Ordered 2 appetizers and could not have been more pleased. Burrata, beets and heirloom tomato plate was so fresh and paired great. The olive plate was super tasty. Went perfect with honey goat cheese. Great service, cute ambiance.

My wife and I took a trip to Sycamore this morning and it was a great experience! We both ordered a cappuccino, and then I got the Bagel & Lox while my wife ordered the OG Omlet. Everything was very delicious and nicely presented. The atmosphere was really cool! I love the shotgun style of the restaurant and we sat in one of the booths which was comfy and felt like our own little area for our morning date together. Highly recommend!

Cozy café serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Options for everyone (we have a vegan among us) Yogurt bowl was delicious and cappucinos were ama ing

All 4 of us ordered something different and everything was delicious. I ordered the chicken thighs at the suggestion of Taylor, our waitress, it was incredibly juicy while still having crispy skin! The chocolate chip cookies are huge but worth the calories and are easily enough for 2 people. From our experience I would say that you just can't go wrong eating here. I am from out of town and through sheer happenstance lucked into this gem of a place!

Dining at this restaurant was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. The food was truly outstanding. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and packed with incredible flavour. You could really tell the kitchen takes pride in their work. The service was just as impressive. Our server was warm, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever feeling rushed or overlooked. Their timing was spot-on, and their genuine hospitality made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had during my Columbus visit. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for excellent food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-tier service. I can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town.

I read the worst reviews of this place right before going in. So that will shape my review here. We were greeted kindly upon arrival. And told that our table was being set up, with an apology for anticipated wait. Our server came immediately with water to introduce herself, and ask if we minded her bringing some bread out for the table. The bread was really good. She explained the menu very well and was willing to give recommendations. The food came out quickly, and hot 4 different dishes between us and every one of them was perfect. None of us could finish our plates so the claim that the portions are tiny, are just false. Server was attentive, prices were fair, servings were normal, and nobody was mean to us.

What a special place! Came here for our anniversary dinner and we stop in for breakfast occasionally- love the atmosphere for a moody dinner but is so bright and inviting for breakfast. Great baristas. The poached egg and avacado toast are shining stars

Google
Great location, beautiful interior, and absolutely delicious food! I did think it was a little odd to order food & drinks at the counter. It definitely felt like a table service type of vibe. Regardless, it was an excellent experience and I look forward to coming back! Update: We went back to the sycamore after the great experience we had the first time and ran into some problems. The drinks, appetizers and service were still great. However, the hanger steak we ordered medium rare (which he said was the default for how they cooked it anyway) came out scorched. They also did not have steak knives so it was even harder to eat with how burned it was. They also gave us the wrong side for the steak (ordered a side salad). We'll still be back because the first experience we had was so good that I hope it was just a one off night. Hopefully I can put it back up to 5 stars!

Yelp
This place may be one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while!! The ambience as soon as you walk in was amazing. I'm someone who really only likes to sit at the bar bc I feel like you miss out on the atmosphere of a restaurant when you are sat at a bad table so I'd rather be in the middle of everything and at the bar! As soon as we walked in I was excited we had an actual reservation and got to sit at a table bc this place is so charming anywhere you sit you are still in the heart and soul of the restaurant. We did wait a minute before sitting at our table and grabbed a drink at the bar. The bartender made me one of the best dirty martinis I've had in awhile (I have a lot too). The blue cheese olives were so fresh and martini wasn't too dirty!! Just how I love it! Next up the food they started off by giving us free focaccia bread with a cheese olive oil and marinara dipping sauce. Sooooo good!!! Next we ordered the half village salad and it was huge perfect size to split along with the clam chowder soup recommended to us. We both had never had clam chowder and it was so yummy with 8 clams on top!! For entrees I got the chicken thighs. They were like yet crispy and the couscous was cheesy and then the figs made it all come together!! My husband got the hanger steak it was PERFECTLY cooked the sauce was delicious and the fries were yummy! We can't believe we had never been and can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Cozy evening in a great little place in German Village. The restaurant has amazing ambiance, perfect setting for a quite and relaxing date night. We made a reservation and waited a few minutes to be seated as our table was not available yet. Service was attentive and pleasant. They serve focaccia with marinara sauce for the table and we had both Brussel sprouts and fried risotto balls for appetizers. Portions were huge and everything tasted delicious. We shared a salad with grilled salmon that was also super tasty. Make sure to make a reservation since the place is small and is always full. They also have seats outside if the weather is good. Can't wait to be back for lunch or brunch on the weekends.

