Where to Stay in Sydney (Updated 2025)

"I liked this mid-range option for its rooftop terrace with city views, its five-minute walk to the Kings Cross nightlife, roomy accommodations with kitchenettes in most rooms, comfortable beds and staff who can organize tours and day trips." - Matthew Kepnes

Good rooms, functional with Cooktown micro kettle and toasters plus fridge amd kitchen sink ! Comfortable bed, reasonable shower, helpful staff abd management who assisted to overcome a booking error on my part. Will stay again. If working in area. Convenient to woolies, coles and farmers markets. Suitable for linger stays as well as shorter ones ... plenty of local eat out options if desired.

Well the first part was trying to find a park because their little rd was closed took 2 hours to find one, then I had to walk a long way and I have bad knees and ankle. Then we got up to our room which stank to high heaven it was also tiny. As was the little wardrobe bathroom yuck. The lady came up and sprayed stuff around the room to try and disguise the smell which only lasted 10 minutes. Then on our way home the lady in reception was going crook because she said we were supposed to leave the key for the carpark there at 1pm, we never said anything about that we were getting the heck out of there early so left it there at 8am. Then on our only nice part about it was the rooftop and location the rest stinks won’t be returning very disappointed and a waste of money.

This stay was ideal since I wasn’t happy with my previous accommodation. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. Initial booking was a bit stuffed up BUT they sorted this within minutes of my arrival. The room was awesome except the aircon wouldn’t work - was moved again and this room was lovely too with working aircon. A bit of a puzzle but staff were swift and professional. Location is superb! Train literally at the end of the street - lovely cafes and shops around too! Thanks guys!

** STANDARD ROOM** The room itself was decent, but it lacked natural light. I stayed at this hotel for five nights, and on three of those nights, the fire alarm went off. While I understand that false alarms can happen occasionally, experiencing this on three out of five nights suggests a clear issue with the alarm system. **SERVICE** I booked my room through Agoda, but the room I received was different from what was shown in the listing. This appears to have been an issue on Agoda’s end, as the photos displayed did not accurately reflect the actual room. The main reason I chose this hotel was the inclusion of a kitchen, which the standard room did not have. After clarifying the situation with both Agoda and the front desk, I was told I could upgrade to a room with a kitchen by paying the price difference. However, this conversation took place just before reception closed, and I was advised to follow up the next morning. When I returned to reception the following day, I spoke with a different staff member who informed me that an upgrade was not possible due to the hotel being fully booked. However, this turned out to be untrue—I checked availability on the hotel’s own website and several booking platforms, and not only were rooms available, but rooms of higher categories were listed as well. I guess the receptionist couldn't be bothered with the admin work despite my willingness to pay the difference in price.

We were in Sydney for the purpose of surgery at St Vincents Hospital. We stayed for 12 nights, the staff were very friendly and accomodating, especially as our circumstances changed several times during our stay. The Hotel is in a great location, within easy walking distance to Kings Cross Railway station, supermarkets and many cafes and restaurants. Our Studio Deluxe room was well appointed with everything you would need if you want to prepare meals. The room was clean and comfortable. There is a great roof top terrace on Level 4 with city views. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Sydney.

This is a well presented apartment hotel which is located perfectly in the centre of Potts Point. The room is well appointed and presented clean and inviting. It has a good sized fridge, stove top and microwave for use. Although there are many restaurants located close by. However if you like to cook then the harris farm markets are accross the road and a woolworths is within walking distance as are a number of conenience stores. The reception was very welcoming and there is a carpark for the hotel that is convenient but make sure you book ahead.

The room was perfect, location perfect, service perfect, view was perfect. Incredible place to stay. I needed to be close to St Vincent’s for a week and they were very accommodating. I couldn’t fault the stay. They even have free laundry available with washer and dryer. Kings Cross can be a little undesirable at times but that’s the location. Otherwise I had no concerns around safety

I received an email saying that the hotel was being sold and they could not honour my booking. I was told to cancel the booking on the website and I would receive a full refund. I did that and they have just emailed me to say I will not be getting any refund even though they will not have a room available for me. I have emailed but no reply. What next? Legal route?
