Swiss air has always been a favorite to fly with. Staff are friendly, and always serving customers. From small chocolates when you arrive in Switzerland, to nice meals with wine 🍷, Swiss air offers a very fair flight price with service that is better than most airlines. Thanks for offering such great flights!

4/22/2025: Really enjoyed the business class flight from NRT to ZRH. The single seat booth was spacious and there were plenty of small closets for securing personal items which was awesome. Although the flight was 14 hours long, the quality of meals, snacks and services were impeccable so I didn’t mind the long flight. The bathroom was 2 at the each side so no needed to wait. Overall it was one of the best business class flight experiences 4/23/2025: Next day flight ZRH to YUL Business class was tiny and everything was outdated. They didn’t provide slippers either. Meals were super salty and not tasty I will avoid this flight in the future

Unfortunately service went downhill and is worse than with low cost airlines. I feel like their management is completely detached from reality, and is asking employees to make customer experience from checkin to the flight as unpleasant as possible, so that you never want to come back. Just some recent examples: 1) I was denied boarding because of their mistake. Afterwards Swiss Air customer service tried to deny any wrongdoing in written communication (and was also corky). Luckily I had 3 of my friends as witnesses to prove my point. 2) My mother and her friend missed boarding because Swiss Air personal at the gate didn’t announce anything nor bothered to ask them if they were waiting for the boarding at 6am (being only two people there). They were right in front of the gate! Until today, no compensation. They had to purchase another ticket that day, and then her friend got bullied by the Swiss Air ground stuff that she almost got a heart problem and her hands were shaking for an hour after. Also no excuse from Swiss until today about this. Even flying business, you are not safe from literal harassment and unfriendliness of their stuff most of the time. I don’t know where do they get instructions to be so rude and unhelpful. Even Ryanair is so much more friendly. Forgot to mention that it’s also often really disgustingly dirty. On my recent business from Zurich to Tokyo there were still socks and garbage from previous passengers . On fly back, there was cutlery on the floor and crumbles everywhere.

Don't fly Swiss. They know, that their flights are delayed, but don't tell it until 45 minutes before, so you spend your day on the airport. But hey, for 3 hours delay and 5 hours at the airport you'll get a 7,50 voucher for which you don't even get a sandwich at Zürich Airport.

They parade themselves as a “premium” airline, but in reality they treat passengers worse than a budget carrier. The staff are arrogant, inconsistent, and completely indifferent to customers. Rules are applied randomly — one person is forced to check in a perfectly fine carry-on while others stroll past with bigger bags. When you question it, you’re met with rudeness and zero respect. What’s even worse is that the airline clearly doesn’t care about its reputation. Delays, cancellations, staff shortages — these happen constantly, and all they ever say is “sorry” without actually fixing anything. The pattern is obvious: SWISS does not value its passengers, and it shows in every detail. Look at the reviews everywhere online — the story is the same. People feel mistreated, ignored, and dismissed. This company hides behind its brand name but has no decency, no consistency, and no kindness left. For an airline that claims to represent Switzerland’s image of quality and class, it is nothing short of embarrassing. SWISS should be ashamed of how little it cares about its customers. It’s not just disappointing — a disgrace.

I was flying Zurich to Miami economy and it was the greatest experience! Especially I want to emphasize the extraordinary food for economy. They served Swiss cheese, ice cream and chocolates as a snack for free. The main courses were great too. Everything was just perfect! I really enjoyed the flight! Thank you so much!!!

We experienced an overnight delay on Edelweiss flight WK25 (Cancún → Zurich, 9 Nov 2025) and were extremely disappointed with how the airline handled the situation. Edelweiss refused to provide the EU261 compensation that is legally required, claiming a “technical reason” as an extraordinary circumstance — even though EU court rulings clearly state that routine technical issues are not extraordinary. Our case was dismissed with a generic response, and the airline also rejected basic reimbursement for expenses during the delay, despite their clear duty of care. Customer service refused to address the legal arguments and simply declared the case “closed”. This behaviour shows a lack of respect for passengers and for established EU law. We will be escalating the case to the Swiss Aviation Authority (BAZL) and the European Consumer Centre. A very disappointing experience. I cannot recommend Edelweiss or SWISS to travelers expecting fair treatment.

Google
I try and fly with Swiss as often as I can. It is my preferred airline. Staff on the actual aeroplane have always been super friendly and helpful. Saying that , I cannot recommend the staff at the Swiss counter should you have a query regarding your ticket. If the airline relied on the ‘ground staff ‘ at the ticket office then I do not know if they would be my preferred airline , but the staff on the actual flights are first class.

