walk into the attraction and up 68 steps; there are various decorated rooms. It looked like a real tree but it's made from various materials. I enjoyed climbing up the stairs; I'm afraid of heights but it felt safe and there were barriers preventing people from falling. Overall, it's a classic attraction and I enjoyed it.

Maggie H.

Yelp
I was a big fan of Disney's Swiss Family Robinson film when I was a kid. I've been to the treehouse a couple of times now and it's impressive. It made me want to watch the movie for the 20th time. However, I want to point out a place where Disney could be a little more modern. The sign at the front of the treehouse refers to the male characters by name but to the female character by the title she has in relationship to a man. Yes, it's written from the POV of the oldest male character, but it's not taken verbatim from the book. Give the woman her name, please.

Arlene M.

Yelp
The Swiss family treehouse is modeled after the treehouse used in the movie Swiss family Robinson starring Vera MIles and John Mills. It is basically a walkthough and climb up and down the staircases to see the various rooms and how the family lived in such primative surroundings. Signs along the way tell the tale of how they were able to obtain water through and advanced watering system. You see the kitchen, library, family room, parent's bedroom, and the boy's bedroom at the top of the treehouse. This attraction is not too popular since it doesn't have a lot to offer but on this visit I was drawn to the fact that the organ in the family room was playing Christmas music as opposed to that upbeat song of theirs. I loved how it played "Deck the halls" and found it worthwhile. The Disneyland counterpart:The Adventureland treehouse has recently opened with a new theme that include two boys and an astromony girl living in the treehouse. I have yet to see it but I'm sure I will find it interesting. There is usually no wait to enter this ride with the exception of climbing the stairs. Located in Adventureland.

Marianne W.

Yelp
Swiss Family Robinson sorry to say wasn't a favorite. I wasn't into the movie or story and climbing the stairs to look at stuff isn't fun to me. I was with my daughter when she was older and we tried everything at least once. When we returned to Magic Kingdom I usually told her I wasn't going to the Tree House again!

Janelle F.

Yelp
Can you believe I've been coming to Disney my entire life and NEVER been in the treehouse? Not here or I'm California. I know, I know it feels like a cardinal sin. Ok, maybe that's taking it too far, but what an underrated piece of history. It's definitely something to be careful of if you're not able to climb a good amount of stairs up and back down. If you can however it is so worth it for the views alone once at the top. If you know anything g about the Swiss Family movie/books then it's like seeing it just as described. Bedrooms and all. Very cool .

Andrew C.

Yelp
Generally not too much of a wait for this experience. You'll be climbing several flights of stairs up and then back down so gauge your level of fitness for this one. It was neat to see the different rooms in the giant treehouse but this is a pretty passive exhibit without much interaction. A fun stop when you have a little time or if the line is short.

Ward D.

Yelp
A must-see for Disney World Adventurers This is located inside the Magic Kingdom, in Adventureland. That means as you come down Mainstreet turn to the left of the circle and walk into the entrance of this part of the park. The entrance to the treehouse will be on your left. I have walked this most times that I have come to the park. There has never been a line and so it is easy to go into even when the park is very crowded. It is a recreation of the treehouse that the Swiss Family Robinson would have built created as only the Imagineers could do it. Any age and any height can go. There are over 100 stairs to climb to the top but the sights and rooms that you see are wonderful. The climb up takes you by the Captain's cabin to the boy's room, all the way back down to the kitchen with signs to explain the various areas. The entire treehouse is wonderfully thought out and the view from the top-level (six floors up) allows visitors a view across the park. I highly recommend this walk for anyone visiting the park but recommend that you take your time on the climb both up and down.

Kara M.

Yelp
We took a wander through here while waiting for a fast pass time slot for another ride. You climb a lot of stairs in here, so I wanted to point that out for those who may have mobility issues. I think kids will love this attraction since it is a pretty cool treehouse. You see various "rooms" of the family as you walk through here. Disney does a great job of creating this lush green space in the middle of the park. This area is nicely shaded. This is a good time filler, I think we spent about ten minutes here.

