Decent place to get some burgers. They have 3 locations and we visited the Los Osos place. The burgers are pricey but they taste good. We also got some free fries on Friday. The place was not busy at all. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Check it out of you are in town.

Google
We have been here several times and the food and service is consistently good. The garlic fries have a little too much garlic on them IMO. The deep fried mushrooms are delicious, but they were out of them the last time we went. They have outdoor seating which is nice since we take our dog with us a lot of the time.

The Desperado burger, bowl style, was a big, deleicious, and mostly healthy meal. It was a little hard to hear the ticket numbers and one of our party members got their food much later, which suggested there wad a communication problem. But the food was enjoyable and it was worth the visit.

We always stop here! Great food and great service! Awesome atmosphere!

Google
Great place. I live 2 hours aways and have driven up here multiple times already cause the place is so great! The service is amazing and the food is the best burger i have tried in all of California! I would look forward to coming back, and would definitely recommend you giving it a try!

Google
Just a burger joint!!!! There is nothing special to it. BBQ table seating and bench style seating against the walking hand rails a couple of steps to get into the restaurant front door. There is a ramp from the parking lot, accessible!!!! There is also a seating area on the side of the building out door but more enclosed from the front area. The food was just ok!!!! I had a mushroom burger, sautéed? I'll say fresh out the can, warmed up!!! Fries were good, huge portion. My wife had a super corn dog like #Ol'RickPerry!!!! 🤘🏼 French fries, too. If you're close by, check it out, but we drove 30 mins. It's definitely not worth the trip, FYI!!!! Good luck, FolkZ

Google
It's just an average frozen bland burger with a high price point. The buttery toasted bread was the highlight. Produce was very fresh. I guess we are burger snobs, lol. Staff were upbeat and friendly. Patio needs a good de-webbing and pest service.

Google
Great burgers. Definitely a break from the dull fast food places. Pricing is a little deceptive if you're looking at the website. The website price is for a small burger then they upcharge for bigger patties. Paso Robles closes at 8 during the winter. I get the black and blue and they pile on the blue cheese. Chowder fries had huge chunks of clam. Sylvester's Sauce goes well with everything, don't forget to ask for extra.

Yelp
My daughter and I had just finished a mountain bike ride in nearby Montaña de Oro State Park and had previously researched dining options as we knew we'd be hungry and thirsty after our ride. There is a lot of seating both inside and outside the restaurant. Don't be mislead by the appearance of Sylvester's building; the food and service are excellent. The worker at the counter made sure we were aware of the specials of the day (which are very impressive, like half off drinks, including beer each Thursday). The menu options are many and you can order burger patties by size/weight and they come served with very fresh toppings. The server brought the food to our outside table very quickly. I was a bit surprised to see so many kids ride up on bicycles at different times (without parents) and order and enjoy their food. I had the 1/3 pound California burger and my daughter had the black bean California burger. We shared a basket of fries and couldn't even finish them even though they were perfectly cooked and quite tasty. Enjoy!

Yelp
Have not been in many years due to not liking the greasy food. They have changed for the better!! Not drowning in grease anymore. Taste good. Fresh ingredients. Thank you

Yelp
Sylvester's burgers was a staple when I was in college, and still a place I frequent when visiting the San Luis Obispo area to this day. They have a wide variety of burgers to choose from, as well as classic burger sides and shakes. The outside may look a little run down and old, but that's just the age of a local classic showing. Inside is eclectic, with a bunch of crazy hats welcoming you and photos all over the place of people coming for their free birthday burgers. The service here is relatively quick. Order at the counter and find a seat, then a staff member will bring you your food. I really love the Hana burger, and my husband likes the heart attack. Sylvester's offers several different sized burgers too, so there's the perfect size for every appetite. The onion rings are beer-battered and come in a huge portion, so make sure you're ready to share. Don't forget to get a size of their signature Sly sauce, too. Their shakes are delicious too, and they usually have a monthly special flavor. The prices have gone up in recent years, so it's definitely a good thing I don't live in the area anymore.

Yelp
Super friendly and cool staff. Gunner will take care of ya! Best bacon burgers in town and the zucchini fries are to die for!!

