The cricket ground presents itself as a significant sporting venue with deep historical importance. It serves as a meaningful memorial to accomplished sports personalities who have left their mark on the game. The venue radiates positive energy and ambiance. My personal experience at the location reflects profound satisfaction and appreciation for being present at such a historically significant site. The ground's connection to numerous distinguished sports persons with remarkable achievements adds to its prestige and cultural significance. I would like to express deep appreciation for both the physical space and its historical significance in sporting history. The venue clearly stands as a testament to sporting excellence and continues to inspire visitors with its remarkable atmosphere and historical significance.

Inside the SCG is just fabulous, really picturesque ground to watch any sporting event. The facilities were excellent. Outside the ground, it is an absolute eyesore. It needs a major revamp to match the inside of the venue... it felt like a Mexican slum outside the ground..

A magnificent venue for concerts. 10/10 for acoustics and the Sydney City skyline View. We saw the Andrea Bocelli concert with Silver seats high up and not far from the back. There were large projectors showing the performers on either side of the stage. The sound level was just right(not too loud). The staff were well organized and there were plenty of food booths and amenities. Only minor inconvenience was the queue for the Light rail afterwards took a long time due to crowd numbers but everyone was calm and orderly. Didn’t realize there was parking available.

We visited the AFL match Sydney Swans vs Port Adelaide. The afternoon at the SCG was a great experience for all of us. We took the metro from Crows Nest where we parked our car, got down at Central and walked 25min around Allianz Stadium to the SCG. The entry was quite easy including the check of our bags. You can take water with you but there are enough bistros and cafes behind the bays to get your food and drinks without waiting in line. The quality of the food was surprisingly good. The atmosphere in the stands was very pleasant and safe, we saw many families with children enjoying the match. After the match, we left the SCG easily together with friendly fans of both teams.

A Memorable Cricket Experience at an Iconic Venue! We recently attended the thrilling cricket match between Pakistan and Australia, and it was an unforgettable experience! The stadium is in fantastic condition, with well-maintained grounds and excellent facilities that made our visit comfortable and enjoyable. The atmosphere was electric, with both teams delivering a nail-biting performance that kept us on the edge of our seats. The crowd’s energy was contagious, and we all left with hoarse voices from cheering and chanting throughout the game. This venue isn’t just a historical gem but also a versatile one, hosting various events and sports. Located in an iconic setting, it’s a place that guarantees cherished memories every time we visit. A must-experience for any sports enthusiast!

The Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is an iconic venue, and it was truly a privilege to attend Day 1 of the Pink Ball Test during the BGT 2024/25. The stadium offers a unique blend of the historic Members’ Stand and modern seating areas, creating a charming mix of old-world charm and contemporary design. The venue is conveniently located near the light rail at Moore Park, which connects to Central Station, providing easy access to the metro and train network. I had the opportunity to sit in the Brewongle Stand, Level 5, and the views were absolutely stunning. From there, you get a panoramic view of the entire stadium and the action on the field. While it was possible to move around to neighboring stands for different perspectives, many of the stands below and to the left were reserved for corporate or members’ seating, making access a bit more restricted compared to other areas. One drawback was the chaotic crowd handling and the stadium's age shows up here. While it didn’t ruin the overall experience, it did lead to long lines on narrow stairwells, as well as queues for washrooms and food. Exiting the stadium after the last ball was bowled was similarly congested. The stand I was in did not have water filling stations, though I’m aware that stands like the O’Reilly Stand are equipped with them. Food options were decent, but prices felt slightly higher compared to the MCG. These are minor issues, though, and it’s worth noting that given the SCG’s historic nature, there are limits to how much modernization is possible. It retains a certain old-stadium feel, which is part of its charm like the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, even if it lacks some of the sleekness of modernized venues like the MCG. Overall, the SCG remains an iconic venue, and I’m so glad I had the chance to witness a historic series and a wonderful day of cricket there.