Yelp
Nestled in the middle of actual neighborhood is this gem of an eatery that we have made one of our haunts. I have been there for quick breakfast before hitting the road and dinner with partners and family. Neither time did it disappoint. The service can be a bit spotty in the morning and during shift change but I blame that on the never ending rotation of service industry talent I have seen in this city. The food has always been an experience and delightful at a reasonable price. Consider that we only eat seafood, it is often trying to find selections in a meat and potatoes type of area. This particular time we had a party of three and I settled for a lighter fare of mussels and pomme frites (fries) and a glass of wine. My usual late dinner selection which rang in at about $30-35 in total. The other party had the house made ravioli entree which was roughly $30, while our other dinner guest chose the skate fish entree which was about the same price. Fair warning that skate is an acquired taste which she soon found out and I am interested in knowing why it is being pushed even in the grocery stores. It is a thinner, oily fish that is not as fleshy as other choices. We ended up sharing a bit of our plates with each other as the night went on and had great conversation without interruption from other loud guests or children. A plus in my book! Dinner with drinks and all the fixings will run you a pretty penny so this will be a date night or night out selection. Please come dressed and ready to have an experience.

Yelp
Been meaning to come here for a while, just didn't have the chance. Had a little time today and wanted a bagel and lox, and they have one, so I swung in. Cool building, old but freshened up with plenty of windows and a nice interior, you can thankfully still see most of the original structure. Small, but plenty of seating options with booths, tables, and the bar. A fairly small menu too, but an interesting one. There's the lox, other breakfast type items, salads, and an assortment of interesting burgers. And it looks like they make or bring in pastries and other smaller breakfast items. Also, they have some very interesting housemade drinks. The bagel was great. Lightly toasted, crunchy and yet soft. Loads of good salmon on top, and capers, and cream cheese. Plenty for a light lunch. The lemonade was excellent. Pricey, perhaps, at six dollars, but they refilled it for free. And to put it in perspective, I spent six dollars on a K-pop branded latte yesterday that was half the size and half as good. Service is minimal but great. Prices are reasonable for the quantity and quality. I wanted something good but quick and I got it; I was out of there in half an hour. I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Food/drinks: Drinks are great here, the carrot appetizer was delicious, and I really enjoyed the Vegetable Tangine. The burger was average, and the artichokes weren't cooked well this time around. Service was good Great GV ambience with brick walls, booths, and a bar. Indoor/outdoor seating options

Yelp
Breakfast at the Sycamore on a lazy Thursday morning. They have excellent food choices, but the egg sandwich stands out for me. Plenty of good coffee choices too, and their Cortado is one of the best in the city. Walkup, order, and pay; then they deliver to your table. Beautiful bathrooms thanks for that. No problem with street parking at breakfast and lunch.

Yelp
Oh, why can there not be more than five stars! This place nailed it. The staff was friendly. The prices were extremely reasonable. Ordering was easy. No reservations were needed. The original brick walls were exposed adding character and charm to the European farmhouse feel of the shop. Oh, I will be back-- FOR SURE! We ordered a drip coffee, a buckwheat honey vanilla latte, and two egg sandwiches. The drip came quick. The honey latte somehow didn't hit the baristas screen and I had a tiny wait for it, but the moment it was brought to her attention she prioritized it and it came next... and, wowzers.... Worth the wait! so no complaints on the tiny hiccup. The egg sandwich. Omg it is 7 bucks! A great value compared to the competition. The flavor of every element shines through and is worth mentioning. The egg is light, fluffy, not crumbly so it doesn't flop out of the sandwich. The herbs they use in the egg is perfectly balanced and adds to the flavor vs overtaking the egg. I swear I taste Creme Faiche.(which may be why I love this). The cheddar they used isn't too strong so it doesn't over take the egg. The candied bacon is cooked perfectly. The fresh ciabatta bread is soft and not hard/chewy, so was the perfect choice to serve this sandwich. Definitely, is in the top ten of egg sandwiches I have ordered, ever. A+ Sycamore. There wasn't anything you could have done better. We left happy and full.

