S.Y. Kitchen

I had a high expectation coming with locals that, like us, are adept foodies with Italian and European culinary experience. We wanted to like the place but all four of us were, sadly, not impressed. Especially not impressed, given the sometimes pricey menu items. Positives: Decor is simple, clean, and nicely spaced so that you don't feel crowded. Noise level is optimal, you can have a conversation. Service was pleasant, very professional, but unnecessarily slow on a night when only half the restaurant was filled. The drink selection was very good. However, I must say that while the cocktails were creatively designed, and overpriced as many are, they didn't always turn out so tasty. A matter of creative ingredients that sound interesting but that do not necessarily work well together. In other words, paying for the novelty more than the flavor. The food was the most limiting factor. Despite a nicely balanced menu and a good wine list, the preparations were often just OK but certainly not great or memorable. The gnocchi may have been the exception: fluffy light pillows of flavor in a delicate and well balanced cream sauce. The lamb filled pasta was dry inside and the sauce inadequate to make up for the insipid flavor. The waiter enthusiastically sold an overpriced cut of beef that was good but not exceptional in any way. The pizza was good even if some of the large-edged crust was beyond crispy. Desserts were decent but generally average. All in all, the place would have been a pleasant meal if it were in a nice cafe but in an expensive highly-rated restaurant, we were not impressed enough to return.

GO HERE. Food is amazing. Service is just as good. Rachel was great. Friendly, upbeat, and good conversation. We had the burrata board app and the sausage and burrata pizza. More than enough for two to split and every bite was spectacular. We didn’t order pasta but the neighboring tables did. They raved about it but it did look on the smaller side. We will be back!! This is one of the BEST restaurant I have ever been to ! We live in LA, and spent the weekend visiting Solvang, Santa Barbara and the whole area. We stayed in Santa Ynez, and booked that restaurant for Friday Dinner. The place is beautiful! Such a big , unique and authentic restaurant. The food was DELICIOUS! You know what? delicious is an under statement. We love dinning out, we go to restaurants all over LA. This one, is definitely one of the best we have ever tried, if not the best! The pizza, the bread (oh my goodness, I wish I had this bread now :-) ....), the pasta, the salmon - was the best salmon I have ever ate, the deserts, and I can continue on and on. We were a big group; 8 people in one table, and 4 people in another table next to us. Everything we order was top notch! The service was perfect too. Our server were very nice, kind, attentive and welcoming young girl. I can not wait to visiting this area again, especially because of that restaurant. Do not hesitate , you will thank me later.

The ambience of the place is wonderful; definitely gives a nice homey, country vibe! The establishment was also very clean and the staff were very kind and professional! I gave the food 4/5 only because the prices are very high and I feel that the food isn’t something out of this world or unique. Thanks for the experience!

Wow!! What an incredible experience last weekend! The service was fantastic, the food was absolutely incredible, we both loved the artichoke appetizer, my pasta and my husband’s Halibut was out of this world. Can’t wait to visit again soon!!

Let me tell you about this amazing restaurant !! Words can’t express the love in the food and hospitality. Being from the south this is rare!! When I found myself back here I have to see our server George who was a 10/10 I recommend !! The owner John was equally as charming . Ty for showing this Nashville girl that real hospitality even exist on the west coast !!! Food was beyond amazing !!!! Try rh truffle tbonr burger and of the pasta dishes . Everything is made of the finest ingredients !!!

Yummiest beet salad ever. Unfortunately we had a late lunch so we were not super hungry. Parking was plentiful. A converted home. Well done. Open kitchen. Great service and atmosphere. Overall wonderful experience. Need to return when we are starving. The next table had amazing looking pasta. We enjoyed wagyu meatballs but that beet salad was divine. Look forward to returning. Definitely make reservations. At 6pm on a Sun it was pretty full