Yelp
My husband and I came here on May 21, 2024. Someone recommended this place to us so we decided to try it out. We arrived around 11:20 AM and there were a couple customers ahead of us and we noticed that the Fire Department was also there eating. We had our dogs with us and we sat outside. It was a cool day and it felt nice to sit outside in the sun. I ordered a 1/3 lb cheeseburger and my husband got a 1/2 lb cheeseburger. We shared an order of half onion rings and half fries. Looking at the time stamp of my photos, the food came out in 12 minutes (husband finished ordering at 11:24 AM and food came out at 11:36 AM). As I looked down at my burger which was open, I could see the juice running out of it, wow. I posted a video of it too lol. All the food was so hot so we could definitely tell it was just made. I literally had no complaints. We received friendly service, the food was delicious, loved the fries and the texture of the onion rings. If we're in the area again, this would be a place we would make a point of returning to as it was memorable.

Yelp
We had a craving for sweet potato fries, and really there is no better place to go than a Sylvester. I've been to their locations in Grover Beach and Atascadero several times, this is the first visit to Los, but it does not disappoint. Such an eclectic interior, really sets the stage for Sylvester. I think more Homie than the one in Atascadero even. Friendly staff. As the governator says, I'll be back!

Yelp
Elk burger was tasty and the hand dipped corn dog was really good. We liked the regular fries better than the garlic fries. Staff was attentive and the place had loud music which we liked and photos all over the walls.

Russell C.

Yelp
Great fries. Food served very quickly and hot. one of our party got a root beer float and said it was really good. The multiple patios are nice and we were able to bring our dogs. The burgers looked good but were only about average, but above average cost. I was hoping Sylvester's would be as good as Wee Shack.

Yelp
Awesome burgers, onion rings, and staff. The guy at the register was super cool and helpful. It was a slow winter Wednesday so it was nice and quiet. This place gets rockin on a busy spring weekend. Took family members for their first time and boy were they impressed.

Yelp
The reason I rate this place a 1 is due to the fact that I will only go here the one time. I ordered the 1/2 burger and it was 20$. Does not come with fries and a drink. You want that you pay extra. The burger was tasty for sure. It was not 2$ a bite good. The prices here are absolutely insane. When you walk in and see the old school menu board behind the counter it tricks you. Def not old school prices. One and done here. If you bring a family of four here you are paying 80$ AT LEAST, which is insane for burgers and fries.

Yelp
FLAVOR (3.5/5): Love that they have different patty size options here for someone who can't eat too much, I appreciate it. Very simple burgers here, I tried their mushroom burger which was loaded in mushrooms and had lettuce, tomatoes, onions, a patty and pickles! The bun got soggy from all the juices so it would have been nice to be more toasted. INSTAGRAM WORTHY (3.5/5): The shop itself stands out in the color of the building! The interior is covered in pictures on the walls, they have merch for purchase and ample outdoor seating! The burgers itself aren't anything out of the ordinary look wise. SERVICE (4/5): Order at the counter and they'll bring food out to you! Not too long of a wait on a Thursday night. TAKEAWAYS: Lots of street parking, and they have a promo everyday! Thursdays for examples are half of beverages but certain days you can get free fries, half off certain burgers, etc.

Yelp
This is a local favorite spot that our friend recommended. It's a little roadside shack looking kind of place that makes a great burger. Our table got sweet potato fries which have powdered sugar on them: a special twist. And are thick waffle cut which is delicious. We got 2 California burgers and a mushroom burger with fries. All the burgers tasted so fresh and clean. The California burgers came with a good amount of avocado and the Mushroom burger with a generous portion of mushrooms. They put a large full ring of red onion on the burgers which no one was a fan of, but appreciate the generosity of the ingredients. They give a big portion of fries too. And the shakes looked delicious. The employees were very kind and had a smile on their faces. We were very comfortable outside on a colder day with the heaters and protected from the wind on the patio.

Yelp
Love me some Sylvester's burgers. The loaded fries were bomb! Great value for your money

Yelp
Excellent burger and fries! Sat next to a lovely woman on a flight who used to live in Los Osos and recommended coming here for a burger and fries. It did not disappoint!