Yelp
The food here was so delicious! I got the Sycamore Salad with Salmon and a Burger. The salad had so many different toppings that blended so well together. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was very flaky. The burger was so juicy and flavorful. It was a little pricey for lunch. The salad with salmon was $24. As far as service, you order at the counter and they bring the food to you. There wasn't a waiter that stopped by to ask if you needed anything. The ambiance was so cute and the restaurant was in a great location with plenty of street parking. I went for lunch during the week and it wasn't packed at all.

Yelp
We stopped in this cute little restaurant as a recommendation from a friend. The ambiance is really great. We sat at the bar because we didn't make a reservation. The bartender was attentive and knowledgeable. My friend and I shared the short rib ragu and the ravioli. The short rib ragu far exceeded my expectations. It was so salty, and delicious. It had a lot of shredded short rib-- fat removed and mixed with the creamy pasta with it was great. The combination of the ingredients had me Worried but it was soooo good. The ravioli was fine. It was very lack luster. I wouldn't order again. For a drink I got the Italian 90. It was light and not too sweet. I would definitely return

Yelp
I can't believe this was my first visit to the Sycamore! Vibes were great on a Tuesday for dinner. We made a reservation just in case because it's a small space, but it was not overly busy. The drinks were amazing, we loved our cocktails! The hangar steak was cooked perfectly and the pine nut ravioli was an interesting try. Service was fantastic and we had a great dinner overall. Next time I definitely plan on dining on the patio, with my dog - check out the framed photos in the bathroom!

Yelp
Sycamore is the sort of place you take your family if you want to really impress them. Classy and chic on the inside, their menu is equally impressive; elevated New American fare. The beets and burrata and the black bass were excellent. The daily pie I had ages ago is one I still can't get off my mind. Chocolate peanutbutter that tasted like heaven in pie form. A must try for those with excellent taste and money to blow!

Yelp
I haven't been to Sycamore since before covid until now. I believe they closed for a bit in between and are likely a totally different restaurant now, but the vibes seem the same. I used to have a friend that worked here and I went for happy hour a few times while she was working. This time I decided to do a full dinner and I wasn't disappointed. We ordered the scallops, grilled artichokes, jamon iberico, short rib ragu, pickle salad, and lamb dumplings for food, as well as the sycamore old fashioned and lavender margarita. Our server was Alisa (?) and she was fabulous. Extremely attentive even though we were on the patio, and just the right amount of friendly/removed from the dining process. The patio was very chill and it was a lovely day. We spent sunset here and found parking no problem (during a week night). The ragu could have used a garnish of some sort, but otherwise I was impressed with every dish. The jamon iberico with burrata was served on toasted bread and was delicious but didn't really showcase the jamon iberico. The scallops were cooked and plated beautifully and despite the amount of different dishes we ordered, we paid our check 1 hour after we arrived. Definitely a great date night spot and I'm looking forward to visiting again soon.

Yelp
This place is amazing!! I have only ever tried the egg sandwich but I would never get anything else because it is the most delicious sandwich I have ever had. If I could eat this sandwich every day I would. The service is also incredible! Every employee I've ever interacted with here has been very pleasant, patient, and helpful. Additionally, the inside is super cute which different seating options that are all great! Being located in German village makes this place even cuter especially on the outside, which has a patio! Overall, I highly recommend this place to anyone :)

Yelp
We found this lovely little neighborhood gem while exploring German Village. Looking for someplace to go we decided on Sycamore. There are a few outdoor dining tables, which I recommend if the weather is decent. We ate outside and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of German Village. It almost felt like you were in Ohio. Our service was outstanding and our server friendly. The poutine is a must try! The dish was fabulous and the flavors blended nicely. I got a chicken thigh dish and my boyfriend ordered the burger. Both were mouthwateringly delicious. I loved the cheesy couscous that came with the chicken thighs. It was hard not to eat the entire meal. This is a must place try if you are in the area.

