Dined at Synthesis at Suntec City (Tower 4) and overall had a very enjoyable experience.
The restaurant is beautifully renovated and thoughtfully designed. I really appreciate how they cleverly merge a modern contemporary interior with elements inspired by a traditional Chinese medical hall entrance. The walkway leading to the main dining hall is especially well done, with great lighting that sets the mood even before you step inside.
Service was a strong point. The staff were genuinely friendly, attentive, and very responsive, making us feel comfortable throughout the meal. Food was served at a well-judged pace — not rushed, yet not draggy either, which made the dining flow very pleasant.
Food-wise, the menu is highly creative. You can tell the chef is particularly strong with sauces, which play a major role in elevating the flavours of the dishes. Most plates were well-balanced and memorable, though at times we felt the sauces could be slightly lighter, as they occasionally overpowered the main ingredients.
Do not miss the mocktails and cocktails — they are unique, thoughtfully crafted, and very tasty. That said, the portion size of the drinks is quite small. They can be finished in just a few sips, which feels a little underwhelming given the price point.
Ambience-wise, the space feels like a fusion between a stylish pub and a modern restaurant. The low lighting is comfortable and inviting, though the music can be a bit loud during dinner service. Turning it down slightly would improve conversation comfort.
Overall, Synthesis delivers a creative dining experience with strong flavours, excellent service, and a distinctive concept. With slightly lighter sauces, softer music during dinner, and more generous drink portions, this place would be even better. Still, a very solid spot and definitely worth visiting.
