Great little motel with a large hot tub. Wanted to extend our Shasta trip by a day and stumbled on this place. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly. No frills but nothing to complain about. Don’t hesitate to stay here if you are passing through the area!

Google
Positive: Close to mountain Negative: Manager came in to clean room without checking first if anyone was in room. Rooms should have a chain link lock, or other method to secure from within other than just key card. Felt unsecure.

Nice and nominal price. Good view of Mt. shasta from the room. Good breakfast options in the morning.

Just out of town yet within reach, the Swiss Holiday Lodge affords one with some much needed privacy after a day of taking in the shops. Romantic flowers were in bloom on our arrival. Lots of amenities and the staff were awesome. The pool was nice and chill on a hot day, and the hot tub was actually hot! Thanks Swiss Holiday Lodge!

We stayed here twice, once on our way to Mexico on our mission trip and on our way back this year. It was interesting that we got the same room so it felt like coming home. The Hot tub was open on our return trip but we didn’t pack suits so we didn’t get to enjoy it but it is nice to know for next time! The beds were comfortable and there were enough nice soft towels for all of us. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker were in the room. Breakfast was in the lobby with a nice selection of cereal, breads, pastries, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and fruit. I was especially happy that they had almond milk because we are lactose intolerant. My only complaint would be the nice comfortable sofas in the lobby were not easy to get in and out of with a plate or bowl of food and holding a cup of coffee. I would like to see them change them out with arm chairs. They are also pet friendly!

We love this place, great hot tub. However the bed seemed small.

I am from the Midwest and have lived in Siskiyou County for 15 years. I have long recommended this little spot for my family and friends when they come to visit because the rooms are nice enough, it's got easy access to town and the interstate and really fair pricing. However, this particular instance has me rather disappointed and ensured I would never recommend it again. I had a close friend who came up for her husband's appointment, and she was looking for a spot to stay for the night. I told her Swiss Lodge was a good option! She booked. Her husband was in the hospital, and she wanted company. We agreed we'd come over and take a brief swim, then head to the park for a little picnic. We were not even in for more than 10 minutes when the front desk/owner came up and asked if we were all guests, my friend said no she was and we were with her said before she could finish her sentence he said "absolutely not, you must leave, you are not welcome to invite others" I was shocked. I've never heard of such a policy. It was myself, a 6 year old, my 17 year old and their hotel guest. He was short, unwelcoming, and quite frankly, I won't be recommending them any longer. Also, I noticed the pool was actually in a state of pretty bad disrepair, cracks, and gaps in the liner.

Enjoyed our stay. Great location and service. Good breakfast options and the room was comfortable.

Yelp
I was impressed. The exterior of the hotel is very vintage, but our room was very updated. The shower was nice and had this beautiful tile and a neat smart mirror that had a light in it and a defogger. Nice carpeting, comfortable bed. There was a table with chairs, coffee pot, complimentary tea and coffee, a mini fridge and microwave. The towels were clean and smelled nice. In the morning they have a complimentary breakfast similar to a Best Western with boiled eggs, danishes, coffee, bananas etc. I highly recommend staying here.

Yelp
This is a little gem. It is absolutely outdated but CLEAN, quiet and comfortable. The bed was especially comfy. There was a room available with a full kitchen and ice machine for those on a budget. There was a thorough continental breakfast with coffee, decaf, tea, and hot chocolate mix, real and almond milk, OJ, a selection of cold and hot cereals and a selection of breads and bagels with a variety of toppings, hard boiled eggs, pastries, yogurt, apples and bananas. We slept well for a reasonable price, ate and got on our way. We will definitely stay here when traveling north again. Oh, dogs are allowed!

Yelp
Spent a long weekend here with my husband. Prompt checkin and nice staff. Our room was clean and we had everything we needed. Loved soaking in the jacuzzi after our day hikes. We also used one of the BBQ grills one evening to grill some steaks and hang out on the grassy area. Continental breakfast was nice, as well. I really liked the location of this hotel, plus the price was good. Nice view of Mt Shasta right outside our room's window! I had to do a little work on my laptop and the WiFi quality was great. I would stay here again.

Yelp
I needed an inexpensive place to stay and the Swiss Holiday Lodge satisfied that need and desire! No frills or gimmicks, the room was cozy and comfortable but had all the bases covered: refrigerator, microwave, heater, A/C. Plus the hot water was instantly hot! Breakfast was simple and got you going in the morning till you found something more substantial; its a motel not a restaurant. Great for the price.

