2/20/26-2/21/26 (Originally booked through 2/23) Room: West Meadow King Suite #703 (~$600/night avg) We were really looking forward to this trip since it was a bday gift for my wife, but honestly it didn't live up to the price. Bed, hard as a rock and very loud. TVs, not smart only have cable, couch, very noisy but comfortable.The hot tub was nice, but not very private. You can see other guests entry doors when standing. We had our dogs with us, and that was a bit inconvenient too. At night, the only grass area is across the bridge. The dog run doesn't have grass and isn't lit. I went to the front desk and explained we weren't happy and asked about canceling the rest of the stay. Ismael was nice and professional, but he didn't really have options. The best he could do was cancel the third night and charge us half the day rate ($300). So basically, either stay uncomfortable or leave and eat the fee. I also reached out to the front desk manager, Hitesh, because I don't think cancellation fees should be what keeps someone there if they're unhappy. He stuck with the policy and offered an upgrade on a future visit instead. Overall, just disappointing--especially at $600 a night and since this was supposed to be a special gift. Maybe others have better experiences, but this was ours. Just something to keep in mind before booking.

My husband and I have come for many years to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we love it so much we’re sometimes coming back a second time during the year. We find the staff are all very courteous and professional, the room is always exceptionally clean, the hot pools are divine. The restaurant has wonderful food and good service.It’s so peaceful. If you’re lucky, you can see the turkeys going through the property. And there’s great hikes and walks right out of the property. Love it here. Always hard to leave.

My son and daughter-in-law bought us a hot tub experience for Christmas. We didn't stay at the hotel this time but we've enjoyed it in the past. The woman at the desk was friendly and accommodating. We were given a box of chocolate truffles and sparking wine. We spent about an hour just relaxing in the Rendezvous tub. It was quite a climb up the stairs but was with the effort. The grounds are clean and beautiful. We've driven by there a "million" times and are happy we finally went.

I wouldn’t recommend or stay here again. The environment and overall experience (minimally with staff so can’t speak to that except the golf cart service was a plus since my room wasn’t close to the parking lot and up a steep hill) felt cold and not very relaxing/spa like. The mineral pool was nothing to write home about. I didn’t partake in the spa services so can’t speak to that either. Overall, definitively not worth the price. Nothing was really that special except my room had a nicer private hot tub but some don’t look as nice. That was about the only thing I liked about my stay. And the sound machine provided.

Service is outstanding. Everybody tries their best to be as accommodating and customer service focused as possible and you can really feel it in the staff here. The only reason location got four stars is because it's not actually on the beach. Overall the location is fantastic though. The room is tiny and there was no microwave. But all we have to do is request a microwave and they brought it to our room. The hot tub is nice, however, the back area is teeny tiny and you're basically staring at a a mountain of rocks the whole time too, which isn't terrible, it just gets old after a while. The food at the restaurant is ok, The halibut had zero flavor and the steak was just okay but- The cinnamon roll French toast the next morning was fabulous!!!!

I have visited this resort as an overnight guest and I have also stopped by a few times just to use the mineral spring hot tubs for an hour. They're rented at reasonable rates, have lovely views of the oaks and the hillside and are very private. Different size tubs are available for different size groups. It has become an essential stop every time we drive north. The hotel rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. We felt the pricing was fair for all that was offered. Having a private hot tub on the porch was amazing. The hotel maintains quiet hours, but after that point overnight guests can freely use the hot tubs that are available to rent on the hillside. There are nice trails to walk, a gift shop with great local items, spa services and lots of other amenities. Parking is easy. Getting there is easy. The proximity to SLO, Morro Bay, etc. makes it a nice home base for visiting the central coast. We really enjoyed nearby Avila Beach. It's really nice to spend a day exploring and come home a wonderful, hot mineral soak.

Went there to use the couples hot tubs. We didn't have a reservation so there was a bit of a wait. We decided to stick around just in case and actually were able to get in early! Staffwas so friendly. While we were waiting, we took time to look around the shop. It is full of very unique items. There are some one of a kind things there. Hot tubs were clean. Overall wonderful experience! Left feeling relaxed and rejuvenated.

I had an incredible experience @ Sycamore Mineral Springs. The social media & website do not do the resort justice. It is truly beautiful. It was very safe and calming. Lots to do. The restaurant was top notch! Easy check in process. Very private rooms, that were very fancy at a great value. Highly recommend! Hiking trail to the beach. I also got to swim in the pool all on my own. Just beautiful landscaping everywhere!

