Prince Edward Island is so small, I decided to make the Sydney Hotel my home base for five days and take day trips in different directions. This is a beautiful hotel with outstanding staff. Front desk, breakfast buffet, and the person that cleaned my room were all so friendly. The room was very large and beautifully decorated. I was on the ground floor and had a courtyard view. I had breakfast everyday and it was very good. It is a bit of a walk, but I am over 60 and was able to walk to waterfront and downtown.

Great place to stay! Rooms are spacious with comfortable beds (best on the trip!) and thoughtful touches including robes and slippers. A full breakfast is included (that’s the only area that could use improvement) and the staff is very helpful. We chose this hotel as it had laundry service which is inexpensive compared to other hotels. It was returned super fast! I’d recommend this hotel when staying in the area.

We have to rate this as a 5 even more if it was available. This hotel is luxurious with thick carpets in the hallway and in the bedrooms. Often when reading a room description before getting to a hotel you end up being sorely disappointed but not here. It is all it says it is. |Whilst it does not have a restaurant there are many choices within a few hundred yards/metres that Jason or Kent are happy to discuss with you. Breakfast is served in the basement and if there is a fault it’s here. It would be nice if there was a proper greeting from the staff and tables were laid in the buffet style room rather than staff just clearing tables and replenishing items. That said the breakfast is plentiful and a bit different from the other hotels we stayed in during our trip in Canada. |Shopping and restaurants are within a short walk together with the usual tourist attractions. Get out of the city and into the countryside and the coastal areas of Prince Edward Island and you find yourself bathed in peace and quiet. If we ever return to Canada we would spend longer on the island to explore more of its scenery.

Wonderfully located in the heart of Charlottetown. An easy walk to everything we wanted: the waterfront, great local restaurants, small shops, the cinema on Main Street, even theatres. The hotel has a quiet kind of elegance. Just really well done. Our room was clean and spacious, perfect for families. My kids had space to stretch out, and I loved how peaceful it felt. Design-wise, it struck all the right notes. Tall windows letting in soft natural light, beautiful curtains that felt as good as they looked, and a shower that was genuinely exceptional. Details like a proper shoehorn and high-quality amenities didn’t go unnoticed. Everything felt considered. Right beside the hotel is a lovely little park where my kids played in the mornings. That made a big difference to start the day with fresh air and movement before heading off to explore the island or hit the beach, which was only a short drive away. The staff were kind, present, and charming. There when we needed something, but never overbearing. This place made me think about what real luxury is. It’s not about flash—it’s about how a place makes you feel.

This hotel is way over-rated. The rooms are OK, but with a windowless living room. There is no gym, no bar. But the main weakness of the place is the shameful breakfast, I've no other way to describe it. The pastries seem to have been bought at a convenience store. The coffee is very mediocre. There is no cheese, no fresh bread. I would expect this from a two-star hotel, not from a 5-star hotel.

I am loving my stay at Sydney Inn. The Junior Suite is beautiful and much bigger than i thought! It’s great for solo traveller or couple. Everything is so clean and neat. The staff is super friendly and helpful (thank you very much Gorden!!). I really enjoy their breakfast. Lots of variety, both hot and cold. I am glad I have 3 more nights left to enjoy this wonderful place 😊 PS. The location is perfect! Everything is within walking distance.

We were fortunate to receive an upgrade to a very large, two bedroom suite on the top floor. The suite was beautifully presented and extremely comfortable. Each morning we took advantage of the complimentary breakfast in the breakfast room which is based on the lower ground floor. This was really good, with a great choice of both hot and cold food. The Suites have excellent free car parking and are just a 10 minute walk from downtown where most of the restaurants are based.

Beautiful hotel to stay in all around. Historic building renovated over the years which is truly stunning. The staff were very friendly. The room was very clean and I felt like I was at home. It was a really nice experience and I’d highly recommend to stay to witness the night life. Short walk to the harbour front to go to various stores or grab an ice cream cone at Cows. On site parking if you have a vehicle free of charge, complementary early morning breakfast every morning which was very tasty. Lots of fresh tasty breakfast options.

Yelp
What a pleasant surprise to find such a beautiful hotel in downtown Charlottetown! We were looking for a unique experience and found it with this beautifully renovated convent and school! The exterior looks nothing special but walking in was breathtaking. The staff were exceptionally friendly, the lobby and hallways were all beautifully decorated, the rooms were all clean and much care went into keeping the guests socially distanced and safe. Our room was cozy and beautiful. Everything clean and well maintained. The included breakfast was amazing with quite a delicious variety to choose from. Fresh eggs and sausage, breakfast potatoes and zucchini frittata. Would definitely return on my next visit to Charlottetown. Definitely a highlight of our visit.

