The hotel has great potential, and you can tell the staff are doing their best in what seems to be a very challenging situation, largely due to the owners’ greed. This becomes particularly evident in the hotel restaurants, where the prices are outrageously high. While kids get a free buffet (with mostly unhealthy options), parents are hit with exorbitant prices.
A perfect example of this is when we were charged 5 Swiss Francs for a 1L serving of tap water. Yes, you read that right: plain tap water, not cold, no lemon, nothing—just tap water. The waiter didn’t mention the charge when we ordered, and I only found out at the end. When I confronted the manager, I was met with an attitude as if I was unreasonable for being upset about being charged an absurd amount for tap water. The explanation I got involved electricity bills and other costs that supposedly justified this price. Excuse me, but I’ve already paid over 2000 CHF for the stay. I don’t think it’s too much to expect free tap water, especially when I paid 80+ CHF for two tiny pastas with so little meat, you could count the pieces on one hand!
The management needs a wake-up call to address these shady business practices. It’s not just the guests who are getting a raw deal, but the staff who have to enforce these unfair policies. I will not be returning. The experience has left a very bitter taste.