Yelp
Fine dining on a quiet corner in a rustic neighborhood, that highlights historical architecture. The music plays softly in the background ~Otis Redding, Micheal Jackson, Journey. Each table has fresh flowers, and simmering lights. The establishment is clean and well decorated. The menu is well laid out- not overwhelming with choices. The food was delicious, I ate every morsel, it was filled my tummy and warmed my heart . I was definitely, a happy camper. The service was great, the bill is delivered in a notebook ~ small, and you are able to leave the server a special note .

Yelp
I came here by myself for a night out treat and really enjoyed it! I sat at the bar and received full menu service. The bartender was amazing and made me feel at ease especially by myself. The atmosphere otherwise was quite loud and made it a but tough to really enjoy the experience, but honestly it was great otherwise. Regardless, the food was great. The short rib ragu was excellent. The noodles on top hid the short rib, which made it fun to mix it all together to get the full experience. And I finished off my meal with a slice of pecan pie, at the bartender's recommendation. I looked at the menu in advance to get an idea of price, and for a single night out it still ended up being a bit more than I had intended. I do still recommend the Sycamore but for more of a special night out and not so much a casual gathering.

Chris S.

Yelp
Wonderful spot, stopped in on a whim and it lived up to the reviews! Great welcoming service and after a perfect Sycamore Old fashion, the meal recommendations were perfect! Sticky Carrots and the short rib ragu were excellent! Great ambiance and food with friendly people, can't miss!

Yelp
The cutest little restaurant. We went on a Monday with no reservation so we did have to wait almost an hour before snagging seats at the bar which was fine with us! Bartender made me an margarita with aperol in it and my friend got a glass of cab while we waited. Will definitely return to this restaurant, staff are great! Bartender amazing. But unfortunately not all our food was amazing. Focaccia bread - really good! Would order again Clam chowder - has actual clams in the shell in it. I love clam chowder and will always order it if it's on the menu but I didn't love this one. The actual soup part was really thick, almost more like a thick sauce than a soup? And it was mostly potatoes? Would not order again Artichokes - they were great Broccolini - tasted really weird. Not really sure how to explain it, maybe it was the mix of all the flavors in that dish? I don't know. Would not order again Fries - loved - perfect Banana "crumb" brûlée - the weirdest dessert. It was like a thick, gross banana purée with the typical brûlée sugar top... we did not like. Would not order again. Was really excited for this one too. Woulda been better if it was more like a regular creme brûlée like a banana pudding? Despite not loving everything, we want to go back. :)

Yelp
The food, ambiance, and cocktails are awesome. It is definitely a pricier spot but I'd say it's worth it if you can swing it! It seems they put a lot of love into their culinary craft. LOVE the lavender marg. Charcuterie and steak frites have always made my tums happy. Service is polite. Having a reservation is preferred.

Tarik Z.

Yelp
Absolutely our new favorite restaurant for any cute date night. Everything we ordered was unbelievable, and may just be the best food we've had in a long time. The service was fantastic as well, our starter bread and appetizer came out ever so slightly slow, so the server gave us the app and desert on the house with no prompting. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
What a gem of a place in German Village! It was an easy walk from our AirBnB for a Friday evening dinner. They have a fun cocktail menu and an affordable yet interesting wine list, so we had drinks from both! The place is modern yet rustic with a great vibe. The food was delicious and I definitely ate way too much but I couldn't stop. We split the jamon (which was served ala bruschetta) and the broccolini, both of which were delicious. For dinner, we had the trout (delicious) and chicken thighs (also delicious but a bit rich). After all this food, you won't need dessert, but you may choose to indulge anyways. A great night!

Yelp
Hm. We went for a special occasion. I have to say I was disappointed. There must have been something devastating with the staff, kitchen and bar this night. We've been before and loved it. This time: Nope! We ordered 3 different wines, they were out of 2 of the 3. The lamb ragu x2 was cold. Sat for a long time. Don't know if it was staff or kitchen. We sent one back because it was a congealed mess. Horrible. replacement came out in 5 mins tho. We waited a LONG time for food. Hangar steaks were tasty as usual, the only thing they nailed. Salads had a whiff of dressing, needed a lot more, could not find waiter. More drinks? Couldn't find the waiter. Again with the waiting. Place was full, but the bar was almost empty and there were a couple tables open/ or changing out. So IMO, it was a bar/server issue for this. I'll give you one more chance, maybe. Lots of tasty places to try in this city. You missed it on our visit this time with out of town guests Sycamore.