Santa Ynez Gem - Amazing Food, Atmosphere & Cocktails! This restaurant is hands down my favorite in Santa Ana! The moment you step inside, you're welcomed by a modern and stylish atmosphere that beautifully contrasts the charming, cowboy-inspired town. The cozy fireplaces add such a warm and inviting touch, making it the perfect spot for a memorable dining experience. Now, let's talk about the food--absolutely phenomenal! I cannot rave enough about the wild mushroom pasta--so creamy, fresh, and packed with incredible flavor. And the stuffed mushrooms? To die for! Every dish was crafted to perfection, making it impossible not to savor every bite. And then there were the cocktails--simply next level! While I usually stick to wine, I decided to try their Cilantro Mezcal Margarita, and wow--what an experience! Creamy, delicious, and bursting with bold flavors, this cocktail was a total game-changer. A must-try for anyone who loves a well-crafted drink! Beyond the food and drinks, the service was impeccable, and the overall mood of the restaurant was just perfect. I highly recommend this spot, and I can confidently say that I will never visit Santa Ana without dining here. An absolute must-visit!

Cozy dinner spot in Santa ynez! I swear the food is better than the place looks. I will not name everything but we were not disappointed by any of the food we ordered, even the radicchio salad with PERSIMMON. My weakness. Another weakness: mushroom pappardelle pasta. SO GOOD. The prosciutto and Brie board was so good too. The tomatoes and olives were an amazing touch. Oh you MUST try the pistachio brûlée. Absolute MUST. I think everyone liked their drinks, except my friend didn't like the cilantro margarita but I traded my pineapple one for hers since I like my margs more herbal. Our waiter was so sweet and helpful. She gladly complied with our secret ask to add a birthday dessert (not complimentary). I would totally recommend this to my friends if they want a cozy dinner spot!

SY is one of my most favorite restaurants in all of the land. I was able to snag a reservation on a Saturday evening, so decided to take a road trip from SF to Santa Ynez! A mere four hours each way for a meal I have been dreaming about... NBD. This was a long overdue visit, and it did not disappoint. Mind you, I have been dreaming of the Truffle Pizza since my last visit several years ago, so here we are. We hit the road relatively early, but not early enough. We hit some traffic on the way, so after calling in to alert the hostess of our tardiness, they thankfully accommodated us. Praise that. I think I would have cried if we missed out. Upon our arrival, we were seated at a high top table, luckily in Matthew's section. He was personable and very knowledgeable; recounting the specials with ease, and with impressive memory. Last on his list of items, there she was... THE TRUFFLE PIZZA. My insides performed backflips in anticipation. We were ready for a spread, and famished after our drive. So we ordered as such with Matthew: * Grilled Artichoke * Meatballs * Burrata * Mushroom Papadelle * Guinea Hen * Truffle Pizza * Panna Cotta * Tiramisu Each course was outstanding. The flavors were excellent, and the dishes were inviting to the eyes. SY definitely delivered on our hopes and dreams, with the help of spectacular service provided by Matthew. The team behind SY has a couple new establishments in the works, and I cannot wait to see them grow. I also cannot wait to experience their level of culinary magic again. The problem with Italian food is that five or 6 days later you are hungry again - George Miller A long overdue review. One of my favorite dinner experiences after a cheese/wine tasting charity event in Solvang. The restaurant is situated in an old farmhouse and serves lovely comfort food Italian cuisine sourced locally. Sat outside on a cold December night but the heaters kept us cozy. The pasta, pizzas, veggies are all wonderful. The flavors do remind you of being back in Italy, but with a California twist. Meatballs, octopus, cauliflower and the pizza are standouts. Wine selection is outstanding, a mix of local wineries plus Italian. I opened up two of my favorite Spanish and Italian wines this night. Corkage was reasonable at $30 a bottle. We were with special friends and had brought special bottles. Service was friendly and hipsterish ;-) Highly recommended when in the Solvang/Santa Barbara Wine country area!

Mainly our server wins the 2024 talent award. Funny. Patient. Rewarding. Matthew P. I don't want to leave ! Mom says "super shmooper" Tasty food for the folks. Truffle pizza was good. Butternut squash soup - good. Come early - less people... quieter ambiance.

