I've been a loyal customer of Sydney Electric Bikes since 2020, right when the pandemic began and I needed a safe, reliable mode of transport. Fast forward to today, and my experience has been consistently positive. The staff — including the owners — have always been incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and welcoming. Reading some of the negative reviews honestly surprises me. While I understand some people may have had genuine issues, my personal experience has been nothing short of excellent over the past four years. I felt compelled to share my perspective because this team has gone above and beyond for me time and again. Yes, their services can be on the pricier side — but I never had to go back to have something looked at a second time. they’re always upfront about the costs, explain everything clearly, and the quality speaks for itself. Compared to other bike shops and repair services I’ve tried in the past, Sydney Electric Bikes has proven to be the most reliable and trustworthy. At the end of the day, this is a small local business doing great work. If you’re reading reviews, sure, consider the negative ones — but take them with a grain of salt. I can only speak from personal experience, and mine has been fantastic.

It was an easy transaction and they were very good at explaining how to operate the electric bike and new lock. I know it killed them when I talked about using a milk crate on the back of the bike, but that didn’t change their service at all. No pressure sales! 👍👍

Very happy with my experience with the company and the service is excellent. I recently dropped in to their shop in pyrmont unannounced about 1pm needing a service and to fix a punctured back tyre that had happened while riding my ebike earlier the same day. By 3:30pm the bike had been fully serviced and was collection. I would recommend this bike shop to anyone who is looking for a great bike and great service!.

Do not go here! I have had a terrible experience with this company and have an unusable bike that I only purchased a few months ago. We wanted a bike that could carry a dog on the back and they said this was a good bike for that so we paid for a rack on the back to put a carrier they said it would be easy to put a further basket for the dog. They gave us an uber bag that was not fit for use and said we should look online for a different carrier and then after we had purchased the bike they said that this was not the best bike for this purpose but they would not exchange it. We also asked for a battery that would be higher power but then said this was the only battery available and that they had adjusted it to be more powerful. The battery then stopped working completely. We also ordered a basket for the front of the bike bike that wasn’t ready when we picked the bike up they told us to come back for the basket when we came back they had ordered the wrong basket. We went back again . I then showed them that both the caps for the battery had come off after the first day we took it home they said this didn’t matter but it was new so I was upset that already they had come off. They then said we had to pay more for a different basket that they had in stock which we did. Meanwhile . The battery charges fully and stops working after ten minutes of riding. I cannot talk to anyone on the phone and can’t bring the bike in as I can’t ride it. They said just bring the battery but i said with all the problems I just want an exchange to get a different bike that’s better quality I don’t mind paying more for this. I asked if someone could come get the bike they said no and they don’t do exchanges. This is a bike they say they usually rent so they should be able to reuse it. When we bought the bike I said I don’t want the sign of a rental bike on it and they promised they would find a good looking solution to remove the signage and then just gave me some masking tape to stick in myself. I can’t talk to anyone on the phone they only reply to text messages. The people selling the bike seem only interested in getting money and offer no aftercare or service. I am so upset I live far from the shop and have no car. They are u helpful and not interested in giving me solutions or an exchange so now I’m hoping to get a full refund but have heard nothing from them

I bought a Gazelle e-bike at SEB a few years ago. The purchase process was great, but the service afterwards has been quite average. Just after purchasing the bike, they wanted me to pay for a repair for something that was not installed properly in the first place. They didn’t even manage to fix it properly. Now, they refuse to sell me a part to fix my bike.

Great customer service . Wasn't sure what type of e bike to get … hub motor, mid drive etc. the team took time to explain pros and cons and were very accommodating as I was able to test ride several bikes which made the decision a lot easier. Purchased two Focus Ventura 6.7 bikes.

This store seems to prioritize profit over genuine service. I went in just to get my bike’s crank fixed—everything else was working fine. But instead of addressing the issue I came for, they insisted I had to replace both brake pads and both brake discs as well. And if I didn’t agree to all of it, they refused to fix what I actually needed. Hiding behind "safety" to force unnecessary repairs? That’s just bad business.

Sydney electric bikes are very friendly and have a variety of bikes. They also fix other bikes too which haven't been purchased from here. They provide bikes on rental basis and for purchase. I found many models of electric bike ranging from minimum amount to up to $5000. They staff is very polite, the technicians are expert in their job. You can also find front and rear lights at the shop, but they sell accessories at a bit expensive rates. It is better to buy accessories outside of the shop. I had a great experience renting a bike from them for a month, no but sadly I got a damage battery, they always replace it with new one if available.

Good range of bikes and very conveniently located. Communication with shop for enquiries and updates via phone can be a little hit or miss as it's all via owners mobile, and he's a busy man. They are a friendly bunch though and I'm super happy with the bike I bought.