Yelp
As a vegetarian, I was looking forward to eating here. However the food was not up to the standards I expected. Everything else was just okay. The whipped feta had no taste to it on its own, was not actually whipped, and the garlic naan was so burned so it was the only thing you could taste. I was digging for flavor but couldn't find anything even when I had the feta with honey and pistachio. The bowl it's served in also makes it incredibly hard to eat out of and limits the surface area or the honey/pistachios. The Brussel sprouts were just okay nothing special could use a crunch factor like a nut because I had to do a vegetarian version without the bacon. The ravioli was such a small portion size with 5 pieces. The ravioli had barely any filling for its size. You couldn't really taste the greens or sun dried tomato. Disappointing especially for the price range it was in ($26) and I don't know if that was because of the ingredients used or not. If it was a larger portion, then I think I would be able to recommend it as a meal to someone who is vegetarian. My partner ordered the clam chowder and enjoyed it WAY more than their main course (burger). The chowder looked exciting and different from what I usually see. They said their burger was also very burnt/charred and didn't end up finishing it because it left such a bad taste in their mouth. Overall the menu items sounded better than what I experienced. I am glad I tried it because it was date night, and the atmosphere was exactly what we needed: small, cozy, private. I will have to come back to try their breakfast to give it another shot.

Yelp
I just love the Sycamore. I think this place is one of the best kept little secrets in the German Village. I lived in the Village for 2 years and would come here frequently then; I've since moved to another part of the city, but I will still drive down to the Village to go here. It's just that good. Wanted to start out by saying - I would take any reviews that are more than a couple years old with a grain of salt, because the Sycamore was fully remodeled a couple years ago, and I believe it might(?) be under new management as well since the remodel. I've only been here since it was remodeled, so I never tried the "old" restaurant. Most recent reviews are all really positive. First of all, the ambiance, omg. I want to live here. Everything about it is just so cozy and perfect, with all the exposed brick and pretty wooden details. I just love the style. The menu is small but really well-rounded, so you'll definitely find something you like here. All of the cocktails are incredible, you really can't go wrong. I've had lots of different food here, including a few different salads and some entrees, and I've loved everything I've had. Definitely get the focaccia bread as an appetizer, it's insane. And now for the best part...there's a COFFEE WINDOW. It's so freaking adorable. Sometimes I would take a walk to Sycamore in the mornings before the actual restaurant opened, and their coffee window would be open. You can order a specialty coffee drink from the barista and have it handed to you through the little window. Can it get any cuter. Anyway, seriously love this place and I think it's such a hidden gem in Columbus. I feel such cozy vibes whenever I'm here. The waiters are all really nice too. I'll be back soon!

Yelp
Excellent seasonal crab cakes, wonderful service from their team and a delightful location in the heart of German Village. Always a good idea to book a reservation if you can. Don't miss this charming spot in Columbus.

Yelp
beautiful spot for a nice dinner! the ambiance is refined without being snobby; clean, comfy interior with low lighting is perfect for an intimate dinner. service is so nice and recommended great drinks and dishes based on our preferences. i can't remember all we got but the focaccia was a crowd pleaser and my chicken entree was perfect. i would love to visit again!

Yelp
We had an early dinner this evening, very nice interior..My daughter couldnt eat her dinner, way too salty..My pork loin was overcooked & the mashed potatoes were too salty, Main issue was the service, our waiter was training someone, which was not a problem-but he could use some training himself-He did not remove our bread plates before our dinner was served. I asked him for a steak knife when he served my pork loin--he told me the meats so tender I dont need one....just use my existing silverware...well, my pork loin was not tender-it was over cooked. We won't go back--food was over salted & mediocre. Unimpressed.