Yelp
Been here 3 times in last year or so when im traveling. dig this place. Just outside of town. Clean place. No drama. Found it specifically for the jacuzzi & pet friendly! Price is fair. Good parking. Even for my rented u-haul. Green grass & hammocks. Pool open during summer. Jacuzzi is big & open outside year round in a patio. So it has a roof for rain & snow. Its new with a oldschool flare. I think its a hidden gem! : )

Yelp
Nice motel, but not requiring masks or social distancing. Breakfast was served in a small room by an owner not wearing a mask, with guests not wearing them either. I wouldn't come here again during the pandemic.

Yelp
5 stars based on motels of similar price. Stayed M-F, summer, 2016 What I loved: - friendly family owners who met all our needs - secluded/quiet - beautiful view of Mt. Shasta - close to hwy for all our adventuring - close to town - continental breakfast was perfect - clean and manicured property - COMFORTABLE beds! - very reasonably priced - community kitchen stocked with all we'd need to cook meals - fridge/microwave in room - the HAMMOCKS! - pool and hot tub maintained Yes, it's a bit "dated" of a motel but none of that mattered in the end. We had a great time and would definitely stay again. 5 stars based on motels of similar price.

Yelp
I don't know why a review said every rm has a view of Mt. Shasta. Our lower rm didn't. Pool had no water. When we arrived the open windows made it for us, even without anywhere to hang our clothes, or a sink (other than the bathroom) we were happy. Friendly girl at the front desk. Great bathroom, but shower could have been a bit cleaner. Skimpy sundries and towels in the name of conservation, but again the open windows and fresh air was great and made it for us. The evening progressed into the worst stay ever in a hotel. This was because of the thin walls. Above us was a couple rattling the ceiling all night and morning. We had to listen to the bed sqeaking and rolling while they were enjoying themselves non-stop. We couldn't sleep after hours of driving. The hotel was full so we couldn't get another room. We reserved a king size bed, and when moved to a queen bed because we needed downstairs, there was no price change. Because of the thin walls where you could hear "everything" including people talking we would never ever stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed here for two nights while doing some spring skiing at Mt. Shasta Ski Park. Overall, it was a great place to stay if you're looking for an affordable option with hot tub access. We would stay there again! Pros: Comfortable bed TV, microwave, and fridge in room Large (8 person) hot tub was very hot, jets worked, and no one was ever in it when we used it Great location right off the freeway and 15 minutes from the ski park Affordable Heat and AC in room, with additional heater in bathroom Felt safe and clean our entire stay Fast wifi Cons: Only toiletries provided were 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner and a bar of soap. No hairdryer or iron either (although maybe we could have asked for those at the desk, I'm not sure) Continental breakfast was fine, but aside from bagels everything was super sugary (danishes, knock-off fruit loops and other sugary cereals). Coffee was not good.

Yelp
Best little motel lodge we've ever stayed at. Great prices, hot tub, family owned. The staff is so sweet. Loved our stay!

Christie A.

Yelp
Such a pleasant experience! We stayed at another lodge in the area a different night, and the difference was night and day. I guess we went in with cautious, low expectations after the other place, but was pleasantly surprised here. I was going to post pics of our room, but the photos posted by the business owner are accurate and look just like our room! The breakfast was continental, but more than enough for us. Lots of carbs (both sweet and not), a couple of fruit options, protein (hard boiled eggs, yogurt, peanut butter, cream cheese), and to drink: regular and decaf coffee, good assortment of teas, hot chocolate, orange juice, regular and even soy milk. The heater was an old Thermador, but worked just fine (a little too well even, as we woke up sweating in the middle of the night), but at least it worked! We weren't staying long, just needed a quiet, safe (and preferably clean) room to get some shut eye. I felt comfortable taking off my shoes and using the shower (yes, the other place we stayed we did not feel comfortable doing either). Swiss Holiday delivered a pleasant night, and we were on our way in the morning well-rested, with satisfied tummies. I would definitely stay again.

Yelp
Given what I paid for it, I really can't complain about this place. Room is on the smaller side. There is a bathtub available but I didn't use it. Possibly also a pool in the summer. There were quite a few items to choose from for breakfast, but you're expected to eat it in your room as there is nowhere to sit down. The man at the front desk was polite and friendly. Good value overall.

Vivian B.

Yelp
We found this lodge due to it being pet friendly. Upon arrival we were blown away by how lovely and charming this lodge was. Our family of 5 stayed in the suite, and it held us perfectly. It had all the appliances and amenities needed to cook for yourself. They have a pool and jacuzzi with an amazing grass area with hammocks. There is also a fun lake nearby named lake siskiyou to go swimming and walk around. Breakfast was included and enjoyed. Our family loved this hidden gem!