Excellent atmosphere, service and of course all the good food. Started the meal with a few good drinks and order of their bread with butter, oil, and red peppers and their Parmesan seasoned artichoke which was so tender. Then got the octopus salad which was cooked perfectly and had a crust on the outside of it. For our meal we got the Bison short rib sauce over fresh made pasta and cheese and pepper ravioli in a chicken broth consommé. Then the moist tender lamb shank. Could not get the dessert cause of being too full. Excellent!

First Timer; I learned that Chef Luca was a head chef at restaurants in LA that were very very successful and has culinary training in Italy. I think Verona, Italy and partnered with the owners of his old LA restaurant to open this one. The menu suggest things that are fresh and in season and locally sourced. The food is very high-quality, from what I can see. Very pleased on this first visit Sat at Bar, seat not the most comfortable, bartender great, drink menu - nothing I wanted to order at first BUT as I watched him make everything I began to rethink my desires, lol. I wish I would've looked at the pictures of the cocktails and would've ordered a cocktail. The wine list is very minimal or rather the wine by the glass is very minimal and basic but all very good. I had the Beet Salad Bobs Bread (meh) and Butternut Squash Soup. Beet Salad, one of the BEST beet salads I can ever remember eating, it was incredible, so simple, very flavorful. I can tell this is one of those places that doesn't overdo things, I like that so much, really can't wait to come back and order a full meal! Squash Soup was very good too, not oozing with cream. NOTES NO PETS Purses hung by the door left alone wow we would never do this at home Outside Dining looks incredible, so cozy I will eat out there next time if I can Inside, not too noisy I was kind of surprised given the floors and height of the ceilings, but it was very pleasant

The food was amazing, the wild mushroom pappardelle is now my new favorite pasta. It was creamy, and delicious. The oxtail ragu was good as well. The food came out quick and the service was great! If you're in the area I would recommend getting some pasta!

Wow! The food is amazing, the cocktails are fabulous! The service was great too. The restaurant was a little small. I believe it's a converted home maybe? So it's a little squished together, tables are close to each other.

This was our second time to SY Kitchen and to be honest, it was one of the reasons we came back to visit Santa Ynez. Came here for dinner on Friday (1/3/25) with my wife and 2 kids. We decided to change our reservation from 6:30p to 4:45p to avoid the crowds plus we were already hungry. We chose to sit outside at the corner booth which was so nice under the heat lamps. It felt like a private dinner experience. Service was great and the drinks/food came out right away (likely because we were the first customers ). The cocktail here are so good! We ordered the El Viejo (spicy and smokey), Valley girl (so refreshing), Smoked old fashion (perfection). For food, everything was delicious! Starting in order from our favorite to least: branzino (usu offered as a special), wild mushroom pappardelle (al dente and perfect seasoning), octopus (tender and delicious), yellow beet salad (light and refreshing), margherita pizza (tomato sauce is excellent), waygu meat balls (kids enjoyed it). Dessert we had the pistachio creme Brulee which has to be their signature dessert and it's fantastic! All and all, we had another great dinner experience here again 2/2. We definitely look forward to coming back again!

We are in town from Orange County and stumbled upon SY Kitchen. We had such a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was amazing and the food was so flavorful and delicious. I would highly recommended for a nice night out. We also really enjoyed the ambiance. Cheers!

If you're in Santa Ynez, SY Kitchen is a "don't miss". The food was spot-on and the service outstanding. And as a big fan of beet salads, I'd be remiss if I didn't call out the MOST amazing YELLOW BEET salad (shaved beetroot, hazelnuts, goat cheese, pickled plum spice, fresh lemon, thyme)...see photo.

Delicious!!!!! Our first time in Santa Ynez and yes this is the place to be. The butter squash soup is delicious. The texture is light and flavorful. The Maccheroncini Pasta with Bison also delicious and to top it off the pistachio crème brûlée is a must. We had a Pinot noir to enjoy the evening weather outside with the fire pit and the warm blanket. Servers were so attentive and friendly. An unforgettable experience.