Yelp
Let me start by saying that I really wanted to give this place 5 stars, but I could not overlook some glaring issues both in service and the plates that needed to be addressed. After I came here in August for my birthday and had a GREAT experience, this feeling I was left with Saturday evening was less than desirable. We had reservations for 5 as that was the only time they had open, so I'm led to believe it's going to be busy, which it in fact was. That would also lead me to believe they had been appropriately staffed and prepped for such a busy weekend night, which they were not. There was one bartender for the entire restaurant, and while a second round of drinks wass comped for the delay it took to get them, 25-30 minutes, I felt badly that she was flying solo. The bigger issue I took from the bar was the fact they were out of the house made gin which is used for at least one 3 of their drinks, two of which I was set to order only to find it from our server they were "unable to prepare any" the previous night. If it is house made and a staple for a few of your cocktails, I feel someone should have made this either the night before, or the morning of. Again, it was 5pm on a Saturday with the whole evening ahead. The food was mostly fine, not as good as I've had from them previously, but different seasons, different menus, I get it. What I cannot condone is the fact that the mussels dish was in NO WAY indicated to be made with an arrabiatta sauce and was very spicy. For me the spice is no issue, but my friend who ordered it doesn't handle spice well and was flushed after one bite with the heat being nearly overwhelming. This is the kind of thing you need to let your patrons know. Our server was pretty good despite a mix up in the checks which was quickly rectified, and he was good to let us know of the wait from the bar and the comping of the second round. I'll give this place one more shot as they're one for two right now, but my expectations will be tempered after this. Also, is a fairly small restaurant and it gets pretty loud after 6 when it's at capacity, not uncomfortable, just happy sounds and libations flowing.

Yelp
The food was fantastic! High quality ingredients, lots of vegetables, so delicious. Also had a superb latte. The decor is super cute blend of clean modern and authentic vintage. And I like the service system of ordering at the bar. Means wait staff isn't bugging you, keeps things moving, and easy to split checks.

Yelp
Loved the revamp at Sycamore but not so much the prices but we've still stopped by for a quick lunch break and for dinner services in the same week. For lunch, we tried The 6th Streeter Sandwich, The Sycamore Burger, and 2x Chocolate Chip Cookie. Everything was so good, even as takeouts. For dinner, we tried the Burrata & Heirloom Tomato, the Mussels, the Hanger Steak, 2x Semester Abroad, a Miller Lite, and a Sycamore Old Fashioned. And we loved their Chocolate Chip Cookie so much, we put 2 on hold before even ordering any of our foods or drinks (good thing too because we apparently snagged the last 2 for the night!). Of everything we tried, the Hanger Steak was the crowd pleaser. The chocolate chip cookie is truly fire but it's also $5 but it's also the size of my face so 100/10 would come back ;b

Yelp
This place rocks. Located in charming German Village, their service and dedication to craft food and yumminess is outstanding. The Sycamore Village salad (with added chicken) was delicious and fresh. My husband had the Cuban, which was excellent and sizeable, and came with delectable fries. It's a little place, with high ceilings, so it can be a little loud, but that can be said for almost any restaurant these days, and we avoid chains as a rule. We will definitely go back, and you should give it a try, too. Breakfast?

Stacy C.

Yelp
This place is OK. Nice ambience, bar was full where we wanted to sit. It's hard to judge how the food is since we only had one appetizer but it was delicious. The one thing that was exceptional was Derek our server he was a very young, very polite man. Derek's a rockstar. If you come here, you should ask for him.

Yelp
Loved this place. Came here around lunch time. The inside is super cute, cool bar area. Everything we got was super good and really cool lattes on the menu.

