Ta' Marija - Your Gastro Maltese Kitchen since 1964

Ta’ Marija is more than just a restaurant it’s a full Maltese dining experience. Family-owned since 1964, you can feel the owner’s passion for the place as he personally introduces the restaurant and shares stories throughout the evening. Alongside the meal, there’s a wonderful local Maltese performance with live music and storytelling, which eventually transforms into a full-on party. Complete with 80s classics and everyone in the restaurant up and dancing. While I wasn’t as impressed with the food itself, the exceptional entertainment and atmosphere made the evening unforgettable. If you’re visiting Malta, this is an experience I would highly recommend.

All the reviews are correct, you receive a very warm welcome and the contemporary folklore evening is a very polished well run experience. The menu is varied with traditional choices and good sized portions. Don’t add salt without tasting first, everything is very well seasoned! The Maltese trifle was lovely. The very loud traditional music to accompany the meal was provided by two traditional lol electric guitars The Cultural show is a bit twee, the dances comprised the same moves performed in a different order with an amusing commentary. There were no men and the costumes were more cortisan, than traditional Maltese folklore. The evening concludes with 30 minutes of very loud step back in time disco- dancing (Jet2 holiday) Overall a pleasant evening and worth €55 per head without a hotel pick up. Note the red Merlot was drinkable and the Maltese white wine requires a less discerning palate. Do go, its an entertaining experience but make sure you check your bill

The owner was so passionate about his business and it showed. Our greeting made us feel special, the place was beautiful and we had a good table with comfortable seats. Menu was vast and reasonable so we're the drinks. Service was exceptional. This is a great night to visit, with the folk dancers, and then able to dance ourselves. A 10/10 for anyone. Thank you

Ta’ Marija is a well-known Maltese restaurant that draws a lively crowd, especially for its cultural dance performance at 9:30 PM—which was entertaining and added a festive vibe to the evening. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the energy of the show. We ordered the snails, stuffed squid, baked rabbit, and prawn linguine. The snails were decent and ended up being the most enjoyable of the dishes. The rabbit was quite dry, the stuffed squid lacked flavor, and the prawn linguine was watery and disappointing. That said, the service was very friendly, and the staff made us feel welcome throughout the evening.

Such a fantastic experience at Ta' Marija very elegant and welcoming they offer typical dishes from Maltese cuisine I ordered seafood soup full of flavor as main course I ordered horse Stew cooking with wine and lacto beer very tender highly recommend, don't miss it .Ben the owner very friendly and attentive my waitress was Paula very professional and huge knowledge about the menu ( keep shinning Ben and Paula)

Host was fantastic, welcoming and entertaining. It doesn't only show you the tradition of Malta, you can really feel it. Very helpful and great staff able to accommodate allergies and made the whole evening magical. Next time in Malta would definitely return .

It is RARE that I come to a restaurant alone and stay for THREE and a half hours! 😍🥰 Had a MARVELOUS time!!! The atmosphere, the music, and the food were excellent. But it’s the people that made it exceptional!! 🤩 Eri, the manager, makes sure that the house runs so smooth and still found time to come over and share fascinating stories. Fun fact, he plays guitar. Who knows, maybe you’ll get him to rock out one night! 🎸 Belinda (Bella) on the other hand brings such joy and passion to the room. She thrives in this environment and makes you feel like the star. ⭐️ We had some incredibly stimulating and inspiring conversations that took us places I didn’t expect. ❤️ Both went above and beyond to make a simple dinner into a night that I will never forget! Thanks! 🥰

As a local I hosted some foreign friends at this fine restaurant. Everything was top notch! From the second we entered the staff welcomed us and service was fantastic. The food, local & international was perfectly cooked and may I add the price was great. The entertainment was great fusing local music with a good atmosphere, animation & live performances. For sure will be returning and recommending this venue. Big well done to Ben & all his team. Keep it up!