I went for the Australia vs India Pink Test match day 1. My first experience watching a test match at SCG and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than this. Everything was so smooth from the security checks and transport management. I enjoyed the ambience especially the sporting crowd

Yelp
Such an amazing place to visit while in Sydney. It is a beautifully historic venue and a place to watch some fast-paced footy.

Yelp
This venue combines new and old stands. The Members and Ladies Stands are the iconic pictures for this place. The Ladies stand is accessible to the public when Sheffield Shield (cricket) is playing but is restricted to members only for test matches. Transport is not great unless special buses are put on and the walk from Central Railway is a bit of a hike. Food is way over priced but access to water is free. Alcohol can't be brought into the ground and full strength can't be bought in the public area and what can be bought is very very expensive You often see patrons getting their grog before any match at the local pub Often it is free entry to Sheffield Shield matches

Yelp
This is a great spot in Sydney to watch sport. Whether that be cricket, league or Aussie rules. That said, it's not as good as it used to be. I've been to the annual New Years Test every year since 2002, a heap of league games and too many Swans games to count. I saw Steve Waugh's amazing 100, Shane Warne's 300th test wicket and Australia win the Ashes 5-0 twice. In the 14+ years I've also seen the grand old ground lose its character. The new stands are functional but ordinary for the usual spectator placing most of those sitting in them a loooong way away from the action. On top of this, it's a difficult place to get to. Public transport options are few and for most people involve a bus and train at the very least. And the lines for the buses are sooo slow. Then when you get to the ground, every food and drink joint charge ridiculously inflated prices for inferior products. The beers are flat and in plastic cups, food is luke warm and soggy and while options are more numerous than a few years ago, there still seems to be very little enticing choices. On top of this, prices seem to increase by between 5-10% every year despite being ridiculously high in the first place! If it wasn't for the games of sport you can see here and the fact it is the home to some of the greats like Bradman and Benaud it would get less stars.

Yelp
When I heard that MLB had given the thumbs up for the first ever OFFICIAL Baseball game outside of North America, I was ecstatic! However, I didn't realize it was going to be the Arizona Diamondbacks vs my Los Angeles Dodgers! The question was where was it going to be held. When my Australian Family came to visit, I didn't realize that was the sign. Baseball was going to be held in Sydney at the Sydney Cricket Grounds in Australia! I don't know where to begin with this. I wanted to be part of baseball history. Australia has their baseball team, but I believe the hidden agenda for all of this was for baseball to be an Olympic Game. Sydney Cricket Grounds is a historic playing grounds that probably has been around for 100+ years. To be part of MLB, Australia, and my own history to unite our countries/families for the love of baseball is truly worth it. This is one of many stadiums that is truly unique across Sydney and the world. With its oval shape, MLB had to make sure this stadium would properly turn into a baseball field. However, I may have been in a different country that usually doesn't play baseball or have a lot of baseball stadiums, but the vibe from the day of the game, its business as usual as a baseball fan. The one thing that I saw extremely odd was the 2 Foot Hot Dog! Yeah, something you don't see at everyday baseball parks. Well...maybe some of you do or just gorge down a ton of hot dogs at the All-You-Can-Eat section. Since I was at a baseball game, I had to get some beers: Australian Beers. I got some Victoria Bitter and Pure Blonde. There were a lot of concession stands open from the ground level to the top deck. The store that was selling out like crazy were the stores. The Los Angeles Dodgers Merchandise were to go first. Luckily, my uncle and I were able to grab some items before it was sold out. At the end of the game, the only items that remained were the Diamondbacks merchandise...lol! The 1st Game was completely sold out and I am glad that the Los Angeles Dodgers won! I won't be able to substitute my experience with the Yelp Community since you really have to go here on your own. I became part of history with my favorite team, Los Angeles Dodgers, MLB, Australia, and more importantly, myself. I saw fans wearing different jerseys from the Braves, Giants, and Yankees represent. Sydney Cricket Grounds just became larger than what has been for the past century. This game was more than just a friendly competition, it is/was LIFE! You think I write too much? Well, you can call me a Yelp-O-Holic!