Yelp
Central Coast Cult burger shop various locations. Food is fresh prepared to order satisfyingly good. Thick cut bacon, homemade secret sauce char grilled beef melted cheese LTOP toasted bun. Fries are classic and battered onion rings laced with beer goodness. Food is delivered hot family friendly service. Sampling of beers to meet your taste before purchasing. Indoor outdoor ambiance booths inside, picnic tables on front and side patios. And a hand wash sink on patio because perfect juicy burgers drip on hands. A must stop when in the 805

Yelp
Always a delicious place to grab a burger when you are at the coast, and we were not disappointed. The place is kind of small at the front, but there is a lot of seating in the back and outside. Check their daily specials and order the biggest burger and the biggest fry because everything was so good I wish I had more.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly fast service with a classic menu. Tried the pastrami and decided to order just the way it comes. Flavor profile was on point. I tend to like thinner sliced pastrami but that's my personal preference as with most of my meat. Again just my preference so ignore me cause it was damn tasty. Didn't get to try any fries or onion rings so I'll definitely be trying that along with a burger next time. Selection of beer, wine and non alcoholic beverages was good. Enjoy your food on the outdoor patios or in the cool eclectic indoor. Music was rad rounding out a great experience.

Yelp
First time visiting Los Osos. We were looking for a place that served grass fed hamburgers and found Sylvester's! We ordered a grass fed burger, we visited on a Wednesday and got half off the regular price of "On the Range menu. My Gubby had a 1/2 Bacon Burger. We were craving fish and chips so we tried that as well. Also, a customer recommended the Clam Chowder fries. We were not disappointed at all, everything was delicious, fresh, and juicy. The staff was very nice and made excellent recommendations and were very accommodating with extra sauces. The ambiance was pleasant, we sat outside. Also loved the fact that they have a cute sink setup outside so you can wash your hands after eating such a juicy meal. Grass Fed Beef BurgerWill absolutely go back the next time we visit.

Sue B.

Yelp
The hamburgers were really yummy. I had the teriyaki pineapple burger and it was very good. The young man who served us gave us great service...came back with extra things we needed...very thoughtful. We plan on returning.

Yelp
Just came back a second year for my birthday again. This time there food was just down right wasn't good, old bread, very wet with no flavor. The prices are $16 just for a burger and it comes with no fries or drink. You're better off going to somewhere else. I miss how Sylvester's used to be, good food and respectable price. At least the one near pismo still makes good food.

Pete G.

Yelp
I had not been back here in over 15 years and the quality of burger and fries were delicious! The service and friendliness provided Angie was 5 's! When I visit the central coast I will definitely be back to eat here!

L S.

Yelp
4.5 stars. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Nice outside seating. Great service. Burgers were (black and bleu, Habanero, and California burgers) excellent, plenty of fresh lettuce, tomatoes , onions, pickles. The only thing missing was the Cajun seasoning in the black and bleu burger. The garlic sprinkled over the fries were a miss, but the ribbons of basil were a nice addition. The root beer and orange floats were fantastic! We will be back!

Yelp
Sylvester's Burgers is a staple in the central coast. Their Los Osos location is just as delicious as their Grover beach location. Prices have gone up a lot since the last time I've been here but quality has stayed the same.

Yelp
Went kayaking in Los Osos with our homeschool group. Took the children to Sylvester's after for a file up and to experience the original. The place was clean and neat with that legendary start up feeling(This is where it all started!) All ordered 1 pound burgers to share with fries and onion rings. The food came out in a good amount of time, the had split everything for us, that made things easy and the staff was very helpful. We had everything one would need and the food was spot on delicious. Great experience. We will be back!

Yelp
If you want a really good burger, I recommend coming to this restaurant! This restaurant has one of the best burgers I've had in fact! Not only is the burger juicy, but it has a wonderful sauce and toppings. The Sylvester's sauce is similar to fry sauce (if you're familiar with Idaho cuisine), it is wonderful and contributes lots of flavor and texture to the burger! The mushrooms on the mushroom burger had a lovely wine reduction that made them excellent to even eat by themselves. The fries were crispy and well seasoned as well. The servers at the restaurant are very kind. We arrived a couple minutes before closing without knowing, and they served us with a kind smile. They even let us stay until we were done eating! Come to this restaurant for a homey and wonderful atmosphere and sandwich!

Yelp
The front staff conducted themselves as if they were so busy and doing so much business, they didn't need to treat customers with kindness. There were 4 cars in the parking lot at 6 pm on a Saturday night, one of them mine. Two kids in the eating area outside. I read the order that I was texted by my family member. It was pretty clear to me. The young woman had a lot of questions. Fine. I did my best to order the way she needed me to. She seemed annoyed. Three burgers, one a child's burger with fries and one shake. $51 please. $9.00 for a chocolate shake that looked like a circus (they only have one size), I asked them to take off the whipped cream and other decorations. I asked for extra tomatoes (the burger itself was around $13 and I was unaware they charged me .85 for an extra single slice of tomato. Large burger was dripping with grease, I get it, some people like that. I asked for a burger in a lettuce wrap. We got a hamburger patty on a pile of lettuce. Child's burger looked like a McDonald's cheeseburger. The fries were enjoyed. I get it, everything is more expensive, food, labor, rent, materials. I also understand that making customers feel welcome and appreciated - costs nothing extra. Giving this facility 3 stars is generous. 4 for the food, 1 for the service.

