Taberna Maceira 2 (Huertas, 66)

It’s been 10 years since I ate here. Still quite tasty and simple fare at good prices. Kind service in a rustic style room. Worth a visit. Pacing of the meal is slow as noted in other reviews but still a good experience.

Really great little Galician tapas bar for the locals gets a 5/5. Great food and selection including lots of amazing and fresh seafood, meat, veggies in traditional Galician and Spanish dishes. Great selection of drinks including local beers, wine and sangria. Great value but not necessarily ‘cheap’. We went twice and everything was great, including the warm and friendly service. It was a recommendation from a friend from Madrid. Highly recommend.

An interesting place, but unfortunately overcrowded. The staff doesn't speak any English that I can understand. We tried to figure it out with a vocabulary but there was no effort. Meals over salted - probably they want the guests to order more drinks. Unfortunately, not recommended, there are better places in Madrid.

We had Caldo Gallego and mussel soup with a selection of gallician cheeses! It was incredible! The service was friendly and efficient! And the prices were unbelievably reasonable. My only criticism was that they wouldn't share their recipes! Cant wait to return!

Food 4 stars, service 2 stars, thus the average of 3 stars. Servers tended to be forgetful and spoke no english. Final bill did not match the menu prices, but as the servers spoke no english, I just did not want to argue. Also food took really long time to arrive and in no particular order

Beautiful classic Gallegan tabern. Simple and straight to the point. Mostly all dishes server are fish/shellfish based. Chairs could be better to be honest, tiny stools with no backrest. Needless to say that food was delicious so would definitely go back for sure.

Let’s be honest: it has some sort of Galician Music, tries to make you feel in Galicia but it’s merely a tourist trap. Size of portions are quite small compared to even simpler other Bars around (the Tortilla it’s bad) Then the speed to bring you food is also questionable. I think that you have other places to have a better experience, and not feeling you ripped off by paying a lot by something that is not to the level

We came to this place, because a friend recommended. We couldn't even eat. No one was at the front, so we found a table,after a few minutes, the waitress shout from far that we couldn't seat there if we didn't have a reservation (the place was almost empty) we changed to one of the two tables she pointed. After few minutes waiting, no one came. And the waitress approached people that came after us. Anyway. It is a pity, because we heard that the Maceira 1 is very good