Visiting Sycamore Hill Side Hot Tubs is always a treat and provides a much-needed relaxing spot. Whether you're solo or with family, you can book hot tubs that accommodate your party size perfectly. They do charge per person, and it's slightly cheaper during the week, which is a nice bonus. The hot tubs are all private, offering seclusion and often stunning views of nature. The property is consistently clean, and the friendly staff adds to the overall positive experience. Food and drinks are also available for purchase, making it convenient to enjoy your time without needing to leave the resort. Overall, it's a great experience with a wonderful ambiance. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some tranquility.

Late check-in again for the 3rd time. Stayed at the guesthouse again (2nd time this year) Previous stay was Dec 23. Guarantee check-in is 4 pm Don't bother talking to the manager she will reassure you again the next time you arrive the room will be ready. This was the 3rd time in a row. They didn't know this was the 3rd time. Guesthouse is their top tier room. We have been a loyal client for the past 15 years. Definitely not coming back again. Don't forget your towel! Really bummed to even write this review. We have been going to Sycamore Mineral Springs for years to use the spa and the hot tubs. I understand how things are getting more expensive, but you can't lower the quality while dramatically raising the prices. First of the prices for the tubs are far higher than the website and even the literature they even have on-hand at check-in. If you want to raise your prices that needs to be accurately reflected on your literature and your website. They do offer a cash discount, but still.... Next there is now a $10 towel rental! That's pretty outrageous. The towels aren't large or even new/nice. For $10 you could buy a brand new towel. Again with the cash discount its down to $5. Several of the stairs on the way up to the tub were wobbly and rotten. The wood around the tub was severely rotten and one of the steel support rings around the tub had completely failed and another looked like it was about to fail. I really hope that management can turn this place around.

This place is ! So relaxing and zen! Perfect for rejuvenation! Everything you need is in this room, like a chill zen oasis.

My wife hits up this place every year or two for her girls weekends while my buddies and I take an annual boys trip to Bermuda Dunes. I joined her here this weekend after our recent overseas vacation was cancelled due to a passport issue. Anyway, she loves this dear place and I was happy to come back here, as well. They have some construction going on at the main lodge so we're given a complimentary upgrade to the cabins across the bridge. It makes for a longer walk to and from the main section but we didn't mind and they also have golf carts going back and forth every few minutes and on demand. The staff is super professional and quite kind. Their spa and pre-massage private hot tubs are legendary. The massage therapists are the best, but they only do 60 minute sessions instead of my preferred 90-min. We did a fabulous yoga session in their dome style yurt. Most rooms have a deck and hot tub and we must have had eight different soaks during our two night stay. We never tried the restaurant but I hear it's quite good if not a bit pricey. We did have one of their artisan pizzas in their secret garden and it was excellent. The room was quite large with big screen TVs, fireplace, lovely bathroom, coffee maker, wine fridge, comfy robes and the works. From a price point perspective, it's far cheap than the Palm Springs or Napa area spas during high season. Great area for wine tasting and the food choices in Pismo are far superior the beach area of Avila. We had a simply lovely time.

This was our fourth visit to Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa, a place filled with cherished memories since our first stay twelve years ago when our daughter was young. Even as our children have grown and moved out, we returned seeking those nostalgic moments. We booked the Hillside King Suite for $1249.26 for two nights, featuring a separate living room and bedroom. The suite's patio offered views of oak trees that complemented the property's hillsides, along with our own private mineral spring hot tub. Our package included vouchers for a yoga class for two, a hillside hot tub session for two, and a breakfast or lunch entrée for two, which we used for a delightful breakfast at The Gardens of Avila restaurant inside the resort. What I love about Sycamore is its natural beauty and greenery. The aroma of plants fills the air as you relax in your private patio hot tub. Though our suite was on the second floor and lacked AC (relying on a ceiling fan), the coastal proximity kept the room comfortably cool. We spent most of our days in the stunning garden, surrounded by vibrant trees, leaves, and flowers. Walking through or simply sitting amidst this natural oasis was incredibly rejuvenating. The resort's swimming pool was excellent, though it's advisable to bring your own towel from the room to avoid a $3 charge per towel, which was a minor inconvenience. One highlight was hiking to the hilltop to witness the sunrise, an experience not to be missed. The spa was another highlight; before our massages or facials, we enjoyed a complimentary hillside hot tub soak. My 45-minute Swedish massage ($175) was incredibly relaxing and enjoyable. For anyone seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and a peaceful retreat into nature's oasis, Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort & Spa is the perfect getaway.