Yelp
We were not expecting such a beautiful luxurious boutique hotel here in PEI. Sydney Boutique Inn, is perhaps one of the most beautiful and cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at in Canadá. It's so clean and pretty. The location is great and it's close walking distance to all the restaurants and little shops. The bed and the pillows are so comfortable which made us fall asleep easily. The decorations and the atmosphere is magnificent. The blackout curtains are perfect and pretty. The front desk manager, Kent was so pleasant. He made sure we had all we wanted in our pretty little room. We highly recommend this hotel

Yelp
At first sight, you think you're staying at an old office building because the exterior doesn't look like a five star hotel. However, the second you step in, you definitely feel the luxury with an old-fashioned feel to it. Decor: I can't say enough about how classically beautiful this hotel is. The hallways are lined with wainscoting and sparkly chandeliers. Coco Chanel would definitely approve of those alone. The king room was spacious with a great sitting area. Everything match down to the bedding to the curtains. A chandelier above the bed made me feel like a princess. Service: I wish I remembered the gentleman that helped us the most during our stay. He was so nice and helpful. He gave us suggestions on where to eat and directions on where to go. He held our luggage for us and just had a great overall disposition. Location: Restaurants, shopping, and the pier are all within walking distance. The area is safe and quaint. Cons: My only complaints are that (1) they used traditional keys to access the rooms, (2) the not-so-responsive cable box and (3) the location of the TV. Keys are very inconvenient when you have bags of groceries or souvenirs. The cable box or remote didn't work very well from far distances. I literally had to be 6 inches from the box for the remote to work. There was no problem with the remote working with the TV though. The position of the TV was not very helpful if you wanted to watch TV in bed. It was fine for the seating area though. Overall, you will feel like royalty stay here. There is so much character and elegance that you wish you could live there.

Yelp
Fabulous stay in every way - great property, personal but unobtrusive service. Rooms were an uncommon combination of luxurious and functional. Cannot recommend highly enough if looking for a luxury hotel in Charlottetown.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Beautiful hotel, newly renovated I believe. It used to a convent so the outside is really beautiful. The decor was nice, but everything was a tiny bit off. My family and I stayed in a two bedroom, and I was in the smaller bedroom. The bed took up most of the room and the closet was absolutely tiny. Luckily, I didn't need to use it since I was staying only three days, but the closet seemed disproportionately small and the bed disproportionately huge. My parent's room didn't have a towel rack installed at first, but someone installed it after our first night. There was leftover food on the floor from the occupants before, that house cleaning missed. Additionally, the keurig pods were not replaced until we inquired with the front desk. The staff were extremely helpful though! Overall, it's in a great location, it's not quite in downtown but close enough that it's a ~10/15 min walk. Quiet streets but beautiful neighbourhood. There's also a free breakfast in the basement, which was fine, classic scrambled eggs, fruit, and pastries.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in a great location. The front reception staff are wonderful and very knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms are beautifully designed and decorated and, the beds are so comfortable.

Yelp
I return every summer to visit family and opted to treat us to private quarters :). This place is a gem in the heart of downtown. Breakfast is plentiful and lots of option. Grounds are very beautiful as well. Room was exactly like it was depicted in the pictures. Bed- super comfy but the pillows... even better. I wish they would sell them. Hint hint! The wine glasses, real creamers etc are a nice touch in the room. If you are looking for lobby action, this isn't the place. However I would recommend to them that they do a happy hour social in the garden or in the lobby. Just some light snacks and wine or beer for the guests later afternoon. It could encourage saying hello! To someone new and it's a guest appreciation thing. For the price point, I think they should do something like that.

Yelp
A beautiful hotel, lovely rooms, very quiet. As others have said, the bed is so comfortable! The breakfast in the morning is massive and tasty. Really ne of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in.

Yelp
Fantastic 2 week stay! Wonderful amenities. Beautiful suite with a full kitchen and laundry facilities in the room. Fantastic service and great staff. Couldn't have asked for a better stay in PEI.

Yelp
What a find. Lots of history in this exquisitely restored former school and convent. Architecturally interesting and beautifully decorated and appointed. Bedding, towels, robes, toiletries were all first class as was the included breakfast. Great location with easy parking and check in.

Yelp
Phenomenal rooms and customer service. We even left our passports in the safe, and an employee brought them to our next hotel in Halifax.

Yelp
Beautiful boutique hotel in historic section of Charlottetown. Decor is impeccable, and service first rate. We had a deluxe queen suite which had full living area. It is not budget priced, but certainly value for the money. Ask to stay in the older section. The rooms are quite large, with beautiful inset dormer windows. There is no bellman service, but parking is adjacent to the hotel, and an easy schlep for your bags. Ample restaurants within a five minute walk, and breakfast is included with the room rate.

Yelp
Absolutely AMAZING hotel. Not only was it Beautiful, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Got the best tips on fabulous restaurants and where to go on the island. I can't recommend this Inn enough, it made our vacation.