Yelp
My husband and I used this airline for our honeymoon. Everyone from the check in to the flight attendants are super friendly and attentive. We flew 8 hours there and back. Everyone was encouraged to keep their masks on the entire flight. Meals were hot, desserts were yummy. Upon arrival to Zurich airport, you are not in the city of Zurich. Follow the signs and you'll get to a sub train on the lower floor. Exit the train you want to head toward Airport Shopping area across the street, and find the area called the Circle downstairs. You'll be able to find the ticket machines to take the train into Zurich HB. If you need the language in English, the option should be on the right hand corner on the screen. Exiting Zurich HB, you'll find yourself in the middle of the beautiful city of Zurich. Also if you are looking for high quality chocolate for cheap - Cailler, Sprungli, Frey, and Frigor are brands you can't get in the states. You'll find Cailler on Amazon but it's $20 a bar compared to $2.50 per bar in Switzerland.

Yelp
I was glad I called ahead to check if they would serve Schlitz cocktails for my flight. They said they would not. Furthermore, they said I should not bring my own can of redi-whip because it contains aerosol and is not permitted on board. I am disappointed that I won't be able to enjoy my favorite mile high beverage, but my inquiry was met with courtesy and patience. That is why I still give 5 stars. Note: A Schlitz cocktail is a can of Schlitz beer (the best of the Midwest) served with whipped cream and a cherry on top. I personally like to add the flourish of a crazy straw that spells my name "J-E-R-E-M-Y," but that is optional.

Yelp
Best airline I've ever been on for economy class. Great, kind, attentive flight staff, good meals, lots of offerings- they walked constantly providing water, wine, soda, etc. Good movies, comfy seats. Very pleasantly surprised.

Yelp
I've held off writing a review, because I was waiting for Swiss International Air Lines to respond. It has not, so here is my story. I booked a once-in-a-life time trip for my family of 4, to Barcelona Spain, for a 7-day Princess Cruise. Very long story, short, we got switched from United to American to Lufthansa to Swiss. I was told, on several occasions, that our bags were on board, and I had no reason to worry. You can tell where this is going. Upon arrival in Spain, none of our luggage made it. We boarded our cruise ship with only the clothes we had on, for a 7-day voyage in the Mediterranean. Our bags caught up with us on day 5. I had my travel agent write to seek some kind of consideration, but Swiss has ignored her. I've been waiting since June 2016. Don't get me wrong. The flight was fine, service was superb. The entertainment on board was fine. But telling me all is fine with our bags and then to find out, it was not, ruined our trip. The "Fine watch" of Swiss stopped ticking.

Yelp
I was lucky enough to fly on Swiss Air out of Roma. We were on an Airbus which was very clean. 4 Flight Attendents, which is one more than most other airlines on this size plane. They came out right away to do service. Coffee was quite good, which is amazing on a plane. They also use a heavy paper cup which is so much healthier than the styro cup. Juice was real and pure, no high futrose corn sryup here. Then they came through with baskets of little Chocolate bars. Next up was Duty Free. They really worked hard and were very nice. The view out the window into Zurich was so beautiful! We flew right over the Alps, AMAZING! Looking forward to another holiday in Switzerland.

Yelp
Those packing for a vacation to European countries beware: luggages allowed onto United Airlines in America will be asked to be checked in at both the Frankfurt, Germany airport and Barcelona, Spain airport due to size specifications that are thinner and longer than those used in the US. The oddity is although the airline is different, the type/model of the plane used is the same. As you walk to your seat on the plane, you'll notice this treatment is not universal. Airline employees in the airport are not friendly! While i stood in line to board the plane to Zurich at BCN, an airline employee began tagging each travelers carryon luggage. Many travlers before me had similar sized luggages. When it was my turn, my luggage needed to be weighed. No tag given. The employee told me to check the luggage at the front desk for €45, it was too heavy. This could not be possible since my luggage was weighed when I checked in at the Swiss Airline service counter. After removing a few articles of clothing and moving them to my backpack, I waited for the employee to return. This time I passed the examination. Aboard the plane, walking to my designated seat, I saw stored away in the overhead compartment baggages no different from mine and travelers who struggled to lift their luggages. Upon reaching my seat, I easily stowed my luggage into its designated spot noting the extra room all around. If not for the complimentary alcohol and service, I would give one star rating. Happy traveling!