It is very expensive to rent rooms from here now, going on about $350 a night, so we choose to only rent a tub for 2 for one hour. On a separate occasion we chose the sweetheart special, and the dude just gave us the presecco and a little box of truffles, and only two oils. To charge double the price ($130) for an hour experience wasn't worth it to us. The hot tub for 2 people is about $50-60, and it's very relaxing and private so we fully enjoyed it.

Too much chlorine in tubs so I go to avila instead. Also better prices. Or I go to Franklin hot springs, both no chlorine. It is soo drying to the skin and smells even worse. My eyes burn.

Always a great experience. Can never go wrong. Even if it's just being alone to get your mind right and have self care or having a party. Heck even a date night it's worth it and the price. Don't forget to bring a speaker and ask for a high uo spot so you don't have neighbors

As far as the room is concerned, the mythical queen suite (dog friendly) was enjoyable. There was ample space, the bathroom was efficient and the separate living space away from the bedroom was appreciated. The upgraded hot tub on the patio was also a nice touch, with the jets, color changing lights and extra space (compared to other rooms). Everything good about our visit stood there, Unfortunately, there were some shortcomings. First, the tv's are not user friendly. We first tried using the tv in the living area and realized it's quite difficult to navigate and I'm sure they already know this. Upon trying to use the tv in the bedroom, we realized this situation was even worst as it required to change cords in the back of the tv every time you try to use it. Not convenient at all when it takes ten minutes of set up time every time you turn the tv on. Pretty unacceptable for a $450+/night room. Even more importantly, they goofed on charging me upon our check-in. I supplied a card for the reservation which should have never been changed at all. They were supplied with a different card upon arrival to use for the difference (twenty something dollars), since I had a $450 gift card. I was also told there would be a $100 authorization on that card for incidentals. No problem with me if I was charged accordingly. Instead, they took my $450 gift card, charged the card supplied for the difference for the $100 authorization for incidentals and then also charged the $470 to the card that I reserved the room with. When I brought this to their attention the next morning they validated that they made a mistake and saw that on their end as well. Unfortunately, the manager wasn't going to be in until later that morning and I was told they couldn't reverse the charge until she got in. I didn't have a problem with that but just stressed that it needed to be taken care of ASAP. I asked for them to take care of it and to have the manager call me to acknowledge that things have been taken care of and asked if they could also supply me with some sort of confirmation number for the refund. I was told this would not be an issue. This was at 7:15am. 2pm comes around and I had still not heard anything from their manager or anyone else from the resort. I had received a text message regarding my check out, which had also asked about my experience. I took the opportunity to express my concern about how I hadn't heard anything about virtually being charged twice for the room and they went ahead and told me in text that everything had been taken care of on their end. I expressed my concern that I had requested to be contacted by management. All of sudden, no more texts after that. I was eventually refunded the $450 ten days later. Shit customer service is enough for me to say no thank you for any potential visits.

We don't come too often but when we do it's always for the hot tubs and it has always been a great experience. The girls at the front desk are always so sweet.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE - If you experience an issue, be prepared for front desk and the gift shop (where you reserve services) people who can't do squat for you. Lots of, "No, sooooorry, caaaaaaaaan't do that" responses. It felt like they had been coached on how to tell guests to f off in the most efficient way. One approach they seem to have mastered is offering the "upgrade" for $50 per night to a nicer room but in a very inconvenient location. Hey, they tried to help, right? I wasn't demanding only 5-star service...I would have been okay with 4-star maybe even 3-star service, but having 1 and 2 star service was ridiculous for a resort. FOOD - So good! The Garden restaurant food was really good (we had breakfast and dinner). Our server, Massie, was about the only employee who seemed to meet the "resort standard" customer service we're used to. ROOM LOCATION - We really hated the steep walk up the asphalt to our room from the main areas of the resorts. We had to walk this hill a handful of times each day. Also, we were assigned a room with another room's balcony hot tub right under our window. As you can imagine...all chatting and music noise coming from their balcony came up to our room via our window, even with it closed. Why would they design rooms with an arrangement like this? ROOM ITSELF - The bed was very comfortable. We liked the faux fireplace in the wall. The décor was okay...perhaps a little dated. Our fridge was making a clicking sound on and off. We didn't mention this to the front desk because we didn't want to deal with the front desk again. HOT TUBS - The hot tub on our patio was fine, we enjoyed it. As part of a "book 2 nights" promotion, we were given coupons to experience the hilltop hot tubs. What a joke. I have attached a picture posted on the wall of the gift shop which you think would depict to a degree what their hot tub areas would look like. Nope - not even a little bit. Their hot tubs do not have low, open lattice walls, making you feel like you are part of the forest. They have four 6-foot walls surrounding the tiny hot tubs. It feels like you are in a closet. Ewwwww. What the heck? Why would anyone want this experience. Sooooo sooooo disappointing. For $500 per night, this resort is definitely not worth it. It's really nothing special and definitely too many frustrations.

