Stayed here for three nights at the end of our walking tour. We walked from Paleochora in weird high winds, sandstorm and rain then humidity so we very pleased to see Markos' beaming welcoming smile and receive all information plus excellent tips. He is a font of information about the area.||Breakfast was good and decent orange juice.|The room (apartment) was spacious and well equipped.|The bed was comfortable.|Great to have a small kitchen area ( equipped) for having drinks, light snacks etc.||Well placed.

This is a wonderful hotel in a wonderful Cretan village on the south coast of the island. Markos, the owner, couldn’t do enough for us, advised on the best bars, restaurants and hikes for us during our stay, they did not disappoint. The room was spotless, spacious and very comfortable. Would definitely return if we’re ever back in the area.

Super family run hotel. Perfect location for walking the various gorges. Markus, the owner, extremely knowledgeable and helpful in planning walks and gave some great suggestions. Bed very comfortable and hotel was quiet.

Just going to leave this place, Markos and hotel a review even before we have left. We are on day 2 of 3 of our stay. Markos most excellent host. Wonderful communications. A beautiful family hotel run by lovely humans. Impeccably clean room and clean bathroom. The quality of everything is just so perfect. So spacious. Exactly what’s required for a hot summer stay. No frills. Everything done correct. Sougia is such a beautiful little village and I’m so happy to be here. You will not regret choosing to stay here.

We had a wonderful stay at Syia Hotel! The rooms were very comfortable and to our full satisfaction. Highlight was the balcony on which we enjoyed some beers after coming to our room. The rooms were perfectly clean and taken care of. In sum, we didn’t miss a thing and will definitely come back! Greetings from Vienna :)

An absolute gem! The host, Markos, was gracious, charming, and welcoming and immediately made us feel at home. The hotel grounds were pristine and well manicured. The rooms were spacious, AC was included, shuttered windows allowed for absolute darkness inside, and the location was serenely quiet. Breakfast included freshly fried eggs, cooked ham, cheeses, deli meats, yogurt, fruits, nuts and more. Miss it already.

Syia hotel is a lovely hotel. Above all, the owner is the perfect host and all his recommendations were very helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The location is convenient, very close to the sea and restaurants. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful.

The room is nice, you have enough space (the bath could be a bit bigger, but that's a minor), you can separately A/C the living room and the sleeping room. Everything is clean, the small but fully functional kitchen works fine. You should not drink the water, but you can in fact use it for everything else without any doubt, like cleaning your teeth and showering. In-between the buildings (all have a ground and a first floor) there is a small fountain, which is off at night. Small balconies as far as I see it for every apartment. These are fine if you are two, if your friends want to come over to have breakfast together, it's quite tight. The owners are nice, and there is even a quiet(!) power generator in case of a power loss, which obviously happens here occasionally. As far as I know, it's the only hotel here with a generator. Some restaurants or markets in the area have generators as well, but they are insanely loud. The rooms will be cleaned daily, it seems that every third day you get new two towels and a freshly made bed. All in all i really appreciate the hotel, and I warmly recommend to have a stay here. You are only 2-3 minutes away from the center, the beach, the bars and the restaurants.