This place is expensive, but worth every cent! Reservations are recommended, the two of us walked in.. 10 minute wait. Beautiful building, clean well maintained. You will be pampered by the staff::: We started with the grilled artichoke which was a little of a let down.. for the price.. and size... and bread board! Delicious. There is daily specials we did not partake.. wife had the grilled chard, and mushroom pasta... followed for dessert the affogato. I had a few local beers, then the margarita pizza, followed by a double pour of straight ballinngtons whiskey which was poured generously! Thank you.. the service is top notch. The food is delicious and all made from scratch. There's outdoor seating and indoor seating. Plenty of parking . Bathrooms are clean. We felt as if we were eating at someone's house.

The name is deceiving as I did not expect to find REAL Italian food in this establishment. We stopped in for Lunch by chance and discovered that the Chef Francesco is born and raised Italian from Verona. These days it's rare to find Italian chefs still on the burners that can satisfy Italian foodies who are always in search of a nostalgic but contemporary surprise. We came back for the dinner menu and were NOT disappointed, to say the least. Beet salad was ever so lightly marinated, letting me want to lick the plate. And I truly dislike beets. Really! The seasonal Tortelli di Zucca alla Mantovana (generously topped with black shave truffles) were silky smooth. The Ribeye was (BBQ) smoked to perfection. Topped with wild mushrooms and served on a bed of oven baked potatoes cubes. I'm not much for desert, but the Sicilian pistachio crème brûlée was a great finish. Sat a the Bar as always and received great service. I will be back.

I have wanted to try this spot for so long and finally went tonight! It was so delicious. We made a reservation a few days ago and honestly, even for January and it not being prime tourist time, the restaurant was jammed. They do have some parking right out front but I could see that being a challenge at times. There is a couch and fire pit to enjoy out front in case there is a wait. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. The service was excellent. Our waitress was super friendly and even the other staff were tending to our table- keeping our water glasses full, clearing the table as we finished dishes. Super impressed. I started with The Valley Girl cocktail (vodka) and it was delish! My husband really liked the El Ranchero (bourbon). We decided to start with the toasted ciabatta, yellow beet salad, and the sweet onion soup on special this day. Everything was incredible. I was really impressed with the spicy chili spread that came with the ciabatta. For entrees, we decided to get the half jidori chicken and the Dungeness crab spaghetti. Both were so tasty. One thing I noticed is their current menu online doesn't match the menu we were given at the restaurant. We opted to take some tiramisu to go and I can't wait to try it! Such a fun experience and great spot for a date night, meet up with friends, or just a fun night out in the valley.

What an incredible find in Santa Ynez. Stopped by on the way home from Solvang to Los Angeles, and what an incredible experience it was. The service was impeccable along with the selection of food. For a party of two, we shared the wild mushroom pappardelle and salmon salad. The pastas are made in house and you can definitely tell that they are made with love. The salmon salad had an array of different vegetables each complimenting the next. I highly recommend to order the el viejo as a drink and the pistachio creme brûlée if you love pistachios. Cant wait to come back in the near future. Highly recommend for anyone staying in Santa Ynez or driving by.

Very upscale and hip Italian restaurant in the middle of Santa Ynez. You definitely feel like you're dining somewhere in greater Los Angeles, and not in a small town. The restaurant is very noisy, busy, and bustling. We were there for dinner on a Sunday night. They also have a nice outdoor patio, which seems to be quieter. Drinks and wine list are very good, albeit expensive. Glasses of wine start at $17. The cocktails are strong. Everyone enjoyed their dishes, but I found the chicken to be a little dry. It also comes with a chili sauce, and I recommend getting this on the side because it is intensely spicy. The octopus salad was very good, as was the golden beet salad. Service was friendly, but it did take a long time for us to get our dishes. We had a 7:30 reservation, we seated promptly, and did not end up leaving until after 9:30 PM. Making a reservation is a good idea because the restaurant is very busy, as previously mentioned.

Beet Salad was amazing! Cut paper thin. Salmon truly melt in your mouth. Artichoke and pizza great too. Only thing not particularly interesting was the tiramisu. Would try a different dessert next time. Service was friendly and efficient.