We stayed here 15 years ago and loved it, had a 2 story suite with a hot tub in the woods up the hill, huge bedroom and bathroom. Loved it and booked it again this visit. I received a call from the resort 2 days before arriving saying they wanted to offer us an'upgrade'. They finally admitted the booked suite needed maintenance and told us the new suite had a wonderful outdoor hot tub with a view of the woods plus 2 rooms with 3/4 baths (step into a bathtub for your shower). There's a common living space between the rooms with a small kitchen. Turns out the hottub is on the covered back porch with a view of the woods in the tiny bowl of hills where this suite is and is nothing special. Smallish bathrooms and bedrooms but there is a nice common area with a small kitchen on the side. It's a decent suite for a family but a disappointment to us, not what we wanted. But we still had to pay a high price with no perks for moving rooms. We weren't even allowed a late check out so we left saying we won't return. We're already making plans to stay elsewhere the next time we come to the area.

This place is disgusting. The tubs may appear clean to the eye but they are full of bacteria. I came down with a horrible rash after soaking here and was blown away at the response from the staff when I called a few days later and brought it to their attention. They were unwilling to do anything. I simply asked for a refund for my 1 hr soak and for them to check the water quality in their tubs. They were rude and unprofessional. DO NOT SOAK HERE THE WATER IS FULL OF BACTERIA

3 things stood out that will not want to make me come back 1. Services are SLOW, took me 30 min to check in with only one person in front of me. Room services forgot to put in my order and I had to wait 1 hour before them telling me that. 2. Parking is nightmare here, they have "hill side hot tubs" for people who does not stay here and when it gets busy there will be no parking for anybody. 3. It is LOUD here, this place located right next to a road and you hear cars passing by all night. You can also hear babies cry, dogs barking (some rooms are dog friendly) all night. They have trash cars coming in at 5AM etc. Don't expect to get a good night's sleep here Some other minors things are those private hot tub in your room, water only gets mild warm and since its outside and during cold days water becomes cold pretty quick.

Wonderful massages, and a good soak in the hot tub. Massage therapists were excellent, other staffers uniformly pleasant. BUT - turns out that some sort of surge pricing is in effect over the holidays. I booked two massages over the phone in late November and no mention was made that prices would be higher than normal. Again, no mention in the voicemail I received confirming our massages, and no mention when we checked in. It was only after we checked out, when I found that one of our 2 identical de-stress massages had been billed at a higher rate, that I was told of the jump in fees over the holidays. So instead of a $20 refund, I was told that actually I had been lucky and was under-charged for one of the massages. So - thanks? Just feels like an unwelcome money-grub, and undermines the "de-stressing" that we'd paid for.

I wish I would have read reviews before going to this place. My husband and I wanted to go somewhere local for our anniversary and thought it would be nice to soak in the mineral tub. We got there and checked in 15 minutes early, as they asked. We purchased 2 oils for the water and the lady said they worked for 30 minutes each. So we would have enough for the hour. They smelled for about 4 minutes each. Total waste of $5. The chlorine was so strong that it was burning my eyes and affecting my sense of smell and taste. I don't know what the temperature of the water was, but we could only be in and out of the water because it was too hot. So we didn't get to enjoy it like we should have been able to. They asked us to be back down to check out at the end time that we reserved the tub. So you don't get the full hour. Especially when they put us at the highest tub they have, so it takes longer to walk down. She also said that it was totally private, which it was not. The whole back area is open and we could see people going up the stairs and other tub areas. The gap around the rest was also wide enough to see out. Oh, the tub was also super small! The staff was also not that friendly. I definitely would not recommend going here. We were thinking next time we may just get a room where we can control the temperature of the water and maybe it would just be mineral water and no chlorine but from what I read on the reviews, it is also terrible and for the price I definitely won't be doing that.

