Swissôtel Le Plaza Basel

This is a brilliant hotel. The staff is outstanding in the service. I stayed here for 3 nights. The reception staff and the security staff are very kind and helpful. This property has nice luxurious rooms with very good amenities that a traveller would need, including a bathrobe a comfortable bed, choice of pillows etc. there is a 55 inch led screen tv in the room and the breakfast buffet is lavish. There is a bathtub and good toiletries. I love this hotel and look forward to staying here each time I am in Basel Switzerland.

Great hotel, super friendly staff, very nice rooms. May be the quietest hotel I've ever stayed in. The breakfast buffet is amazing and is included with the room. I also found that they were able to convert dollars to francs at a good rate, so that was very convenient as well. Thanks for giving us such a great start to our vacation!

Really old hotel with old facilities. The room was pretty clean, but I had to clean bath to use it. Free Wi-Fi was really slow, bed was small and uncomfortable. Breakfast wasn't so good, I had just a few vegan options there, seems like everything else had pork. The thing I liked the most was sauna. Didn't like the location as well. Overall, I wouldn't stay here next time.

This is a wonderful hotel. The rooms are really nice, clean and spacious. The food is excellent, the variety in the breakfast is superb, and everything is amazing. The staff is helpful and super friendly. The only negative thing is, that the internet speed is abysmal, they should really upgrade that, as we're already in 2017. Would still recommend this hotel without a thought.

Stayed here during a heat wave. The air conditioning in the hallways and common areas is fine, but the air conditioning in the rooms does not effectively cool the room down. I had hoped it was just my room, but it turns out many other people attending for the same conference have the exact same issue. They are handing out fans at the front desk, but those are just circulating increasingly hot air. It might be a nice hotel for fall/winter/spring, but it's miserable in the summer.

Hands down the BEST breakfast buffet that I have ever experienced in my whole life!!! I've stayed here for about 2 weeks on 2 separate occasions. Each time has been fantastic & from the first time here I have opted to stay at a Swissôtel (if there is one around) whenever I travel. Friendly & very helpful staff throughout. Hopefully be back again in 2017...

Hotel is currently being renovated so take what I say as potentially past tense. The location for the price is the most important point of this hotel. It is right in the middle of anywhere you want to be in Basel and the included public transportation makes it easy to get around. The rooms are large and the beds are very comfortable. They also were willing to let us borrow power converters.My only gripe is with the (soon to be renovated) bathroom. The shower is horrible and water gets everywhere.

The staff is amazing. Super friendly and helpful with any questions or issues. The location is next to the main convention center, the tram stop is called Messeplatz. The room is great. Comfy bed, TV, wired internet station on the desk with retractable cable, fridge, safe, etc.
