Great museum, the early Roman history of Tarragona is told very well with large panels (English available), photos and artefacts from the area. You get a great overview in 30-60min. Entrance is €4, it was free on the Sunday I went.

As a student of Roman history I really wanted to see Tarragona and this museum’s artifacts - it was a temporary exhibit but it was well thought out, well priced, had English descriptions, and a lot of good stuff on display. I loved the mosaics and statue busts, and you can get very close to all of it to appreciate the work of these anonymous craftsmen from 2000 years ago. Didn’t feel like I ‘missed out’ by not being able to see the permanent museum.

The museum building might be closed but don't miss this exhibit. Outstanding Roman era pieces. Audio guide.

Currently a temporary exhibition but still worth the visit. Well laid out and clear information in multiple languages.

A fine selection of artifacts with useful multilingual information. The only downside is that this is a temporary installation while the museum is being refurbished. A little out of the way.

Even though this was housed in a temporary location, attention had been given to pieces that allowed you to imagine a moment in history and what the world must have been like. Very cheap entrance and south nice staff available to answer any questions. We visited midweek in September so didn't have to book in advance or wait in line to get in.

Very interesting. Information boards in exhibits. The combination ticket includes entrance here and the necropolis.

This is just a temporary museum while the original is being renovated so it's a little sparse but it does give you an insight into the history of the city.