Yelp
Nice burgers and fries. Good prices. Very busy at lunch, tight parking. Yes I will return
google avatar

Natalie G.

Yelp
We heard amazing things about Sylvester's so we had to stop by! Immediately when you arrive you fall in love with the place! There is so much character in the restaurant and the workers are so nice. The portions are HUGE so if you don't want an oversized burger, I would go with the 1/4 pound burger (kids burger) which is still a filling size. I got mine with the impossible burger patty and it wasn't the best impossible meat i've ever had but the sauce in the burger and all of the condiments made it so that the burger was still delicious. They are very messy so make sure you have plenty of napkins nearby!
google avatar

Mary E.

Yelp
The food is way overpriced. The restaurant is dirty. The cooking area looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years. It's hit and miss with the food. The service is excellent.
google avatar

Andrietta L.

Yelp
The BEST burger joint in all of SLO county! Love that you have different sized burger options based on your appetite. They are all soo juicy you'll definitely need the sink in the out door area to wash your hands afterwards. The onions rings & garlic fries are sooo good, tastes fresh! First time ever having a pineapple shake and loved it. The ambiance reminded me of a Hawaii burger joint. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Patricia M.

Yelp
One of my favorites- lots of menu choices with comfortable relaxed atmosphere and good service. Food is always delicious, reasonably priced, near the park great location, fast service without really being fast food.
google avatar

Nita W.

Yelp
Service charge on an already outrageous bill! And...Los Osos Sales Tax is 7.25% NOT 8.75% which is printed on my receipt. Over $50 for 2 - 1/3 pound soggy hamburgers and 2 large servings of onion rings. I can see why business is slow.
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
A filling meal. Plentiful. Casual enclosed outdoor eating area. Daughter's chocolate shake looked like a masterpiece. Wife thought the hand-battered onion rings were too heavy but I enjoyed them. I tried the chili and it was good, but most probably come for the burgers. Adult daughter said her hot dog was satisfying, but light on onions. There's a discount when paying cash, I presume related to some state tax loophole.

Edna M.

Yelp
We went here because one of our friends told us they had the best burgers, and they were huge, and they would feed us both, so we were excited to try because we are burger people. We ordered their old fashion burger with bacon and cheese. It was so burnt and over salted that I could not eat it we ended up leaving and just going back to Morro Bay to the Hofbrau.
google avatar

Chelsea B.

Yelp
Such a cool little spot! My boys loved Going over to Sylvester's with all the cool pictures on the wall & decent music playing. If you are a cheeseburger connoisseur this might be a destination dinner spot. The burgers are classic ! They always hit the spot! Can't tell you how uncomfortable the meat sweats are so you'll just have to come for lunch or dinner so you can experience what is called the meat sweats and or food coma . All of it is well worth it! Pro tip wear elastic stretch pull on pants. .

David L.

Yelp
Found this place by accident and I'm sure glad I did. One of those roadside "hole in the wall" places that blow you away. Made to order, hot off the grill, and super fresh veggies on the burgers. I would recommend this anytime. Next time I'm in the area I'll be absolutely coming back!
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
The prices were recently raised! How in the world can the medium sized burger 1/3 lb be $18 w NO fry or drink. 2 for lunch cost us over $63 --- seriously? My date balked at the prices and then I showed her my original review. She seriously shook her head because the food is good. I had to lower my rating bc it's $$$$$$$
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
I love the variety of burgers that Sylvester's has. They even have a nice selection for vegetarians. My favorite is the mushroom burger! The staff is also so friendly and laid back. The Los Osos location has an outdoor patio seating that's really nice too.

Patti R.

Yelp
Great burger and fries just how I like it. Well done and crispy fries were perfect. They have different lunch specials too! Good job . I recommend.

Michelle E.