We came here for dinner and everything was really delicious! We ordered the black truffle pizza for the table to share, it was one of the daily specials. The crust was perfect and very flavorful. I also had the Chilean sea bass special which was cooked to perfection. Our server was great, she checked in on us but we never felt rushed. The atmosphere is cozy and I like that you can look into the kitchen. I would definitely come back.

Really an amazing lunch! SY Kitchen has a very comfortable patio & dining room. We ordered 3 different pasta dishes and a soup! The staff were very professional and the service was exemplary! Enjoyed that the Owner/Manager came over to insure we were enjoying ourselves and our meals! This place is worth going out of your way to have a lunch or a dinner.

Food was okay but prices have raised significantly. Much too expensive for what you get. The $9 bread was a hard roll...not a loaf to be shared. Tasted stale. Serious srink-flation on top of it. Poor service too...both of my co-diners were served their dinner while I waited with nothing for my soup entree...how hard is it to pour soup? My glass of wine didn't come till I was almost finished AND we had to ask for it Used to frequent often but the last two visits were disappointing with poor service. This was not just a one-off.

SY Kitchen is my boyfriend and I's go-to date night spot. I almost always have the New York steak, perfectly cooked medium rare. Their tiramisu dessert is amazing. Service is always friendly.

Favorite restaurant in the wine country! The food & the service top notch. Super comfortable outdoor seating, mediterranean vibe (olive trees, hello!). Anything you order will be delicious. This time around we had T-BONE sliders, a must have! So juicy and that crunchy Parmesan & truffle cheese is just genius! Branzino was perfectly cooked, and loved the veggies and the green fresh oregano sauce, which I wish there was more of on the plate. Can't go wrong with pasta! And a huge thanks to John for accommodating us so warmly :)

My husband and I came here for our anniversary dinner and loved it!! Ambiance: Elegant, stylish, warm, and cozy / great playlist that added a calm, romantic vibe Service: Server was kind, professional, knowledgeable & attentive. The owner also brought our appetizer & checked on us, which was kind. Food: Calabrese Pizza, delicious & flavorful & toasted ciabatta - loved the Calabrian chili & the loaf was warm & fresh! Drinks: Smoked Old Fashioned ~ flavorful & aromatic!

Absolutely delicious the pasta was my favorite but the salad was great, the ministrone soup was amazing and the bread service was mouth watering

Everything was right on. From three appetizers, to entree, to dessert. My meal was everything I hope for and more. We had the olives, squash soup, appetizers. They were all fantastic. For entree I had the wild mushroom pappardelle, and my wife had the roasted chicken. Both were perfection. The pistachio creme brulee was delicious. I haven't had such a satisfying meal like this in decades. It was a perfect storm meal! The service was absolutely impeccable. Friendly and Very well timed and efficient. Five stars plus.

What a treat. Excellent kitchen. Definitely need reservations. We ended up sitting at the bar and it was so much fun. Great to people watch and interact with everyone.

Had a very enjoyable New Year's Eve dinner at SY Kitchen. The service was outstanding and the food was delicious. Particularly enjoyed the bean soup and wood-fired pizza.

Parking is available, but when it's crowded, you may have to park near the other shops / the gas station around the corner (we did) The food is great - excellent actually - but the service leaves a LOT to be desired. We walked in at our reservation time, waited in a 10 minute line to speak to the hostess, who told us to stand on the side and she'd find us a table "soon." We then waited another 8 minutes to be seated and then 12 more for water and a waitress to come by. Not in love with that. We started with a cocktail each - great balance and not overly sweetened! For an appetizer, we ordered Bob's Well Bread - it smelled divine, but was a bit hard (a little burnt almost on the edges / back). For entrees, we each ordered a pasta - one special of the night and one mushroom pappardelle. Both pastas were perfectly al dente and tasted amazing! I do wish there had been a red sauce pasta available for some variety, but the pastas we had were excellent! Overall, would probably return but I'd be hesitant to come in on a weekend (we were there on a Sunday) or a holiday when it might be busier. Although the manager was actually serving tables, it seemed that the place was understaffed / the staff weren't efficiently organized.

