We came a little before closing and got lucky that the kitchen was still open for customers. We ordered three items from the menu: smoked pork belly with orange salad, garlic prawns, and octopus with sweet potato mash. All of them were delicious. My personal favorite were the prawns and the sweet potato mash. Prawns were in a tangy sauce and sliced garlic, great for this rainy winter day. The mash was sweet but not overwhelming. These dishes filled us up! Recommend it if you’re by Santa Apolonia, it’s about a 5 minute walk from the metro/train station.

The best meals I had while in all of Portugal. We came back and ate twice at this place because the food was so delicious and we wanted to try more of their selection. Would highly recommend the Octopus, it was cooked perfectly and portion size was fairly large. The Baby Squid dish was amazing and the sauce was super delicious. Would also suggest trying the Tomato “Miga,” if you like stuffing it is very similar but with a tomato base, so good. You can’t really go wrong with anything on their menu here and the service is also exceptional!

So delicious and exactly what I needed from my first meal in Portugal. I had the orange + almond salad, mushroom rice, and garlic prawns. Service was quick and food was so fresh and balanced. The door was closed when I walked up and so I was waiting outside thinking they'd come let me in (I was maybe 2 mins early for my 9:15pm reso) but a couple came up and knocked and then they let us all in; that was the only part that threw me.

Came here for lunch with a reservation. Small establishment so I would highly recommend making a reservation. Food was very good and came in generous portions. We didn’t expect to enjoy the tomato salad as much as we did. Succulent sweet tomatoes balanced perfectly w the salty ham and cheese and the subtle sweetness of the figs. The garlic prawns were very fresh and very tasty. The sauce was a little too salty though. The octopus was also very well cooked, very fresh, again, a bit too salty. The sweet potato mash was delicious too. Great meal overall, would have been perfect if it was less salty.

The food was good, but the service truly stood out. The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making us feel very well taken care of throughout the entire meal. Everything came out quickly, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great experience thanks to the outstanding service.

Went on a recommendation and so glad we did. Would not have found this spot, as it is tucked away on the edge of the Alfama. This was the best lunch I've had in a long time, probably top five ever. The beef tartare and skate (Ray) wing were highlights. When I come back to Lisbon, this will be on my "must do" list.

It is honestly impossible to pick a favorite! ​We ordered 5 dishes to share: . ​Beringela com iogurte (Eggplant w/ yogurt) . ​Bacalhau à Brás . ​Polvo com esmagada de batata doce (Octopus w/ mashed sweet potato) . ​Tártaro de novilho c/ nozes (Beef tartare w/ walnuts) . ​Bochechas de porco com migas de tomate (Pork cheeks) ​We paired it with a bottle of Oxalá red wine, which was excellent. We finished off with the Farófias for dessert. If you are looking for a place where every bite is perfect, this is it.

Although the food tasted good, we felt very scammed by the portion, we ordered the MAIN dish of garlic shirmp for 16 euros and it contained only seven shrimp!!? No bread on the side or frites no nothing ? How is this a main dish ? If it was a fancy or bougie restaurant, maybe I would have forgiven them but even though I would still feel like it’s over the top. But keep in mind that this restaurant is very casual with a casual mediocre bare minimum service. Bread for three euro ? tap water for 2.60? We left hungry feeling like we only ate appetizers, even though we ordered a main dish and a couple of side dishes. Sorry to say this but only clueless tourist with no perception of how prices work in Portugal would you rate this place highly, and encourage this scammy behavior, it just feels like they are happy that they can scam tourists, part of me feels that these prices are just unforgivable. If you go to the nearest supermarket, you can make these exact dishes for 1/10 of the price, it just does not make any sense how these prices are, especially that the restaurant is a very casual restaurant with mediocre seating arrangement. It’s not like it’s a bougie place or a fancy establishment. For these prices the portion should be at least double and even tho it would still be in the expensive side, that’s how the portions are just so tiny and uncomprehendible for the price.
