I am so happy we did this tour, the guide was fantastic! As a pair of novice architecture appreciaters, looking to learn and discover more about our city this was perfect. I will be doing all the tours on the roster now. Very reasonably priced compared to what is out there in Sydney tourism, especially to have an expert guide and how long the tour goes for.

Had a wonderful tour today led by Eoghan, learning about the history of Sydney's most iconic construction, the Opera House. I had no idea of the personal and political drama surrounding its construction, and the fascinating characters involved. Eoghan is an architect himself and his passion and knowledge of the subject (both technical and historical) makes this tour a must for anyone who wants to dive a bit deeper into the "whys and "how" some decisions (some good, some bad) resulted on what the Opera is now. Next time I'm in Sydney I'll make sure to join another SAW tour!

Engaged, insightful story telling Eoghan genuine love of history, place and architecture is beautifully entwined into stories that are far greater then the some of their parts. Communicating the layered and often tumultuous history behind Sydney’s built environment was seamlessly done through series of stories that resonate well beyond the day of the tour. I left Sydney wishing I had signed up for all the tours on offer.

Nick was the best tour guide I've ever had. His passion was evident, his knowledge knew no limits and he welcomed active discussion among our group. Definitely recommending this tour to anyone interested in the architectural history of Sydney!

A fun and informative afternoon walking thru Kings Cross and Elizabeth Bay for 2 hours. You will discover interesting and historical buildings from James's knowledge as a local resident & architect, but also hear the fascinating stories of famous and infamous people who lived (and died) in the area.

Architect Eoghan Lewis gave a passionate, intelligent and informative tour of the making of the Sydney Opera House and the protagonists behind it – a fascinating story. I recommend taking this tour.

The tour I did with Sydney Architecture Walks was excellent. I am very much an architecture novice but I found the information pitched at a perfect level, not too simplistic but not too jargon-y either. I learnt so much about Sydney's history too. Would 100% recommend!

We absolutely loved this tour! It was super informative yet light. Our guide was an excellent story teller; we were engaged the entire tour that time flew by without us noticing. What’s wonderful about architecture is that it is not isolated, it tells you about history, politics, social trends, public policy… etc.; so it was a beautiful introduction to the city. I wish we did more tours with SAW, but we were there only briefly. I would recommend that you plan ahead because at the time we were there they only offered the tour on Saturday morning. I would also recommend you get in touch with them ahead of time to arrange for the non-basic tours. We wish we did the Sydney opera house tour!! Also, at the end of the tour they gave us a mini-guide of places they love and go to as locals in Sydney and that was absolutely wonderful. We had tried a couple of the places mentioned there and loved them. Getting that mini-guide is another good reason to go on a tour early on in your trip so you can have it from the start.