Yelp
Daniel at the cash register is the man! Or Dan the man I should say? Anyways, my husband and I ate here over the Fourth of July weekend and could not have had better service. It was our first time here so he was beyond accommodating, explained all of the specials, and helped me pick out a vegan burger. The most special thing about this place is that he cared so much about the presentation of the food. No don't get me wrong, it's all about taste, but the presentation does go far! I highly recommend this place. I wish I could eat her more often but sadly I don't live in CA. I have been craving it ever since I left. Best burgers and fries hands down!
google avatar

Will N.

Yelp
Food was great and so was the atmosphere. The view is good outside. Service was helpful and good, quick as well.

Kevin D. M.

Yelp
2 pastrami sandwiches with nothing on them , one fry, one zucchini and one shake $61 dollars later . No sandwich is worth this and so little meat as to be non existent. What a joke . Had to re heat the fries of course in the air fryer , left pile of rancid grease in my fryer . Never will I go back to this place again .
google avatar

Martha P.

Yelp
This place is a must always if your are in the slo county area. Food is great can be pricey but definitely delicious. Been here a few times and never disappoints. I recommend the pineapple shake for sure.

Yelp
Okay. So we got some insider advice to try this place. YOU SHOULD GO! Probably one of the top 5 burgers ever which on any given day could be the best based on what was available. The burger (we had a mushroom cheese) was delicious. It was hot, juicy, and the taste was incredible. It had the throwback aroma and taste of those childhood places where everything stood out but somehow melted together with each chew into an incredible melody of taste. I loved everything about it. We had half fries and onion rings. Full disclosure. I am allergic to onions (travesty) and this was like the last temptation. The fries were incredible and there was an onion ring staring at me. Mocking me. Yea, I know how this goes. It looks so much better than it tastes. I know that the "milk is not worth the squeeze" but I had just finished a 3 hour bike ride and I was hungry. Despite the pleas of my family I grabbed one and took a bite. O.M.G. It was like a firework explosion in my mouth. I wanted to down an entire order but knew better of it due to my allergy. To put this in perspective, I don't cook or eat onions yet somehow this place got me to abandon my senses and take part with the ring. THE MILK WAS SO WORTH THE SQUEEZE. So here is what you need to do if you have read to this point and are still trying to decide. Close Yelp. Drive to this place ASAP and order a burger. They have all types. And don't forget onion rings and fries. I am literally planning my next visit to the area and plan to visit every time I can!

Yelp
After attending my grand nephews masters graduation from Cal Poly SLO today. Drove 25 mins to Sylvester's Burgers in Los Osos. Ordered the following: Onions rings with ranch 5 star. Thin crispy fresh made. Sweet potatoes fries crinkle cut with powdered sugar. 5 star Heart attack and avocado 1/3 lb. 5 star juicy and fresh Old fashion burger good Friendly and fast service... dining outside. I will be back.... Thank you Staff okay

Tim T.

Yelp
The pineapple milkshake has been a favorite treat of my friends and I for the last few years. Though expensive at $9+, they're around 32oz, so more than enough to share and absurdly delicious. So today, when I placed an order for a 2 milkshakes, paid $20.19 total, and was handed 2 of these, at least half the size... I was devastated. The cashier informed me "this is how it is now, the owners..." and trailed off. I feel taken advantage of paying $20+ for two milkshakes and I don't see a reason to return of recommend this place anymore.

Yelp
Holy EXPENSIVE Batman! We got a grilled cheese kids meal, tri tip sandwich and burger for $70. The price was shocking. The tri-tip was good, but not mouth watering. Burger was undercooked, but not bad. Can't really mess up a grilled cheese. The fries are bomb as is the ranch. One of the workers did not seem like they wanted to be there whatsoever, just sulking around. I don't think we'll be back. The price is not worth what you are getting.
google avatar

Jill L.

Yelp
Some unexpected bomb ass diner food we found as we headed back to Paso Robles! Let me tell you, this clam chowder is NO JOKE. It won the Morro Bay clam chowder cook off and for good reason! And don't sleep on those garlic fries people!
google avatar

Yelp
After our long hike, we wanted a hardy lunch so we came to this burger place! We ordered online for pick up. Online said it would be ready within 15 minutes but we waited another 15 minutes when we arrived. It was busy so we didn't mind waiting! We ordered the California and Desperato burgers with garlic fries and chowder fries. Everything was good! The chowder fries were popular so we had to try it out and wow, it didn't disappoint! Who knew chowder on fries were hella good?!