Yelp
We reserved a room on July 31 to stay at the Swiss Holiday Lodge on August 21. We went to see the eclipse in Madras, Oregon, and wanted to have a room halfway back home. We have two kids in elementary school. On the way back from Madras, there was very little cell phone reception even when there were multiple bars showing. We made it to the Swiss Holiday Lodge at 10:30 p.m. The office closed at 10:00 p.m., but there was a doorbell for after hours check-in. We rang the doorbell several times, and no one answered. I called the number for the hotel, and no one answered. I knocked on the door to the owner's residence, and no one answered. I tried ringing the doorbell again. After about a half hour, we left without knowing why the owner wouldn't even answer the bell to let us know what had happened. We tried to get another room, but everything at a reasonable price was sold out because so many other people were driving back from the eclipse. We had to drive all the way home and didn't get back until 4:00 a.m. I called this morning, and the manager said that they tried to call us at the wrong number. It seems that they mixed up a 7 with a 1 in our number. However, given the spotty cell phone coverage, I don't know that they would have reached us regardless. Apparently at 10:00 p.m., they gave our room away. What really makes this awful is that when we got there, a half hour after they gave our room away, they would not even open the door to tell us what they did. That half hour could have made the difference in us being able to get another room. Or at least, we would have know what happened. I think that it is so rude to give away our room that we had reserved for almost 2 months and not even tell us when we got there. It wasn't even that late!!!!!

Yelp
Nice views & Great value for an inn. I would stay here again. Small refrigerator & tv in room with wifi included. Clean bathroom. Plenty of clean towels. Plenty of parking. The owner was a nice guy & breakfast (toast, pastries, cereal, fruit, yogurt, coffee etc) was left out until past 10am. Not much lighting at night so it's difficult to find if arriving late. Right next to the freeway though.

McKenna F.

Yelp
Stayed there once before and it was fine but my most recent stay was terrible. Showed up around 11 due to a long drive and when we checked in they didn't even have the right room I booked. I booked one king room for two nights and according to them, I had booked 2 queens for one night and a king room the second night. I showed them my reservation online and asked why they had something different than what I clearly booked and they gave NO explanation, just tried telling me that that's what I booked. They did give me the same price for what I paid, which was cheaper than having 2 queens, but no discount and if they traded my room with somebody who checked in earlier they didn't even bother to inform me. Also they said that the price I paid for for one king room was cheaper than the double, and that they would charge me what I originally booked.. how did they know that price for the king if they show I booked a double? They would have seen a different charge. Makes no sense. Got to the room and there was a half of a roll of toilet paper left in the bathroom - not even a new full roll - and crackers left between the dresser and the wall. Absolutely disgusting and the room that I did not book wasn't even clean. The fridge also didn't shut all the way and was just kept open. This hotel is very convenient for staying close to the ski park but the service overall was horrible.

Doggy B.

Yelp
Typical 50's style roadside motel but it's been remodeled. The rooms and bathrooms were small (I was in a queen room) but the place was spotless, the bed and pillows were super comfy and the staff was very nice and it was very quiet. Every room has a view of Mt. Shasta and the windows opened which was great. I didn't have to listen to the drone of an air conditioner all night. I shut it off the first night and enjoyed the fresh air in the room for the 2 nights I was there. It's a couple of miles from the center of town but it was a short drive. Microwave, refrigerator, TV and fast Wifi in the rooms and a pool and hot tub outdoors with a nice lawn area. I was pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
Wonderful cute little place to stay. On our way from SoCal to NW Oregon. This made our long drive a little bit better. Very friendly, family owned place. Have a great breakfast in the AM. Only complain is the small showers and especially the shower head that is pointed directly at the wall and you can't move it. Other than that I would definitely return! Oh and pet friendly!
google avatar

Paxie X.

Yelp
Excellent service. We called and informed them we were arriving late (around midnight). Received excellent service for a great Priceline price. Rooms were small (2 queen rooms), but clean and comfy. Bathrooms were also small but have been nicely remodeled. The free continental breakfast was a little sad looking, but just like every other free continental breakfast out there. Would stay again if ever in the area.

Yelp
Love this place. Clean, cozy and full of charm. Very well kept, the continental breakfast is totally legit, wifi is great, plus the rooms have soul and a lot of heart. Friendly desk people. Great views of the Eddys. Stay here!

