If you are going to visit Cuenca- don't look for another accomodation! The location of the hostal is unbeatable- a stone throw from the Cathedral (very impressive and unique, by the way) and also quite. Modern bathroom , shower with a good pressure. Impecably clean linens and towels. We asked to have a tea kettle in the room and was given not only the one but a great selection of different teas. No breakfast but coffe facilities and pastries are provided.||The property is beautiful outside and inside. We found ourselves in a medieval fairytale. At the same time the facilities are modern and very functional..||Definetely to stay!

This hostel is a real deal. It is conveniently located between Plaza Mayor and Castillo, just at the bus stop (Linea 1 and 2), and the staff is relaxed and friendly.||||The room we've got was really ample, perfectly clean, decorated white in a pleasant simplistic manner. Very comfy bed, great shower, clean and renovated to a pretty high standard bathroom. Fantastic view from the window. - an all this, in the end of August, only for 50 euros a night.

I first stayed here 2+ years ago and was blown away by the standard and the price. A return visit confirms things are as good as they were. This is a real find - large modern clean bedroom, great modern sizable bathroom, and the most fantastic views into the valley from the back rooms. No breakfast is on offer, but they provide tea/coffee-making in the room with small packaged cakes - a nice touch. Te location is great - at the top of the old town it forces you to walk up hill at the end of the day! And at 35 euros a night for a double room single use, it is an absolute steal! You probably need to contact them directly, as they are not with Booking.com etc. But I don't think - unless you want to spend hundreds of euros at the Parador - that you will find better value in Cuenca. Oh - a tip - there is no reception, but if you go around the corner to the little shop underneath (during shop hours!) they can give you keys and check you in.

Fantastic little hotel that’s perfectly located to explore Cuenca. ||Located right next to the old gates of the city, with the city square only a 3 minute walk the hotel has breathtaking views.||You check in by going into the shop next to it, very easy check in, exceptionally friendly Staff, really nice.||The room offered simply amazing views, you’ll need to go far to beat them!|Clean and well equipped, we liked the coziness of the room.||We’d gone back and use this hotel again, it really is special

We found this place through Lonely Planet and great reviews on TripAdvisor and they were both spot on! I highly recommend visiting the lovely town on Cuenca and staying overnight. Hostal Tabanqueta is a little hotel at the top of the old town part of Cuenca with great views from the back rooms over the valley. The hotel is spotlessly clean, warm (it was winter!) and newly decorated. It's a little tricky to book, phone call is the best, as they don't reply to emails, but we had no problem checking in when we arrived.||Highly recommended!

The hostel is in the Castle area within easy walking distance of everything of interest in historical Cuenca. My room was very quiet, clean, with all you need (flat screen tv, water brewer+tea+coffee, hair dryer, lots of toiletries..), bathroom very modern with great shower.||No breakfast served but lots of places near by where you can eat.||Ana was very nice, friendly and helpfull with all I asked for.||I would recommend this hostal to everybody who wants to visit Cuenca.

I found this hostel (misnomer in my opinion...much more of a hotel room) on Airbnb. I made an inquiry that was replied to but the reservation was never confirmed through that service so I just drove up there and took my chances. I'm guessing they are maybe not that familiar with Airbnb, but that's ok as this place was fantastic. ||||At 35 Euro/night, this place was an excellent value. I had a cute little room that had the most comfortable bed I think I've ever slept in while traveling (and that's including 5 star hotels). This place has clearly been recently renovated with a very modern bathroom (lots of toiletries at your disposal), double-paned windows that easily keeps out the street noise and/or wind, a flat-screen TV, yummy pastries and a little espresso machine. Seriously, I couldn't believe it was so inexpensive!||||It's almost to the top of the old town so the views are fabulous and there is a parking garage maybe 50 meters down the hill, so no problem parking a car. As well, it's about a 5 minute walk to the head of the trail that winds into the gorge under the stunning cliffs of Cuenca. That walk is amazing, by the way, and is very easy...don't miss it.||||I would stay here again without hesitation!!