Yelp
My experience at Sycamore was AWKWARD and DISAPPOINTING. First off one person in our party had diet restrictions and the waiter was not accommodating stating "food is pre made" (pre-made? - a simple no cooking required appetizer? )... Additionally we could tell and even commented with one another that the waiter was 100% rushing us with ordering (stopped by every few minutes asking if we were ready to order when he could clearly see we weren't and were enjoying our glasses of wine and conversing)... fine dining is different than eating at Wendy's I like to take my time and not be rush (Especially when I am spending a few hundred dollars at dinner) So here is the climax to my review. When I closed my tab and I left what I thought was a fair tip based on my above experience the waiter ran me down and started complaining to me. Any restaurant waiter/waitress who runs down a customer and brings this up is so out of line. For specifics I gave a decent tip based on my experience at this establishment (10% NOT 0%). There is a first for everything but I am really blown away and feel DISRESPECTED that I was ran down like I did not PAY MY FEW HUNDRED DOLLAR TAB. Not to mention the people in my party witnessing this. A Cameron Mitchell restaurant would never tolerate a waiter doing this and for the above reason I will not be back to Sycamore.

Yelp
I've lived in this area for nearly 9yrs now. This place was a favorite. Every friend that visited from out of town, I would take them here. I loved the ambience. The food, the drinks, the staff. It was great. You couldn't go wrong. We haven't been since 2020 until recently. Boy was I surprised when we entered. Turns out they are under new ownership and a new interior! It feels like the Interior of a boat. Not that I have a yacht. I didn't like it. They put in new modern booths that felt like IKEA. Definitely not the comfy, cozy type they used to have. The place lost its aesthetic charm that it used to have. I'm a big disappointed here. It was the neighborhood bar. The servers now wear aprons? That's weird. We were only there for the drinks. They were known for good and different drinks... they were still really good. Looked like they kept some of the old ones and added more. Sorry I can't review the food, we didn't have any. Don't know if we'll go back anymore, we'll see. I can't rate it accurately high because we didn't eat here, just drinks. Not sure if this review helps anyone, just another new restaurant it felt like. Nothing special. I hate giving reviews like this. If we do go back to eat, I will update.

Yelp
This is a review of the new sycamore restaurant which just opened to the public yesterday. We had such high hopes for the new restaurant and unfortunately was disappointed on many fronts. I think in a couple of months once they work out some of the inconsistencies it will be worth another visit. We arrived at 4:30 and was pleased to see that they are offering a happy hour menu for discounted drinks and appetizers from 4:00- 7:00. Ordered the sycamore old fashion which was the highlight of the entire evening. The head on shrimp and artichokes were average at best. Zero flavor from the artichoke. There were some grill marks on them but eating the artichokes one could not tell they were grilled. Also there was a total lack of seasoning let alone salt or pepper. The other disappointment was that the artichokes are served at room temp even though they were 'grilled'. I mean who wants a room temp artichoke? The head on shrimp were drenched in a liquified butter. I do mean drenched. Although the flavors were good, I could tell the shrimp were not fresh. I'm guessing frozen/thawed shrimp which unfortunately were mooshy. For entrees we had the vegetable tagine which had a slight Middle East flavor profile but heavy on potatoes and carrots. While the menu indicated cauliflower it was barely noticeable. I'm guessing potatoes and carrots are less expensive than cauliflower. We also had the chicken thighs over couscous. The couscous was the highlight of the dish. The chicken was totally bland and flavorless. We also ordered the lobster roll which the menu advertised as double buttered. One would think the roll would be toasted and buttered. It did have the "obligatory" grill marks but zero indication of buttered and toasted. Let alone double buttered as indicated on the menu. My biggest complaint is with the chef who did not taste her food before serving it. Zero salt, pepper or seasoning. Service was average and that is just because of the newness. Our check totaled $150 for three entrees, 4 mixed drinks and 2 appetizers. For that kind of money I expect better and so should you.

Yelp
This place is such a gem. Let me start with what we loved. Usually when I see chicken thighs on a menu, I roll my eyes and think how good can it be? It's so Ohio. Well, I was wrong. My husband had the foresight to order this dish and it was so decadent with every perfect tender bite. Match this with creamy couscous, cream cheese, dates, and asparagus. Exceptional. I ordered the mussels and good lord, I don't know what's in that sauce that feels like there's eggplant with a tomato base and a kick. Dish out a mussel, throw on the crisp bread with this incredible sauce and you have bruschetta. Delightful. Now the clam chowder. I almost couldn't find the soup it was loaded with clams. Really tasty. It did need a touch of hot sauce but it was solid. I am just in awe of those fresh clams. Now to the missteps. The grilled artichokes were so undercooked that we had to fight to get these leaves off the choke. It was a battle. Delicious dipping sauce but if not cooked perfectly, I'd knock this off the menu. Cocktails decent not great. Wine selection a bit too Spanish-heavy and I'd like to see a better selection of Cabernet Sauvignons which I didn't see one option on the menu. We will definitely be back. The positives far outweigh the negatives but I thought I'd share my two cents.