Terrible Experience - Not Worth the Money I rarely write reviews, but my recent stay at Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort and Spa in San Luis Obispo was so disappointing that I feel compelled to warn others. I traveled with two of my best friends, and we were excited for a relaxing getaway, especially considering the high price we paid. Unfortunately, this stay was far from what we expected. The pictures online are completely misleading. The room we were given looked more like a run-down motel than the luxurious retreat advertised. The carpet was dirty and stained, and the entire room was covered in dust--so much so that when I picked up one of the provided glasses, it had dust caked on the rim. The thin walls made it impossible to relax, as we could hear every noise from the surrounding rooms. We shared our concerns with the manager, and while she did offer a tiny refund, it was nowhere near what we felt was fair for the poor experience. It felt dismissive and added to our frustration. I've never been so let down by a hotel stay. If you're considering this place, I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. I've attached pictures to this review to show the condition of the room so others can make an informed decision. Save your money and your time--this place is not worth it.

Sad to see negative reviews about this place when we loved it so much we extended our trip for an extra day. We have been coming here for years and everybody at this resort is always extremely kind, helpful and friendly. We brought our lab and she loved every second. Room was spacious, bed was so comfortable and you cant beat having a tub on your porch. They state clearly on the website if you're bringing a dog/pet they do charge a fee which is no problem considering they gave our dog a free meal, a bed, a bowl and a toy. Thank you Sycamore, we cant wait to come back!

This was a super relaxing vacation spot. The balcony jacuzzi was a huge hit. The fireplace in unit was a pleasant surprise. There are two beverage fridges in the unit. We used one for fruits and other food. I would have loved a microwave or something but the place was amazing.

I wasn't gonna say anything until I saw the other victims of this disgusting place. I got a super bad rash and now I'm on medication because of it! Don't recommend.super dirty

We stayed here for a work event through the weekend. Had an absolute blast & the staff was all really friendly! We had James (our trolly driver) a few times going back and forth between our room and the main lobby and he was always helpful with our bags and nice to talk with while he's driving you to your destination :)

Such a great little gem of a place. Use to go as a kid in the 70s. Revisited recently for a great soak in the hot mineral springs. Making friends with Colorado travellers last time. Beautiful pool and places to sit, enjoy the sun or a little picnic.

Stopped here for breakfast on Sunday morning right at 8am when they opened. We were seated right away with menus and coffee. Their breakfast menu is pretty awesome. We had Eggs Benedict, Chilaquiles and Chicken and Waffles. Decided not to post the pictures because we were enjoying the food so much everything was half eaten by the time we remembered. Our waitress, Becky was so much fun! By the time our breakfast was over we felt like we had a new best friend. We will definitely be coming back here to try lunch and dinner.

Love this place! We have been coming here for years and still enjoy it every time we come. When ever we have company it's great bringing them to the Oasis!

Pros: Overall -- Beautiful grounds, clean suites, and friendly staff! The food at the onsite restaurant was delicious (tasty and full of flavors!) - for room service it arrived quick and hot! The private hot tub on the porch was perfect. Nothing super fancy, but it's a cute place. Needs work: Accessibility --- We stayed in the King Suite across the bridge, meaning we had to be taken over in a golf cart because you can't drive your car into that area. Consider such based on your mobility needs. Because there's a ramp up to the the room it's referred to as "accessible" but for those who accessibility is a requirement, please note there's a "curb" you have to step over into the spacious walk-in shower, and uneven entry way to the porch.