Yelp
Perfectly adequate little motor inn for a quick stop before heading north. Rooms were very clean. For this price point it was exactly right. Nice little continental breakfast in the office every morning. Quick friendly late night check in. Would definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Honestly, I would pay more to stay here. I come through Mt Shasta a fair amount and have stayed in quite a few of the hotel/motels in town and usually they aren't worth the money they charge. This place is quaint and Quiet. Very clean, no bed bugs, nice people running it. The price was so low I almost chose another one because the furniture and bedding looked like something out of the 80's and generally in my mind the place is showing you a photo of their best room and the room you get is dirty and smells so badly of disinfectant you wonder what died in the room. This place was truly clean, no remnants of cigarette smoke, no hairs left in the rolled towels by the maids etc. great views out the windows on both sides of building. I say come one, come all help this lovely little motel stay in business and build on what they already have going for this Location. I've spent more than twice as much and got so much less, at Swiss Mountain I'm so happy I'll be telling every one I know it's the place to stay in Mt Shasta. Bravo...raise your prices a little once people settle into their room they' ll be glad to pay it every time.

Yelp
Overpriced $144 for 2 queens + $20 for dog. No dog poo bags or goodie bags (of course we had our own) - many establishments allowing dogs esp for $20 provide something. Tiny rooms. One foot between second bed and angled wall to bathroom. You had to walk sideways to get the bathroom. No closet. The other bed had 6" to the window facing lot. Clean but room stuffy/stinky. Towels and sheets felt very clean. Ample towels. The bathroom was spotless and had a wall heater (yay!) Very dated polyesterized beds, heater AC system (didn't even attempt to try). Hard pillows. Decent mattress but kept sliding around like you were on an ice rink. Loud - neighbors upstairs, downstairs - rickety rackety. Heard every foot step. Every breath. Every conversation. Gag. The mini fridge was clean. It looked like a dog chewed the handle. . Wifi worked well. Didn't try tv. Will see if we stay for "continental b-fast." Addendum- peered through window. Diabetic coma w banana sugar cereals prepackaged pastries. None for us. Standard fare I suppose. Rather pay less than 1/2 that for the same dump elsewhere. Ugh. Did have a nice outdoor dog area. Staff had flat affect. Would never stay again - cost outweighed size, noise, "conti bfast." For much cheaper u get the exact same elsewhere.

Yelp
Wonderful family owned hotel.Would highly recommend to anyone because of it's fair prices, pool and rooms. Great if you are traveling as a family! We had a couple of little things that we needed some help with but all of our needs where met with smiles and quickly taken care of. Everyone was very friendly and enjoyable to talk with. For me some of the highlights are the outdoor hammocks and lovely swimming pool/ hot tug. Also a lovely breakfast in the morning. As far as the rooms you get what you pay for. But I do like the small touches around the place that make each more different. Something that again made it stand out for me. Much better than staying at another chain hotel that all looks the same.

Amanda B.

Yelp
The room smelled bad; like my eyes burned when I walked in. I requested a different room & had the same problem. I went to the desk the get a refund & was told there was a $20 fee because I had used the restroom for a quick visit. I explained why I was unhappy, and was still told I would be charged. There was no attempt to apease me, nor apology for the stench of the room. DONT GO THERE!!!
google avatar

Jeff-Starina B.

Yelp
We choose this place because it advertised a hot tub, and breakfast. Unfortunately after a long day of moving, we checked in at 8pm and had to pay an additional $10 just to have a bottom floor room where we could park our packed truck in front just to keep an eye on it. There were probably 5 cars total in the parking lot, so I don't know why the additional charge. We dressed for the hot tub and once in found it to be at best "luke warm", and in disrepair. The bedroom was clean, bathroom nice and bed comfortable. The breakfast was unfortunately horrible. We took it to go to find the hard boiled eggs rotten after peeled, and yogurt expired by 3 months! Yikes!

Yelp
Newly renovated! Friendly staff, simple check-in (we even arrived late and they came right out.) Super cute retro motel design and sign. Bathroom shower had new fixtures and really nice floor to ceiling tile. Brand new windows and somewhat obscured but still great views of the mountain. For under $100 this place is THE place near majestic Shasta!!!!!

AnastasiaBeaverhousen B.

Yelp
Stayed 3 nights here...small rooms but clean and quiet. Well kept grounds, sparkling pool and over chlorinated jacuzzi. Breakfast simple and decent but coffee needs some attention! Too weak and lacked flavor. Great views and very close to town. Would stay here again.
google avatar

Garrett B.

Yelp
Awesome! Really amazing staff. We were worried about being stuck in the snow and the owner used his personal vehicle to plow the parking lot, exit and road all the way to the highway. The hot tub is nice and the rooms are cute. Reasonably priced. Perfect place to stop off for the night and relax with the gf or ms.

Yelp
Wonderful old charm. Secluded but close to services. Great views of Mt Shasta, clean rooms, good parking, nice but rustic and homey. Great value

Yelp
Stayed here on 10/13/16 because of a storm. We were pleasantly surprised. Great price. Beautiful views. And the beds and pillows were so comfortable. The shower was redone and beautiful.