Yelp
Came here to watch MLB Opening Series- Game 1. Wasn't sure what to expect, but I absolutely loved it. The building was beautiful, there were plenty of bathrooms/stalls, and lots of places to eat.

Yelp
My second review. I've been coming here my whole life. I love the place but lines, lines, lines.....the past few years security lines have been long and now beverage and food lines. In fact they are the worst food and drink linesI've seen at any ground in the world and Ive been to more than 50 grounds and 100s of events around the world. SCG you need to improve your game.

Yelp
The grand ol' dame of Australian sporting arenas. The SCG is everything you want in a woman: convenient, classic, accessible, classy, and looks good from every angle. Every time I'm with her I wonder why it's taken me so long to be here. A day spent watching the cricket here is one of the most enjoyable experiences a human being in this fine harbour city can have. Get down to the Big Bash! It's a ballin' night out.

Yelp
I first went to the SCG in 1998 to watch Sydney Swans v Brisbane Lions. I was 14 and had come over from the UK to visit my dad, and I was watching a sport that made absolutely no sense but looked entertaining enough. 13 years later and I was sitting among the Barmy Army watching England, let's say, destroy the Aussies in the 5th test of the Ashes. In that time, around half the ground has been redeveloped, with the new stands looking magnificent, while the old members and ladies pavilions fill the ground with a classic character that fits in perfectly with a cricket ground. Despite all the technological advancements we see in sport today (apart from in football apparently!), cricket still holds some of it's traditional feel to it, despite the move towards shorter games and brighter outfits. The SCG is a fantastic cricket ground, and I really hope rumours that they're thinking of taking test matches away from there to play in the bigger ANZ Stadium are a load of rubbish!

Yelp
Sydney Cricket Ground or SCG as it is more popularly known as is home to not just Sydney's Cricket but also to Aussie Rules Footy. It is undoubtedly the best venue in Sydney to watch Australia play Twenty20 or One day matches. But I went there to watch a Swans Game. My first time watching AFL. It is just exhilarating watching the fans cheer. No amount of watching a game at home can compare to watching it live in a stadium filled with 30,000 Fans. What i was most impressed with, is actually outside the stadium. The Car park facility and arrangement for the AFL game was beyond excellence. The parking is on the lawn outside and I was impressed with the number of officials involved in guaranteeing a hassle free parking arrangement. As the cars entered the venue, they were directed in a single line to the fill in the various rows and columns such that no one had to Look for a spot, but was guaranteed a spot without blocking traffic behind them. The stadium in itself is very well maintained and the grass was fresh and neatly trimmed in spite of it being a game towards the end of the series. The seats are not too bad.. It did start to drizzle and I wish the roof shade was larger so it could protect a lot more rows, to avoid having to move back and miss the best seats up front.

Yelp
Best place to watch the cricket in Australia. As expected the food and drink is very expensive, but you're there to watch an event, so swings and roundabouts and take the good with the bad.

Yelp
I was last here for England's ill-fated defense of The Ashes, January 2007. What a stadium! What atmosphere! 45,000 people but all full of respect for the sport and its stars. Superb modern Stands alongside magnificent old Clubhouses from the past. TV monitors at every bar, so you don't miss a thing whilst queuing for an 'ice-cold'. Pity we were thrashed!

Yelp
If you've never been to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) to watch a live sporting event then you're really missing out. There is the odd concert held there too so if that's the only time you visit then so be it but it really is a must to watch some sport. In summer it's all about the cricket. One dayers and Test matches pack out the ground although if you head there for a Sheffield Shield game you can enjoy the stadium in all it's glory with only a few hundred others. In winter the Sydney Swans play a majority of their home games there and there is the odd league game played there too but at some point you really must watch some type of game there. If you're lucky enough to know or be a member then you can enjoy the extra pleasures like the gym, tennis courts and pools that the place has to offer but I can only dream about that part!

Yelp
This is a cool place to be. They've got so many entertaining stuff happening apart from the game itself.
