12 Best Places for Shopping in Madrid | Condé Nast Traveler

"The first step to making real-deal Spanish food in your home kitchen is procuring the proper equipment, and the family-run Alambique, stocked with a variety of Spanish-made cooking utensils and dinnerware, is Madrid's best one-stop shop for your culinary needs. You'll find everything you need to throw an epic tapas party: paella pans, olive-wood platters, cocktail napkins printed with fans, and those dainty round earthenware dishes essential for making sizzling garlic shrimp. More ambitious cooks should check out the spherification kits." - Benjamin Kemper

My first meal in Madrid was at this wonderful spot, and it truly set a high bar for the rest of my visit! They offer a generous and diverse menu (starter, main, and dessert +beer!) at a really good price. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the owners were incredibly nice and attentive. I'm sure I'll be back on my next trip!

The service was very passive, my salad came with no dressing and was simply an uncooked/unseasoned mix of lettuce, avocado, tomato, corn, and onions. Before I was finished the server came and took it away from me, without even asking. This seemed rude and did not make for a pleasant dining experience. The cachopo was decent, though from the other reviews I had higher expectations. The fried patatas were undercooked. Overall I felt I paid too much for what I received. To end on a high note, the espresso (which was included in the daily menu) was good and the owner gave us a free shot of coffee liqueur. The atmosphere felt authentically Spanish, which was nice. I would absolutely not go here again, however.

Stumbled across this place whilst walking around and wow. Great food!!! Big portions, friendly staff, warm and nice atmosphere. Tried the moussaka, chicken curry and vermut. All were excellent!!! It was just me so I took a lot of it to go and will have an amazing dinner :)

Had dinner here yesterday. It was magnificent. We had the moussaka which was absolutely perfect. The chickrn curry was good too. The bread was warm and crusty, the wine was nice, the dessert was delicious. Would certainly come back.

Cozy local place with outstanding hosts offering an amazing experience. We couldn't be happier for choosing this place for our dinner after arriving in Madrid. When we arrived, Juanito introduced himself and made sure we were welcomed! Unpretentious style with a great ambience and perfect service. Price is fare and the food is so tasty, with many options in the menu. We'll definitely come back!