Was recommended this place by a coworker who visits this area for its wineries and this place did not disappoint. He told me that getting the truffle pizza was a must and I'm glad that I finally got to try it. The truffle pizza was not part of the actual menu; it was part of their special so make sure to ask them what today's specials are since it seems like it changes from time to time. We didn't make a reservation so we had to wait about 30-45 minutes for an open table, which we were seated on the outside patio in the early evening. It was pretty chilly so we requested if they could turn on the outdoor patio heaters which they did. It was a beautiful evening and we were able to enjoy this delightful meal; I've never had actual truffle before let alone on a pizza before but it was a really great experience ! I would definitely come back again just to order this again if I were craving something with a lot of flavor but I wouldn't recommend getting this too often as it is certainly very rich in flavor.

A group of 8 of us ate here on a wi e tasting weekend. We had a reservation for 8 and it took a few minutes to seat us but we got the perfect table outside Perfect ambience. Food was amazing! The pasta with house-made sausage...OMG! I cleaned the plate. Will definitely be back!

We've been to SY Kitchen many times, when we visit the Santa Ynez area. The food and service is outstanding. Their wood fired pizza is simply the best pizza I have ever had--including Rome. Pastas are well cooked and use the freshest ingredients. Prices are fair, commensurate with the quality. Their outside seating is my choice, as it's quiet and mellow. The inside is more lively. Lots of locals eat here, which is a good sign.

I've had the pleasure of dining at S Y Kitchen two times and have really enjoyed my experiences! I discovered the restaurant through my explore feed on Instagram. The most recent time I went was a few months ago for a date night with my boyfriend. I ordered the Valley Girl cocktail while my boyfriend got a glass of wine. Despite not being sure what to order from the wine list, the server was extremely helpful in providing a recommendation. To start, my boyfriend and I got the yellow beet salad. I'm not usually a huge fan of beets but actually really enjoyed the salad. It had a perfect variety of textures and flavors going on to provide a really balanced experience. For entrees, I got a special truffle pizza that the restaurant was offering while my boyfriend got the T - Bone Truffle sliders. The host was doing the rounds to check on all the tables, including us, and commented that he was really excited for us to try what we had ordered. We dug in and it was so delicious. The pizza had the perfect amount of cheese and oils and a crispy crust that pulled everything together. I didn't try my boyfriend's sliders but sampled a couple of his potatoes and they were delicious. He said he really loved the sliders. For dessert, we decided to try the tiramisu. It came in a little jar and was so good! Not too sweet which is always very important. Overall, I've had nothing but positive experiences thus far in coming here! The staff has always been very kind and the overall vibe of the restaurant is great. It's a nice balance of fine dining and being somewhat relaxed. At least for the budget I have in my life right now, the restaurant is on the pricier side so naturally it's saved for special occasions or date nights. I'm actually planning on returning this week so I'll see you soon, S Y Kitchen!!

Extremely disappointed in their customer service. I made a reservation with a note indicating it was my parents 50th wedding anniversary celebration and also called 20 minutes prior to the reservation to give my card information to put the meal on so my parents did not have to receive and check. I also asked to serve a dessert. Came to find out my parents still received the check a no dessert. When I called the front all the woman had to say "must have been a miscommunication" despite the multiple communications to make their meal a celebration. We came in from out of town to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary and it was disappointing to say the least that they received a check and had to pay.

My favorite spot in all of Santa Barbara and santa ynez. Solid cocktails, wine list, food. Some of my favorites are the olives, salads, salmon, special tuna salad, mushroom pasta, their vegan soups... Cozy atmosphere. Always have a nice time and it's very consistent. Would be fun if they added some more holiday /winter cocktails as their current ones although delicious are summer vibes.