Yelp
Here goes another 5 stars review... and that's the way to skew your distribution, even when you actively don't want to!! ... but yeah... what can I do? Swiss International Air Lines definitely deserves 5 stars. I have flown with this company countless times, to various destinations around the world and have never been disappointed. I of course cannot guarantee for each individual's experience, but what I can guarantee is that they are a very serious airline. In case of anything (delay, denying of boarding, rerouting etc.), they will undoubtedly comply with all the regulations and inform the passengers a.s.a.p. It's what people call "Swiss Quality". You pay more, but you have some guarantees which other companies don't give you. Besides the very nice comfort in the airplane (leather seats and plenty of leg room, unlike KLM or Air France: yak!), the flight attendants are always smiling and, at the end of the meal service, they serve everyone with chocolate! I have been a choco addict for as long as I can remembered and I have quite some strong selective tastes about chocolate, so you should believe me when I say... their chocolate tastes very good! Thin and creamy, doesn't feel like the type of chocolate you get for free on airplanes :) Swiss Quality once more. Regarding serious stuff: I have had at least 3 important interactions with this airline. I will list them below. Feel free to skip them or why not read on... it's interesting :D First, a guy I was accompanying and me arrived at Terminal1 for check - in just 35 minutes before the guy's flight (with Swiss Airlines) was scheduled to depart (it was my fault but hey... this doesn't matter here). We were scared as hell, barely breathing from so much running and went straight at the counter. The guy didn't speak English, so I had to speak for him.. Told the lady when his flight was scheduled (I was not departing with him). She almost had a shock, told us it's you know pretty late.. yes, of course we know but what can we do, he really needs to leave now, can we please solve this etc. She then gave couple of phone calls and accepted to check his luggage in, by making a huge exception (she told us). Then she was very direct in telling us that the guy needs to be at the gate in exactly 15 minutes, as the airplane will wait for him. If he doesn't arrive, they won't board his luggage and he will be rescheduled. Miraculously (don't ask me how), the guy managed to do it and he arrived home safely. Point to be taken: there are not many airlines in this world to the counter of which you can appear 35 minutes before the actual departure time and still be accepted to board the plane. Second, I was flying to Zurich from New Delhi and was supposed to change in Milan. Two weeks prior to my departure, the flight Milan - Zurich was announced to be cancelled, so the third - party company through which I had booked my ticket contacted me for re-routing. We've been exchanging e-mails for one week and they kept offering me very bad alternatives (deviations of 1/2 days from my expected arrival in Zurich). It was super stressful. At some point, after e-mails and phone calls with many Airlines, I decided to contact Swiss. I told them my problem and, in 5 minutes, they solved it by re-scheduling me on a New Delhi - Zurich direct flight, on the exact same day, much faster of course. Everything went smoothly, no problem with the booking nor anything. Customer service also very good. Third and last, I was once flying to Bucharest and the plane was overbooked. They offered a compensation of 300+ CHF for two passengers who would accept to re-route through VIenna, the entire journey lasting only 2 more hours. I thought it was a nice deal and it was not a problem being couple of hours late in Bucharest, so accepted it. I was then given my personal Swiss staff attendant, that guided me through the airport (for gate change), made sure that my luggage was re-routed as well and gave me the card to cash the money. She was very nice and we had a good conversation time as well. On the flight from Zurich to Vienna, I was even upgraded to Business class, which was great! Food was really tasty, wine selection wonderful and, of course, preferential treatment. I have no idea how that upgrade happened, but it made my day! Hope I didn't bore you to death with this review... It was just meant to say that Swiss Airlines do offer the legendary Swiss Quality we've all heard of!

Yelp
Swiss Air is a reliable and professionally run airlines. They have mostly professional staff - unlike the US with most of the flight attendants with a chip on their shoulder. and short fused. Swiss Air's equipment appears newer and I rarely had problem with them. It is also good to be part of the Star Alliance as I have been a Continental (now United) customer for a long time.

Yelp
No new securities are made for SWISS since July 3, 2006 when we flew out of Zurich to Rome FCO and they put our 1 luggage in the wrong plane and send it back to New York and the next day, they put our 1 luggage back to Zurich and continue to Rome on the Avro jet and we got it in the room in Jolly Hotel near the Spanish community of Rome Italy. Next time we fly on different airline direct to Rome on the future plane out of Zurich Kloten Airport to Rome FCO on the new Airbus A318neo plane.

Yelp
Worst booking and web check-in company airline systems I've ever experienced!! During two days we couldn't book online by Swiss (system issue), so we decided to use ebookers booking system and we succeeded immediately!! We after wanted to change return flight for flying back earlier home and we called Swiss hotline. Employee told me that's not possible for this booked flight by ebookers!! She charged us more than double of (paid flight price) for one way flight!! I did many times change return flights by other airlines and I just paid some fees!! That was very ugly!! I complained by Swiss and I've never got an answer!! Swiss web check-in system is very worse! While web check-in + choosing seats for 2 passengers system often only identified a passenger and once check-in is done you won't be able to execute the same for second passenger! System answered web check-in completed and print now boarding card! I each time called hotline for finishing web check-in! Other airlines web check-in systems are customer-friendly and much better. We don't fly with horrible Swiss airline any more! Honestly not with such a bad partner!