Maya C.

Yelp
Out of all times I'd been at Disney I've never "climbed" this treehouse. It never seemed that interesting to me and I've never seen Swiss Family Robinson. But waiting for our reservation at Skipper Canteen we decided to kill a little time checking it out. I was always warned that it was walking up and do n a lot of steps which was fine with me. We went up to the top of the treehouse checking out the family's different rooms. I kinda felt like this was miniaturized because in looking at the actual bedroom it was only big enough for a child or two, unless it was the children's bedroom. You have to be careful where you walk as my friend almost lost her balance coming down the steps and was not using the handrails (She was on her phone haha). Maybe a 5-10 minute time killer? Enough so we could go get our grub on across the way.

Zach G.

Yelp
I loved the treehouse so much that we walked through twice. It was an easy decision as there were hardly any people there. The kids loved following the path and I had a great time exploring with them. Definitely worth checking out when you're in the park especially if you have kids.

Gin Y.

Yelp
When I found out that the Magic Kingdom had the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse, I was stoked. Watching that movie when I was little, I admired how a treehouse could be constructed that was so functional and beautiful at the same time. Disney did not disappoint. I was already ecstatic when there was no wait time at all here. Walking up and around this treehouse was so exciting. The stairs, walkways, rooms, library, pulleys, and ropes were all solid and sturdy. There were many vantage points with great views. This was a fun and fairly quick walking tour of a nostalgic treehouse. I loved it! Highly recommend it.

Samantha B.

Yelp
I love this movie and I love walking through and looking at all the stuff here. It's so much fun to walk through and see the stuff from the movie. It makes me want to go watch the Swiss Family Robinson over again. I think next time I go I'll have to watch the movie right before hand so I can appreciate it even more!

Andrew R.

Yelp
Awesome tree house , it takes 10 minutes to walk through and definitely worth the time.

Chris W.

Yelp
I'm honestly surprised that they haven't demolished this attraction and replaced it with something else. The last few times I've been to the Magic Kingdom I assumed that the Swiss Family Treehouse was closed because it always appears deserted. I think part of the problem is that a trip to Disney entails miles and miles of walking and the last thing a lot of people would want to deal with during that is climbing so many steps. This tree house is actually a day one attraction from the park, meaning that it has been here since the Grand Opening way back in 1971. It was about 10:30 at night when I climbed it and it was completely deserted. The Treehouse is a re-creation of what the Robinson family from the famous movie from the 60s lived in. I hadn't been on this attraction in well over 10 years and didn't remember anything about it. When I got to the very top I was pleasantly surprised at the spectacular view it offered of Space Mountain and the castle. I actually really enjoyed the experience. If there would have been a lot of people around it would have been miserable because the staircases you climb are very narrow and you wouldn't be able to get around people. But with an empty tree it was actually quite peaceful and relaxing.I don't think I would recommend doing it in the daytime summer heat, but it's a nice diversion at night!

Steve S.

Yelp
Another Disney classic, but I have to tell you it isn't my favorite. Great attraction for kids (I loved it the first time I went through, though it really is better for the kids) and the line moves quickly. It's kind of like a mini-treehouse museum rather than a real ride or attraction, but it's cute-especially if you've seen the movie. I'm imagining most of the little kids who make the climb probably haven't even seen the 50+ year old movie so for us adults who have it might take a little explaining. The view from the top of the treehouse is really amazing and even if the kids haven't seen the movie, they'll enjoy this attraction.

Louisa M.

Yelp
Most tourists skip over the Treehouse during their visit to Walt Disney World. There's hardly ever a line because if there's one thing fat American tourists hate, it's exercise. To tour the treehouse, you obviously have to climb up and down a lot of stairs. It's fun and worth it, especially if you are a Swiss Family Robinson fan or you like to pretend what it would be like to live in your very own treetop house! The rooms are roped off so you can't hang out in the kitchen or swing on the hammock bed, but it's still cool. The attention to detail is amazing and it's hard to believe the tree is fake. It is worth taking the climb just for the view from the top. I'd recommend going when it gets dark because the treehouse is beautifully lit and looks more realistic at night.