Each time we visit Santa Barbara we always look forward to our meals at S.Y. Kitchen. Last week we dined there twice, 2 nights in a row. John was on duty both nights and made sure we had what we needed along with lively conversations. He and his staff are excellent at their jobs and made our evenings even more fun. The food is just amazing as is the presentation, atmosphere of casual elegance and the general vibe. You are in for a treat when dining there. Can't wait to return!! Thank you John and all!!! The wild mushroom pappardelle was the best among the pastas we ordered. The other two are just ok. The truffle pizza had a nice truffle flavor that we enjoyed. The indoor is small and was full during our visit. It had a warm vibe though a little bit noisy

Everything was great from the food , drinks , service , relaxed vibe in there , even their music playlist was top notch. Our server Juan was extremely friendly and personable. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone. The wild mushroom pappardelle with added black truffle was 10/10 and the pistachio creme brûlée was 10/10.

10 STARS! For real, this place has the absolute best pasta I have ever eaten. You HAVE to get the wild mushroom pappardelle and the clam linguini. The flavor of the pappardelle is just so buttery, creamy and delicious. I wanted to eat a second bowl, no joke. The clam one was also very good. Service is excellent, super friendly and the ambiance is so pretty. They are dog friendly on the outside patio. Come on the weekends for dinner and you can try their pizza, made in a wood fired pizza oven!! I missed out so the next time I'm in solvang, I'll have to swing on by. Be sure to make a reservation on open table. Also, we got a Yuzu dessert, which I must say was so good. The bathrooms were very clean and smelled nice lol. Prices aren't the cheapest but man, the food was sure worth it. That is all. You must try.

Had a 6:00 PM reservation for two for a birthday. Victoria was our server. She was very conscientious and pleasant. Ordered two cocktails one of which came back not properly made, once that was corrected they tasted very good. We ordered the beet salad and it was delicious except a very small portion. We shared the ham and wild mushroom pizza. It was very good and satisfying. We were a little disappointed nothing was offered for the birthday celebration. This is a very nice restaurant, but the ambience is not our style because the tables are so close together and the noise level is so loud. It is hard to have a private conversation.

It was a delicious dinner in a low-key, chill setting with attentive staff. Dishes that highlight freshness of the ingredients, just clean with distinct flavors. The humble minestrone soup was anything but, featuring sweet zucchini and even sweeter cherry tomatoes. Highly recommend the waygu meatballs, octopus salad and jidori chicken. Finished off with chocolate gelato and Tahitian vanilla penna cotta-both were spoon-licking good.

SY was the highlight of my trip. So glad that we checked this place out. I highly recommend the Wild Mushroom Pappardelle. This dish is absolutely divine! Imagine this: pronounced aroma from all the fresh mushrooms, al dente noodles, and all the garlic and butter and thyme and cheese - every bite was just out of this world. Hmmm I'm still thinking about it from time to time. I also tried: - Wagyu Meatballs (4/5): Tender, delicious meatballs. - Gigli Al Ropeton (5/5): Classic red sauce pasta dish. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would order again.

What a great dinner! The atmosphere is perfect and cozy, service perfect and food was amazing. We had the artichoke and two of the pasta dishes, a manhattan and an old fashioned, with pistachio crème brûlée and port for dessert. Every one of them was fantastic. We will definitely be back to try the pizzas and salads.

Had an amazing dinner with my husband at SY Kitchen. The ambiance here is great. So intimate and relaxing. Beautifully decorated. Now the food ..... absolutely delicious. The warm olives tasted amazing with the fresh bread and our drinks. The wild mushroom pasta was flavorful and amazing. The sauces of pastas are made to perfection. Let's just say everything we ordered tasted great. The service was excellent. The hostess was very welcoming and assured us that our table will be ready within minutes. We did have reservations and we were seated within our reservation time. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful to chose drinks and food. All of her recommendations worked well for us. She was very friendly and attentive. So we're everyone else who encountered with us. Overall I highly recommend this place, I can't wait to come back. This is added to my Santa Ynez favorites.

Perfectly acceptable meal in the area, absolutely par for the course. Thoroughly unmemorable food; pasta was correctly al dente but sauce was forgettable. Prices were high (such as $9 sparkling water), and waitstaff all dressed business-casual from the 1990's: sport coats and collars. If you're staying over, it's an inoffensive choice to go out to a "nice meal."