Yelp
Yup, 3 stars. Nothing bad but nothing great either. In town to celebrate my daughters birthday and she picked it. It's a nice little restaurant typical of German village. There was outside seating but a little chilly in the fall. There was one large table, some booths, and tables for two. Large bar dominates the right side. The staff was very friendly and we were seated 30 minutes earlier than our reservation. Our waiter was good and our drinks, apps, and entrees were served without delay. We started out with some cocktails and a couple appetizers, the charcuterie and some fried stuffed cheese thing. The stuffed cheese thing was the highlight of the dinner. I'd look it up but Sycamores website only has their breakfast and lunch menu. Their small plates and entrees are seasonal and seem to change often, which can be good but in this case it's not. I can't categorize their menu, they are really all over the map. I ordered the branzino, very bland, some salt would have been nice, but it was strictly heart healthy. My daughter got the Cuban sandwich, her boyfriend got the brisket and my wife got the steak frites. All, save for the boyfriend, were disappointed in their selections. I tasted my wife's dish and it was the worse attempt at this popular Belgian dish. The steak was marinated, and that's never good. Please please, never marinate a steak. Sycamore, uninspired dining.

Yelp
Great dining experience and loved the rustic decor. Food was great! The focaccia bread was soft and melted in my mouth. The broth in the curry mussels was extremely rich - almost wish there was more bread or some pasta to take more of it. The entrees were all each special as well. Service was amazing as well and prompt.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this place for quite some time and figured I finally needed to check it out for myself. It's cute and tucked into the neighborhood, but tastefully stands out! We got several appetizers and each got an entree. The drinks were also AMAZING! Featured: Chicken Thighs, Black Bass, Housemade Focaccia, Suppli al Telefono, Devils in Crowns, Italian 90 cocktail, The Sycamore Old Fashioned cocktail This place has great food and excellent service! While a little on the pricier side, you're getting an excellent experience and I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Loved this lovely German Village neighborhood gem. Started out with a table out on the patio and a couple of lavender margaritas. Grilled Artichoke starter then hanger steak, medium rare with fries. SO GOOD and we were fortunate we snagged a table on the same day we wanted dinner on a whim. We went a little early at 5 pm though so worth it. Came home and took at 2.5 mile brisk walk around the neighborhood! Staff was kind. Food was delish. Experience was awesome. Would totally go back! Such a lovely establishment!!

Yelp
The best food with the best vibes! The service was amazing. It was very cozy and the food came out quickly. We ordered the BLT sandwiches with the Sycamore salad.

Yelp
Went here for the first time the other night and sat at the bar. Loved this spot. This place is such a unique neighborhood spot in German Village that feels like a hidden gem. Great vibes and delicious food and drinks. Bartender was super kind and attentive! Definitely recommend this spot!

Yelp
I have been at Sycamore twice. The first time service was a 5, the second time it was a 2 so I guess is a hit and miss situation for the service which is unfortunate and truly not sure of why service would be bad as this is a small restaurant and they were packed and did have enough servers yet our server would leave and won't come back for a long period of time, we would run of drinks waiting. Other than that, the food is delicious and so are the drinks , the ambiance is also good and the restaurant is nice looking. Worth a try and hope service is better so a 3 due to service because who wants to wait forever for attention to order what you want?

Yelp
The bartender, i believe his name is Michael, visibly made several female employees uncomfortable as well as making sexual comments to them that me and my husband overheard. we will not be visiting this restaurant again and we cannot recommend it. the food was mediocre and overpriced for what it is. Overall an unpleasant experience.

Yelp
This place was perfect for our dinner out in the German village. It was so cozy and the staff was very welcoming. Everything we ate and drank was delicious! Couldn't recommend more. We had the streak frites, burger, buckeye pie and vanilla lattes.