Samantha G.

Yelp
Hey, it's a treehouse. Personally, I love the movie and have always loved this attraction. But unless you go when it's near to empty, you will constantly feel rushed. And, unfortunately, there's not really room to stop and let those behind you go ahead. And that sucks because this attraction deserves a slow, meandering pace. When you do go, definitely try to go at night. This is a well-lit attraction and the views of the castle and rest of the park are breath-taking at night when everything is all lit up.

Peter M.

Yelp
There is nothing really exciting about the Swiss Family Treehouse, but it is in the shade and you can get some nice views from up there. And you might try it to try and tire out overactive children. I understand that it is similar to what is found in the movie, so I think I will watch the movie before I tackle the Treehouse again. Comparing the two might make it more interesting.

John L. H.

Yelp
The Swiss Family Treehouse is really neat. While strolling around the Magic Kingdom I noticed this attraction. On my last trip I must have missed it, but there was no wait so off we went. despite there being no listed wait, we were slightly delayed by the pace of those in front of us, but it was worth the trip. Built into a giant fake tree, this treehouse is designed based on the book we all were likely to have read as children. The attention to detail was very impressive. I particularly liked the working water transport system that brought water from ground level and brought it throughout the treehouse. There were also bedrooms, a dining area and a library. This attraction does have a lot of stairs so keep that in mind. At the highest point we were well above ground level and had a great view of the park goers wandering around the park. My kids loved walking around this treehouse and i really enjoyed imagining living in such a place. if you're a fan of the book, or just want a break from the traditional activities at Disney, I encourage you to check this out.

Yelp
Swiss Family Treehouse is an attraction that features at several Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. The remaining versions based on the original are located at Magic Kingdom Park, Tokyo Disneyland and at Disneyland Park in Disneyland Paris. The walk-through attraction is centered around a giant treehouse where everyone can hear and see various scenes based on the Disney movie Swiss Family Robinson. Before he wrote the book called Swiss Family Robinson, Johann Wyss and his kids imagined what it would be like if they were stranded on an island. So together, they came up with lots of crazy adventures for the Robinsons. Almost two years after the Disney film Swiss Family Robinson was released to theaters, in 1960, Disneyland introduced the Swiss Family Treehouse to Adventureland. When the Magic Kingdom opened at Walt Disney World Resort on October 1, 1971, the Swiss Family Treehouse was one of the original attractions of Adventureland. The tree, while intended to look real, is actually made up of steel, concrete, and stucco, stretching 60 feet (18 m) tall and 90 feet (27 m) wide. Yet, it looks exactly like the one in the movie.

Cece C.

Yelp
It's not a real tree!! Sadness! Very cool though - so much attention to detail! You also get a little workout while you climb up and down the stairs. The best part is that due to the stairs, this attraction is stroller-free! Hooray.

Athena K.

Yelp
You can find this place on the left as you enter adventure land. It's not a ride but rather an attraction that you walk through. There typically isn't a line. Basically you spend about 10-15 minutes walking through a replica of the treehouse mansion from the 1960s movie Swiss Family Robinson. Like many attractions at Walt Disney World, the attention to detail is stunning. There are a lot of stairs and swaying bridges. Wheelchair access is limited to one small section of the treehouse.

Lisa C.

Yelp
What the younger generation does not understand about the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse is that for those of us in our 50's- 60's it is a wonderful reminder of a loved childhood movie. They need to watch the Swiss Family Robinson movie to understand. I am getting ready to return to Disney this May and I just searched to make sure it is still around. I will let my 6 year old grandaughter watch the movie so she will be amazed as I was the first time I walked through.

Amanda F.

Yelp
It's fun to walk around in here if it's not too crowded and if you don't mind lots of stairs. You will get a lot of exercise at this attraction while having fun doing it. I wish I had this attraction in my yard so I could stay fit. When it's too busy it feels like standing in a queue. If you would like to do more exploring, also try Tom Sawyer Island, it is much bigger and less crowded.