If you value your personal and financial well-being, I do not recommend staying at Sycamore Springs.  Here are the problems I encountered during my stay October 29th to November 1st, 2024 ....... *** YOUR SAFETY IS NOT THEIR PRIORITY: On October 30th, a man entered my room with a key card and without knocking.  As a woman traveling alone, having my private space invaded like that was deeply upsetting.  So, I called the front desk, reported the incident, and was brushed off when I asked for a "Do Not Disturb" sign to avoid another intrusion.  The male staffer said, "Housekeeping does not come to your room unless you ask."  If that was true, how did a strange man enter my room unannounced AND housekeeping knock on my door before checkout time?  I have been asked to relive this intrusion over and over by management as part of their "investigation."  For over 3 weeks, I have been requesting a resolution to this problem.  What I got was delayed responses and re-traumatizing questions I had already answered.  Ultimately, Sycamore Springs management concluded that since I did not complain about the intrusion AGAIN at check-out, I must have enjoyed my stay (instead of the fact I was in a hurry to get back to my cats who were sitting in a locked car).  And because their "investigation" did not lead to evidence that satisfied THEM, the intrusion must not have happened at all.  So, they have refused to honor my request to refund my stay. If Sycamore Springs recorded the calls made from room phones to the front desk, they would have heard my complaint.  If Sycamore Springs kept track of who had active key cards for my room that day, they would have known who entered my room.  But since Sycamore Springs does neither, be prepared to be victim shamed if your safety is put at risk and you bring it to their attention.  And be prepared to pay for your entire stay despite your safety and privacy rights being violated.  *** NOT A PET-FRIENDLY HOTEL: I asked for a "pet-friendly room" when I made the reservation.  My two cats and I needed somewhere to briefly stay while relocating.  After I checked out of Sycamore Springs, I went to get groceries and my card was declined.  When I looked at my account, I saw a charge from Sycamore Springs for $338.25.  Since I paid for my stay in-full upon reservation (along with a surprise $100 deposit I paid at check-in that I was not told about until I arrived), there should be no further charges.  I called Sycamore Springs and learned I was being accused of and charged for "pet smuggling" two dogs.  I was also informed housekeeping found and have pictures of "a lot of dog hair that required extensive cleaning".  I do not have dogs.  And, my two cats hid in their carriers 90% of our stay, making this "massive amount of dog hair" impossible.  I explained that a mistake has been made by Sycamore Springs, and the staffer told me a manager, Laura, would call me that night or the following morning at the latest.  Laura called the following night and left a voicemail detailing why I was charged for cleaning up after 2 dogs (that I made clear I do not have) in a No Pet room (that made clear I did not request).     Instead of ASKING for my side of the story in the first place, Sycamore Springs management chose to assume wrong-doing, ignore my rebuttal to these charges, and take $338.25 from my account without warning or merit.  The only reason this money was refunded to me 12 days later is because I happened to see the charge and protested it.  If Sycamore Springs recorded calls for quality assurance, they would know I asked for a pet-friendly room.  If Sycamore Springs had "No Pets" signs like they have "No Smoking" signs in their rooms, I would have gone to the front desk and said "there's been a mistake."  But since Sycamore Springs does neither, be prepared for massive additional pet fees charged at their discretion because you brought your pet to their "pet-friendly" hotel. *** FALSE ADVERTISING: I asked for a 'pet-friendly room with a fireplace."  As mentioned above, Sycamore Springs was not friendly to me or my pets, despite heavily advertising how "pet-friendly" the are on their website. In addition, I paid extra for an actual fireplace and got a flatscreen TV image of a fireplace instead.  When I brought this to management's attention, I was told it was a "gas-powered unit."  It was an electric wall-mounted screen image of a fire that gave off less heat that the actual TV.  I stayed at Sycamore Springs for my honeymoon years ago and had a real fireplace.  A TV is not a fireplace. Sycamore Springs used false advertising to charge more money for a fireplace AND more money for pet fees.

I absolutely love it here.y family and I have been coming here for years. The staff is very friendly, spa is always very clean with beautiful surroundings. I had a massage yesterday from Diamond and it was the best massage I have had.

Crappy digs, smelly, overpriced, and they don't pick up trash. The hot tubs were not all that.

We were gifted an hour in the Mineral springs hot tub. We went on a cold January day and were skeptical. But it was very peaceful and enjoyable and relaxing. There's a gift store at the entrance. There's bathrooms and changing rooms along the walkway area up to your hot tub or you can change in your own hot tub space, yes outside. They are very secluded.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway to celebrate my boyfriends birthday at the resort. The check-in time was 4pm, which is pretty late for most establishments. By accident, we arrived early at 3pm as we had missed this information in our reservation details. The property is beautiful, so we enjoyed an hour in the gardens lounging until 4pm. No big deal! When we returned to the front desk to check in at 4pm, we were told our room wasn't ready. Front desk staff asked us to have a seat at the bar, and our room would be ready shortly. We each enjoyed a drink at the bar, thinking 30 minutes would have been generous to hang back while the housekeeping team caught up on their work. Nope, 4:30pm and room was still not ready. We were offered apologies and two coupons for a free dessert or appetizer at the Gardens restaurant (we were enticed by this to dine there, which was not a good experience). We sat and waited until after 5pm, then our room was finally ready. We were excited to stay here for our weekend getaway, and didn't want this to put a damper on our experience, but we had multiple bad experiences staying here during the short time we had the room and tub. We really wanted to relax in our hot tub as much as possible, but felt like the operations of this place were preventing us from this at every turn. Our last morning there was a Sunday and we drew a nice morning tub to enjoy before departing. Unfortunately, the housekeepers were banging on our door at 10:30am, "HOUSEKEEPING!" as we were still enjoying our last moments in the tub. Check-out time was 11am! Had to tell them through the door not to enter. Would they have entered had I not heard them, if our deck door was closed? We were nude! It gave us anxiety. We were extremely disappointed in this experience, especially for the price. Please respect the time and privacy of your guests! We will not stay here again.

