Good for a half day trip from Phnom Penh. The Chisor temple is 20 minutes further making it perfect to visit both in one run.
Visiting, I didn't realize the name was the same as that infamous temple in Angkor where the famous movie was shot. Judging by the photos posted here, I feel like there is some confusion overall as many pictures posted here are actually from Angkor.
Nevertheless, it's a pretty interesting place for a quick visit.
The entrance seems to be free, but be prepared that the 'parking lot security' will ask ridiculous amount for their "highly necessary services" ($1 per person, not that I was really complaining, but the usual price of parking is a quarter of that, for a bike, not a person). And the people hanging out in and around the place will ask for money, too. Especially, of course, if you are obviously a foreigner. I was followed by a group of little kids for the entirety of my visit, which left a bad overall impression. I could have paid them off, but I don't use cash and they can't accept any other mean of payment understandably. So it was a temple visit full of 'money, money' yelling almost non stop.
The temple itself is great. Some very interesting details are well preserved.