Catherine O.

Yelp
Wonderful attraction, mostly overlooked by guests. Most guests walk right past this wonderful walk through attraction to a little know Disney classic film. See the home of the Swiss Family Tree house. Explore the tree branches to see how they survived after being shipwrecked. I love this attraction and highly recommend stopping by on your way through Adventureland.

Amy S.

Yelp
I absolutely adore the Treehouse. It is one of my fondest memories from my very first visit to the Magic Kingdom when I was a kid. It took my parents forever to drag me out of that Treehouse! =) I am sure your kids will love it just as much and if you've never seen it before, you must go up into it with them. It's really cool to wander up and down the different levels and look into and around all the "rooms." As someone else said, it does get really crowded, so if you have small ones, you may want to hold their hand so they don't accidentally get knocked over by a bigger kid running up and down the stairs. This is a Magic Kingdom "must-do" whether you're a kid or a kid at heart.

G.D. S.

Yelp
Are you kidding me? Anything less than 5 stars is just proof that some folks can never be happy! It's the "Magic Kingdom",.... buck up and get in there. Enjoy!

Michelle B.

Yelp
It's always closed when I go. What's up with that? You see people being let in by the people standing there so others can't go past the gate. Very mysterious

Will H.

Yelp
The tree house is a neat little walk through attraction. It's pretty much like a long line. Disney is very good a designing lines and experiences tailored to the attraction. This one has stairs that get you pretty high to look over The Magic Kingdom. I really enjoy the views, other than that, it can be a little of a letdown. It's kind of like waiting in a line for a ride and never getting on the ride.

Picha M.

Yelp
We loved the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse. One of the few attractions without a very long wait. I imagine during the summer would also offer quite a bit of shade from the sun. This attraction was very well done and even enjoyable for a little kids ages 4 and 5. The line moves fast! You will have to leave strollers at the entrance. Open to all ages and sizes. You do have to climb stairs as well.

Liz C.

Yelp
It's a classic, and there's hardly ever a wait. Worth doing once during your visit, but I'm not sure it's anything to write home about if you have seen it before. I am sure kids love it, and first timers too. I just wasn't as wowed as I thought I would be I guess.

Ho L.

Yelp
This is a walk-thru attraction, which is a little different than most of the other attractions at Magic Kingdom. I've always liked the design, and the imagination of being stranded on an island. I do wish there were more rooms/areas to look at though, but I guess you are limited to what's in the book. Still a fun diversion.

Allison M.

Yelp
An immersive recreation of the Swiss Family Robinsons treehouse. You can walk around to the very top of the treehouse and peer at all their stuff hidden around. It's kind of like a museum though, and you can't really touch anything or interact with any of their things - they have screens and barriers to keep people out. I found it a little one dimensional and crowded.

Susan L.

Yelp
Swiss house 10 min wait Not impressive and not a real tree. Save your steps and skip it

Madison H.

Yelp
One of my favorite attractions at magic kingdom because it's one of the original attractions from when it first opened.. If you're a big fan of swiss family robinson movie then this is perfect for you. Although the tree is not real, it is still fun going through and seeing the different rooms, the view from the top is wonderful, it's not crowded either and there is no stupid strollers in the way which is a bonus!

Ryan C.

Yelp
They did a wonderful job recreating this tree. You walk up and down steps to each level, looking in to each room (bedrooms, dining room, library) and then you walk past the "kitchen." They have a device like in the movie that brings water up from the creek below. It does get crowded on the small stairs and walk-ways, and it's bad when you have people stopping in the middle, or kids running up and down stairs.

Maureen L.

Yelp
Another Disney classic. We really enjoyed this attraction, especially getting some exercise along the way.

Hannah M.

Yelp
Meh. Just dull stuff. Disneyland's Tarazan's Treehouse & Chip N' Dale's Treehouse is better

Caleb H.

Yelp
This treehouse is very cool, the only problem I found was when we went, there was a line. So I went over to the exit path, because I didn't want to wait that long. So I didn't get to go up. So go when there is no line.