I have used the hot tubs on multiple occasions and the experiences have been good for the most part. The 60 minute hot tub special on the hillside is quite nice and the scenery is beautiful. The prices are really great and the staff is very friendly at check-in. The only problem I have is that personal trash has been left behind at some of the tubs and on the ground below the tubs. One visit I spotted some trash that was pretty gross ( condom wrappers and lube) which was thrown under the hot tub and could be spotted through the deck gaps. I heard rumors and jokes that people use the hot tubs for other reasons (if you know what I mean) but I didn't worry too much since chlorine can kill most bacteria. Still, I didn't enjoy seeing the evidence of someone's raunchy behavior.

This place used to be nice but, it has really gone down hill. My friends and I just stayed here for a girls weekend. It cost us 600 a night with no air conditioning, no housekeeping and the list could go on. We also got massages here which was probably one of the worst massages I had ever received. The message therapist messaged my knees! It seemed she was not experienced. Then after coming back from the gardens we walked back into the spa the next day to use the restroom and were told to hike up the stairs in which all those bathrooms were booked. We came back and the spa attendant refused to let us in. She claimed she would be written up and said the spa was full. No one was there or waiting. To top it off, we had restaurant vouchers which we decided to use the last day before checking out. We sat down for dinner and no one came by to help us. After 20 minutes we decided to leave and go to Starbucks. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone for any reason.

Disappointed with our stay. Rooms are outdated, tubs are old and not clean. Simply not worth the money. Paint peeling everywhere, chipped walls, this place needs a facelift not worth more than 100$ Felt like we walked into a time warp of the 80s.

Still no comment from this Resort, even a personal email, regarding our concerns/complaints. Where's their customer relations?

3.5 stars What was great? The hotel property is massive with a private trial to a lovely lookout (1.5 miles round trip), a great walk out to Avila Beach, tons of trees and green space, multiple sitting areas, and really great staff. The room was expensive for what it was, nothing was particularly high quality and for $550/night, it's not worth it. There was a garbage shoot or some sort of garbage sorting just underneath our floor, so every time we went to our room it smelled of garbage in the outside hallway to get to our door. The mineral springs are a separate fee, which we paid for and it was fun but there also wasn't much of a view - it's great that they use mineral water but it's also badly drenched in chlorine (my eyes started burning within about 15 minutes). The restaurant was fine, and being close to the beach is nice. There are better options both north and south of this.

The website doesn't do this place justice! Private hot tubs nestled in the trees in a Swiss Family Robinson style with peace, quiet, and oak forest surrounding. Lovely gift shop, too. Highly recommend!

I spend time in this part of California every summer. It is my favorite part of the central coast. I have passed by this resort countless times but never stopped. After reading Ania K's great review I knew I had to check it out on this trip. This is a beautiful resort just before you hit Avila Beach. They have nice rooms with spas in each one. Definitely a place to bring your lover, partner, spouse or significant other. I didn't stay here but booked a sunset jacuzzi. Here is the best part, all of the spa's are located outside amongst the Monterey coastal oak trees. Yes Please!! The cost is $19.00 Mon - Thurs and the weekends it runs $24.00. You have the spa for a whole hour and it's very private. I requested to be way up high in the trees and that is what I got. You do not have to be a guest at the hotel to book the spa. The staff is not the friendliest, these girls could use some customer service training but I didn't care as I wasn't there for them. Walking up the stairs, I didn't know what to expect but I was getting more excited with every step. I finally made it to Shangri La! I quickly set my stuff down, and got in. After 10 miles of hiking that day, this was the best treat ever. The light cast a beautiful glow on the oak trees and I felt like I was right where I belonged. Just soaking in the this magical tub amongst Mother Nature. I didn't want to leave, but my time ended. My whole body felt relaxed and comfortable. I knew I would sleep well. I gathered my items and headed out. I almost booked another jacuzzi for the next day but also had other plans. Next summer I will be staying here and enjoying these spas every day while I am staying. Here are some tips: 1. Arrive timely for your spa. It is only one hour and they start promptly. 2. You can take snacks, wine, beer up to the spa. They will poor your drink into a plastic cup. It was nice way to unwind. 3. You have to give them your ID at check in. DON'T FORGET IT like I did. I had to drive back the next day to retrieve it. 4. Let all your worries and responsibilities go and enjoy this time with yourself, lover, or family. 5. Enjoy the nature that surrounds you. Just writing this review makes me want to jump in my car and head back!

