SwissTech Hotel

Dear Sir||All was very good. For us older persons it was / is very difficult that we are forced to phone, QR, online banking I don't have and I dont' want..... I see the persons only handy...., during driving, crossing the road, in the lectures, in discussions, .... For me it would have been much easier bank transfer BEFORE arriving for our congress at Swiss Convention Center. So I had to ask a collegue to help me and give him back by bank transfer. Except this all in order.||Kindest regards||gr

If your target is the Convention Center nearby then this hotel is an incredibly convenient location. Bring an umbrella: No covered access.||Keep in mind that it does not have a coffee machine in the room and the coffee is not complimentary except during breakfast hours. Also keep in mind this hotel does not have room service. If you need to eat you need to step out. Next door restaurants are limited to a burger place and an Italian restaurant. The latter has vegetarian options but it has limited opening hours and is closed on Sundays. If your diet is gluten-free you are then well advised to bring your own food. There is a nearby convenience store / supermarket but it is not always open / closed on Sundays.||Also important is to save the codes for door access and elevator access - they send them by email and you better keep them with you at all time because the door is locked at 6:30 PM and you need that code to open it and also to use the elevator otherwise you are locked out.||Likewise if you forget the key in the room: This hotel does not have a reception 24/7 so if you are locked out you may have to call their emergency number. Oh and no phones in the room!

The hotel was really nice and near the EPFL metro station. There are restaurants and bars nearby, just down the floor of the hotel. The hotel provides a transport card for public transport around the area and also an access card to the gym nearby, which is convenient. The hotel staff were really nice and assisted whenever needed.

The room was spacious and clean, but the overall experience had drawbacks. The entrance felt uninviting, only twin beds were available, and it can get noisy since it’s above a train station. Also, the location is quite far from Lausanne city center, which makes getting around less convenient.

We went to Lausanne to watch the Swiss Swimming Championships. The hotel is located right at the EPFL tram station which makes it easy to get around without a car. The hotel is located at the Swiss Tech campus where you'll find two nice restaurants and two supermarkets as well. ||The rooms at Swiss Tech are clean and not too small so that the hotel is good base for exploring Lausanne and surrounding areas. The staff is friendly and supportive if you have any questions or concerns. There were no issues during our stay and we would consider the Swiss Tech again when visiting Lausanne next time.

The place offers the very basics. The most unfortunate thing was that there was not a small firge in the room and during the hot day it was very much needed. Also the fan in the room is not enough to cool you down it's just make noise. I understand that it's for sustainability but there are also different alternatives. I don't believe I will use the hotel next time.

the rooms are very comfortable, the service is excellent. I arrived during reception closing hours but received very clear instructions and had no problem getting into my room!!

Really nice experience, the metro station is right in front, it doesn't get better than that. Very close to EPFL, it would be nice to have a wider range of restaurants in the area but Lausanne is close by fortunately.