Yelp
We stayed here before and after climbing Shasta. It's a very good choice for a straightforward low-budget place to stay near the mountain. It's a little farther from the downtown area than some of the other places in town, but still only a 5 minute drive from all the restaurants/shops, and it has a gorgeous view of Mt. Shasta. The rooms are comfortable and clean and there's a common use kitchen, which was cool, although we didn't use it. The TVs in the rooms are old CRTs but they do offer HBO. The continental breakfast wasn't very exciting (cereal and pastries) but it was a nice touch. This is a family-owned establishment. I was a little surprised because they weren't very flexible about the check-out time even though they seemed pretty empty, but otherwise have no complaints.
google avatar

Jason D.

Yelp
My wife and I went up to Mt Shasta for some snowboarding for my birthday and decided to stay here. Our room had a new fridge and tv. Sure this place is old, but it's clean and I think the age adds charm. The hot tub was super nice after a long day on the mountain. We will definitely be back.
google avatar

Denny S.

Yelp
The lodge is nice and clean, and the bathrooms have been newly remodeled. The staff was very friendly, and I even played with the owner's dog, Tommy. The views are nice. The only reason it's not five stars is because the walls are very thin and I could hear even normal conversation from the room next-door. I was at the complete other end of the lodge from the office and the wifi was strong. They offer a continental breakfast in the morning, but I was out the door too early both days to take part. I will stay there again if I go back to Mt. Shasta.

Yelp
Did some spring Skiing and stayed there three nights, first time here. Very friendly staff. Reservations were smooth. King bed was great and comfortable. Room had Micro wave, fridge and WiFi included. Room was clean and bath is tiled and well stocked. Morning breakfast was better than usual continental offered else where. Definitely I will be back when in the area.

Carol Y.

Yelp
Loved our stay and this charming and exceptionally clean motel! The view of Mt. Shasta was a plus. The bed and bedding comfy and, best of all, it was QUIET with no nearby road noise. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Matilda M.

Yelp
Nothing fancy, but the rooms were decent and clean. Continental breakfast was full of sugary options (frosted flakes, fruit loops, rice crispies, and danishes). Would have preferred at least a healthier option. The family who owns the place were nice. A decent choice. It is not on the main road, but the Wayside Grill is just across the street which was perfect for us. We paid $75 + tax

Nature M.

Yelp
For the price, this was a great place to stay. Breakfast was filling, hot tub was turned on, hot!; and Staff and owners were friendly and helpful. This was about the closest motel to the ski resort at Mt Shasta. The TV had enough channels. Heater in the room worked hot, and the windows opened. Parking lot was kept plowed during the snow fall. I recommend it for anyone who needs a basic place to sleep in-between days skiing or being outdoors at Shasta.

Tony C.

Yelp
Slightly nicer than your typical motel. Free breakfast and wifi. Quiet and affordable.

Terri K.

Yelp
I booked this based on the hotel ad. I really only wanted a safe place with solid internet because I had business meeting scheduled. Tried to log onto the internet and the hotel worker calmly told me my room was too far from the server. I explained this would not work for me. I had a meeting in five minutes (I was upset). He told me not to get upset with him or he would not get me another room so I could get internet (male chauvinist talking down to a female, you know...be a good girl and I will help you). He gave me another room close to the server. The new room did have internet but was so mold ridden that my daughter could not breath. Needless to say, I had to call it a night and check out. I missed the meeting and my daughter was in a full blown asthma attack. My lungs also hurt from the moldy room. The ad on the hotel booking site boast a view of a lake and a waterfall view. There is none such. The mountain is hidden behind a bunch of trees but really all I wanted was clean room with the high speed internet as advertised and charged for. Sadly, I must dispute this with my AMEX card company. I did call AMEX and they advised me to tell the hotel clerk the reason I would be checking out and that I would be disputing the charge. I did just that, I really do like writing negative reviews. I also do not like being lied to. I do not like being charged for something that can not be delivered. I do not like being talked to like a child by a male chauvinist . The clerk charged my card 95 dollars for the room. A bit steep but all I wanted was internet hat I did not get. I ended up calling the Best Western Treehouse down the road. I recommend calling Best Western Treehouse. They really are true to their word. They have internet and it is a lovely place. A bit more but I am not stressed and my daughter can breath. Oh boy, What a night! Room was clean. Seemed a bit spendy for what it was though. I stay in a lot of hotels and have paid the same for better places in bigger cities. Anyway, that is my review. Hope they get the message.