Never ever again! The place charges $450 for a motel-like room with a popcorn ceiling and a very basic hot tub. Also BEWARE that this price doesn't include the use of the amenities and hot tubs on the premises. You can only stay in the hot tubs in your room. They want you to pay extra for the usage of the hot tubs in the gardens. The service was also rude, and we felt rushed the entire time, especially during checkout. The grounds are decent, but staying overnight isn't worth it. We would have rather rented a hot tub by the hour and saved money. Overall, this was not a luxury experience, and I can't recommend this place.

I've visited this hotel several times and loved the experience, and this was my first revisit since Covid time. Unfortunately this time turned out not so pleasant due to the thin walls and noise from the guests in the next room. Despite the quiet hours policy being in place, the guests in the next room were using the spa tub on the patio past 11pm. After returning to their room, their every move was clearly audible through the thin walls, including bed creaking and moaning sounds that lasted for nearly an hour. I was traveling with my child and was worried that he would wake up due to the noise. While I understand that the thin walls are beyond their control and that guests have different ways of enjoying their stay, I would strongly request that they pay more attention to room assignments and avoid placing couples and families next to each other. This would help to ensure a more peaceful and enjoyable experience for all guests.

My husband and I have stayed here twice in the last six months and will probably not go back. It is expensive and not worth the price. The people that work there are generally very nice. I feel like the owners are making a killing!

This review is just for the hot tub rental. And you know what? It's pretty great. I've been coming here for 10 years and have never had an issue. Sure, if you get stuck with a hot tub towards the very top it can be a tiring trek, which isn't always the most welcome late at night or if you're tired. And some of the lattice fencing around the tubs is a bit older (not is disrepair) BUT... these are mineral spring hot tubs built outside up a large hill. This isn't supposed to have a Burke Williams aesthetic. And the hot tubs themselves just got redone with updated lighting and look awesome. Also, more often than not the staff is super friendly. I've never had an issue. You can easily make a reservation online. Hot tubs can book out pretty quickly during peak hours and seasons so book early if you know you want to go.

My favorite place to visit! I love staying here! My mom couldn't watch my son the last time we came so we decided to bring our baby with us and I so happy we did! Since you can control the temperature of the water that fills the hot tub I was able to have him hangout with us in there with some of his water toys and he absolutely loved it! He also slept super well after which I'll attribute to the magical healing powers of the hot spring water.

This resort was amazing. It offered ultimate relaxation due to the hot springs on the private balcony of our suite. The therapeutic effects of the hot springs combined with the beautiful lush landscape created a heavenly atmosphere. There were hot springs on the side of the hill that could be rented out hourly till 10:30 pm from the gift shop or online separately from the hotel. The pricing was quite reasonable and the experience quite enjoyable. The restaurant , Gardens of Avila, provided delicious food using locally grown produce. The in house smoke salmon and avocado toast was my favorite. The short rib was also quite delicious. This resort is dog friendly, and make your pet feel special providing doggie snacks and a doggie bed.

We just recently stayed here and absolutely loved it. The staff is very nice and welcoming and willing to help in any kind of way. Their food is wonderful and the room and hot tub in our room was clean and very well taken care of. There is so much to do here that you don't even need to leave. We toured the hot tub springs that you can rent by the hour and they are all very nice and secluded. We will definitely be going back. An amazing place to spend your anniversary or if you want to take your whole family.

We stayed there this weekend and woke up with ants all over in our bed and in our luggage, this was a Valentine's trip and it was ruined. We have contacted management and all they will do is give us a free upgrade next time. It is a no smoking resort and when we would go to our private Jacuzzi all we could smell is the aroma of weed. To each their own but when you are trying to have a relaxing getaway at a spa resort it did not allow us to enjoy what we payed for. We would have saved money at motel 6 and probably had a better experience.
